At Albright College – Won 6-4 (9 innings) & Lost 13-7

Senior shortstop Mike Gill had the game-winning hit in the first game of a doubleheader split at Albright College to finish the season with 41 hits, tying the Moravian College record.  The Greyhounds won the first game 6-4 in nine innings but lost the second game 13-7 to close out the season with a 14-19 overall record and a -8 slate in the Commonwealth Conference.  Moravian won the first game in the ninth inning on two-RBI double by Gill.  Sophomore first baseman Bob Frey had two hits in the game for the Greyhounds.  Freshman pitcher Greg Peters tossed 7 2/3 innings in relief to get the win for the Greyhounds and freshman hurler Brett Porter picked up his second save of the season.  Peters had four strikeouts while Porter had one strikeout while facing two batters.  In the second contest, the Greyhounds had a 2-0 lead after the top half of the first inning on a two-run homer by sophomore outfielder Jeff Meila before the Lions scored a run in the bottom of the inning and six more runs in the second inning.  For Moravian, junior outfielder Michael Abbate was had a pair of doubles and scored three runs while Frey and sophomore outfielder Luke Bricker each had two hits.  Gill added two RBIs in the second game on a pair of sacrifice flies.  Junior Randy Woolley suffered the loss on the mound for the Greyhounds.

At DeSales University – Won 15-10

Senior shortstop Mike Gill collected three hits to move within three of the Moravian single season record but it wasn't enough as the Greyhounds fell to DeSales University, 15-10, in non-conference action.  Gill was 3-for-6 in the game with one runs scored while sophomore third baseman Charlie Bowden went 2-for-5 with one RBI.  Bowden also pitched the final inning of the contest for Moravian.  Junior outfielder Michael Abbate drove in three runs and scored two more while collecting one hit.  Bowden and senior outfielder Joe Pochron each had doubles in the game for Moravian.  Freshman second baseman Matthew Turtell scored three times in the game and had two walks as did Abbate.  Sophomore first baseman Bob Frey walked three times and had one hit with one RBI.  The Greyhounds led 4-0 in the game before DeSales scored six times in the bottom of the third inning.  Moravian had a scored tied at 8-8 after six and a half innings but the Bulldogs scored five times in the bottom of the seventh inning to put the game away.   Junior Curtis Hoff suffered the loss on the mound for the Greyhounds, pitching the seventh inning.  Freshman Andrew Park and sophomore Jerry Coveney each tossed three innings in the game for Moravian.

At Wilkes University – Won 10-8

Moravian posted a 10-8 win over Wilkes University in a non-conference baseball game at Ted Hiller Field.  The Greyhounds took a 4-0 lead in the third, using four bases on balls and two hits to do the damage.  Mike Abbate and Mike Gill drew consecutive one out walks, and Jeff Meila followed with a single that scored Abbate for the game's first run.  After Joe Pochron grounded out for the second out of the inning, Bob Frey drilled a two-run double to make it 3-0.  Frey then scored on a Colonel error to cap the scoring in the inning.  The Colonels bounced back with three runs in their half of the third.  Matt Diltz walked to open the frame.  Jim Casey then doubled to move Diltz to third.  J.J. Sodaro followed with a two-run double to cut the lead to 4-2.  One out later, Joe Casey doubled to score Sodaro and make it 4-3.  Both teams scored a single run in the fifth inning.  Moravian got their run on an rbi-single by Matt Turtell.  Wilkes got their run when Matt Titus doubled to score Sodaro.  The Greyhounds then scored twice in the sixth and once in the seventh to take an 8-4 lead.  Mike Gill had a run-scoring double and Joe Pochron drove in Gill with a single in the sixth.  Charlie Bowden reached on an error in the seventh and scored on a double steal.  Wilkes got a single run in the seventh to cut the deficit to 8-5.  The Colonels run came when Joe Casey scored brother Jim Casey with a single.  But, Moravian would tack on two more runs in the eighth on an RBI-double from Gill and a run-scoring single from Frey to take a 10-5 advantage.  Wilkes closed to within 10-8 with three runs in the eighth.  Jim Casey drove in the first run with a ground out and Matt Titus delivered the second run with a single.  The third Wilkes run came on a Moravian error.  The Colonels did manage three hits in the ninth inning, but Curtis Hoff got out of the jam to pick up the save for Moravian.  Ryan Boyle was credited with the win after four and two-thirds innings of relief.  Abbate had three hits to lead Moravian.  Gill, who doubled twice, Frey, who doubled once and drove in three runs, and Meila each had two hits.

