At 2005 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Widener University – Final Day Results - 4th of 10   Moravian Individual Results      Moravian Relay Results

Moravian finished fourth of ten schools at the 2005 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Widener University. The Greyhounds had a team score of 104 points while Susquehanna University won the meet with 164 points, just one point ahead of the host Pioneers and four points ahead of third place Elizabethtown College. Greyhound freshman Ozzie Brown was named the Rookie of the Year in the meet after winning the 110-meter high hurdles and the long jump on the third and final day of competition. Brown ran an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 14.87 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles, and he won the long jump with a leap of 6.90 meters (22 feet, 7 3/4 inches). Brown was also fifth in the 100-meter dash in 11.28 seconds and third in the 200-meter dash in 21.90 seconds. Brown joined senior Scott Silvoy, sophomore Josh Kline and freshman James Brown in a first place finish in the 4x100-meter relay in a time of 42.21 seconds.

Silvoy placed second in the 100-meter dash in 11.08 seconds and fourth in the 200-meter dash at 22.08 seasons while Kline finished fifth in the 400-meter dash in 51.09 seconds. Sophomore Matt Bailey placed fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.19 seconds, and he was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 54.83 seconds. Junior Greg Rarick took 12th in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:11.28.

In other field events on the final day of competition, sophomore Michael Ossont finished second in the javelin throw with a toss of 53.17 meters (174 feet, five inches). Moravian also had four competitors in the hammer throw with sophomore Patrick Callahan placing tenth with a toss of 37.58 meters (123 feet, three inches), freshman Robert Bernadyn taking 11th at 35.40 meters (116 feet, two inches), sophomore Steve Kondorossy finishing 12th with a distance of 35.18 meters (115 feet, five inches) and senior Shawn Nelson taking 13th place with a toss of 35.13 meters (115 feet, three inches).

At 2005 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Widener University – Second Day Results - 4th of 10 

The Greyhounds were in fourth place of ten schools after the second day of competition at the 2005 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships being hosted by Widener University. Senior Michael El Kazzaz had Moravian's top individual finish of the day, tying for second in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.41 meters (14 feet, six inches). Freshman Nathaniel Dutile placed third in the shot put at 13.93 meters (45 feet, 8 1/2 inches), and he was sixth in the discus throw with a toss of 40.51 meters (132 feet, 11 inches). Sophomore Steve Kondorossy finished seventh in the discus wit a toss of 40.32 meters (132 feet, three inches).

At the end of the second day of competition in the decathlon, senior Dan Corey placed third with 5,420 points while freshman Erik Nielsen finished fourth at 5,338 points. Corey took second in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.40 seconds to earn 688 points, and he was sixth in the discus throw at 25.85 meters (84 feet, ten inches) for 383 points, second in the pole vault with a height of 3.40 meters (11 feet, 1 3/4 inches) for 457 points, eighth in the javelin throw with a toss of 33.88 meters (111 feet, two inches) for 354 points and seventh in the 1,500-meter run in 5:02.67 for 544 points. Nielsen finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdles in 17.28 seconds for 595 points, and he was fifth in the discus at 26.95 meters (88 feet, five inches) for 405 points), tied for third in the pole vault at a height of 3.10 meters (ten feet, two inches), first in the javelin throw with a toss of 47.59 meters (156 feet, two inches) for 553 points and third in the 1,500 meters in 4:54.16 to earn 594 points.

Moravian had several competitors qualify for the finals of their events during preliminary heats on the second day of the championship meet. In the 100-meter dash, freshman Ozzie Brown was first in 11.27 seconds to move onto the finals while senior Scott Silvoy placed sixth in 11.33 seconds, also earning a spot in the finals. Freshman James Bell was tenth in qualifying at 11.54 seconds but failed to move on. Brown and Silvoy both qualified in the 200-meter dash as well with Brown placing fourth in 22.40 seconds and Silvoy taking fifth in a time of 22.42 seconds. Sophomore Josh Kline posted a time of 23.03 seconds in the 200 meters to finish tenth, but he did not earn a spot in the finals. Kline would earn a spot in the finals of the 400-meter dash in 51.28 seconds while Brown was first in the 110-meter high hurdles qualifying race in a time of 15.13 seconds to move into the finals. Sophomore Matt Bailey was seventh in both the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.07 seconds and the 400-meter hurdles in 56.98 seconds to reach the finals in both events.

