The Moravian College men's cross country team finished 26th of 45 teams at the 2009 NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional Championship hosted by Muhlenberg College at Lehigh University's Goodman Campus. The Greyhounds, running without two of their top runners, scored 772 points while Allegheny College was first with 59 points. Carnegie Mellon University was the runner-up with 69 points.
Freshman Donnie Noble, pictured at right, led the Greyhounds with a season-bset time of 26:56.8, which placed him 77th of the 314 runners on the 8,000-meter course. Sophomore Matthew Lutzca was 152nd in a time of 28:06.2 while senior Timothy Betz was 158th in 28:14.9. Freshman Patrick Steinemann placed 191st in his season-best time of 28:52.3 while senior Steve Parisi was 203rd in 29:10.9. Freshman Dylan Marton was 213th in the race in a time of 29:22.8 while freshman Jake Donchez was 234th in 29:52.0. Greyhound junior Connor Skutches and sophomore Zach Rivenbark did not compete in the meet.

The Moravian College men's cross country team finished as the runner-up at the 2009 Landmark Conference Championships hosted by The Catholic University of America. The Greyhounds scored 76 points, finishing 51 points behind champion Susquehanna University. Juniata College was third with 83 points.
Greyhound sophomore Matthew Lutcza, pictured, and freshman Donnie Noble each earned spots on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team with top 14 finishes. Lutcza was eighth of 88 runners on the 8,000-meter course in a time of 27:49 while Noble was 12th in 28:12. Moravian’s other top five runners included junior Connor Skutches in 16th place in 28:32, sophomore Zach Rivenbark at 17th in a time of 28:38 and freshman Dylan Marton in 24th at 29:13.
Freshman Jake Donchez was 34th in a time of 29:43 while freshman Patrick Steinemann was 42nd in the race in a time of 30:11. Senior Timothy Betz was 47th in 30:23 while senior Steve Parisi was 52nd in a time of 30:43. Junior Jacob Tazik finished 53rd in the race in a time of 30:44 while freshman Jonathan Bellizio was 59th in 31:11. Junior Jesse Miller took 64th in the meet in 31:37 while senior Steve DeFazio was 65th in a time of 31:40.
At Pete Nevins Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania - 7th of 15 - Moravian

The Moravian College men's cross country team finished seventh of 15 schools at the Pete Nevins Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. The Greyhounds had a team score of 175 points while NCAA Division I LaSalle University finished first with 53 points. Moravian had just seven runners in the meet as the Greyhounds had most of their top runners take the weekend off to prepare for the Landmark Conference Championships next weekend.
Sophomore Zach Rivenbark, pictured, led Moravian with an 11th place finish of 118 runners, posting a time of 17:06 on the 5,000-meter course. Senior Timothy Betz was 37th in a time of 18:04 while junior Jacob Tazik was 41st in 18:12. Rounding out the Greyhounds' top five at the meet were freshman Patrick Steinemann in 45th place in a time of 18:27 while freshman Jonathan Bellizio was 55th in 18:55. Junior Jesse Miller was 59th in the race in 19:04 while sophomore Jonathan Guiterrez was 97th in a time of 20:52.

The Moravian College men's cross country team finished fifth of 27 schools at the DeSales University Invitational. The Greyhounds had a team score of 204 points while Dickinson College finished first with 21 points.
Sophomore Matthew Lutcza, pictured, paced Moravian with a 19th place finish of 282 runners on the 8,000-meter course with a time of 27:37.79. Junior Connor Skutches finished 35th in 28:08.72 while freshman Donnie Noble was 37th overall in 28:10.86. Rounding out the Greyhounds top five were freshman Dylan Marton in 67th place with a time of 28:53.81 and senior Steven DeFazio, who was 80th in 29:19.19.
Also competing for Moravian were freshman Jake Donchez, who was 94th in 29:32.42, junior Jacob Tazik, who placed 112th in a time of 29:55.38, senior Steve Parisi, who took 134th in 30:24.55, freshman Patrick Steinemann, who was 139th in a time of 30:27.62, freshman Jonathan Bellizio, who placed 169th in 31:25, 90, junior Jessoe Miller, who took 175th in 31:34.52, and sophomore Jonathan Gutierrez, who was 275th in 38:29.87.

The Moravian College men's cross country team finished fourth of 29 schools in the 36th Annual Brooks Paul Short Run, College Men White hosted by Lehigh University. The Greyhounds had a team score of 178 points while the University of Mary Washington finished first with 116 points.
Junior Connor Skutches, pictured, paced Moravian with an 11th place finish of 245 runners on the 8,000-meter course with a time of 26:24. Sophomore Matthew Lutcza finished 22nd in 26:42 while sophomore Zach Rivenbark was 28th overall in 26:50. Rounding out the Greyhounds top five were freshman Donnie Noble in 39th place with a time of 27:06 and senior Steven DeFazio, who was 81st in 27:59.
Also competing for Moravian were senior Timothy Betz, who took 94th in a time of 28:14, freshman Dylan Marton, who was 129th in 28:48, senior Steve Parisi, who placed 131st overall in 28:49, freshman Jake Donchez, who was 146th in 29:07, and junior Jacob Tazik was 162nd in a time of 29:29.

The Moravian College men's cross country team finished third of 11 schools at the Cougar Classic hosted by Misericordia University. The Greyhounds had a team score of 95 points while Susquehanna University finished first with 28 points.
Sophomore Zach Rivenbark, pictured, paced Moravian with a 14th place finish of 123 runners on the 8,000-meter course with a time of 27:46. Junior Connor Skutches was on spot back in 15th at 27:53 while sophomore Matthew Lutcza was 16th overall in 27:59. Rounding out the Greyhounds top five were senior Steve DeFazio in 33rd place with a time of 29:10 and freshman Donnie Noble, who was 34th in 29:14.
Also competing for Moravian were freshmen Dylan Marton, who took 38th in a time of 29:44, and Jake Donchez, who was 40th in 29:48. Senior Timothy Betz placed 43rd in 29:56 while senior Steve Parisi was 47th overall in 30:03 and junior Jacob Tazik was 50th in a time fo 30:08. Freshman Patrick Steinmann was 63rd in 31:05 while classmate Jonathan Bellizio was 65th in the race in 31:19. Junior Jesse Miller took 76th place in a time of 31:50 while sophomore Jonathan Gutierrez was 113th in 37:06.

The Moravian College men's cross country team began the 2009 season with a
fifth place finish at the 2009 Lehigh Valley Championships hosted on
the Goodman Campus of Lehigh University. The Greyhounds had a team score
of 111 points while the host Mountain Hawks won the meet with a score
of 19 points.
Junior Connor Skutches led Moravian with a time of 19:49.6 on the 6,000-meter course that placed him 15th of 70 runners in the
race. Sophomore Zach Rivenbark was 17th in a time of 19:55.6 while sophomore Matthew Lutcza was 28th overall at 20:13.8. Rounding out the Greyhounds' top five were senior Steve Parisi in 47th place in 21:00.8 and senior Timothy Betz one spot back in 48th at 21:04.2.
Freshman Jake Donchez was 51st in 21:10.7 while senior Steve DeFazio took 56th in 21:43.2 and junior Jacob Tazik was 57th in a time of 21:48.2. Freshman Jon Bellizio was 58th in his first collegiate race in 21:53.9 while freshman Pat Steinemann was 62nd in 22:17.7 and junior Jesse Miller took 64th with a time of 22:54.0.
