Junior forward Chris Hayn led the Greyhounds with 16 points and nine rebounds but it wasnt enough as Moravian fell to Messiah College, 82-68, in MAC Commonwealth Conference action. The loss knocked Moravian out of the Middle Atlantic Conference playoff race and ended the squads 1999-2000 season. Junior guard David Jordan had 14 points and seven rebounds in the game while freshman guard Kevin Hall netted 11 points. Freshman forward Ken Greb scored eight points and also pulled down eight rebounds in the contest. Senior Jim ORourke had eight points in his final game while senior guard Rich Whalen added seven points.
Vs. Elizabethtown College Won 76-68
Senior center Jim ORourke scored a team high 14 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Greyhounds to a 76-68 victory over Elizabethtown College in MAC Commonwealth Conference action. The win kept Moravian alive for a spot in the Middle Atlantic Conference playoffs. Junior guard/forward David Jordan added 12 points while freshman guard Kevin Hall and junior forward Chris Hayn each scored 11 points. Hayn also had six rebounds while senior guard Rich Whalen had nine points, five assists and seven steals. The contest was the final home game for Moravians four seniors, ORourke, Whalen, guard Justin Potts and guard Pete Bilinsky. Potts had five assists and two steals in the game while Bilinsky tied his career high with six points.
Vs. Lebanon Valley College Won 81-79
Freshman guard Kevin Hall scored a career high 18 points to lead the Greyhounds in a 81-79 victory over Lebanon Valley in MAC Commonwealth Conference action and keep Moravian in the hunt for a Middle Atlantic Conference playoff spot. Hall also pulled down a career best four rebounds while senior center Jim ORourke had a double-double with 17 points and a team high 11 rebounds. Junior forward Chris Hayn scored 16 points while senior guard Rich Whalen had nine points, seven steals and five assists. Senior guard Justin Potts also had five assists in the win while junior guard/forward David Jordan had eight points and six rebounds. Freshman forward Ken Greb tied a career high with eight rebounds and he scored seven points.
At Albright College Lost 87-76
The Greyhounds fell behind 13-0 in the first seven minutes of the game before scoring and the closest the squad would get would be five points in a 87-76 loss to Albright College in MAC Commonwealth Conference action. Junior guard/foward David Jordan scored a career high 27 points including 25 points in the second half. Sophomore guard Doug Spadt added 13 points while junior forward Chris Hayn and senior center Jim O'Rourke each scored 11 points. O'Rourke had five rebounds and Jordan added four boards as Moravian was out-rebounded 39-21 in the game.

Junior forward Chris Hayn again led Moravian in scoring with 19 points in a 79-66 loss to Wilkes University in Middle Atlantic Conference non-league action. Hayn also had six rebounds. Junior guard/forward David Jordan was the only other Greyhound to score in double figures in the game, netting 18 points to go along with a team high eight rebounds. Senior center Jim ORourke added seven points and six rebounds while freshman guard Kevin Hall added seven points.
At Susquehanna University Won 80-77 (overtime)
Junior forward Chris Hayn scored a career best 25 points and was 10-of-10 from the foul line to lead the Greyhounds to a come-from-behind 80-77 overtime victory at Susquehanna University in MAC Commonwealth Conference action. Hayn also had a team high seven rebounds in the game. Senior center Jim ORourke also scored a career high 18 points and added six rebounds while junior guard/forward David Jordan had 12 points. Sophomore guard Doug Spadt added 15 points off the bench and senior guard Justin Potts grabbed a career best six rebounds in his second start of the season. Moravian won the game at the foul line with a 24-of-27 performance.
At Juniata College Won 57-55
Junior forward Chris Hayn led the Greyhounds with 13 points and seven rebounds in a 57-55 victory over Juniata College in MAC Commonwealth Conference action. Moravian led 55-45 with 4:30 to play and held off a pair of three-point attempts by the Eagles in the final 15 seconds. Junior guard/forward David Jordan tossed in 11 points while senior guard Rich Whalen had ten points and three steals. Sophomore guard Doug Spadt contributed nine points and four rebounds while senior center Jim ORourke had seven points, three assists and two steals. The victory was the 260th of head coach Jim Walkers career at Moravian and his 275th victory overall.

Junior forward Chris Hayn added 17 points and six rebounds while senior center Jim ORourke added a double-double with 11 rebounds and 10 points. Sophomore guard Doug Spadt had nine points and five rebounds while senior guard Rich Whalen has seven assists and five steals.

