At Jim Tuppeny Twilight Meet hosted by Villanova University – No Team Scores   Moravian Individual Results

Junior John Lesoine placed first in the hammer throw with a toss of 46.10 meters (151 feet, three inches) as Moravian’s only competitor at the Jim Tuppeny Twilight Meet hosted by Villanova University.

At 2003 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Widener University – 5th of 10   Moravian Individual Results

Junior John Lesoine won the hammer throw and sophomore Jed Warsager captured the 100-meter dash title to lead Moravian to a fifth place finish at the 2003 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Widener University. The Greyhounds posted a team score of 59 1/2 points in the meet. Lesoine had a toss of 48.96 meters (160 feet, seven inches) to win the hammer while Warsager had a time of 11.21 seconds to win his championship.

In other running events on the third and final day of the MAC meet, sophomore Scott Silvoy placed second in the 200-meter dash in 22.45 seconds, and he was third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.47 seconds. Freshman Greg Rarick placed ninth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:08.96 while junior Sean McDonnell was 19th in 4:16.56.

Senior Matt Bowers was third in the hammer throw with a toss of 46.38 meters (153 feet, seven inches) while junior Scott Williams placed 15th at 32.13 meters (105 feet, five inches) and sophomore Shawn Nelson finished 23rd with a distance of 29.68 meters (97 feet, four inches). Freshman Grant Curry took ninth in the long jump with a leap of 6.13 meters (20 feet, 1 1/2 inches) while junior Joe Moore placed tenth at 6.11 meters (20 feet, 1/2 inch).

At 2003 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Widener University – 7th of 9 after Second Day   Moravian Individual Results

Freshman Michael El Kazzaz had Moravian's best finish on the second day of the 2003 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships with a fourth place finish in the pole vault, clearing 4.03 meters (13 feet, three inches). Freshman Casey Hoffman finished eighth in the event with a height of 3.88 meters (12 feet, nine inches). Junior John Lesoine placed fifth in the shot put with toss of 12.42 meters (40 feet, nine inches) while sophomore Mike Lesoine finished fifth in the discus with a throw of 38.97 meters (127 feet, 10 1/2 inches). Freshman Russell Zaleski placed 11th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:59.98. Moravian is currently in seventh place of nine schools that have scored points with 19.5 points.

In the decathlon, senior Eric Paul placed fourth with 5,376 points. In the final five events, Paul earned 671 points for a second place finish in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:41.42, 526 points with a fifth place in the 110-meter hurdles in 17.98 seconds, 406 points for clearing 3.20 meters in the pole vault and tying for fourth, 538 points for a third place finish in the discus at 33.73 meters and 406 points for a sixth place in the javelin at 37.52 meters.

In preliminary events held on the second day of the meet, junior Joe Moore finished first in the 100-meter dash in 11.06 seconds and first in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.02 seconds. Sophomore Jed Warsager was second in the 100-meter dash in 11.09 seconds while sophomore Scott Silvoy was second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.32 seconds and second in the 400-meter dash in 49.78 seconds. Freshman Grant Curry placed fifth in the 100-meter dash in 11.27 seconds and eighth in the 200-meter dash in 22.86. Freshman John Paul Krupka was tenth in the 400-meters dash in 52.58 seconds.

At 2003 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Widener University – 5th of 5 after First Day   Moravian Individual Results

Freshman William Shimer placed eighth in the 10,000 meters in a time of 34:52.98 to score Moravian's only point on the first day of the 2003 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Widener University. Junior Marty Miller placed 12th in the 10,000 with a time of 36:26.86. In the first day of the decathlon, senior Eric Paul earned 651 points with a sixth place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.00 seconds, 671 points for a sixth place finish in the 400-meter dash in a time of 53.24 seconds, 552 points for tying for sixth in the high jump with a leap of 1.71 meters, 451 points for a seventh place finish in the long jump with a leap of 5.35 meters and 504 points for a fourth place showing in the shot put with a toss of 10.31 meters. Sophomore Dan Corey earned 591 points with a ninth place in the 100-meter dash, 528 points for finishing eighth in the high jump at 1.68 meters, 319 points for an 11th place leap of 4.66 meters in the long jump and 493 points for a seventh place in the shot put at 10.12 meters. Corey failed to record any points in the 400-meter dash.

