At Drew University – Lost 3-0 - Box Score

            Greg Zizik scored a goal and an assist to lead the Drew University men’s soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Moravian College in the regular season finale Saturday afternoon.
            Anthony Pisani would give the Rangers all of the offense they needed in the sixth minute when he netted an unassisted goal.  Zizik would score in the 56th minute off of a pass from Vincent Costa while Shahryar Shroff added a goal set up by Zizik in the 62nd minute.
            Drew had a 24-2 advantage in shots in the match and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.  Moravian senior goalie Chris Nederostek had nine saves in his final collegiate match while Jeff Rogers stopped the only two shots he saw for the Rangers.

            Moravian's final home and non-conference match of the year versus local rival DeSales University, originally scheduled for Thursday, October 28th, has been cancelled due to the Bulldogs needing to make up a Freedom Conference match that was postponed on October 26th due to weather. The Moravian versus DeSales match will not be rescheduled this season.

Vs. The Catholic University of America – Won 1-0 (overtime) - Box Score

            Freshman forward Taylor Molinaro netted the only goal of the match 1:56 into overtime to give the Moravian College men’s soccer team a 1-0 victory over The Catholic University of America in Landmark Conference action on the HUB Quad. The victory is the first for the Greyhounds in Landmark Conference action this fall.
            Molinaro’s goal, his sixth of the season, was set up by a header from freshman midfielder Mark Casagrande just after the Greyhounds only corner kick of overtime.  The match was delayed 20 minutes from the end of regulation to the start of overtime due to lightning in the area.
            Catholic had a 19-5 advantage in shots and a 19-5 edge in corner kicks in the match.  Greyhound senior goalie Chris Nederostek made eight saves and Moravian had one team save while sophomore Quinn Daly had two saves for the Cardinals.

Vs. The University of Scranton – Lost 1-0 - Box Score

            Junior forward Ray Straccia headed in a loose ball in the 32nd minute for the only goal of the match, leading The University of Scranton to a 1-0 Landmark Conference win over Moravian on the HUB Quad.
            Straccia’s goal, his fifth of the season, broke the scoreless tie and came just after a yellow card on the Greyhounds. Junior midfielder Sebastian Akerman started the play with a free kick off of the crossbar.  The victory also clinches Scranton a berth in the 2008 Landmark Conference Tournament that begins on November 5th.
            The Royals had a 15-10 advantage in shots and 7-4 edge in corner kicks.  Scranton sophomore goalie Brandon Dombrowski needed to make just one save for his fourth shutout of the season.  Moravian senior keeper Chris Nederostek had four saves for the Greyhounds, who remain winless in Landmark Conference action.

Vs. Susquehanna University – Tied 2-2 (double overtime) - Box Score

            Freshman defender Mike Dobbins netted his second goal of the season to help Moravian play to a 2-2, double-overtime draw with Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference action on the HUB Quad. The match took nearly three hours to play after a 30-minute delay with just over a minute remaining in regulation when a Susquehanna player was injured on a bicycle kick attempt by one of his teammates.
            The Crusaders would score first in the match; needing just 25 seconds to get on the scoreboard with sophomore forward Rhyan Nelson netting his seventh goal of the season off of a pass from senior defender Matt Campbell. 
            The Greyhounds tied the contest in the ninth minute when senior forward Louis Dollarton scored off of a one-touch pass from freshman forward Taylor Molinaro after a long punt by senior goalie Chris Nederostek.  The goal was Dollarton’s fifth of the season.
            Susquehanna would retake a one-goal lead in the 50th minute when sophomore midfielder Jim Robertiello scored off of a pass for Nelson ten yards out.
            Dobbins tied the match with his second goal of the week when he scored on a free kick in the 79th minute.
            Susquehanna had a 19-8 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.  Nederostek finished with 11 saves while freshman goalie Jed Lemon had five saves for the Crusaders.

