2007 Review

The 2007 Moravian College men’s cross country team, under the direction of second-year coach Welles Lobb, placed seventh at the inaugural Landmark Conference championships and 27th at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional.

Leading the Greyhounds was freshman Connor Skutches (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty HS), who recorded his best time of the season, 26:38, at the 2007 NCAA Mideast Regional where he placed 65th. Junior Jeremiah Reinhart (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley HS) posted his best time of the year of 27:03 at the 34th annual Brooks Paul Short Run where he placed 38th out of 270 runners. Reinhart, pictured at right, earned Landmark All-Conference First Team honors with a a sixth place finish in a time of 28:35 while Skutches was named to the Landmark All-Conference Second Team with a 12th place finish in 28:59.

Senior Timothy Pagano (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West HS) has his best time of the year also at the 2007 NCAA Mideast Regional where he set a time of 27:45, while sophomore Steve Parisi (Kunkletown, PA/Pleasant Valley) also set his best time at the 2007 NCAA Mideast Regional with a pace of 28:10. Sophomore Steve DeFazio (Branchburg, NJ/Somerville HS) and freshman Jesse Miller (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) both recorded their best times at the 2007 NCAA Mideast Regional as well with DeFazio recording a 28:30 time and Miller running a time of 29:14. Parisi was 44th at the Landmark Conference meet while DeFazio placed 45th and Miller was 48th.

Also running this year for the Greyhound were senior Khizer Tariq (Bethlehem, PA/Saucon Valley HS), juniors John McCullough (Levittown, PA/Conwell-Egan HS) and Jacob Tazik (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing), sophomores Tim Betz (Havertown, PA/Haverford HS), and Kevin Yarzab (Andover, NJ/Newton HS) and freshman Joseph Reynolds (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty HS). Pagano, Tariq, Betz and Yarzab all ran at the Landmark Conference Championships for Moravian.

Pagano, McCullough, and DeFazio were all named to the 2007 Fall Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll.
