The Moravian College men’s soccer team completed the 2008 season with a 6-9-2 overall record and a 1-4-2 record in the Landmark Conference. The Greyhounds were under the direction of tenth-year head coach Eric Lambinus.
Leading the Greyhounds was senior forward Louis Dollarton (Barrington, NJ/Haddon Heights HS) with five goals and four assists for a total of 14 points. Freshman forward Taylor Molinaro (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood HS) contributed six goals and one assist for 13 points while junior defender Gary Grimes (Howell, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy) netted four goals and three assists for a total of 11 points. Dollarton, pictured at right, and Grimes were both named Landmark Men’s Soccer All-Conference Second Team.
Freshman defender Mike Dobbins (Randolph, NJ/Randolph HS) had two goals and one assist in his season debut, while freshman midfielder Mark Casagrande (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Saint Rose HS) netter one goal and had three assists for a total of five points. Junior midfielder Evan Outlaw (Zion Grove, PA/ Pleasant Valley HS) scored two goals for a total of four points while junior midfielder Black Ritchey (Harleysville, PA/Souderton HS) netted one goal and two assists also for four points.
Senior midfielder Ruben Concepcion (Blenheim, NJ/Trinton Regional HS), junior midfielder Kyle Jablon (Blairstown, NJ/North Warren HS), and sophomore forward Chris Walsh (Dunmore, PA/Dunmore HS) all contributed one goal this season with Concepcion and Jablon each adding an assist.
Also helping out this season was junior midfielder Michael Tarulli (Bear Creek, PA/Coughlin HS) and sophomore midfielder Matt Levine (Island Park, NY/West Hempstead HS), who both had two assists on the season while freshman forward Matt McFarlane (Langhorn, PA/Father Judge HS), sophomore defender Brian Hunscher (Ann Harbor, MI/Ann Harbor HS) and senior goalie Chris Nederostek (Lansdale, PA/Christopher Dock HS) all contributed one assist.
Nederostek, pictured at left, played 1,449 minutes in goal this year for Moravian, posting a 1.74 goals-against average with 97 saves, three shutouts and a 5-9-2 record while being named to the Landmark All-Conference Second Team. Sophomore goalie Bryant White (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth HS) had a 1.83 goals-against average 20 saves and a 1-0 record in 148 minutes of action while sophomore keeper Tim Dollarton (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township HS) had one save in ten minutes in goal.
Other players contributing this fall were juniors defender Peter Weiss (Allentown, PA/William Allen HS) and midfielder Alex Kulp (Wyncote, PA/Roman Catholic HS), sophomore defender Tim Smetana (Harvard, MA/The Bromfield School), and freshmen midfielders Kyle Sutcliffe (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown HS), Michael Adams (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery HS), Eldar Sejdic (Bethlehem, PA/Salisbury HS), and Justin Morgan (West Milford, NJ/West Milford HS), defender Ryan McGarry (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg South HS).
Nederostek earned a spot on the 2008 Landmark Conference Fall All-Academic Team, and he was joined on the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll by Grimes, Outlaw, Ritchey, Hunscher, Walsh, Weiss and White.