At 109th Penn Relays hosted by University of Pennsylvania – No Team Scores  Moravian Individual Results

Junior Joe Moore placed tenth in the College Men's Eastern Long Jump at the 109th Penn Relays hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. Moore turned in a jump of 7.02 meters (23 feet, 1/2 inch), which meets the NCAA Division III provisional qualifying standard for the 2003 NCAA Championship meet.

At Leopard Invitational hosted by Lafayette College – No Team Scores  Moravian Individual Results     Moravian Relay Results

Senior Matt Bowers won the hammer throw and junior Joe Moore was part of two school records to lead Moravian at the Leopard Invitational hosted by Lafayette College. Bowers captured the hammer throw with a toss of 48.45 meters (158 feet, 11 3/4 inches). Moore finished second in the 200-meter dash in school record time of 21.70 seconds, which provisionally qualified him for the 2003 NCAA Division III National Championships in the event. Moore teamed with sophomores Scott Silvoy and Jed Warsager and freshman Grant Curry to place second in the 4x100 meter relay in a school record and NCAA provisional qualifying time of 41.91 seconds.

Other top ten finishers for the Greyhounds included junior John Lesoine placing second to Bowers in the hammer throw at 47.75 meters (156 feet, 8 1/4 inches). Sophomore Mike Lesoine took seventh in the discus with a toss of 38.07 meters (124 feet, 11 inches) while freshmen Michael El Kazzaz and Casey Hoffman tied for sixth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.89 meters (12 feet, nine inches). Curry took fifth in the long jump with a leap of 6.58 meters (21 feet, 7 1/4 inches) while junior Anthony Merz finished fourth in the triple jump at 12.29 meters (40 feet, four inches) and tenth in the long jump at 5.90 meters (19 feet, 4 1/4 inches). Warsager posted a time of 11.19 seconds to place fifth in the 100-meter dash while Curry was seventh with a time of 11.47 seconds. Freshman Greg Rarick finished ninth in the 1,500 meters in 4:06.80.

In other running events, freshman Russell Zaleski placed 12th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a tome of 11:04.70 while senior Matt Plewinski was 16th in 12:10.70. Freshman Will Shimer had a 13th place finish in the 3,000 meters in 9:25.90 while junior Sean McDonnell took 18th in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:13.90. Sophomore Anthony Bisti also ran the 1,500 meters and finished 31st with a time of 4:38.40. Freshman Ryan Quattrone took 16th in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles in 1:04.26 while freshman John Paul Krupa was 20th in the 400-meter dash in a time of 52.97 seconds.

In other field events, junior Scott Williams was 13th in the hammer throw with a toss of 31.70 meters (104 feet, 1/4 inch) while sophomore Shawn Nelson placed 15th with a toss of 28.61 meters (93 feet, 10 3/4 inches).

At University of Delaware Invitational – 9th of 15  Moravian Individual Results

Moravian finished ninth of 15 schools and fourth of six NCAA Division III schools at the University of Delaware Invitational. The Greyhounds had two-second place finishers in the meet that had NCAA Division I competitors in one flight and NCAA Division II and III competitors in another flight. Freshman Grant Curry was second in the long jump with a leap of 6.70 meters (21 feet, 11 3/4 inches) while senior Matt Bowers was second in the hammer throw with a toss of 44.79 meters (146 feet, 11 3/4 inches). The Greyhounds also had a pair of third place finishes with sophomore Jed Warsager taking third in the 100-meter dash in 10.95 seconds and freshman Greg Rarick finishing third in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:13.79.

Junior Sean McDonnell finished seventh in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:27.14 while sophomore Anthony Bisti was 13th in 4:49.48. McDonnell also placed 14th in the 800 meters in a time of 2:06.78 while Rarick was 15th in 2:07.93. Curry placed fourth in the 100-meter dash in 11.09 seconds while junior Anthony Merz was ninth in 11.77 seconds. Freshman Ryan Quattrone took seventh in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles in 1:04.22 while freshman Russell Zaleski placed sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:20.53. Freshman Will Shimer finished seventh in the 5,000 meters in 16:57.50, and Marty Miller in eighth place at 17:16.58 followed him.

