For the fifth straight year, both the men's and women's cross country teams at Moravian captured the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship. The men were co-champions with Widener.
Junior Jeff Minnich (Lehighton/Palmerton Area HS) paced the Greyhounds to the co-championship with a fourth place finish. He also led the squad in the NCAA Mideast Regional with a 28th place finish.
Junior James Hillary (Easton/Easton HS) and sophomore Dylan Coia (Glen Rock, NJ/Notre Dame HS) were the ‘Hounds other top runners with Hillary placing in the top 20 five times and Coia doing the same at three meets.
Freshman Damon Rutherford (Reading/Exeter HS) and sophomore Tim Pfluger (Slatington/Northern Lehigh HS) battled all season for the fourth, fifth or sixth position on the team and combined for three top 25 finishes.
Senior Bob Thear (Bethlehem/Freedom HS) completed his eligibility with two top 25 performances while junior Chris Lowthert (Pottsville/Pottsville HS) rounded out Moravian’s top seven.
