Moravian senior Nathaniel Tussey earned All-American honors in both the 110-meter high hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles on the final day of the 2008 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. The Greyhounds tied for 17th of 81 teams scoring points with a total of 18 points to tie with Central (IA) College. McMurry (TX) University won the men’s title with 35 points while SUNY Cortland was second with 33 points and Whitworth University was third with 31 points.
Tussey became an All-American for the second time in his career with a fifth place finish in a time of 14.50 seconds to earn four points for Moravian’s team score. Greyhound senior Ozzie Brown, who won the decathlon national championship on Friday, placed ninth in the finals in a time of 15.13 seconds after hitting a hurdle.
Less than two hours later, Tussey would earn All-America honors again with another fifth place finish, this time in the 400-meter hurdles with a Moravian record time of 52.01 seconds. Tussey’s fifth place added another four points to the Greyhounds’ team score.

Moravian senior Ozzie Brown won the 2008 NCAA Division III National Championship in the decathlon at the 2008 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships being hosted by the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. The national title is the second for Brown this year, making him the second Moravian student-athlete to win multiple national championships in the same year. Jeff Cullingford won the 800-meter run indoors and outdoors back in 1990.
Brown won the long jump title at the 2008 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field National Championships. Brown won the decathlon with a Moravian school record and NCAA Division III season best point total of 7,192, 66 points ahead of Kyle Steiner from Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Brown’s ten team points for winning the national championship currently has Moravian in a tie for sixth place of the 48 teams that have scored a point through two days of the three-day meet. The University of St. Thomas (MN) is currently first with 19 team points.
Brown entered the second day of competition in the decathlon with a 344 point lead. He began the second day by placing first in the 110-meter high hurdles in 14.64 seconds to earn 894 points. Brown then placed eight in the discus throw with a toss of 35.59 meters (116 feet, nine inches) for 576 points to build a lead of 382 points heading into the final three events. Brown was fifth in the pole vault, clearing 4.15 meters (13 feet, 7 ¼ inches) to earn 659 points, and then he placed ninth in the javelin throw with a toss of 42.96 meters (140 feet, 11 inches) for 485 to enter the final event with a 235 point lead. Brown completed the decathlon with a tenth place finish in the final event, the 1,500-meter run in 4:47.09 to earn 636 points and clinch the national championship. Brown's 7,192 points is the seventh highest point total in NCAA Division III history.
In other action on the second day of the NCAA Championships, Brown and senior Nathaniel Tussey both qualified for the finals of the 110-meter high hurdles on Saturday. Brown, who ran the preliminary between the decathlon pole vault and javelin, was fourth in his heat and the ninth and final qualifier for the finals in a time of 14.57 seconds. Tussey was third in his heat and fourth overall with a time of 14.37 seconds to advance to the finals on Saturday at 1:55 p.m. central time. Tussey will be in lane three for the finals while Brown, who entered the meet with the fastest time of the season in the nation at 14.27 seconds, will be in lane one.

The Greyhounds had two competitiors on the first day of the 2008 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships being hosted by the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. Senior Ozzie Brown is currently in first place after the first half of the decathlon. Brown had a point total of 3,942 through five events while Josh Lovell from Linfield College is second with 3,598 points. Brown was first in the 100-meter dash in 11.10 seconds for 838 points, first in the long jump at 7.03 meters (23 feet, ¾ inch) for 821 points, fourth in the shot put at 11.94 meters (39 feet, 2 ¼ inches) for 603 points, first in the high jump at 1.99 meters (six feet, 6 ¼ inches) for 794 points and second in the 400-meter dash in 48.49 seconds to earn 886 points. The decathlon continues on Friday with the 110-meter high hurdles, the discus, the pole vault, the javelin and the 1,500-meter run.
Brown also competed in the long jump competition on Thursday evening immediately following the decathlon competition. Brown won the 2008 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championship in the long jump and was the first jumper of the competition. He ended up finishing sixth in his flight and 13th overall with a jump of 6.74 meters (22 feet, 1 ½ inches).
Senior Nathaniel Tussey ran in the preliminaries of the 400-meter hurdles on Thursday and placed third and his heat and fifth overall in a school record time of 52.87 seconds to advance to the national championship race on Saturday at 3:25 p.m. central time.