            Moravian snapped a two-match losing streak with a 5-0 non-conference win at Penn State University-Abington.
            The Greyhounds took a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute when the Lions ended up putting the ball in their own net on a clearing attempt. Moravian extedned its lead to 2-0 in the 32nd minute when freshman midfielder Mark Casagrande scored his first colelgiate goal off of a pass from senior midfielder Ruben Concepcion.
            Concepcion gave the Greyhounds a 3-0 lead in the 51st minute with his first goal of the season off of an assist by senior forward Louis Dollarton. Freshman defender Mike Dobbins would get his first goal of the year in the 70th minute off of lead pass from sophomore midfielder Matthew Levine. Dollarton finished off the scoring in the 73rd minute with his fourth goal of the season set up by sophomore defender Brian Hunscher.
            Moravian had a 15-7 advantage in shots and a 5-2 edge in corner kicks in the contest. The Greyhounds used three goalies in the shutout with senior Chris Nederostek earning the victoty with three saves in 60 minutes of action. Sophomore keeper Bryant White had one save in 20 minutes while sophomore goalie Tim Dollarton added one save in the final ten minutes.

            Dan Brody of the Goucher College men’s soccer team scored the winning goal in the 70th minute to help lead the Gophers rally from a 1-0 deficit in a span of five minutes for a 2-1 Landmark Conference victory over Moravian.
            The Greyhounds scored first when junior defender Gary Grimes netted an unassisted goal, his fourth goal of the season, in the 52nd minute.
            Goucher tied the match in the 65th minute when Elijah Lais scored off of an assist from Andrew Bull.  Almost exactly five minutes later, Brody scored the game-winner off of a pass from Galen Guindon.
            The Gophers had a 17-11 advantage in shots and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks in the match.  Goucher goalie Joey Granic had six saves, and the Gophers added one team save.  Senior keeper Chris Nederostek made five saves for the Greyhounds.

Vs. United States Merchant Marine Academy – Lost 4-3 (overtime) - Box Score

           Senior forward Kyle Luetjen’s second goal of the match rallied the United States Merchant Marine Academy to a 4-3 overtime victory over Moravian in Landmark Conference action on the HUB Quad.
           Luetjen had given the Mariners a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute with an unassisted goal, his ninth of the season.
           The Greyhounds would respond and eventually take a 3-1 lead.  Junior midfielder Blake Ritchey netted his first goal of the season in the 27th minute off of a pass from freshman defender Mike Dobbins to tie the match.  Junior midfielder/forward Kyle Jablon then connected on his first goal of the year off of a pass from freshman midfielder Mark Casagrande in the 43rd minute to send Moravian into the intermission with a 2-1 lead.  Junior defender Gary Grimes would extend the Greyhound lead to 3-1 in the 54th minute when he netted his third goal of the season off of a lead pass from senior forward Louis Dollarton.
          Senior midfielder Brad Silveira would score a pair of goals in a span of 2:05 to tie the match in the 80th minute.  Silveira's first goal cam off of a pass from Chris Flanagan while the other was unassisted. Silveira then set up Luetjen’s game-winner in the 94th minute.
          The Mariners had a 21-13 advantage in shots while Moravian held a 2-1 edge in corner kicks.  Greyhound senior goalie Chris Nederostek had five saves in the match for Moravian while junior Lucas Larson had one save for the Mariners.

            Freshman forward Taylor Molinaro netted his fifth goal of the season in the 87th minute to build a 2-0 lead to help Moravian earn a 2-1 non-conference victory over Philadelphia Biblical University on the HUB Quad.
            The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 39th minute when sophomore forward Chris Walsh netted his career goal off of a pass from junior defender/midfielder Blake Ritchey.  Molinaro scored his second game-winning goal in the 87th minute, tapping in a crossing pass from senior forward Louis Dollarton on a play set up by freshman midfielder Mark Casagrande.
            The Crimson Eagles would score with just 1:49 remaining when senior forward Warren Scales chipped a Greyhound clearing attempt into the upper right hand corner of the goal.
            Moravian had a 15-11 advantage in shots in the match and a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.  Greyhound senior goalie Chris Nederostek has one save in the victory while sophomore keeper Andy Ecker had four saves for Philadelphia Biblical.