At 2005 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Widener University – First Day Results - No Team Score  

Moravian had three individuals compete on the first day of the 2005 Middle Atlantic Conference Championship hosted by Widener University with junior William Shimer placing 15th in the 10,000-meter run in a time of 36:09.13. Senior Dan Corey and freshman Erik Nielsen also competed in the first day of the decathlon competition. Corey was fourth in the 100-meter dash in 12.25 seconds to earn 603 points, and he was seventh in the 400-meter dash in 54.35 seconds for 625 points, tied for second in the high jump at 1.82 meters (five feet, 11 1/2 inches) for 644 points, fourth in the long jump at 5.89 meters (19 feet, four inches) for 563 points and second in the shot put with a toss of 11.22 meters (36 feet, 9 3/4 inches) for 559 points. Nielsen was sixth in the 100-meter dash in 12.35 seconds to earn 584 points, and he was sixth in the 400-meter dash in 53.31 seconds for 668 points, fourth in the high jump at 1.73 meters (five feet, eight inches) for 569points, eighth in the long jump at 5.33 meters (17 feet, six inches) for 447 points and third in the shot put with a toss of 10.94 meters (35 feet, 10 3/4 inches) for 542 points.

At Lehigh University Games– No Team Scores  Moravian Individual Results      Moravian Relay Results

Freshman Ozzie Brown won the long jump to lead Moravian at the non-scoring Lehigh University Games. Brown had leap of 46.46 meters (21 feet, 2 1/2 inches) to win the event. The Greyhounds had five other top five finishers with senior Dan Corey placing second in the pole vault at 3.35 meters (10 feet, 11 3/4 inches), senior Scott Silvoy tying for fourth in the 100-meter dash at 11.39 seconds, sophomore Matt Bailey finishing fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.20 seconds and freshman Erik Nielsen taking fourth in the javelin throw with a toss of 48.76 meters (160 feet). Moravian's 4x100-meter relay squad of Brown, Silvoy, sophomore Josh Kline and Freshman James Bell was second in a time of 42.59 seconds.

In other track events, Bailey placed seventh in the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.07 seconds while Bell was seventh in the 100-meter dash in 11.66 seconds. Junior Greg Rarick placed 12th in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:09.35.

In other field events, sophomore Michael Ossont was eighth in the javelin throw with a toss of 46.06 meters (151 feet, 1 3/4 inches) while Corey placed 18th at 36.06 meters (118 feet, four inches). Senior Shawn Nelson led a quartet of Greyhounds in the hammer throw with a toss of 39.32 meters (129 feet, 1/4 inch), which placed him 11th. Sophomore Steve Kondorossy was 14th in the event at 36.23 meters (118 feet, 10 3/4 inches) while sophomore Patrick Callahan placed 17th at 32.93 meters (108 feet, 3/4 inch) and freshman Robert Bernadyn placed 18th at 32.45 meters (106 feet, 5 3/4 inches).

At Penn Relays – No Team Scores  Moravian Individual Results 

Freshman Nathaniel Dutile was Moravian's only competitor at this year's Penn Relays hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. Dutile placed 15th of 19 competitors in the College Men Shot Put with a toss of 14.41 meters (47 feet, 3 1/2 inches).

At Leopard Invitational hosted by Lafayette College – No Team Scores  Moravian Individual Results  

Freshman Ozzie Brown won the 110-meter high hurdles and junior Michael El Kazzaz tied for first in the pole vault to pace Moravian at the Leopard Invitational hosted by Lafayette College. The meet was postponed one day due to weather conditions. Brown had a time of 14.79 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles while El Kazzaz was tied with two other individuals at 4.29 meters (14 feet, 3/4 inches). The Greyhounds had four other top five individual finishers at the meet including Brown placing second in the long jump with a leap of 6.61 meters (21 feet, 8 1/4 inches), sophomore Steve Kondorossy taking fourth in the discus with a toss of 39.10 meters (128 feet, 3 3/4 inches), sophomore Matt Bailey finishing fifth in the 400-meter hurdles in 56.72 seconds and freshman Nathaniel Dutile placing fifth in the shot put at 14.59 meters (47 feet, 10 1/2 inches).