In the field events, junior John Lesoine took fourth in the hammer with a toss of 43.10 meters (141 feet, five inches) while sophomore Shawn Nelson was eighth at 31.92 meters (104 feet, nine inches) and junior Scott Williams was tenth with a distance of 31.12 meters (102 feet, 1 1/2 inches). Sophomore Mike Lesoine took ninth place in the discus with a toss of 37.12 meters (121 feet, 9 3/4 inches). Merz was fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.11 meters (39 feet, 8 3/4 inches). Freshman Michael El Kazzaz placed eighth in the pole vault, clearing 4.05 meters (13 feet, 3 1/2 inches) while freshman Casey Hoffman was 12th at 3.75 meters (12 feet, 3 1/2 inches).

At Sea Ray Relays hosted by the University of Tennessee - Final Day Results – No Team Scores 

Junior Joe Moore failed to record a distance in the long jump as Moravian's only competitor at the Sea Ray Relays hosted by the University of Tennessee.

At Muhlenberg College Invitational – No Team Scores  Moravian Individual Results     Moravian Relay Results

Junior Joe Moore placed first in the 100-meter dash and the long jump to lead the Greyhounds at the non-scoring Muhlenberg College Invitational. Moore won the 100-meter dash in 10.98 seconds, and he captured the long jump with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying distance of 7.28 meters (23 feet, 10 3/4 inches). Other top five finishers for Moravian included sophomore Scott Silvoy placing second in the 100-meter dash in 11.11 seconds and third in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.59 seconds. Freshman Grant Curry was fifth in the 200-meter dash in 23.47 seconds, and he was third in the long jump at 6.73 meters (22 feet, one inch). Moore, Silvoy, Curry and junior Anthony Merz combined to run a second place time of 43.21 seconds in the 4x100-meter relay. Sophomore Dan Corey finished fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 17.38 seconds while senior Eric Paul was third in the 400-meter hurdles in 59.29 seconds. Junior Scott Williams finished fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 30.98 meters (101 feet, eight inches).

In other running events for the Greyhounds, Merz was eighth in the 100-meter dash preliminaries with a time of 11.92 seconds. Freshman John Paul Krupka placed 12th in the 200-meter dash in 24.91 seconds, and he was 17th in the 800 meters in 2:10.11. Freshman Ryan Quattrone finished 15th in the 200-meter dash in 25.08 seconds, and he was 12th in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:05.01. Freshman Greg Rarick led five Greyhounds in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:13.86, which placed him sixth. Junior Sean McDonnell was 13th in a time of 4:20.69 while freshman Will Shimer was tied for 19th in 4:29.75. Freshman Russell Zaleski was 21st in the 1,500 meters in 4:30.87 while sophomore Anthony Bisti placed 29th in 4:37.80. Senior Matt Plewinski finished tenth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 12:27.18.

In the field events, Corey was sixth in the high jump, clearing 1.72 meters (five feet, eight inches) while Paul was sixth in the long jump at 5.92 meters (19 feet, 5 1/4 inches). Paul also placed 16th in the javelin with a toss of 34.26 meters (112 feet, five inches). Freshmen Casey Hoffman and Michael El Kazzaz tied for sixth in the pole vault at a height of 3.98 meters (13 feet, one inch). In the Annual Matte Award competition, the Greyhounds lost to rival Muhlenberg but Moravian stills owns an 8-6 lead this year.

At 2003 Lehigh Valley Championships hosted by Muhlenberg College – 7th of 7  Moravian Individual Results     Moravian Relay Results

The Greyhounds placed seventh of seven schools at the 2003 Lehigh Valley Championships hosted by Muhlenberg College. Moravian did have a pair of individual winners in the meet with junior Joe Moore capturing first place in the 100-meter dash in a track record time of 10.97 seconds and senior Matt Bowers winning the hammer throw with a toss of 46.96 meters (154 feet, one inch). Moore also finished second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.42 seconds while sophomore Scott Silvoy took second in the 400-meter dash in 49.71 seconds and sixth in the 200-meter dash in 22.66 seconds. Moore and Silvoy teamed up with junior Anthony Merz and freshman Grant Curry to finish fourth in the 4x100-meter relay in a time of 43.68 seconds. Curry was fifth in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.49 seconds, and he finished second in the long jump with a leap of 6.87 meters (22 feet, 6 3/4 inches). Merz finished 11th in the 100-meter dash in 12.17 seconds.

