At 2008 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional hosted by Waynesburg College - 23rd of 43 - Moravian Individual Results - Complete Meet Results

Moravian closed out the 2008 season with a 23rd place finish of 43 schools at the 2008 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional hosted by Waynesburg College. Carnegie Mellon University won the meet with 37 points while Moravian posted a team score of 674 points.  Senior Jeremiah Reinhart paced the Greyhounds with an 88th place finish of 306 competitors in a time of 27:33 on the 8,000-meter course.  Freshman Matt Lutcza was 109th in a time of 27:52 for Moravian while sophomore Connor Skutches finished 120th in 28:02. Rounding out the Greyhounds’ top five were freshman Peter Rovtar taking 182nd in 29:07 and freshman Zach Rivenbark in 189th place with a time of 29:18.  Moravian had two other runners compete with junior Steve DeFazio taking 212th in 29:48 and sophomore Jesse Miller finishing 229th in 30:12.

At 2008 Landmark Conference Championships at Fort Roberdeau hosted by Juniata College - 3rd of 8 - Moravian Individual Results - Complete Meet Results

The Greyhounds placed third of eight schools at the 2008 Landmark Conference Championships hosted by Juniata College at the Fort Roberdeau Historic Site in Altoona. Moravian had a team score of 87 points while Susquehanna won the conference title with 41 points and the host Eagles were second with 47 points. The Greyhounds had two All-Conference runners with sophomore Connor Skutches earning Landmark All-Conference First Team honors with a seventh place finish of 82 runners on the 8,000-meter course in a time of 27:39.4. Senior Jeremiah Reinhart was just four seconds behind Skutches at 27:43.6 to place eighth and earn a spot on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team. Rounding out Moravian's top five runners were freshman Matthew Lutcza in 16th place in a time fo 28:13.2, freshman Peter Rovtar in 31st position in 29:13.1 and junior Steve DeFazio in 34th place at 29:22.2. The Greyhounds had five other runners compete in the meet with freshman Zach Rivenbark finished 36th in a time of 29:36.3, junior Timothy Betz at 49th in 30:20.6, sophomore Jessie Miller taking 50th in 30:22.9, sophomore Jacob Tazik in 64th place in a time of 31:08.8 and freshman Jonathan Gutierrez finishing 74th at 32:54.7.

At Pete Nevins Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania - 4th of 10 - Moravian Individual Results - Complete Meet Results

Moravian finished fourth of ten teams at the Pete Nevins Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. The meet is named for long-time East Stroudsburg Sports Information Director Pete Nevins, who passed away in January 2006. The Greyhounds posted a team score of 121 while the host Warriors won the meet with 36 points. Senior Jeremiah Reinhart paced Moravian on the 5,000-meter course with a fifth place finish in a time of 16:36 among the 76 runners in the meet. Freshman Zach Riverbark took 20th place in a time of 17:49 while sophomore Jacob Tazik was 30th in 18:31. Also competing for the Greyhounds were sophomore Jesse Miller, who was 35th in a time of 18:42, freshman Jon Gutierrez, who placed 40th in 18:55, and senior John McCullough, who took 48th place in 19:37.

At Juniata College Eagle Invitational at Fort Roberdeau - 4th of 11 - Moravian Individual Results - Complete Meet Results

The Greyhounds placed fourth of 11 teams at the Juniata College Eagle Invitational run at Fort Roberdeau in Blair County. Moravian posted a team score of 100 points while Elizabethtown College captured first place with 29 points. Sophomore Connor Skutches led the Greyhounds with a fourth place finish of 106 runners on the 7,500-meter course in a time of 25:47, which was a course record for a sophomore. Senior Jeremiah Reinhart took 14th for Moravian in 26:05.9 while freshman Matthew Lutcza finished the course in a time of 26:08.8 to place 16th. Rounding out the Greyhounds' top five were freshman Pete Rovtar in 43rd place in 27:44.3 and junior Steve Parisi at 46th overall in a time of 27:59.5. Moravian had three other runners compete with junior Steve DeFazio placing 48th in 28:04.7, junior Timothy Betz at 53rd in 28:16.6 and sophomore Jacob Tazik taking 65th in a time of 29:13.9.