In other track events, Brown was sixth in both the 100-meter dash in 11.23 seconds and the 200-meter dash at 22.75 seconds while freshman James Bell took 17th in the 100 meters in 11.61 seconds and 18th in the 200 meters in a time of 23.67 seconds. Sophomore Josh Kline was 11th in the 200-meter dash in 23.10 seconds and ninth in the 400-meter dash at 50.96 seconds while freshman Erik Nielsen was 27th in the 100 meters in 11.95 seconds. Bailey finished 11th in the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.01 seconds while junior Greg Rarick was 13th in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:06.78.

In other field events, Kondorossy took 11th in the hammer throw with a toss of 38.44 meters (126 feet, 1 3/4 inches) while senior Shawn Nelson was 12th at 37.69 meters (123 feet, 8 1/4 inches). Freshman Robert Bernadyn was 15th in the hammer throw with a toss of 34.40 meters (112 feet, 10 1/2 inches), and he placed 21st in the discus with a distance of 27.83 meters (91 feet, four inches). Sophomore Patrick Callahan took 16th in the hammer with toss of 33.48 meters (109 feet, 10 1/2 inches). Sophomore Michael Ossont placed 14th in the javelin throw with a distance of 44.84 meters (147 feet, 1 1/2 inches) while senior Dan Corey was 25th at 37.64 meters (123 feet, 6 1/4 inches). Corey also placed sixth in the high jump, clearing 1.78 meters (five feet, ten inches).

At Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University – Second Day Results - No Team Scores  Moravian Individual Results

The Greyhounds competed on the second day of the non-scoring Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University. Junior Michael El Kazzaz had Moravian's top finish of the day, tying for third in the pole vault at a height of 4.50 meters (14 feet, nine inches). Senior Scott Silvoy placed fourth in the 100-meter dash in 11.11 seconds while freshman Ozzie Brown took fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.13 seconds. Other top ten performances for the Greyhounds included freshman Nathaniel Dutile placing fifth in the shot put at 15.04 meters (49 feet, 4 1/4 inches), senior Dan Corey taking seventh in the decathlon with 5,514 points, Brown finishing ninth in the long jump at 6.54 meters (21 feet, 5 1/2 inches) and freshman Erik Nielsen taking tenth in the decathlon with 5,127 points.

In other track races during the second day of the invitational, Silvoy was 14th in the 200-meter dash in 22.68 seconds while Brown placed 18th in 22.76 seconds. Freshman James Bell was 25th in the 100-meter dash at 11.42 seconds and 32nd in the 200-meters at 23.33. Sophomore Josh Kline placed 14th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.99 seconds, and he was 26th in the 200-meter dash at 23.10 seconds. Junior Greg Rarick placed 21st in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:09.61, and Rarick finished 51st in the 800-meter run at 2:01.64.

In other field events, sophomore Steve Kondorossy placed 17th in both the discus with a toss of 37.60 meters (123 feet, 4 1/2 inches) and the hammer throw with a toss of 39.55 meters (129 feet, 9 1/4 inches). Senior Shawn Nelson was 20th in the hammer throw with a toss of 37.04 meters (121 feet, 6 1/2 inches) while freshman Robert Bernadyn took 25th in the hammer at 33.82 meters (110 feet, 11 3/4 inches) and 26th in the discus with a toss of 34.13 meters (112 feet). Sophomore Michael Ossont placed 22nd in the javelin throw with a toss of 46.62 meters (152 feet, 11 3/4 inches).

At Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University – First Day Results - No Team Scores 

Moravian had three individuals compete on the first day of the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University with junior William Shimer placing 97th in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 16:22.28. Senior Dan Corey and freshman Erik Nielsen also competed in the first day of the decathlon competition. Corey was sixth in the 100-meter dash in 11.95 seconds to earn 661 points, and he was seventh in the 400-meter dash in 54.08 seconds for 636 points, tied for fifth in the high jump at 1.74 meters (five feet, 8 1/2 inches) for 577 points, sixth in the long jump at 6.16 meters (20 feet, 2 1/2 inches) for 621 points and fourth in the shot put with a toss of 11.21 meters (36 feet, 9 1/2 inches) for 559 points. Nielsen was 18th in the 100-meter dash in 12.45 seconds to earn 565 points, and he was 15th in the 400-meter dash in 55.52 seconds for 578 points, tied for ninth in the high jump at 1.69 meters (five feet, 6 1/2 inches) for 536 points, 19th in the long jump at 5.40 meters (17 feet, 8 3/4 inches) for 461 points and eighth in the shot put with a toss of 10.01 meters (32 feet, 10 1/4 inches) for 486 points.