In other running events for the Greyhounds, sophomore Dan Corey placed 16th in the 200-meter dash in 24.42 seconds, and he was 16th in the 400 meters in 54.07 seconds. Junior Sean McDonnell placed 14th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:06.11 while freshman John Paul Krupka finished 17th in 2:08.74 and senior Eric Paul was 24th with a time of 2:11.35. Freshman Greg Rarick posted a time of 4:14.55 in the 1,500 meters, good enough for eighth place while freshman Russell Zaleski was in 23rd place in a time of 4:31.88 and sophomore Anthony Bisti finished 26th in 4:35.00. Freshman Ryan Quattrone took 12th in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles in a time of 1:05.51.

Junior John Lesoine finished second in the hammer throw with a toss of 45.79 meters (150 feet, three inches), and he placed eighth in the shot put at 11.89 meters (39 feet, 1/4 inches) and 13th in the discus with a toss of 31.43 meters (103 feet, 1 1/2 inches). Junior Scott Williams was 17th in the hammer throw with a toss of 32.18 meters (105 feet, seven inches) while sophomore Shawn Nelson was 22nd with a distance of 26.64 meters (87 feet, five inches). Freshman Michael Lesoine placed 18th in the shot put with a distance of 8.45 meters (27 feet, nine inches) while Corey was 15th in the discus with a toss of 28.85 meters (94 feet, eight inches). Freshman Dan Waingarten finished 18th in the discus at 27.25 meters (89 feet, five inches).

Corey was ninth in the long jump at 6.10 meters (20 feet, 1/4 inches) while Paul was 14th at 5.83 meters (19 feet, 1 3/4 inches). Freshman Michael El Kazzaz placed eighth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.81 meters (12 feet, six inches) while freshman Casey Hoffman was tenth at a height of 3.65 meters (12 feet).

At Quaker Invitational hosted by the University of Pennsylvania – No Team Scores   Moravian Individual Results

Moravian opened the 2003 outdoor season at the Quaker Invitational hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. The Greyhounds top finisher was senior Matt Bowers with a fourth place showing in the hammer throw with a toss of 42.44 meters (139 feet, three inches). Junior Scott Williams was tenth in the hammer with a distance of 30.42 meters (99 feet, ten inches) while sophomore Mike Lesoine placed tenth in the discus with a toss of 29.28 meters (96 feet, one inch). In running events, junior Sean McDonnell placed 22nd in the 800 meters with a time of 2:06.12. Freshman Greg Rarick took 24th in the 1,500 meters in 4:14.15 while freshman Will Shimer was 33rd in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:35.44.

At 2003 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships hosted by DePauw University – Tied for 16th of 60  Moravian Individual Results  

Junior Joe Moore captured the 2003 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championship in the long jump with a leap of 7.15 meters (23 feet, 5 1/2 inches) at the 2003 national meet hosted by DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. Moore, who entered the championships with the best jump in the country during the season, was in third place at 6.90 meters (22 feet, 7 3/4 inches) after the preliminaries. Moore becomes the eighth national champion in Moravian history and the sixth from the track & field programs. Moore is the first male Greyhound to win the national championship in a field event. Moravian finished tied for 16th of 60 teams that score points at the national meet with all ten of the Greyhounds' points coming from Moore's national championship.

At 2003 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Susquehanna University – 2nd of 10  Moravian Individual Results    Moravian Relay Results

Junior Joe Moore was named the Most Outstanding performer at the 2003 Middle Atlantic Conference Indoor Championships hosted by Susquehanna University, and he led the Greyhounds to a second place team finish after winning three gold medals. Moore captured first place in the 55-meter dash in a time of 6.65 seconds and he ran a 6.60-second race in the preliminaries. Moore also captured first in the 200-meter dash in 22.82 seconds, and he won the long jump with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying distance of 7.18 meters (23 feet, 6 3/4 inches). Sophomore Scott Silvoy won the gold medal in the 400-meter dash in 50.05 seconds, and Silvoy was the runner-up to Moore in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.06 seconds. Moravian's final MAC Individual Champion was senior Matt Bowers in the 35-pound weight throw with a school record toss of 15.27 meters (50 feet, 1 1/4 inches).