Vs. Gettysburg College in 22nd Annual Greyhound Nike Classic Lost 75-60
The Greyhounds had their nine-game winning streak in the Greyhound Classic snapped with a 75-60 loss to Gettysburg College in the championship game of the 22nd Annual Greyhound Nike Classic. The Greyhounds were trying for their fifth straight title. Junior forward Chris Hayn and senior guard Rich Whalen were the only two Moravian players to score in double figures in the championship contest with Hayn netting a career best 14 points and contributing five rebounds while Whalen added ten points and a career high nine rebounds. The pair was named to the All-Tournament Team. Junior guard/forward David Jordan and senior center Jim ORourke each had nine points in the game while sophomore guard Doug Spadt had eight points. Jordan added a team high five assists in the game.
Vs. Swarthmore College in 22nd Annual Greyhound Nike Classic Won 71-54
In the first game of the 22nd Annual Greyhound Nike Classic, Moravian defeated Swarthmore College, 71-54, to advance to the championship game of the tournament for the fifth straight year. Junior guard David Jordan led the Hounds with 14 points. Freshman guard Kevin Hall scored a career high 12 points in just nine minutes of action in the game. Freshman forward Ken Greb and senior center Jim ORourke each also had 12 points in the game. Greb led Moravian with six rebounds while junior forward Chris Hayn had five rebounds and eight points. Senior guard Rich Whalen had just two points in the win but added three assists, four steals and a tournament record seven steals.
Vs. Muhlenberg College Won 90-59
Sophomore guard Doug Spadt and senior center Jim ORourke each set new career highs in points in the impressive victory over Muhlenberg, 90-59, to end the first part of the season. Spadt netted 17 points and connected on seven of nine field goal attempts. The only two shots Spadt missed were three-pointers. As a team in the game, the Greyhounds posted a perfect night from the foul line with 15 made free throws in 15 attempts. ORourke posted 16 points for the Greyhounds and had a team high five rebounds. All five starters scored in double figures for Moravian while the six reserves that scored all had four points in the game. Senior guard Rich Whalen netted 12 points and added five assists while junior guard/forward David Jordan had 11 points. Junior forward Chris Hayn tied ORourke with five rebounds and also scored ten points. Freshman forward Ken Greb had four points in the game as did sophomore guard Bruce DeLauder, freshman guard Kevin Hall, senior guard Pete Bilinsky, senior guard Justin Potts and sophomore forward Mike Frew.

Vs. University of Scranton Won 70-68
Moravian junior guard forward David Jordan sank two free throws with eight seconds left on the clock and sophomore guard Doug Spadt blocked a shot by Scanton's Pat Donohue with one second remaining to lift the Greyhounds to a 70-68 victory over the Royals in Middle Atlantic Conference action Monday. Moravian, which had five players in double figures and a sixth with nine points, let a 21-point lead slip away in the second half. The Greyhounds were up 49-28 at the 14:58 mark of the second half after a 38-22 halftime advantage only to see Scranton tie the game at 64-64 with 3:27 remaining. Senior center Jim O'Rourke led Moravian with 14 points and eight rebounds. Senior guard Rich Whalen nearly had a quadruple-double with 13 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds and seven steals. Spadt had 13 points and seven rebounds in the game while Jordan added 11 points. Freshman forward Ken Greb netted 10 points and added seven rebounds while junior forward Chris Hayn had nine points and seven boards.
Vs. Juniata College Won 69-48
Sophomore guard Doug Spadt scored 13 points and senior center Jim ORourke had 11 points and six rebounds to lead the Greyhounds to 69-48 victory over Juniata College in the tams first home game of the season. Senior guard Rich Whalen and junior guard/forward David Jordan each had nine points in the game. Whalen added five steals and three assists while freshman Ken Greb had six rebounds.
At Widener University Lost 60-47
Senior guard Rich Whalen and junior guard/forward David Jordan each scored 11 points but it wasnt enough as the Greyhounds fell to Widener University, 60-47, in the first MAC Commonwealth Conference game of the season for both schools. The Pioneers limited Moravian to just six points in the first 16 minutes of the game and held a 29-18 lead at the half. Senior center Jim ORourke pulled down a career high 12 rebounds in the loss for the Hounds.
At Allentown College Lost 76-66
The Hounds suffered a 76-66 loss to Allentown College. Freshman forward Ken Greb (led Moravian with 15 points and seven rebounds. Junior guard/forward David Jordan scored 13 points while senior guard Rich Whalen and sophomore Doug Spadt each scored 12 points in the loss. Whalen added four assists while Spadt had four rebounds as did senior center Jim ORourke. ORourke scored six points before fouling out of the contest. Freshman Kevin Hall added four points and two rebounds off the bench for Moravian.
At Muhlenberg College at Scotty Wood Tournament Lost 78-73
The Greyhounds fell in the championship game of the Scotty Wood Tournament to the host Mules 78-73. Moravian tied the game at 33-33 just before halftime on a jumper by junior guard/forward David Jordan. However, the Greyhounds were outscored 45-40 in the second half. Jordan, who was named to the All-Tournament Team, scored a career high 26 points to led Moravian, which again had four players in double-figures. Jordan connected on five three-pointers in the game to tie the Scotty Wood Tournament record of nine three pointers in the two games. He also led Moravian with seven rebounds in the contest. Freshman forward Ken Greb and sophomore guard Doug Spadt each had 11 points against Muhlenberg with Spadt adding four rebounds and Greb had three boards. Spadt was also named to the All-Tournament Team for Moravian. Senior guard Rich Whalen hit double figures in the game with ten points and a team leading five assists while junior forward Chris Hayn had six points and five rebounds.
Vs. University of Dallas (TX) at Scotty Wood Tournament Won 83-62
The Greyhounds began the 1999-2000 season with an 83-62 victory over the University of Dallas, Texas in the first round of the Scotty Wood Tournament. Moravian used a balanced scoring attack in the win. Sophomore guard Doug Spadt led a quartet of players in double-figures with 16 points. Spadt had four three-pointers, three assists, five rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot in the game. Junior guard David Jordan added 15 points, three rebounds and three steals in the game. Jordan also connected on four three pointers in the contest. Junior forward Chris Hayn had 12 points, tying his career high set at the Scotty Wood Tournament two years ago, and a pair of three-pointers while senior center Jim ORourke had ten points and two blocked shots. Moravian had an outstanding night as a team from the floor, connecting on 52.7 percent of its field goals and 52.2 percent of its three pointers.