At University of Delaware Invitational – 3rd of 10 NCAA Division II/III schools   Moravian Individual Results    Moravian Relay Results

After having two meets cancelled by weather, Moravian finally had a chance to open its 2005 outdoor season, and the Greyhounds placed third of ten NCAA Division II/III schools at the University of Delaware Invitational. Moravian had 100 points while SUNY Cortland owned the top spot with 147 points. The Greyhounds had two individual winners with freshman Nathaniel Tussey capturing the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.22 seconds and freshman Ozzie Brown placing first in the long jump with a leap of 6.86 meters (22 feet, 6 1/4 inches). Junior Michael El Kazzaz placed second in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.10 meters (13 feet, 5 1/4 inches) while freshman Nathaniel Dutile took second in the shot put with a toss of 13.66 meters (44 feet, 9 3/4 inches). Moravian 4x100-meter relay team of Brown, senior Scott Silvoy, sophomore Josh Kline and freshman James Bell placed first with a time of 42.60 seconds.

Moravian had five individuals earn third place honors with Tussey taking third in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.01 seconds. Silvoy was third in the 200-meter dash in 22.46 seconds while Kline took third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.39 seconds. Junior Greg Rarick was third in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:07.16 while sophomore Michael Ossont placed third in the javelin throw with a toss of 52.22 meters (171 feet, 4 1/4 inches). Rarick also ran a time of 2:03.04 in the 800-meter run to place 11th.

In other track events, Silvoy was fifth in the 100-meter dash in 11.37 seconds while Brown placed sixth in the 200-meter dash in 22.84 seconds. Kline ran a time of 23.23 seconds in the 200-meters, to place tenth. Bell was 11th in the 100-meter dash in 11.49 seconds and 14th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.51 seconds. Freshman Erik Nielsen took 22nd in the 100-meters in 12.03 seconds while senior Dan Corey was 23rd in 12.11 seconds. Sophomore Matt Bailey placed fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.83 seconds, and he was sixth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.44 seconds. Freshman Ty Kern was tenth in the 110-meter high hurdles at 16.83 seconds. Rarick also ran a time of 2:03.04 in the 800-meter run to place 11th while junior William Shimer took fifth place in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 34:41.81.

In other field events, Corey was ninth in the long jump at 5.79 meters (19 feet) while Nielsen placed 15th with a leap of 5.46 meters (17 feet, 11 inches). The duo also competed in the javelin throw with Nielsen placing tenth at 45.10 meters (147 feet, 11 3/4 inches) and Corey taking 13th at 38.17 meters (125 feet, three inches). Senior Shawn Nelson placed fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 40.77 meters (133 feet, 9 1/2 inches) while sophomore Steve Kondorossy took seventh place with a distance of 37.44 meters (122 feet, 10 1/4 inches). Kondorossy was also fifth in the discus with a toss of 39.50 meters (129 feet, 7 1/2 inches). Sophomore Patrick Callahan was tenth in the shot put with a toss of 11.87 meters (38 feet, 11 1/2 inches), and he placed tenth in the hammer throw with a distance of 35.73 meters (117 feet, three inches). Freshman Robert Bernadyn took 11th in the hammer throw with a toss of 32.52 meters (106 feet, 8 1/2 inches), and he was 16th in the discus at 31.21 meters (102 feet, five inches).

At Trinity (CT) College Last Chance Meet at Yale University – No Team Scores    Moravian Individual Results

The Greyhounds sent two competitors to the Trinity (CT) College Last Chance Meet at Yale University to improve their standing for next weekend's NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships. Freshman Nathaniel Tussey placed fourth in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 7.82 seconds after running a 7.88 second race in the preliminaries. Classmate Ozzie Brown finished fifth in the long jump with a leap of 6.69 meters (21 feet, 11 1/2 inches).