In the other track events, freshman Grant Curry placed seventh in the 55-meter dash preliminaries with a time of 6.79 seconds. Junior Joe Grady placed eighth in the 1,500 meters in a time of 4:15.17 while sophomore Patrick Grogan was 11th in 4:20.34. Sophomore Dan Corey finished 12th in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 8.59 seconds. Junior Sean McDonnell placed 18th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:17.86.

Moravian had three of its four relay teams finish in third place at the MAC Championships. The 4x200-meter relay squad of Moore, Grant, Silvoy and senior Eric Paul was third in a time of 1:33.28 seconds while the 4x800-meter relay squad of Grady, Grogan, McDonnell and freshman Greg Rarick was third in 8:29.41. The Greyhounds' distance medley relay team of Grady, Paul, McDonnell and Rarick finished third in 10:49.39 while the 4x400-meter relay squad of Paul, Corey, Silvoy and freshman John Paul Krupa placed seventh in 3:42.50.

In the field events, Curry was fourth in the long jump at 6.79 meters (22 feet, 3 1/2 inches) while junior John Lesoine was third in the weight throw with a toss of 14.44 meters (47 feet, 4 1/2 inches). Lesoine also placed sixth in the shot put with a toss of 13.11 meters (43 feet, 1/4 inches). Freshman Michael El Kazzaz finished fourth in the pole vault, clearing 4.11 meters (13 feet, six inches) while freshman Casey Hoffman was sixth at a height of 3.96 meters (13 feet). Junior Anthony Merz finished seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 12.21 meters (40 feet, 3/4 inches) while Paul placed 12th in the high jump at 1.72 meters (five feet, eight inches).

At Keogh Invitational hosted by Haverford College – No Team Scores  Moravian Individual Results 

Moravian sent six individuals to the Keogh Invitational hosted by Haverford College as a final tune-up for next weekend's 2003 Middle Atlantic Conference Indoor Championships. Junior Sean McDonnell finished sixth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:05.0 while freshman Greg Rarick took 13th place in the 1,500-meter race with a time of 4:17.7. Moravian other four competitors also ran in the 1,500 meters and included sophomore Patrick Grogan in 14th place at 4:20.2, freshman William Shimer at 16th in 4:23.2, freshman Russell Zaleski in 30th place with a time of 4:40.9 and sophomore Anthony Bisti in 33rd at 4:57.9.

At Robert J. Kane Invitational hosted by Cornell University – No Team Scores  Moravian Individual Results    Moravian Relay Results

Senior Matt Bowers and junior Joe Moore set school records in their respective events to lead the Greyhounds at the Robert J. Kane Invitational hosted by Cornell University. Bowers set the school standard in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 15.25 meters (50 feet, 1/2 inch) for a sixth place finish. He bettered his own school record set back in December by two feet, two inches. Moore broke his own school record in the long jump with an NCAA Division III automatic qualifying leap of 7.38 meters (24 feet 2 1/2 inches) to place third in the event. Moore's jump was eight and a half inches longer than the record he set just one week ago. Other top ten finishers for the Greyhounds included sophomore Scott Silvoy placing second in the 200-meter dash in 23.04 seconds and junior John Lesoine taking seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 15.04 meters (49 feet, 4 1/4 inches), which would have been the new school record if not for Bowers' distance. The Greyhounds 4x800-meter relay team of juniors Joe Grady and Sean McDonnell, sophomore Patrick Grogan and freshman Greg Rarick placed seventh with a time of 8:22.2.

