The Greyhounds closed out the 2004 season with a 5-0 shutout victory
versus Juniata College in Commonwealth Conference action on the HUB
Quad. Moravian jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute on the first
goal of the season by senior forward Jonathan Thomas, assisted by senior
midfielder Nick Tarquinio. The Greyhounds would tally four goals in
the second half. Senior midfielder Jim Feimster netted his second goal
of the season with an unassisted tally in the 49th minute before Thomas
scored his second goal of the match in the 51st minute. Thomas would
finish off his first career hat trick with an unassisted goal in the
64th minute. Senior defender Ryan Wilkins scored his first career goal
in his final match in a Greyhound uniform on a penalty kick in the 67th
minute. Moravian had a 15-4 advantage in shots and a 3-2 edge in corner
kicks. Moravian sophomore goalie Kyle Keller had one save in the victory

was the Greyhounds' fifth straight by a score of 1-0. Moravian actually

Lions' Joseph Kelly netted the game's only goal in the 32nd minute off
a pass from Matt Yoder. Both teams had a player red carded in the 86th
minute of the match. Junior goalie Ryan Walker started in net for the
Greyhounds, and he played 68 minutes before sophomore Kyle Keller came
into the match. Neither goalie made a save for the Greyhounds while

Misericordia in non-conference action. The Greyhounds jumped out to
a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute when senior midfielder Nick Tarquinio
scored an unassisted goal, his eighth goal of the season. Sophomore
forward Neil Untenahrer added an unassisted goal in the 62nd minute,
Untenahrer's third goal of the year, to give Moravian the 2-0 lead.
The Greyhounds had a 10-9 advantage in shots while the Cougars had a

forward Neil Untenahrer. Tarquinio's goal was his team-leading seventh

forward Steve Uhas scored an unassisted tally for his sixth goal of
the season. Senior midfielder/forward Ryan Fick got the goal right back
for Moravian in the 32nd minute when he scored an unassisted goal for
his third goal of the year. Moravian would score once more in the first
half when senior midfielder Nick Tarquinio scored his team leading goal
sixth goal of the season off a corner kick by sophomore midfielder Josh
Sheetz in the 34th minute. Hintenach added his second goal of the match
in the 53rd minute when he headed home another Sheetz corner kick. Moravian
had a 17-11 advantage in shots and a 9-5 edge in corner kicks. Moravian

Moravian suffered its first loss in Commonwealth Conference action,
falling to nationally ranked Messiah College, 5-0, on the HUB Quad.
The Falcons, ranked tenth in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association
of America/adidas Top 25 poll, scored three goals in the first half
and added two more tallies in the second half. Junior midfielder David
McClellan scored the only goal Messiah needed off a pass from sophomore
forward Tim Stello in the ninth minute. Junior midfielder Bryan Mahoney
added a goal off an assist from senior forward Seth Lehman in the 27th
minute before freshman forward Kieran Keelan scored an unassisted goal
in the 36th minute. McClellan had an unassisted tally in the 56th minute
before Keelan finished off the scoring in the 68th minute with another
unassisted goal. Messiah had a 19-2 advantage in shots and a 9-2 edge
in corner kicks. Messiah sophomore keepers Dustin Shambach and Chris
Vincent combined on the shutout of Moravian. Shambach had one save in
75 minutes while Vincent did not face a shot in 15 minutes. Moravian
sophomore keeper Kyle Keller had four saves and allowed five goals in
79 minutes of action while junior keeper Ryan Walker had one save for
the Greyhounds in 11 minutes.

a 2-1 non-conference victory over DeSales University on the HUB Quad.
The victory was Moravian's third straight, and the Greyhounds are unbeaten
in the last four contests. DeSales jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 36
seconds into the match when senior forward John Rennie headed home a
headed pass from sophomore midfielder/forward Randy Sturm after a throw
in from senior defender Joe Rinchiuso. Moravian would score the tying
goal in the 75th minute when senior midfielder Nick Tarquinio headed
home a corner kick by sophomore midfielder Josh Sheetz for his fifth
goal of the season. Senior midfielder/forward Ryan Fick netted the winning
goal for Moravian in the 86th minute off a header from Tarquinio. Fick's
goal was his second of the year and first game-winning goal. DeSales
had a 16-13 advantage in shots while the Greyhounds held a 7-2 edge
in corner kicks. Moravian sophomore goalie Kyle Keller improved to 4-1-1

season off a pass from sophomore midfielder Josh Sheetz. Moravian sophomore
goalie Kyle Keller made eight saves in his second shutout of the season
while Susquehanna keeper Austin Kelsey had six saves. The Crusaders
did have a 16-9 advantage in shots and a 2-1 edge in corner kicks.