Moravian placed fourth of ten schools at the 2005 Middle Atlantic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Susquehanna University. The Greyhounds had 79 points while Elizabethtown College won the meet with 136 points. Moravian freshman Ozzie Brown was named the MAC Rookie of the Year at the meet. Brown captured his first MAC individual championship with a leap of 6.95 meters (22 feet, 9 3/4 inches) in the long jump, which is a provisional qualifying distance for the 2005 NCAA Division III National Championships. He was fourth in the 200 meter dash in 22.95 seconds and third in the finals of the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 7.93 seconds after a time of 8.04 seconds in the preliminaries. Brown teamed with senior Scott Silvoy, and sophomores Josh Kline and Matt Bailey to help the Greyhounds win the 4x200-meter relay in a Moravian record and an MAC record time of 1:31.08. Brown, Bailey, Kline and freshman Ty Kern combined to place third in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:29.11.

Freshman Nathaniel Tussey won the 55-meter hurdles in 7.74 seconds which is a provisional qualifying time for the NCAA meet, after a time of 7.76 seconds in the preliminaries. Bailey placed fourth in the finals at 8.13 seconds after a trial time of 8.11 seconds. Kern finished fifth in the finals of the 55-meter hurdles at 8.30 seconds with a preliminary time of 8.15 seconds. In the 55-meter dash, Silvoy placed fourth in the finals with a time of 6.67 seconds after running a 6.69 race in the preliminaries. Freshman James Bell was 14th in the trials of the 55-meter dash in 6.90 seconds. Silvoy also placed fifth in the 200-meter dash in 22.96 seconds while Bailey was ninth at 23.36 seconds. Kline ran a time of 23.71 seconds in the 200-meter dash while Bell was 18th at 23.93 seconds. Kline also finished third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.78 seconds. Kern was seventh in the race at 52.59 seconds while freshman Erik Nielsen took 15th in the 400-meter dash at 54.62 seconds.

Junior William Shimer was 12th in the 5,000-meter run while the Greyhounds 4,000-meter distance relay team of seniors Patrick Grogan and Dan Corey, junior Greg Rarick and freshman Erik Boyer took sixth with a time of 10:52.10. Grogan, Rarick and Boyer teamed up with freshman Jeffrey Meltzer to run a time of 8:42.47 in the 4x800-meter relay to place eighth.

In the field events, junior Michael El Kazzaz tied for second in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.42 meters (14 feet, six inches). Sophomore Steve Kondorossy finished third in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 14.29 meters (46 feet, 10 3/4 inches) while freshman Robert Bernadyn was seventh at 12.81 meters (42 feet, 1/2 inches). Corey was 16th in the high jump at 1.77 meters (five feet, ten inches) while Nielsen was 17th in the long jump with a leap of 5.53 meters (18 feet, 1 3/4 inches). Sophomore Patrick Callahan placed 15th in the shot put with a toss of 11.76 meters (38 feet, seven inches).

At Keogh Invitational hosted by Haverford College – No Team Scores    Moravian Individual Results  

Moravian had four competitors at the Keogh Invitational hosted by Haverford College in the Greyhounds final tune-up before the 2005 Middle Atlantic Conference Indoor Championships next weekend. Freshman Erik Nielsen finished ninth in the 400-meter dash in 54.58 seconds. Junior Greg Rarick placed 13th in the mile run with a time of 4:37.61 while freshman Erik Boyer was 24th in 4:54.68. Freshman Jeffrey Meltzer took 28th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:11.37.

At 17th Annual Bucknell University Winter Classic – No Team Scores    Moravian Individual Results  

Freshman Ozzie Brown and junior Michael El Kazzaz each captured first place in their events to lead Moravian at the 17th Annual Bucknell University Winter Classic. Brown won the long jump with a lead of 6.83 meters (22 feet, five inches) while El Kazzaz was tied for first in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.50 meters (14 feet, nine inches).

The Greyhounds had eight other top five finishes in the meet with senior Scott Silvoy placing second in the 60-meter dash in 7.17 seconds. Sophomore Josh Kline took second in the 200-meter dash in 23.04 seconds, and Kline was also second in the 500-meter run in 1:09.73. Brown placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.60 seconds while freshman Nathaniel Tussey was third at 8.57 meters. In the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles, Tussey was second with a time of 8.50 seconds while Brown was third at 8.54 seconds. Freshman James Bell placed fourth in the 60-meter dash in 7.21 seconds while freshman Allan Fatzinger was tied for fifth in the pole vault at 4.05 meters (13 feet, 3 1/2 inches). Freshman Nathaniel Dutile placed fourth in the shot put with a toss of 13.82 meters (45 feet, 4 1/4 inches).