At Drew University – Won 11-3 & Won 6-0

Moravian College senior shortstop Mike Gill had a pair of hits in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader to become the fifth player in Moravian history surpass 100 career hits to lead the Greyhounds to an 11-3 victory over Drew University.  Freshman Greg Peters tossed a four-hit shutout in the second game as the Greyhounds swept the twinbill with a 6-0 win.  Gill picked up his 100th hit in the top of the first inning of game won with a double to left field.  Gill and junior outfielder Michael Abbate would score on Drew errors.  The Greyhounds would score three more runs in the top of the fourth inning with Abbate hitting a RBI double to score freshman outfielder Ethan Ordog.  Gill would plate Abbate with a single and he would score on another Drew error.  Moravian put the game away in the sixth inning with four runs.  Abbate scored on a bases loaded walk to senior designated hitter Joe Pochron and Gill scored on a walk to sophomore first baseman Bob Frey.  Pochron scored on a single by sophomore third baseman Charlie Bowden and Frey scored on a ground out by Ordog.  The Greyhounds final two runs of the first game came in the seventh inning with Gill scoring on a single by junior outfielder Curtis Hoff and Hoff crossing the plate on a double by Frey.  In the contest, sophomore outfielder Jeff Meila had three of the Greyhounds 11 hits while Abbate and Gill each had two hits.  Freshman hurler Brett Porter earned the victory on the mound, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk with one strikeout.  The win was Porter’s second of the season.  In the second game, Peters did not allow a runner past second base and he earned his second win of the year.  Peters allowed three walks in addition to the four hits and he struck out a career high ten batters.  The Greyhounds gave Peters all the offense he would need in the first inning when Abbate scored on an error by Drew after doubling to lead off the game and stealing third base.  Moravian would add a run in the second inning with Frey scoring on a bases loaded walk to Abbate.  The Greyhounds put a three-spot on the board in the sixth inning with Frey and junior outfielder Bill Quinn scoring on a single by Hoff and Hoff scoring on a RBI single by freshman second baseman Matthew Turtell.  Moravian’s final run came in the seventh inning when Pochron scored on a Drew error on a ball hit by Quinn.

At Lebanon Valley College – Lost 2-1 (8 innings) & Lost 5-1

Moravian was virtually eliminated from of the Commonwealth Conference playoff race with a doubleheader loss, 2-1 in eight innings and 5-1, at first-place Lebanon Valley College in conference action.  In a climatic finish of game one, junior Steve Anspach of Lebanon Valley hit the game winning base hit to score senior Tommy Long in the bottom of the eighth inning.  Moravian, which had a chance to take the lead in the top of the eighth inning but left the bases loaded, scored its only run of the contest on an RBI single by sophomore outfielder Jeff Meila that scored senior shortstop Mike Gill in the fourth inning.  Gillwas four-for-four in the game and he added one hit in the second game, giving him 99 hits in his Moravian career.  Gill needs just one hit in his final six games to become the second Greyhound this season and only the fifth in school history surpass 100 career hits.  Senior Joe Pochron, who surpassed 100 career hits earlier this season, suffered the loss on the mound in the first game for the Greyhounds, allowing two earned runs on six hits with four walks and four strikeouts.  The second game started with a bang for Lebanon Valley as Anspach delivered a two-run homerun in the first inning.  The Flying Dutchmen added three more runs in the third inning.  The Greyhounds scored their lone run in the sixth inning as Pochron hit a sacrifice fly to score Gill, who had doubled.  Junior Randy Woolley suffered the loss for Moravian, allowing five runs, four earned, on ten hits and three walks.