At 35th Annual Brooks Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University - 19th of 41 (White) - Moravian Individual Results - Complete Meet Results (White) - Complete Meet Results (JV)

Moravian finished 19th of 41 schools in the white division at the 35th Annual Brooks Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University. The Greyhounds had 524 points in the race while Ithaca College won the white invitational with 97 points. The meet, which draws the top teams from around the country, features a brown division, a white division and a junior varsity race since teams can only enter seven runners in the two scored divisions. Sophomore Connor Skutches paced Moravian with a time of 26:49 on the 8,000-meter course to place 33rd of the 270 runners in the white division. Freshman Matthew Lutcza was 71st overall in a time of 27:30 while senior Jeremiah Reinhart placed 119th in 28:10. Freshman Peter Rovtar took 128th place in 28:21 while junior Steven DeFazio finished 173rd in a time of 29:05. Also competing in the white division for the Greyhounds was sophomore Timothy Betz, who was 178th in 29:10. Moravian also had five competitors in the junior varsity 8,000-meter race let by junior Steve Parisi, who placed 328th of 434 runners in a time of 29:17. Sophomore Jacob Tazik took 367th in 30:10 while freshman Steve Ambrosi was 395th in 31:17, senior John McCullough placed 414th in a time of 32:14 and freshman Jonathan Gutierrez took 419th in 32:41.

At Cougar Classic hosted by Misericordia University - 4th of 9 - Moravian Individual Results - Complete Meet Results

Moravian finished fourth of nine schools at the 2008 Cougar Classic hosted by Misericordia University. The Greyhounds had a team score of 96 points, just one point behind Landmark Conference rival the University of Scranton. Ithaca College won the meet with a team score of 23 points. Senior Jeremiah Reinhart, competing for the first time this season, led the Greyhounds with a 12th place finish of 103 runners on the 8,000-meter course in a time of 27:31. Sophomore Connor Skutches placed 17th in 27:50 while freshman Matthew Lutcza was 18th in a time of 27:51. Rounding out the Moravian top five were freshman Peter Rovtar at 35th place in 28:48 and junior Steve DeFazio in 41st place with a time of 29:18. Also competing for Moravian were Steve Parisi, who was 44th for the Greyhounds in 29:43, sophomore Jacob Tazik, who placed 57th in 30:56, and freshman Jonathan Gutierrez, who was 76th in a time of 33:08.

At Husky Invitational hosted by Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania - 3rd of 5 - Moravian Individual Results - Complete Meet Results

The Greyhounds placed third of five teams at the Husky Invitational hosted by Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania with a team score of 92 points. Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania won the meet with a score of 18 points. Freshman Matt Lutcza led Moravian with a time of 28:13 on the 8,000-meter course to place 17th of 55 runners. Sophomore Connor Skutches took 21st place in 28:39 while junior Steve DeFazio was 26th in a time of 29:28 and freshman Zach Rivenbark was 27th in 29:35. Rounding out Moravian's top five was junior Timothy Betz, who placed 32nd in a time of 30:30 while freshman Peter Rovtar was 36th overall in 31:01. Freshman Steve Ambrosi posted a time of 31:44 to finish 39th in the meet while sophomore Jacob Tazik ran a time of 31:46 to palce 40th. Moravian's other runners included freshman Jonathan Gutierrez finishing 46th in 33:53 and senior John McCullough taking 49th place in 34:45.

At 2008 Lehigh Valley Championships hosted by Lehigh University - 4th of 5 - Moravian Individual Results - Complete Meet Results

Moravian began the 2008 season with a fourth place finish at the 2008 Lehigh Valley Championships hosted on the Goodman Campus of Lehigh University. The Greyhounds had a team score of 100 points while the host Mountain Hawks won the meet with a score of 17 points. Sophomore Connor Skutches led Moravian with a time of 27:24.2 on the 8,000-meter course that placed him 24th of 57 runners in the race. Freshman Matthew Lutcza was 27th in a time of 27:52.3 while freshman Zach Rivenbark was 30th in 27:56.4. JUnior Steve DeFazio took 36th place with a time of 28:44.5 while freshman Pete Rovtar rounded out the Greyhounds top five with a 42nd place finish in 29:22.5. Junior Tim Betz was 43rd for the Greyhounds in 29:36 while junior Steve Parisi took 46th in 29:50.8. Freshman Steve Ambrosi was 49th in his first collegiate race with a time of 30:47.2 while sophomore Jacob Tazik placed 52nd in 31:36.1. Also running for Moravian were senior John McCullough, placing 56th in 32:53.1, and freshman Jonathan Gutierrez finishing 57th in 33:15.6.