Tussey also ran a time of 7.63 seconds to place 25th in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash while Brown had a time of 23.35 to finish eighth in the 200-meter dash. Bell was 15th in the 400-meter dash in a time of 54.54 seconds while freshman Erik Nielsen finished 17th at 56.70 seconds. Freshman Ty Kern was tenth in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles in 8.75 seconds.

In the distance events, junior Greg Rarick was 12th in the mile run with a time of 4:35.36, and he placed 14th in the 1,000-meter run at 2:45.00. Senior Patrick Grogan was 18th in the mile with a time of 4:49.61 while junior Will Shimer placed 11th in the 3,000-meter run in 9:39.90. Freshman Jeffrey Meltzer took 21st place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:10.77.

In field events, freshman Robert Bernadyn was seventh in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 11.38 meters (37 feet, four inches. Senior Dan Corey was tied for sixth in the high jump at 1.76 meters (five feet, 9 1/4 inches) and 11th in the long jump at 5.78 meters (18 feet, 11 3/4 inches).

At 6th Annual Dick DeSchriver Invitational Hosted by East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania – No Team Scores    Moravian Individual Results     Moravian Relay Results

Moravian had seven student-athletes and two relay teams compete at the 6th Annual Dick DeSchriver Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. Freshman Ozzie Brown and sophomore Josh Kline each had fifth place finishes for the Greyhounds in the competition. Brown was fifth in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 8.04 seconds after placing fourth in the preliminaries at 8.07 seconds. Kline took fifth in the 500-meter run in 1:10.27. Sophomore Matt Bailey ran a time of 8.25 seconds in the 55-meter hurdles, which placed him 11th, and Bailey was ninth in the 500-meter run in 1:11.36. Freshman James Bell took 16th in the preliminaries of the 55-meter dash in 6.85 seconds.

In field events, freshman Robert Bernadyn finished 12th in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 12.15 meters (39 feet, 10 1/2 inches). Sophomore Patrick Callahan was 23d in the shot put at 11.04 meters (36 feet, three inches) while freshman Nathaniel Dutile failed to record a distance in the competition.

Moravian's 4x200-meter relay team of Bailey, Brown, Bell and Kline placed fourth in a time of 1:33.65 while the 4,000-meter distance medley relay squad of senior Patrick Grogan, senior Dan Corey, freshman Erik Boyer and junior William Shimer finished ninth with a time of 11:22.25.

At Muhlenberg College Pentathlon – No Team Scores     Moravian Individual Results     

The Greyhounds had two student-athletes compete in the Muhlenberg College Pentathlon with senior Dan Corey finishing second with 2,940 points and freshman Erik Nielsen finishing third with 2,816 points. There were a total of eight competitors in the pentathlon. Corey placed second in the 55-meter high hurdles in 8.5 seconds, earning 667 points. He was third in the long jump at 5.74 meters (18 feet, 10 inches) for 531 points while winning the shot put at 11.41 meters (37 feet, 5 1/4 inches) for 571 points. Corey tied for second in the high jump at 1.82 meters (five feet, 11 1/2 inches), worth 644 points, and he was sixth in the 1,000-meter run at 3:14.5 for 527 points. Nielsen tied for fifth in the 55-meter high hurdles in 9.5 seconds, earning 454 points. He was second in the long jump at 6.05 meters (19 feet, 10 1/4 inches) for 597 points while placing fifth the shot put at 10.21 meters (33 feet, six inches) for 498 points. Nielsen tied for fourth in the high jump at 1.76 meters (five feet, 9 1/4 inches), worth 593 points, and he won the 1,000-meter run at 2:58.8 for 674 points.