Moravian scored 87 points on the second day of the 2008 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Championships hosted by Springfield College to earn the Greyhounds' first-ever ECAC Championship. Moravian, which was second at the 2008 ECAC Indoor Meet, was first of 53 schools that scored a point with a total of 88 points while SUNY Cortland second with 60 points and host Springfield was third with 52 points.
Greyhound senior Ozzie Brown was named the ECAC Male Outstanding Performer of the Meet, after winning three individual titles and a relay and placing second in a fourth individual event and second relay. Brown won the 200-meter dash in a time of 21.62 seconds, the 110-meter high-hurdles in 14.37 seconds and the long jump with a leap of 7.10 meters (23 feet, 3 ½ inches). Brown was the runner-up in the 100-meter dash in 10.82 seconds.
Brown joined with senior James Bell, junior Robert Shaffer and freshman Eric Woodruff to win the 4x100-meter relay in a school record time of 41.72 seconds while Brown teamed with senior Nathaniel Tussey and freshmen Warner Jones and Connor Skutches for a second place finish in the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 3:19.25.
Tussey was a runner-up in a pair of events. He was second to Brown in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 14.45 seconds, and Tussey was second in the 400-meter hurdles in 53.55 seconds, just one hundredth of a second out of first place.
Other point scorers on the second day of the meet for the Moravian men included Shaffer taking third in the 100-meter dash in 10.93 seconds and Woodruff in sixth place in 11.07 seconds. Junior Blair Maginnis was third in the shot put with a toss of 15.10 meters (49 feet, 6 ½ inches).
At 2008 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships Tied for 24th of 25 schools after First Day Results Complete Meet Results
The Greyhounds are tied for 24th of 25 teams that scored a point on the first day of the 2008 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Outdoor Championships being hosted by Springfield College. SUNY Cortland is currently first with 29 points while Massachusetts Institute of Technology is second with 18 points. Moravian scored one point on the first day with an eighth place finish by junior Alan Woods in the pole vault, clearing 4.40 meters (14 feet, 5 1/4 inches). Senior Allan Fatzinger was 16th in the pole vault with a season best of 4.25 meters (13 feet, 11 1/4 inches) while junior Justin Starcher placed 18th in the javelin throw with a toss of 50.02 meters (164 feet, one inch).
In preliminary action on the first day of the meet, senior Ozzie Brown was first in the 110-meter high hurdle trials with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 14.62 meters while senior Nathaniel Tussey was second in 14.84 seconds, also an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time. Both Brown and Tussey won their heats and advanced to the finals on Friday. Brown was also second in the trials of the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.85 seconds. Junior Robert Shaffer was third in 10.95 seconds while freshman Eric Woodruff took sixth in 11.09 seconds and senior James Bell was 25th in 11.42 seconds. Brown, Shaffer and Woodruff all moved into the finals with Brown and Shaffer winning their preliminary heats.
In the first day of the decathlon competition, sophomore Michael Blenk is is tenth place with 3,128 points. Blenk was ninth in the 100-meter dash in 11.92 seconds for 667 points, first in the long jump with a leap of 6.45 meters (21 feet, two inches) for 686 points, 14th in the shot put with a toss of 9.11 meters (29 feet, 10 3/4 inches) for 432 points, tied for fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.86 meters (six feet, 1 1/4 inches) for 679 points and nineth in the 400-meter dash in 53.41 seconds for 664 points.