Vs. Delaware Valley College – Cancelled

The Greyhounds had their Middle Atlantic Conference game with Delaware Valley College cancelled due to poor field conditions.  The game will not be rescheduled this season.

Vs. Susquehanna University – Won 4-2 & W 7-0

Senior Joe Pochron picked up the win on the mound and drove in the winning run with a bases loaded single in the first game and junior pitcher Randy Woolley tossed a three-hitter in the second contest to lead Moravian to a 4-2 & 7-0 doubleheader sweep of Susquehanna University in Commonwealth Conference action.  The sweep keeps the Greyhounds alive in the race for a Commonwealth Conference playoff berth.  Moravian is 5-5 in the Commonwealth Conference and in a three-way tie for fourth place.  On the mound in the first game, Pochron allowed two runs on four hits while striking out nine batters and walking seven.  The two runs were earned and were scored in the second inning.  At the plate, Pochron was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.  The Greyhounds cut Susquehanna’s 2-0 lead in half in the third inning when senior shortstop Mike Gill singled home junior outfielder Curtis Hoff.  Moravian would tie the game in the fourth inning when junior outfielder Bill Quinn crossed the plate on a double by sophomore first baseman Bob Frey.  Moravian would take the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth inning when Pochron connected for a single to score Gill and freshman second baseman Matthew Turtell.  Gill and Frey were both 2-for-3 in the contest.  In the second game, Woolley did not allow a runner past second base in the game and he retired the final seven batters of the contest.  Woolley had five strikeouts and walked just one batter and hit another.  Moravian got all the offense it would need in the first inning as Turtell scored on a single by sophomore outfielder Jeff Meila.  The Greyhounds would add three runs in the fourth inning on a two-RBI single by Gill and a steal of home by junior outfielder Michael Abbate.  The Hounds scored a run in the fifth inning on a squeeze bunt by sophomore third baseman Charlie Bowden scored Pochron.  Moravian’s final two runs came in the sixth inning on a steal of home by Gill and a RBI single by Pochron.  Gill was 2-for-2 in the game while Meila was 2-for-3 and Pochron was 2-for-4.  With his four hits on the afternoon, Gill moved within six hits of becoming the fifth Moravian player to collect 100 hits in a career, and the third to achieve that mark in the last two seasons.

Vs. Susquehanna University – Postponed until April 17th

For the sixth time this month, the Greyhounds have had to postpone a baseball game, this time pushing back one day a scheduled Commonwealth Conference twinbill with Susquehanna University due to poor field conditions.  The games will now be played on Tuesday, April 17th beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Vs. University of Scranton – Cancelled

Due to weather and poor field conditions, Moravian cancelled its Middle Atlantic Conference doubleheader with the University of Scranton.  The twinbill will not be played this season.

Vs. Centenary (NJ) College – Cancelled

Moravian has cancelled its home game with the Centenary (NJ) College club team on Wednesday, April 18th to reschedule a game with Delaware Valley College.

At Delaware Valley College – Postponed to April 18th

The Greyhounds' have had their second straight outing postponed by rain as Moravian has its game with Delaware Valley rescheduled for Wednesday, April 18th.  There has been a site change in the make-up game as the contest will now be played at Moravian beginning at 3:00 p.m.

At Drew University – Postponed to April 22nd

The Greyhounds' doubleheader at Drew University for Sunday, April 8th has been postponed and will played on Sunday, April 22nd in Madison, NJ at 1:00 p.m.