Moravian had 11 student-athletes and a relay team compete on the second day of the 8th Annual Bison Open hosted by Bucknell University. Freshman Nate Dutile had the best finish of the day for the Greyhounds, placing fourth in the shot put with a toss of 14.81 meters (48 feet, 7 1/4 inches). Junior Michael El Kazzaz tied for fifth in the pole vault, clearing 14 feet, nine inches (4.49 meters) while freshman Allan Fatzinger failed to clear a height in the pole vault. Freshman Ozzie Brown placed tenth in the long jump with a leap of 6.51 meters (21 feet, 4 1/4 inches).

Senior Scott Silvoy ran a time of 7.25 seconds in his preliminary heat of the 60-meter dash, which placed him fourth, and Silvoy also had a time of 23.25 seconds in his heat of the 200-meter dash, which was second in the heat. Freshman Jim Bell ran a time of 7.36 seconds in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash, placing fifth in his heat while sophomore Matt Bailey was fourth in his heat of the 200-meter dash in 24.00 seconds. Sophomore Josh Klein won his heat of the 400-meter dash in 51.00 seconds, and he was eighth overall. The Greyhounds 4x400-meter relay team of Brown, Bell, Kline and Bailey placed second in its heat with a time of 3:33.07.

Junior Greg Rarick placed fourth in his heat of the mile run with a time of 4:41.14, and Rarick was sixth in his section of the 1,000-meter run in 2:45.38. Freshman Erik Nielsen placed ninth in the heptathlon with a school record 3,942 points while senior Dan Corey was 16th with 2,904 points after the second day of the competition.

At 8th Annual Bison Open Hosted by Bucknell University – No Team Scores - First Day Results   

Freshman Nathaniel Tussey had the Greyhounds top finish on the first day of the 8th Annual Bison Open hosted by Bucknell University, finishing third in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.40 seconds. In the preliminaries, Tussey won his heat with a time of 8.44 seconds while freshman Ty Kern was third in the heat at 8.87 seconds. Kern ran a time of 9.18 for eighth place in the unattached finals. Sophomore Matt Bailey made the finals with a time of 8.71 seconds in the preliminary but was disqualified by a false start. Freshman Ozzie Brown was fourth in his preliminary heat of the 60-meter hurdles in 8.78 seconds. Freshman Rob Bernadyn placed 18th in the finals of the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 12.73 meters.

Senior Dan Corey and freshman Erik Nielsen each competed in the first day of the in the heptathlon. Corey was 12th in the 60-meter dash in 7.69 seconds, earning 653 points, and he was sixth in the shot put with a toss of 11.12 meters (36 feet, 5 3/4 inches), worth 553 points. Corey did not register a height in the high jump and fouled in the long jump. Nielsen finished 16th in the 60-meter dash in 7.81 seconds for 616 points, tied for eighth in the high jump at 1.76 meters (five feet, 9 1/4 inches) for 593 points, 11th in the long jump at 5.74 meters (18 feet, ten inches) for 531 points and tenth in the shot put at 10.21 meters (33 feet, six inches) for 498 points.

At Orange & Maroon Classic Hosted by Susquehanna University – No Team Scores   Moravian Individual Results     Moravian Relay Results

Freshman Nathaniel Tussey had the Greyhounds top finish at the Orange and Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna University, winning the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 7.75 seconds. Moravian had two other runners in the race with freshman Ty Kern placing fourth in 8.12 seconds and sophomore Matt Bailey finishing fifth in a time of 8.18 seconds. Senior Dan Corey had run a time of 8.67 in the preliminaries. Bailey also finished second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.32 seconds while senior Scott Silvoy was fourth in 23.43 seconds and freshman Jim Bell was 16th in 24.20 seconds. Silvoy also placed eighth in the 55-meter dash in 6.74 seconds while Bell finished 9th at 6.77 seconds. Freshman Ozzie Brown was 14th in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.83 seconds, and he was 14th in the 400-meter dash at 54.38 seconds. Bell ran a time of 54.69 seconds in the 400-meter dash, good enough for 17th place, while sophomore Josh Kline finished fifth in the 400-meter dash at 52.20 seconds. Moravian’s 4x400-meter relay squad of Bailey, Kline, Kern and Corey placed sixth in a time of 3:35.39.