            Moravian played to a 0-0, double-overtime draw at Juniata College to begin the 2008 Landmark Conference season.
            Neither team was able to get a ball in the net, and both squad attempted 14 shots in the contest.  Juniata did have an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.  Eagle goalie Joe Kohler had seven saves in the contest as did Greyhound senior keeper Chris Nederostek.
            Moravian finished the match down two men after having a player red carded in the 88th minute and another player red carded in the 94th minute.  The cards were the second yellow of the match for both Greyhound players.  The referees handed out 11 cards in the match, eight on Moravian.

            Senior forward Cameron Audette netted a goal with just 27 seconds remaining in the second overtime to lift King’s College to a 2-1, non-conference win over Moravian College on the HUB Quad .
            The Monarchs had taken a 1-0 lead in the 71st minute when freshman forward Joe Bender made an eight-yard shot on a failed clearing attempt by the Greyhounds.
            Moravian, which saw its two-match winning streak snapped, would tie the match with just 11.2 seconds remaining in regulation when junior defender Gary Grimes drilled in a loose ball from just outside the goal line on a centering pass from junior midfielder Michael Tarulli.
            Audette jumped on a missed pass by the Greyhounds in the 110th minute and chipped the ball off the hands of Moravian senior goalie Chris Nederostek and inside the left post for the game-winning goal, Audette’s 14th goal of the season.  Audette had a chance to put King’s on the scoreboard first in the 14th minute of the match when he was awarded a penalty kick.  However, Nederostek stopped Audette’s shot towards the right side of the goal, and Audette’s second shot sailed over the cross bar.
            Moravian had a14-11 advantage in shots in the match including 4-0 in the first overtime that saw Grimes nearly win the match with a shot that just went over the crossbar.  Both teams attempted three corner kicks in the match.  Nederostek made four saves for the Greyhounds while sophomore goalie Tim Kelly made three saves for King’s, and the Monarchs had one team save.

            Senior goalie Chris Nederostek made four saves for his first shutout of the season, leading Moravian to a 2-0 non-conference victory over Lebanon Valley College on the HUB Quad.
            The Greyhounds, who had won two straight matches, would give Nederostek all the offense he would need in the third minute when freshman forward Taylor Molinaro netted his team leading fourth goal of the season.  Junior defender Gary Grimes sent a lead pass down the field and senior forward Louis Dollarton headed the ball onto Molinaro for the goal.  Dollarton would net his third goal of the season off of a pass from junior midfielder/forward Kyle Jablon and scored on a shot from the top of the 18-yard box.
            The Flying Dutchmen had a 17-11 advantage in shots and a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.  Nederostek made his four saves while returning to the line-up after leaving Moravian’s last game in the 19th minute with an injury.  Tim Mehl made three saves Lebanon Valley, and the Flying Dutchmen had one team save.

            Senior forward Louis Dollarton netted his second goal of the match in the 102nd minute to lead Moravian to a 3-2 double-overtime victory in a non-conference match at Haverford College.
            The win snapped a four-match losing streak for the Greyhounds.  Moravian took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute when junior defender Gary Grimes scored his first goal of the season off of a pass from junior midfielder Michael Tarulli.  The Greyhounds would extend their lead to 2-0 in the 38th minute when Dollarton netted his first goal of the year when he headed in a pass from sophomore midfielder Matthew Levine.
            The Fords would control the second half of the match to force the extra time.  Haverford pulled within 2-1 in the 67th minute when Matt Wethrell scored on a pass from Brian Pepe-Mooney.  Panos Panidis would tie the match in the 83rd minute with an unassisted goal as he put a rebound in the back of the net.
            Dollarton would net the game-winner just 1:27 into the second ten-minute overtime period when his shot found the lower left corner of the net.  Dollarton’s shot was just Moravian’s ninth of the match while Haverford had 36 shots.  The Fords also had a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks.
            Moravian senior goalie Chris Nederostek had four saves in a little over 18 and a half minutes at the start of the match before an injury forced him out of the contest.  Sophomore keeper Bryant White came on to the final 83 minutes for the Greyhounds with a career high 12 saves.  Adam Care made one save for Haverford in the match.