Lesoine had a toss of 11.88 meters (38 feet, 11 3/4 inches) in the shot put while Silvoy ran a time of 51.14 seconds in the 400-meter dash. Moore ran a 7.84-second race in the 60-meter dash while McDonnell had a time of 2:05.10 in the 800-meter run. Grady posted a time of 4:35.14 in the one-mile run and he was followed by Rarick at 4:41.94 and Grogan at 4:44.14. Sophomore Dan Corey posted a time of 9.34 seconds in the 60-meter high hurdles while freshman Grant Curry ran a 24.24-second race in the 200-meter dash. Curry also had a leap of 6.58 meters (21 feet, 7 1/4 inches) in the long jump. Freshman William Shimer had a time of 9:28.80 in the 3,000 meters while junior Anthony Merz had a leap of 11.61 meters (38 feet, 1 1/4 inches) in the triple jump. Rounding out the Greyhound competitors were freshmen Michael El Kazzaz and Casey Hoffman in the pole vault. El Kazzaz cleared a height of 3.96 meters (12 feet, 11 3/4 inches) while Hoffman cleared 3.66 meters (12 feet).

At Lafayette College Quad Meet – No Team Scores  Moravian Individual Results

Junior Joe Moore won the long jump with a school record leap of 7.16 meters (23 feet, six inches) to lead the Greyhounds at the non-scoring Lafayette College Quad Meet. Moore also placed fifth in the 60-yard dash in 6.68 seconds in the finals after a 6.67 in the preliminaries. Junior Joe Grady finished fourth in the mile in 4:42.11, and he was also fourth in the 880-yard run with a time of 2:07.68. Senior Matt Bowers took fourth in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 14.54 meters (47 feet, 8 1/2 inches) while junior John Lesoine was fifth in the weight throw with a distance of 14.01 meters (45 feet, 11 3/4 inches). Lesoine finished seventh in the shot put with a toss of 12.51 meters (41 feet. 1/2 inch). Sophomore Dan Corey finished fifth in the high jump, clearing five feet, seven inches (1.70 meters), and he was fifth in the 60-yard high hurdles in 8.65 seconds. Corey was seventh in the 1,000 meters in 3:09.25 and ninth in the shot put with a distance of 10.82 meters (35 feet, six inches). Corey ran a time of 8.60 seconds in the 60-yard hurdle preliminaries. Rounding out the top five finishers for the Greyhounds was junior Sean McDonnell with a fifth place finish in the mile run in a time of 4:45.94.

Sophomore Patrick Grogan placed sixth in the mile with a time of 4:47.11 while freshman Will Shimer was seventh in 4:48.01 and freshman Russell Zaleski took tenth in 5:08.38. Freshman John Paul Krupa placed sixth in the 880-yard run in 2:09.99 while junior Anthony Merz finished seventh in the long jump with a leap of 6.13 meters (20 feet, 1 1/2 inches) and tenth in the 60-yard dash preliminaries in 6.94 seconds. Freshman Grant Currey was eighth in the 60-yard dash preliminaries with a time of 6.82 seconds and he finished ninth in the long jump at 6.01 meters (19 feet, 8 3/4 inches). Senior Eric Paul placed sixth in the 1,000 meters in 2:54.84, eighth in the 60-yard hurdle preliminaries in 9.23 seconds and 11th in the shot put with a distance of 10.26 meters (33 feet, eight inches). Freshman Michael El Kazzaz tied for sixth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.19 meters (13 feet, nine inches) while freshman Casey Hoffman was tied for 11th at 3.73 meters(12 feet, three inches). Freshman Ryan Quattrone was ninth in the 60-yard hurdle preliminaries with a time of 10.12 seconds. Freshman Mike Lesoine was tenth in the shot put with a toss of 10.49 meters (34 feet, five inches) while junior Scott Williams finished 13th in the shot put at 9.77 meters (32 feet, 3/4 inch) and tenth in the weight throw at 10.27 meters (33 feet, 8 1/2 inches).

Junior John Lesoine won the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 14.30 meters (46 feet, 11 inches) to lead the Greyhounds at the Fourth Annual DeSchriver Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. Senior Matt Bowers placed second in the weight throw with a distance of 14.27 meters (46 feet, 10 inches) while junior Scott Williams had a throw of 9.04 meters (29 feet, eight inches). The distance medley relay team of juniors Joe Grady and Sean McDonnell, sophomore Matt Oertner and freshman Greg Rarick placed third in a time of 11:07.06. Grady posted a time of 2:05.95 in the 800 meters while McDonnell had a time of 2:06.47 in the 800 meters. Senior Eric Paul finished with a time of 2:10.52 in the 800 meters, and he posted a 9.33 second time in the 55-meter hurdles. Freshman Ryan Quattrone ran times of 25.79 seconds in the 200 meters and 7.22 seconds in the 55 meters. Freshman Casey Hoffman had a 7.06-second time in the 55-meter dash, and he cleared 3.81 meters (12 feet, six inches) in the pole vault.

