The 2008-2009 Moravian College men’s basketball team posted an overall record of 10-15 and a 5-9 slate in the second year of the Landmark Conference. Head coach Jim Walker has a record of 373-331 in 29 years at Moravian College and an overall record of 397-357 in his 29th season as a head coach.
Junior forward Eric Weaver (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) led the greyhounds averaging 13.3 points per game to go along with 18 steaks, 34 assists and 125 rebounds. Weaver also led the team in free throw percentage, shooting 112-135 for 83%. Sophomore guard Maurice Young (Philadelphia, PA/Chestnut Hill Academy) averaged 11.3 points per game with 35 assists, 68 rebounds and a team leading 34 steals.
Freshmen guard Sergio Camacho (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) averaged 10.3 points per game to go along with 23 steals, 33 assists, and 42 rebounds. Camacho led the team from beyond the arc hitting 49 three-pointers in his first season as a greyhound. Sophomore forward Chris Cullen (East Islip, NY/East Islip) contributed 201 points on the season while grabbing 95 rebounds, 16 steals and 18 blocks. Charlie Rigoglioso (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) put up 197 points, 29 steals, 30 assists and 68 rebounds in his first year with the greyhounds.

Freshmen guard/forward Nelson Leon (Reading, PA/Reading) recorded 114 points, 23 assists, seven blocks and 69 rebounds in his first collegiate season while freshmen forward Jeff Cullinan (Bridgewater, NJ/Immaculata) posted 82 points and 36 rebounds on the year. Freshmen guard Shane Painter (Bedminster, NJ/Bernards) knocked down 84 points, ten steals, 12 assists and 53 rebounds while sophomore forward Alvin Adams (Newark, NJ/Marist) contributed 66 points, nine steals, 93 rebounds and a team leading 22 blocks.
In his final season as a greyhound, senior forward Dave Bowden (Beachwood, NJ/Toms River South) put up 77 points, 20 steals, three blocks, 64 rebounds and a team leading 37 assists. Junior forward Joseph Munley (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) recorded 36 points, seven steals, 12 assists and 49 rebounds while sophomore guard Ryan O’Donnell (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) had 19 points, four steals, 11 assists and 14 rebounds. Freshmen guard/forward Mark Koelbel (Bayport, NY/Bayport-Blue Point) contributed ten points and seven rebounds in limited action in his first year as a greyhound.
Weaver, Munley, Cullen and O’Donnell all made the 2009 Winter Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll.