            Moravian suffered a 2-1 loss to rival Muhlenberg College in non-conference action.
            The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute when freshman Taylor Molinaro netted his team leading third goal of the season off of a corner kick by junior defender Gary Grimes.
            The Mules would tie the contest in the 31st minute when Brendan Carroll headed home a crossing pass from Billy Dalton.  Muhlenberg pulled ahead in the 57th minute when Cody Antonini netted an unassisted goal.
            The Mules had a 21-6 advantage in shots while both teams had three corner kicks.  Moravian senior goalie Chris Nederostek made six saves in goal for the Greyhounds while Joseph Gogel had two saves for Muhlenberg.

Vs. Salisbury University in Shellenberger Tournament hosted by Lynchburg College – Lost 5-0 - Box Score

            The Greyhounds dropped their third straight match, falling to Salisbury University, 5-0, in the second day of the Shellenberger Tournament hosted by Lynchburg College.
            The Sea Gulls would get all of the offense they would need just 53 seconds into the match when Alex Hargrove scored an unassisted goal.  Mike Napolitano scored off a pass from Scott Sparrow in the ninth minute while Kyle Sterling had an unassisted goal in the 28th minute. Ben DeLisle headed in a goal off of a free kick by Sam Flax in the 41st minute to give Salisbury a 4-0 halftime lead.  Greg Taylor scored an unassisted tally in the 74th minute to finish off the scoring.
            Salisbury had a 33-4 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.  Moravian senior goalie Chris Nederostek had five saves in 45 minutes of action while sophomore Bryant White played the other 45 minutes and made seven saves for the Greyhounds.  Moravian also had one team save, and Greyhound junior midfielder Michael Tarulli was named to the All-Tournament Team.
            For Salisbury, three goalies combined on the shutout with Greg Wellinghoff playing 63 minutes and making the Sea Gulls’ only save.

            Moravian dropped a 3-2 decision at Lynchburg College in the first day of the Shellenberger Tournament.
            The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute when freshman forward Taylor Molinaro netted an unassisted goal for this second goal of the season.  Moravian would extend its lead to 2-0 in the 24th minute when the Lynchburg defense put the ball in its own net.
            The Hornets got on the scoreboard in the 48th minute when Cam Smith netted an unassisted goal, and Lynchburg tied the contest in the 57th minute when Josh Reed put a direct kick from just outside the 18-yard box in the net for a Hornet goal.  Lynchburg’s winning goal came in the 84th minute and was an own goal by Moravian as the Greyhound defense cleared the ball into its own net.
            Lynchburg owned a 27-5 advantage in shots and an 8-2 edge in corner kicks.  Moravian senior goalie Chris Nederostek made seven saves in goal for the Greyhounds while Matt Sturdivant had three saves for the Hornets.

           The Greyhounds dropped a 3-1 decision to William Paterson University on the HUB Quad in the second day of the Moravian/Muhlenberg Tournament.
            The Pioneers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute when freshman midfielder Hussein Jaafar put a pass from sophomore forward Julian Valerio in the back of the net.  Sophomore defender Joe Strawman extended William Paterson’s lead to 2-0 in the 59th minute with an assist from Valerio, and the Pioneers would push their lead to 3-0 in the 89th minute on an unassisted goal by sophomore forward Daniel Sanchez.
            Moravian’s only goal of the match came with just 38 seconds left in the contest when junior midfielder Evan Outlaw netted his second goal of the season off of a pass from junior defender/midfielder Blake Ritchey.
            William Paterson had a 23-10 advantage in shots and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks on the contest.  Pioneer junior goalie Dan Pergallo needed just one save for the win.  Moravian senior keeper Chris Nederostek had eight saves in goal.

            The Knights would pull within a goal in the 72nd minute when freshman midfielder Zach Sell put a crossing pass from Andrew Rajmondo.  Moravian had a 13-12 edge in shots while both teams attempted three corner kicks.