Moravian won the team title, had eight first place individual finishers, two relay teams finish in first and five NCAA Division III provisional qualifiers on the second of the 2008 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by the Greyhounds at Rocco Calvo Field and Timothy Breidegam Track. Moravian won with a team score of 277 points, 33.5 points ahead of runner-up Susquehanna University. Juniata College placed third with 151 points while The Catholic University of America was fourth with 52 points. Senior Ozzie Brown was named the Men's Track Athlete of the Meet while junior Blair Maginnis was honored as the Co-Men's Field Athlete of the Meet. Moravian head coach Walter Wandall and his staff were named the Men's Coaching Staff of the Meet.
The Greyhounds had a pair of multiple winners on the second day of the meet with Brown and senior Nathaniel Tussey each winning more than two events. Brown captured the 100-meter dash in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 10.73 seconds, the 200-meter dash in a stadium record and NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 21.56 seconds and the 110-meter high hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 14.49 seconds. Tussey captured the the 400-meter dash in 49.12 seconds and the 400-meter hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 53.28 seconds. Tussey also posted an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 14.53 seconds while finishing as the runner-up in the 110-meter high hurdles.
Moravian's other individual champions were sophomore Michael Blenk in the decathlon with a point total of 5,830, freshman Troy Bertholf in the hammer throw with a toss of 41.94 meters (137 feet, seven inches) and freshman Connor Skutches in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.23. The Greyhounds swept the relays with the 4x100-meter relay squad of Brown, senior James Bell, junior Robert Shaffer and freshman Warner Jones posting a winning time of 42.47 seconds and the 4x400-meter relay team of Brown, Tussey, Skutches and Jones with a first-place time of 3:18.96.
Host 2008 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships 1st of 5 after First Day Results 1st Day Meet Results
Moravian had three first place finishers, three NCAA Division III provisional qualifiers and broke a school records on the first day of the 2008 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships being hosted by the Greyhounds at Rocco Calvo Field and Timothy Breidegam Track. Moravian is in first place with 98 points while Susquehanna University is second at 93.5 points and Juniata College is third with 62 points.
Junior Blair Maginnis won a pair of events on the first day, capturing the shot put with a school record toss of 15.92 meters (50 feet, two inches) on his final throw of the competition and winning the discus with a toss of 41.27 meters (135 feet, five inches). Senior Ozzie Brown won the long jump with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying leap of 7.26 meters (23 feet, ten inches). Brown was also first in three prelminary events on the first day of the meet, placing first in the 100-meter dash in 10.69 seconds, the 200-meter dash in 22.12 seconds and the 110-meter high hurcles in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 14.60 seconds.
In other finals results from the first day of the meet, Brown was second in the high jump clearing 1.93 meters (six feet, four inches) and third in the shot put at 12.41 meters (40 feet, 8 3/4 inches). Junior Alan Woods took second in the pole vault by clearing 4.66 meters 915 feet, 3 1/2 inches) while senior Allan Fatzinger took fourth at 4.05 meters (13 feet, 3 1/2 inches) and freshman Adam Pollini was seventh at 3.90 meters (12 feet, 9 1/2 inches). Sophomore Michael Blenk took third in the long jump at 6.86 meters (22 feet, 6 1/4 inches).
Senior Nathaniel Dutile placed fourth in the shot put with a toss of 12.28 meters (40 feet, 3 1/2 inches) while freshman Zachary Valentine placed fifth at 11.76 meters (38 feet, seven inches). Junior Justin Starcher was fifth in the discus throw with a distance of 35.39 meters (116 feet, one inch) while sophomore Matthew Wisotsky was seventh at 33.86 meters (111 feet, one inch). Senior Vince Pagano was sixth in the javelin with a toss of 46.96 meters ( 154 feet, one inch) while Starcher placed seventh at 46.60 meters (152 feet, 11 inches).
In the distance races, junior Jeremiah Reinhart took fourth in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:06.28, and he was fourth in the 10,000-meter run in 34:03.42. Freshman Connor Skutches was sixth in the 1,500-meter run in 4:08.12 while senior Timothy Pagano was tenth in the 10,000-meter run in a time of 35:28.78.
Blenk currently sits in first place of the men's decathlon after five events with 3,264 points. Fatzinger is in third with 2,751 points while junior Jared Henrie is fourth at 2,671 points. Blenk was first in the 100-meter dash in 11.63 seconds for 665 points, and he took first in the long jump at 6.80 meters (22 feet, 3 3/4 inches) for 767 points, fifth in the shot put at 8.76 meters (28 feet, nine inches) for 411 points, first in the high jump at 1.88 meters (six feet, two inches) for 696 points and first in the 400-meter dash in 53.38 seconds for 665 points.
Fatzinger was third in the 100-meter dash in 11.87 seconds for 677 points, third in the long jump at 5.87 meters 919 feet, 3 1/4 inches) for 559 poitns, second in the shot put at 9.54 meters (31 feet, 3 3/4 inches) for 458 points, fourth in the high jump at 1.61 meters (five feet, 3 1/4 inches) for 472 points and third in the 400-meter dash in 55.34 seconds for 585 points. Henrie was second in the 100-meter dash in 11.83 seconds for 685 points, fourth in the long jump at 5.72 meters (18 feet, 9 1/4 inches) for 527 points, sixth in the shot put at 8.50 meters (27 feet, 10 3/4 inches) for 396 points, sixth in the high jump at 1.52 meters (four feet, 11 3/4 inches) for 404 points and second in the 400-meter dash in 53.53 seconds for 659 points.
In other preliminary action, junior Robert Shaffer and senior James Bell qualified for the 100-meter dash finals with times of 10.82 seconds and 11.15 seconds while placing second and fourth. In the 200-meter dash, Moravian put four other runners in the finals in addition to Brown with freshman Eric Woodruff winning his heat and placing second in 22.21 seconds, freshman Warner Jones in third at 22.27 seconds, Shaffer in fifth at 22.53 seconds and Bell in sixth at 22.60 seconds. Senior Nathaniel Tussey was second in the preliminaries fo the 400-meter dash in 50.33 seconds while Jones took third in 51.20 seconds to advance to the finals. Tussey also advanced to the finals with a second place finish in the 110-meter high hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 14.75 seconds while Blenk reached the finals with a time of 15.82 seconds.