Valley College, 3-2, in non-conference action on the HUB Quad. Moravian
took a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute when senior midfielder Nick Tarquinio
scored his third goal of the season off a centering pass from senior
midfielder/forward Ryan Fick. Fick would net his first goal of the season
and give Moravian a 2-0 lead in the 36th minute when he headed home
a crossing pass from sophomore forward Neil Untenahrer. The Aggies cut
the score to 2-1 in the 48th minute when senior defender Tom Pierce
found the back of the net off a pass from freshman defender Brian Anderson.
Tarquinio added his second goal of the game on a scramble in front of
the net for a loose ball in the 82nd minute. Delaware Valley would add
another goal in the 84th minute when freshman forward/midfielder Mike
Morawski chipped in a shot from 18-yards out on the left hand side off
a pass from Anderson. Moravian had a 19-6 advantage in shots while Delaware
Valley had a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. The match had a total of 25 fouls,
and six yellow cards were handed out with each team receiving three
of them. Moravian sophomore goalie Kyle Keller made two saves for his
second win of the season while sophomore Nick D'Amato had five saves
for the Aggies.

keeper Chris Davis had three saves in the double shutout. The tie gives
each school a half a point in the first event in the annual Matte Award

The Greyhounds dropped their first match at the Muhlenberg College
Tournament, falling to Stevens Institute of Technology, 3-1, despite
playing 60 minutes with a man advantage. Moravian fell behind 3-0 before
scoring in the 84th minute. Junior forward Ryan Hintenach netted the
goal for the Greyhounds off an assist from senior forward Jonathan Thomas.
Craig Moquin scored twice for the Ducks, and he added an assist on a
goal by Chris Barsky. Sean Bliss and Chris McGreevy also had assists
for Stevens Tech. Moravian sophomore goalie Kyle Keller made six saves
in the match as Moravian was out shot 18-8. Ducks goalie Chris Celentano
had four saves. Stevens Tech also had a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Vs. Swarthmore College Postponed
until October 4th
Moravian's non-conference match with Swarthmore College has been postponed
until Monday October 4th due to heavy rain. The match was started and
one of the 45-minute halves was completed when the referees and Moravian
officials determined the field was unplayable for the rest of the contest.
Since only a half was played, none of the statistics or the score counted
for either team. Each squad had scored a goal in the first half for
a 1-1 tie, and the Greyhounds had had an 8-2 advantage in shots including
a penalty kick that was saved by the Swarthmore goalie.
Vs. University of Scranton Won
3-1 Box Score
The Greyhounds evened their record with a 3-1 victory over the University
of Scranton in non-conference action on the HUB Quad in Bethlehem. The
Royals scored the games only tally in the first half with a goal by
Mike Stoak off a pass from Nick DeBarbie in the 39th minute. However,
Moravian would score three unanswered goals in the second half for the
victory. Senior midfielder Nick Tarquinio tied the match in the 57th
minutes with an unassisted goal, his second tally of the season. Sophomore
forward Neil Untenahrer broke the tie in the 81st minute when he found
the back of the net off a feed from senior midfielder/forward Ryan Fick.
Freshman forward Chris Dello Buono scored his first collegiate goal
for the Greyhounds in the 88th minute off a pass from senior midfielder
Jim Feimster. Moravian had an 11-9 advantage in shots while the Royals
had a 5-2 edge in corner kicks. Scranton goalie Matt Richardson made
five saves in the contest while Moravian sophomore keeper Kyle Keller
had four saves in the victory for the Greyhounds.

non-conference action on the newly renovated HUB Quad in Bethlehem.
The Rangers, who played for the NCAA Division III National Championship
a year ago, jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half and lead 3-0
before Moravian scored its only goal of the match. Chris Wortley opened
the scoring for Drew with a goal off a pass from Brett Reeder in the
33rd minute. The Rangers other first half tally was an unassisted goal
by Michael Jacobson in the 41st minute. Ian Klein scored off a pass
from Tyler Brisk in the 49th minute before Moravian senior midfielder
Nick Tarquinio found the back of the net with a diving header off an
indirect kick by senior midfielder Jim Feimster. Drew would score two
more goals in the contest with a pair of goals by Derek Swanner off
assists from Brisk and Frank Auteri. Greyhound junior goalie Ian Nuno
made five saves in 65 minutes of action while Moravian sophomore keeper
Kyle Keller had one stop in the final 25 minutes. Drew goalie Ian Biggers
had two saves as the Ranger held a 16-4 advantage in shots while both
teams had three corner kicks.