In the distance events, junior Greg Rarick placed 24th in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:09.15, and he was 13th in the 1,500 meters at 4:19.78. Freshman Erik Boyer placed 27th in the 800 meters at 2:10.68 while freshman Jeffrey Meltzer was 33rd in 2:18.20 and Corey was 39th at 2:29.06. Senior Patrick Grogan finished 26th in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:31.46. Junior William Shimer placed seventh in the 5,000-meters with a time of 16:55.97 while freshman Timothy Pagano placed tenth at 17:07.71.

In the field events, sophomore Steve Kondorossy was eighth in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 41 feet, five inches (12.62 meters) while freshman Rob Bernadyn took 11th place with a distance of 39 feet, eight inches (12.09 meters). Sophomore Patrick Callahan was 15th in the shot put with a toss of 34 feet, two inches (10.41 meters). In the jumps, freshman Erik Nielsen was tied for 12th in the high jump, clearing five feet, eight inches (1.73 meters). Freshman Allan Fatzinger tied for tenth in the pole vault with a height of 12 feet, six inches (3.81 meters). In the long jump, Corey was tied for 16th at 5.73 meters (18 feet, 9 ½ inches), Nielsen was 18th at 5.72 meters (18 feet, 9 ¼ inches) and sophomore Dominic Nigito was 23rd with a leap of 5.39 meters (17 feet, 8 ¼ inches).

At Great Dane Classic Hosted by University of Albany at Armory Track & Field Center, New York, New York – 12th of 12    Moravian Individual Results     Moravian Relay Results

The Greyhounds returned to action after more than a month off at the Great Dane Classic hosted by the University of Albany at the Armory Track and Field Center in New York City. Moravian placed 12th of the 12 competing teams with four points while Monmouth University was first at 118 points. The Greyhounds were the only NCAA Division III school at the meet. Moravian's four points came on a fifth place finish by freshman Nate Dutile in the shot put with a toss of 14.86 meters (48 feet, nine inches). In other field events, junior Michael El Kazzaz placed tenth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.35 meters (14 feet, 3 1/4 inches).

In the sprint events, senior Scott Silvoy placed 26th in the preliminaries of the 55-meter dash in 6.80 seconds, and Silvoy finished 22nd in the 200-meter dash at 23.05 seconds. Sophomore Josh Kline was 25th in the 200-meter dash in 23.54 seconds while freshman Ty Kern took 20th place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.40 seconds. In the 55-meter hurdles, sophomore Matt Bailey placed 15th in the preliminaries with a time of 8.01 seconds while freshman Nathaniel Tussey was 17th at 8.08 seconds.

Moravian's 4x400 meter relay team of Kline, Bailey, Kern and senior Dan Corey placed 15th in a time of 3:33.07.

At Lafayette College Invitational – No Team Scores    Moravian Individual Results

Moravian began its 2004-05 indoor season at the non-scoring Lafayette College Invitational.  The Greyhounds had two individual winners with junior Michael El Kazzaz capturing first place in the pole vault, clearing a height of 14 feet, six inches, and freshman Ozzie Brown placing first in the long jump with a leap of 7.01 meters. In other field events, senior Dan Corey and freshman Erik Nielsen tied for third in the high jump at five feet, 11 inches.

In the throwing events, sophomore Steve Kondorossy was fifth in the 35-pound weight throw at 12.17 meters while freshman Rob Bernadyn was sixth with a toss of 11.69 meters and junior Samir Perez finished seventh with a distance of 11.29 meters. Freshman Nate Dutile was fifth in the shot put with a toss of 13.09 meters while sophomore Patrick Callahan was seventh at 11.90 meters. Corey placed 11th in the event with a distance of 10.10 meters in the shot put while Nielsen was 13th at 9.75 meters.

Freshman Nate Tussey led Moravian in the sprint events, finishing third in the 60-yard hurdles with a time of 7.81 seconds in the finals after a time of 8.44 in the preliminaries. Sophomore Matt Bailey had a time of 8.08 seconds in the preliminaries while freshman Ty Kern posted a time of 8.24 seconds. Brown ran a time of 6.72 seconds in the 60-yard dash preliminaries while freshman James Bell had a time of 6.95 seconds in the preliminaries. El Kazzaz also ran a time of 7.24 seconds in the first round.

Corey had a time of 56.90 seconds in the 440-yard dash while Kern had a time of 34.61 seconds in the 300-yard dash. Nielsen ran a time of 2:18.0 in the 880-yard run.
