Paul R. Moyer became Moravian’s second-ever full-time athletics director in 2000.
He came to Moravian after serving nearly six years as Director of Athletics and Recreation at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Prior to his tenure at St. Mary’s, Moyer devoted four years as the Assistant Chair/Director for the Department of Physical Education, Athletics and Recreation at the University of Chicago.
He also worked at Manhattanville College from July 1986 to August of 1990, serving first as Assistant Director of Athletics and Recreation before moving up to Associate Director and later Director. Moyer has also served as head men’s soccer coach at three schools during his tenure – Chicago, Manhattenville, and prior to that at Catholic University for two seasons.
Moyer’s other work experience includes four years on the NCAA Nominating Committee, the future of NCAA Division III Committee, the Landmark Conference integration Institutes Committee and the Landmark Soccer and Tennis Committees. He is the current Chair of the Landmark Conference Athletic Directors committee and has served as President of the Capital Athletic Conference and two years as on the MAC operations committee. He also had an administrative stint with the US Olympic Organizing Committee, the World Cup Organizing Committee, professional soccer (NASL) and professional basketball (NBA).
Moyer is a member of the National Association of College Directors of Athletics, the National Soccer Coaches of America Association, and the Landmark Operations Committee.