At Widener University – Won 3-1 & Lost 5-1

Senior Joe Pochron tossed a five-hitter with six strikeouts for his second straight win to lead the Moravian College baseball team to a 3-1 victory over Widener University in the first game of a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader.  The Pioneers rebounded to take the second game, 5-1, on a three-hit, five-strikeout performance by Doug Feight.  The Greyhounds tied the first game at 1-1 in the fourth inning when Pochron reached on an error and scored on a single by sophomore outfielder Jeff Meila.  Moravian would push two runs across in the top of the seventh inning when Meila reached on a single and sophomore first baseman Bob Frey reached on a fielder’s choice.  Sophomore third baseman Charlie Bowden singled to load the bases before junior outfield Michael Abbate singled to score freshman Greg Peters, who had pinch run for Meila.  Senior shortstop Mike Gill hit a sacrifice fly to score Frey and give Pochron an insurance run.  Pochron allowed two walks on the mound while allowing the five hits in his third victory of the season.  Meila and Bowden were both 2-for-3 in the contest.  In the second contest, Widener jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first four innings before the Greyhounds would get their lone run on the contest in the seventh inning.  Pochron singled with one out and scored on a single by junior outfielder Bill Quinn.  Pochron was 2-for-3 in the game.  Junior Randy Woolley suffered his third loss of the season, falling to 2-3, after allowing nine hits and five earned runs in five innings.  Peters allowed two hits in the sixth inning in relief but did not allow a run.

Vs. University of Scranton – Postponed to April 12th

The Greyhounds' doubleheader with the University of Scranton for Sunday, April 1st has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 12th beginning at 1:00 p.m. in Bethlehem.

Vs. Lehigh University – Lost 9-6

The Greyhounds jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning and a 5-0 margin after two and a half innings but Moravian couldn't hold the lead as the Greyhounds fell to NCAA Division I Lehigh University, 9-6.  Moravian had eight hits in the game with two off the bat of sophomore first baseman Bob Frey including a double.  Junior outfielder Michael Abbate also had a double and scored two of the Greyhounds' six runs while sophomore third baseman Charlie Bowden drove in two runs for Moravian.  Frey, senior shortstop Mike Gill and freshman second baseman Matthew Turtell each had RBIs in the game  The Greyhounds used three pitchers in the game with sophomore Ryan Boyle taking the loss.  Junior Curtis Hoff pitched the first 2 2/3 innings while freshman Matt Erney tossed the final two innings.  The Greyhound pitchers allowed the Mountain Hawks 14 hits with a double, three triples and a pair of homeruns.

Vs. Juniata College – Won 4-1 & Lost 2-1

Senior pitcher Joe Pochron struck out a career high 11 batters in the first game and he scored the winning run as Moravian split a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader with Juniata College Monday winning the first game 4-1 and falling 2-1 in the night cap.  Juniata’s Clint Wevodau tossed a three-hitter in the second game.  In the first contest, Moravian would tie the game in the bottom of the first inning when Eagle pitcher junior Tim Keeley walked sophomore Jeff Meila with two outs and the bases loaded.  Keeley would also get out of the jam by striking out the next batter.  The Greyhounds would strike for three runs in the third inning with Pochron leading off the inning with a double.  After a walk to freshman second baseman Matthew Turtell, a wild pitch and a pop out, Meila hit a single to score Pochron and Turtell.  Meila would score on a ground out by sophomore third baseman Charlie Bowden.  Pochron would leave three Juniata runners on base in three different innings.  The Greyhounds would tie the second game with a run off Wevodau, who pitched the final three innings of the first game in addition to the complete second game, in the fourth inning.  Pochron led off with a double and moved to third on a passed ball.  Turtell hit a deep sacrifice fly to left field to plate Pochron.  Junior Randy Woolley suffered the loss on the mound for Moravian, allowing eight hits and two earned runs with three strikeouts and no walks.

Vs. Juniata College – Postponed to April 2nd

The Greyhounds' doubleheader with Juniata College has been postponed for a second straight day until Monday, April 2nd due to field conditions and the weather forecast at Moravian.

