2007 Review

The Moravian College men’s soccer completed the 2007 season with a 7-11 overall record and a 3-4 record in the newly created Landmark Conference. The Greyhounds were under the direction of ninth-year head coach Eric Lambinus.

Leading the Greyhounds was junior forward Louis Dollarton (Barrington, NJ/Haddon Heights HS) with six goals. He also recorded one assist for a total of 13 points. Senior midfielder Ryan Hess (Harleysville, PA/Souderton HS) contributed three goals and three assists for a total of nine points, while sophomore midfielder Blake Ritchey (Harleysville, PA/Souderton HS) netted four goals of his own to go along with one assist for a total of nine points as well. Dollarton, pictured at right, and Hess were both named to the Landmark All-Conference Second Team.

Sophomore midfielder Michael Tarulli (Bear Creek, PA/James Coughlin HS) had seven points on three goals and one assist while senior forward Chris Dello Buono (Oakland, NJ/Immaculata HS) had one goal and one assist in his last year with the Greyhounds.

Senior defender Daniel Scavone (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg North HS) put up one goal and one assist while freshman midfielder Brian Hunscher (Ann Arbor, MI/Ann Arbor) contributed three assists in his season debut. Sophomore midfielder/forward Kyle Jablon (Blairstown, NJ/North Warren HS) netted one goal while sophomore defender Gary Grimes (Howell, NJ/Christian Borthers Academy) had one assist on the season.

Senior defender John Mikovits (Bath, PA/Northampton HS) and freshman defender Tim Smetana (Harvard, MA/The Bromfield School) each contributed one assist for the Greyhounds this year. Senior midfielder Phillip Campano (Schnecksville, PA/Allentown Central Catholic HS), pictured at left, helped anchor the Greyhound defensive unit in his final season. 

Four different players were in goal this year for the Greyhounds being led by junior Chris Nederostek (Lansdale, PA/Christopher Dock HS), who had a 1.27 goals against average, 60 saves, and three shutouts in 1,062 minutes of play. Freshman Tobias Frost (Harvard, MA/The Bromfield School) had a 1.62 goals against average to go along with 17 saves, and one shutout in 277 minutes off action. Freshman Bryant White (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) had five saves in 149 minutes of play while freshman Tim Dollarton (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township) had 11 saves in 143 minutes of action.

Also contributing this year for the Greyhounds were senior defender Ken Wilson (Pittsgrove, NJ/Schalick HS), junior midfielder Rueben Concepcion (Blenheim, NJ/Triton Regional HS), sophomores defender Ryan Williams (Forty Fort, PA/Bishop O'Reilly HS), midfielders Evan Outlaw (Zion Grove, PA), Daniel Todd (Perkiomenville, PA/Perkiomen Valley HS), Alexander Kulp (Wyncote, PA/Roman Catholic HS), and Eric Yanders (Macungie, PA/Emmaus HS); and freshmen forward Matthew Levine (Island Park, NY/West Hempstead) and defender Peter Weiss (Allentown, PA/William Allen).

Hess, Scavone, Wilson, Nederostek, Grimes, Ritchey and Tarulli were all named to the 2007 Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll while Hess and Scavone earned spots on the 2007 Landmark Conference Fall All-Academic Team.
