2004 Review

The 2004 Moravian College men’s cross country team finished the season with a tenth place finish at the 2004 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships and a 22nd place showing at the Mideast Regional under the direction of head coach Mark Will-Weber.

Junior Greg Rarick (Drums, PA/Hazleton HS) had his best time at the 2004 NCAA Mideast Regional leading the Greyhounds with 27:40.00. Rarick led the team in this race finishing 66th, and the 2004 MAC Championships finishing 35th. Senior Patrick Grogan (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame HS) finished 37th in the MAC Championships and 96th in the Regional meet. His best time this year was 27:52.00 at the LaSalle Invitational.

Junior William Shimer (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty HS) placed 61st at the conference meet and 106th in the regional. He had a time of 28:21.00 at the 2004 NCAA Mideast Regional being his best time this season. Sophomore Jared Casciole (Easton, PA/Notre Dame HS) placed 162nd at the regional meet and 58th in the MAC Championships. Casciole’s best time was at at the MAC Championships with 29:22.00. Junior Russell Zaleski (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough HS) placed 155th in the regional meet and 71st in the MAC Championships. His best time was 29:22.00 in the 2004 NCAA Mideast Regional.

Other competitors for the Greyhounds in the MAC Championship meet included senior Aditya Kahanna (Mumbai, India) in 122nd place, sophomore Eric Kratz (Parsippany, NJ/ Parsippany Hills HS) in 119th place, freshman Timothy Pagano (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West HS) in 86th place and freshman Erik Boyer (North Wales, PA/North Penn HS) in 87th place.

Moravian had two student-athletes named to the 2004 Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation Fall Academic Honor Roll including Rarick and Shimer.