At Ursinus College – Lost 13-3 (8 innings)

The Greyhounds jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning but couldn't hold on as Moravian fell to Ursinus College, 13-3 in eight innings.  Junior outfielder Michael Abbate scored on a wild pitch, freshman second baseman Matthew Turtell scored on a delayed steal of home and senior outfielder Joe Pochron crossed the plate on a double by junior third baseman Bill Quinn.  The only Moravian player with multiple hits in the game was senior shortstop Mike Gill with two singles and a walk.  Sophomore pitcher Ryan Boyle suffered the loss for Moravian, pitching 5 1/3 innings and allowing five runs on six hits, one walk, one hit batter and two strikeouts.

At Kutztown University of Pennsylvania – Lost 17-0 (7 innings)

The Greyhounds suffered their worst loss of the season at NCAA Division II Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, falling by a count of 17-0 in seven innings.  Moravian managed just one hit in the contest, an infield single by freshman second baseman Matthew Turtell.  However, the Kutztown pitching staff made up for the no-hitter being broken up in the sixth inning by picking Turtell off first on the next pitch.  Sophomore pitcher Jerry Coveney took the loss for the Greyhounds. 

Vs. King's College – Lost 4-2 (9 innings) & Won 3-2

Sophomore first baseman Jeff Meila went 2-for-3 in the second game and drove in the winning run to lead the Greyhounds to a 3-2 win in the second game and a split of a Middle Atlantic Conference doubleheader with King’s College.  The Monarchs won the first game, 4-2, in nine innings after the contest was tied 0-0 at the end of the regulation seven innings.  In game one, the Greyhounds scored two runs in the bottom of the inning on RBI singles by junior outfielder Bill Quinn and sophomore designated hitter Bob Frey with two outs.  Quinn was 2-for-3 with a double in the game while sophomore third baseman Charlie Bowden was 2-for-4.  In the second contest, the Greyhounds jumped on the board in the bottom of the first inning on a bases-loaded walk by Quinn.  Moravian would add another run in the second inning on a ground out by senior shortstop Mike Gill that scored sophomore second baseman Luke Bricker.  Meila drove in junior outfielder Michael Abbate on in the bottom of the fourth inning.  Moravian freshman Matt Erney earned the first win of his career on the mound in the second game while freshman Brett Porter, who suffered the loss in the first game in relief, notched his first collegiate save.

At Elizabethtown College – Lost 6-5 & Lost 5-4

The Greyhounds dropped both ends of a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader at Elizabethtown College, losing in the bottom of the seventh in both contests, 6-5 and 5-4.  In the top of the first inning of game one for the Greyhounds, senior outfielder Joe Pochron ripped a two-out double to drive in a pair of runs.  The hit was the 100th of Pochron’s career, making him just the fourth player in Moravian College baseball history to surpass 100 hits in a career.  Pochron finished the game with two hits.  Freshman second baseman Matthew Turtell was three-for-four in the game.  Pochron suffered the loss on the mound.  Sophomore outfielder/catcher Jeff Meila and freshman outfielder David Darmofal each had two hits in the second game for the Greyhounds.  Freshman Greg Peters took the loss on the mound after replacing junior Randy Woolley.

Vs. Haverford College – Lost 8-4

The Greyhounds fell behind 6-0 after the first inning and a half and couldn't recover, stranding 12 runners on base in an 8-4 non-conference loss to Haverford College.  Moravian did pound out 11 hits in the game with two each from senior shortstop Mike Gill, sophomore designated hitter Bob Frey and freshman third baseman Matthew Turtell.  Frey had a triple in the game that drove in one run while freshman catcher Geoffrey Deen added a double.  Junior Joe Dente suffered the loss on the mound for the Greyhounds, lasting just 1 1/3 innings.  Sophomore Ryan Boyle tossed 6 2/3 strong innings in relief with six strikeouts and just two runs, six hits and two walks. 

Vs. Haverford College – Postponed until March 23rd

The Greyhounds' non-conference game with Haverford College has been postponed one day until Friday, March 23rd due to poor field conditions after Wednesday's rain. 