At Haverford College Invitational – No Team Scores  Moravian Individual Results

Sophomore sprinter Scott Silvoy took first place in the 200-meter dash in 22.8 seconds and freshman Grant Curry won the long jump with a leap of 6.32 meters (20 feet, nine inches) to lead Moravian at the Haverford College Invitational. Silvoy also placed sixth in the 55-meters in 6.6 seconds while Curry was fifth in the same exact time and fourth in the 200 meters in 23.6 seconds. Sophomore Dan Corey took second in the high jump, clearing five feet, six inches and he was third in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.5 seconds. Junior Joe Moore placed second in the 200 meters in 23.0 seconds and he was fourth in the in 55-meters in 6.5 seconds. Junior Anthony Merz placed second in the long jump with a leap of 6.08 meters (19 feet, 11 1/2 inches) while freshman Michael El Kazzaz placed third in the pole vault, clearing 12 feet, six inches. Freshman Casey Hoffman cleared 11 feet, six inches in the pole vault while freshman Ryan Quattrone was sixth in the 55-meter hurdles in 9.0 seconds.

At Princeton University Indoor Relays – No Team Scores  Moravian Individual Results

The Greyhounds had four competitors participate in the non-scoring Princeton University Indoor Relays. Junior jumper Joe Moore led the quartet with a third place finish in the long jump with a leap of 7.13 meters (23 feet, 3/4 inches), which provisionally qualified him for the 2003 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships. Moravian had a pair of individuals in the 35-pound weight throw with senior Matt Bowers placing 13th with a toss of 13.72 meters (45 feet, 1/4 inches) and junior John Lesoine taking 14th place with a distance of 13.36 meters (43 feet, 10 inches). Sophomore sprinter Scott Silvoy was 26th in the 400 meters with a time of 52.80 seconds.

At Lafayette College Invitational – No Team Scores  Moravian Individual Results

Moravian opened its 2002-03 indoor season at the non-scoring Lafayette College Invitational.  The Greyhounds had five competitors finish in the top five in their events led by third place finishes by freshman Grant Curry and senior Matt Bowers. Curry was third in the long jump with a distance of 6.58 meters (21 feet, 7 1/4 inches) while Bowers was third in the 35-lb. weight throw with a toss of 14.59 meters (47 feet, 10 1/2 inches). Bowers broke is own school record by four feet, seven inches with the throw. Junior John Lesoine was fourth in the 35-lb. weight throw with a distance of 14.30 meters (46 feet, 11 inches) while sophomore Patrick Grogan was fourth in the mile run with a time of 4:40.0. Freshman Michael El Kazzaz was fifth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 13 feet. Sophomore Dan Corey and freshman Casey Hoffman tied for eighth at a height of 11 feet, six inches. Corey also placed eighth in the high jump at five feet, four inches, 15th in the long jump at 5.06 meters, 13th in the shot put at 10.90 meters, and 18th in the 60-yard dash with a time of 7.23 seconds.

Senior Eric Paul was seventh in the long jump at five feet, eight inches, 14th in the long jump with a distance of 5.42 meters, 14th in the shot put with a toss of 10.41 meters, 16th in the 500 meters with a time of 1:14.42 and 17th in the 60-yard dash at 7.29 seconds. Curry was eighth in the 60-yard dash with a time of 6.77 seconds while freshman John Paul Krupa placed 13th in 7.06 seconds. Krupka was eighth in the 300-yard dash with a time of 34.32 seconds. Rounding out the Greyhound competitors were junior Sean McDonnell with a ninth place finish in the 880-yard run in 2:09.20, freshman Russell Zaleski taking ninth in the mile run at 5:08.60 and sophomore Anthony Bisti placing 10th in the mile with a time of 5:34.10.