Moravian had three first place finishers and broke three school records at the 2008 Greyhound Invitational at Rocco Calvo Field and Timothy Breidegam Track. Senior Ozzie Brown captured first in three events, winning the 100-meter dash in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 10.63 seconds, the 200-meter dash in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 21.71 seconds and the long jump in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying distance of 7.25 meters (23 feet, 9 1/2 inches). Brown would set the school record with a third place finish in the 110-meter high hurdles with an NCAA Division III automatic qualifying time of 14.27 seconds, and Brown helped the 4x100-meter relay team to a third place finish in a school record and NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 41.88 seconds.
Senior Nathaniel Tussey was third in the 400-meter hurdles with a school record and NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 52.89 seconds, the fastest time in the nation at this time. Junior Robert Shaffer was sixth in the 100-meter dash in 10.89 seconds and sixth in the 200-meter dash in 22.34 seconds while running a leg on the 4x100-meter relay squad. Senior James Bell was tenth in the 100-meter dash in 11.17 seconds and ran a leg of the 4x100-meter relay while freshman Warner Jones took seventh in the 200-meter dash in 22.43 seconds and also ran a leg of the 4x100-meter relay.
In other top ten track results, Freshman Connor Skutches was second in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:01.63 while senior Josh Hunter was third in 4:01.83 and junior Jeremiah Reinhart was fifth at 4:05.64. Skutches also took eighth in the 800-meter run in 1:59.99. Sophomore Steve Parisi was tenth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:27.81.
Junior Alan Woods was fifth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.50 meters (14 feet, nine inches) while freshman Adam Pollini and senior Allan Fatzinger tied for tenth at 4.05 meters (13 feet, 3 1/2 inches). Sophomore Michael Blenk took seventh in the long jump at 6.72 meters (22 feet, 3/4 inch), and he was ninth in the triple jump with a distance of 12.77 meters (41 feet, 10 3/4 inches).
In the throwing events, junior Blair Maginnis was seventh in the shot put with a distance of 14.91 meters (48 feet, 11 inches) while senior Justin Starcher was fifth in the javelin throw with a toss of 49.24 meters (161 feet, six inches) and Fatzinger was tenth at 45.38 meters (148 feet, 11 inches).

The Greyhounds had three competitors in the first day of the 2008 Greyhound Invitational at Rocco Calvo Field and Timothy Breidegam Track as the non-scoring meet began with the hammer throw. Freshman Troy Bertholf placed ninth with a toss of 42.34 meters (138 feet, 11 inches) while junior Blair Maginnis took 12th at 40.50 meters (132 feet, ten inches). Sophomore Matt Wistosky was 22nd with a distance of 33.25 meters (109 feet, one inch).