Vs. Muhlenberg College – Lost 6-1

Muhlenberg College pitcher Joshua Carter limited the Greyhounds to just four hits while the Moravian defense allowed three unearned runs with four errors as Moravian lost a non-conference game to rival Muhlenberg, 6-1. Carter allowed the Greyhounds just an unearned in the second inning.  Moravian sophomore third baseman Charlie Bowden got on base on a fielder’s choice with one out and moved to second when Carter’s pickoff attempt bounced out of play.  Bowden would score on a single by freshman second baseman Matthew Turtell but Turtell was thrown out trying to stretch the hit into a double to end the Moravian threat.  In addition to Turtell's hit, Bowden, junior designated hitter Bill Quinn and senior shortstop Mike Gill each had hits for the Greyhounds.  Moravian used four pitchers in the contest, three freshmen, with freshman Brett Porter suffering the loss after allowing four runs, two of them earned on four hits in the first three innings of the game.  Sophomore Ryan Boyle tossed two innings and allowed one run on three hits while freshman Matt Erney gave up just two hits in two innings of work.  Freshman Greg Peters worked the last two innings of the game and allowed one run on three hits.

Vs. Messiah College – Lost 4-2 & Won 3-1

Senior shortstop Mike Gill drove in two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to give the Moravian College baseball team a 2-1 lead in a 3-1 victory in the second contest of a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader with Messiah College.  The Falcons won the first game of the Commonwealth Conference season opener for both schools, 4-2.  Trailing 1-0 in the second game, Moravian sophomore third baseman Charlie Bowden led off the fifth inning with a single and moved over to second on a sacrifice by freshman second baseman Matthew Turtell.  After an out, junior outfielder Michael Abbate drew a walk before Gill’s hit.  Gill dropped the ball down the left field line to score Bowden and Abbate.  Gill moved to third as the Messiah left fielder threw home.  Gill would score as senior Joe Pochron singled.  Junior Randy Woolley earned the victory on the mound, allowing an unearned run on four hits, no walks and six strikeouts.  Pochron suffered the loss on the mound in the first game as Moravian gave up four unearned runs in the 4-2 loss.  Sophomore outfielder Jeff Meila drove in both Moravian runs with a single in the fourth inning.

At Kutztown University of Pennsylvania – Postponed until March 27, 2001

Due to rain and field conditions, Moravian's first Northern game this season versus NCAA Division II Kutztown University of Pennsylvania has been postponed until Tuesday, March 27th at 3:00 p.m. in Kutztown.

Vs. Bluffton (OH) College at Eastern Mennonite Sarasota Spring Break Classic – Won 6-3

The Greyhounds closed out their trip to Florida with a 4-4 record after a 6-3 win over Bluffton (OH) College in the final game of the Eastern Mennonite Sarasota Spring Break Classic.  Senior shortstop Mike Gill paced the Greyhounds in the game with a two-run double and a two-run homerun in the first inning.  Junior Randy Woolley picked up his first win of the season on the mound allowing four walks and striking out nine batters.  Junior Bill Quinn and freshman catcher Geoffery Deen each drove in runs with Deen collecting two hits with a double. 

Vs. Kenyon (OH) College at Eastern Mennonite Sarasota Spring Break Classic – Lost 4-1

Moravian dropped its second game of the Eastern Mennonite Sarasota Spring Break Classic to Kenyon (OH) College by the identical score of the first game, 4-1.  Junior outfielder Bill Quinn had the Greyhounds only hit, a solo homerun in the fourth inning.  The shot was Quinn's second homer of the season.  Senior Joe Pochron suffered the loss on the mound despite allowing only three hits.  Pochron did walk six batters while striking out two.  Moravian committed four errors in the game which gave Kenyon two unearned runs. 