Moravian had two individuals capture first place finishes and set school record at the non-scoring The College of New Jersey Invitational. Senior Nathaniel Tussey won two events, capturing the 110-meter high hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 14.47 seconds and the 400-meter hurdles in a school record and NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 53.03 seconds. Junior Alan Woods won the pole vault, clearing a school record and an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying height of 4.70 meters (15 feet, five inches). Woods broke C.J. Brown's previous school mark of 15 feet that was set almost 13 years ago.
Other top ten finishes in the track events for Moravian included junior Robert Shaffer placing ffourth in the 100-meter dash in 10.95 seconds, and Tussey taking tenth in the 200-meter dash in 22.51 seconds while senior Timothy Pagano was tenth in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 16:57.43. The Greyhounds "A" 4x400-meter relay squad tied for fifth in a time of 3:25.55.
In the field events, senior Allan Fatzinger tied for third in the pole vault, clearing 4.20 meters (13 feet, 9 1/4 inches) while freshman Adam Pollini was sixth at 3.90 meters (12 feet, 9 1/2 inches). Sophomore Michael Blenk took fourth in the long jump with a distance of 6.68 meters (21 feet, 11 inches).
Senior Nathaniel Dutile competed for the first time this season in the throws and finished seventh in the discus with a toss of 38.58 meters (126 feet, seven inches), and he was fifth in the shot put at 13.88 meters (45 feet, 6 1/2 inches). Junior Blair Maginnis took third in the shot put with a toss of 14.38 meters (47 feet, 2 1/4 inches), and MaGinnis was tenth in the discus at 35.83 meters (117 feet, six inches). Senior Justin Starcher was fourth in the javelin with a distance of 52.26 meters (171 feet, five inches) while Fatzinger placed tenth at 47.07 meters (154 feet, five inches).

Brown was then seventh in the discus with a toss of 30.22 meters (99 feet, two inches) to garner 469 points, fourth in the pole vault clearing

javelin with a toss of 40.65 meters (133 feet, four inches) to earn
452 points and tenth in the 1,500-meter run in 5:13.69 to earn 486 points.

Senior Ozzie Brown competed in the first half of the decathlon at the Bucknell University Bison Outdoor Classic. Brown is first place after five events with 3,778 points after taking the top spot in ever event on the first day of competition. Brown was first in the 100-meter dash in 10.97 seconds to earn 867 points, first in the long jump at 7.01 meters (23 feet) to earn 816 points and provisionally qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championships, first in the shot put at 12.18 meters (39 feet, 11 1/2 inches) to garner 617, points, first in the high jump at 1.88 meters (six feet, two inches) to earn 696 points and first in the 400-meter dash in a time of 50.71 seconds to earn 782 points.