Vs. Eastern Mennonite (VA) University at EMU Sarasota Spring Break Classic – Lost 6-5

Eastern Mennonite (VA) University's Mike Gale connected on a two-run homerun in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Eastern Mennonite a 6-5 win and a split of the doubleheader played at the Eastern Mennonite Sarasota Spring Break Classic with the Greyhounds.  Junior designated hitter Bill Quinn had hit his first homerun of the season, a solo shot earlier in the game and senior shortstop Mike Gill had two hits with a double but it wasn't enough for the Greyhounds.  Moravian freshman Matt Erney tossed 4 2/3 innings with six hits, four runs, two earned runs, two walks and one strikeout in his first collegiate start. 

Vs. Eastern Mennonite (VA) University at EMU Sarasota Spring Break Classic – Won 12-2

Junior outfielder Michael Abbate, sophomores first baseman Bob Frey, designated hitter Jeff Meila and freshman second baseman Matthew Turtell each had two hits and a double to lead the Greyhounds to a 12-2 victory over Eastern Mennonite (VA) University in the Eastern Mennonite Sarasota Spring Break Classic.  Meila drove in three runs while Abbate and Frey each scored twice.  Senior shortstop Mike Gill crossed the plate three times in the contest.  Freshman Brett Porter picked up his first win of the season, allowing just two hits with one walk and one strikeout. 

Vs. Bluffton (OH) College at Eastern Mennonite Sarasota Spring Break Classic – Won 8-5

Junior outfielder Michael Abbate and sophomore third baseman Charlie Bowden each had three hits and combined to steal three bases as the Greyhounds evened their season record with an 8-5 win over Bluffton (OH) College in the Eastern Mennonite Sarasota Spring Break Classic.  Bowden had two RBIs and a double as did freshman sophomore baseman Bob Frey.  Senior shortstop Mike Gill added two RBIs and a stolen base while sophomore catcher Jeff Meila had two hits and a double.  Moravian used four pitchers in the game with freshman Greg Peters working a scoreless final three innings for the win. 

Vs. Kenyon (OH) College at Eastern Mennonite Sarasota Spring Break Classic – Lost 4-1

The Greyhounds dropped a 4-1 decision to Kenyon (OH) College in the second day of the Eastern Mennonite Sarasota Spring Break Classic.  Junior outfielder Bill Quinn had two hits for Moravian in the loss.  Junior pitcher Curtis Hoff suffered the loss on the mound despite not allowing an earned run.  The four runs Moravian allowed all came off of four Moravian errors.  Hoff gave up four hits and two walks while striking out three in four innings.  Sophomore Ryan Boyle allowed just three hits and a walk with one strikeout in three innings of relief. 

Vs. Juniata College at Eastern Mennonite Sarasota Spring Break Classic – Won 15-5

Sophomore catcher Jeff Meila connected on a pair of homeruns and sophomore first baseman Bob Frey add another homer as the Greyhounds earned a doubleheader split with Juniata College, winning the second game 15-5 at the Eastern Mennonite Sarasota Spring Break Classic in Sarasota, Florida.  Meila had three hits and three RBIs while Frey's only hit in the game was his three-run homerun.  Senior shortstop Mike Gill added three hits, two RBIs and a double while junior outfielder Michael Abbate and sophomore third baseman Charlie Bowden each had two hits and a double.  Senior Joe Pochron picked up his first win on the mound in over a year with seven hits, six strikeouts and three walks in five innings of work.  Pochron was the Greyhounds' tough luck pitcher in 2000, losing all six of his decisions.  Freshman Matt Erney gave up two hits and added one strikeout in one inning of action.

Vs. Juniata College at Eastern Mennonite Sarasota Spring Break Classic – Lost 6-1

Senior outfielder Joe Pochron went four-for-four to open the season while senior shortstop Mike Gill and sophomore third baseman Charlie Bowden each collected two hits but it wasn't enough as the Greyhounds dropped their season opener to Juniata College, 6-1, in the first game of the Eastern Mennonite Sarasota Spring Break Classic in Sarasota, Florida.  Junior Randy Woolley tossed five innings in the loss with one walk and no strikeouts while freshman Brett Porter allowed one hit in one inning of work.