Moravian had five individuals and a relay team capture first place finishes at the non-scored Muhlenberg College Invitational. Senior Nathaniel Tussey won two events, capturing the 110-meter high hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 14.83 seconds and the 400-meter hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 54.04 seconds. Senior Ozzie Brown captured first in the 100-meter dash in a time of 10.94 seconds and first in the 400-meter dash in 48.85 seconds while junior Blair Maginnis won the shot put with a toss of 14.61 meters (47 feet 11 1/4 inches). The Greyhounds 4x400-meter relay team of Tussey, senior Josh Hunter and freshmen Connor Skutches and Warner Jones took first in 3:29.19.
Junior Robert Shaffer was second in the 100-meter dash in 11.02 seconds while senior James Bell took third in 11.31 seconds. Shaffer finished third in the 200-meter dash in 22.78 seconds while Jones placed fourth in 23.00 seconds and Bell was fifth at 23.18 seconds. Jones also took tenth in the 400-meter dash in 52.24 seconds. Sophomore Michael Blenk was eighth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 17.23 seconds after placing fourth in the preliminaries in 16.35 seconds.
In the distance events, Hunter placed third in the 1,500-meters in 4:04.28 while Skutches finished second in the 800-meter run in 1:57.31. Junior Jeremiah Reinhart placed second in the 5,000-meter run in 15:41.45 while Hunter finished fourth at 15;50.00. Sophomore Steve Parisi placed tenth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 11:38.76. Moravian's 4x800-meter relay squad of Parisi, senior Khizer Tariq, junior Jacob Tazik and sophomore Steven DeFazio finished eighth in 8:30.75.
Blenk took second in the long jump with a leap of 6.62 meters (21 feet, 8 3/4 inches), and he was ninth in the high jump, clearing 1.78 meters (five feet, ten inches). Junior Alan Woods tied for second in the pole vault, clearing 4.35 meters (14 feet, 3 1/4 inches) and senior Allan Fatzinger took fourth at 4.20 meters (13 feet, 9 1/4 inches).
Top ten finishers in the throwing events, Maginnis was fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 38.91 meters (127 feet, eight inches), freshman Tory Bertholf finished fifth at 37.63 meters (123 feet, five inches) and sophomore Matthew Wistosky placed eighth at 35.16 meters (115 feet, four inches). The Greyhounds began their 2008 outdoor season with a second place finish of five teams at the Lafayette College ESU 5-Way meet competed at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. The Warriors were first with 97 points while Moravian was second with 72, Lafayette had 60 points for third place, Rider University was fourth with 47 points and Kutztown University took fifth with 11 points. The Greyhounds had five of individual champions with senior Ozzie Brown winning three events. Brown captured the 110-meter high hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 14.63 seconds, and he also won the 100-meter dash in 10.85 seconds and the long jump with a leap of 6.78 meters (22 feet, three inches). Junior Blair Maginnis captured the shot put with a toss of 14.36 meters (47 feet, 1 1/2 inches) while senior Nathaniel Tussey won the 400-meter hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 54.32 seconds. Tussey also provisionally qualified in the 110-meter high hurdles, in 14.73 seconds, finishing as the runner-up to Brown in the race.
In other sprint results, sophomore Eric Woodruff was third in the 100-meter dash in 11.00 seconds while junior Robert Shaffer was fourth in 11.01 seconds, senior James Bell was sixth at 11.40 seconds and senior Vince Pagano was ninth in 11.83 seconds. Woodruff took second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.06 seconds while Bell placed fifth in 23.09 seconds, Shaffer finished sixth in 23.17 seconds and Pagano was tenth in 24.23 seconds. Freshman Warner Jones took seventh in the 400-meter dash in 54.23 seconds. Sophomore Michael Blenk was fifth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.94 seconds while junior Jared Henrie finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:04.43.
Shaffer, Brown, Bell and Woodruff combined to run a time of 43.72 seconds in the 4x100-meter relay, placing second while Tussey, Jones, Woodruff and Brown had a time of 3:32.30 while placing second in the 4x400-meter relay. Moravian's "B" relay squad of junior Jacob Tazik, senior Josh Hunter, sophomore Steven DeFazio and junior Timothy Murphy ran a time of 3:40.36 in the 4x400-meter relay.
Tazik was sixth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:02.58 while Murphy was ninth in 2:04.88. DeFazio took 13th in the 800 meters in 2:06.44 while senior Khizer Tariq was 17th in 2:10.74. Hunter led the Greyhounds in the 1,500-meter run with a fifth place finish of 4:12.06. Junior Jeremiah Rinehart was eighth in the 1,500 meters in 4:15 .21 while freshman Connor Skutches took tenth in 4:24.27, DeFazio placed 11th in 4:25.18 and sophomore Steve Parisi finished 12th in a time of 4:34.25. Hunter would also finish third in the 3,000-meter run in 9:09.70 while senior Timothy Pagano was 12th in 9:32.61 and sophomore Timothy Betz took 13th in a time of 10:09.58.
Blenk was second in the triple jump with a distance of 13.20 meters (43 feet, 3 3/4 inches), and he was third in the long jump with a leap of 6.50 meters (21 feet, four inches). Junior Alan Woods placed second in the pole vault, clearing 4.27 meters (14 feet) while senior Allan Fatzinger took finished sixth a t 3.81 meters (12 feet, six inches).
Maginnis was fifth in the discus with a toss of 37.95 meters (124 feet, six inches) while junior Justin Starcher was seventh at 34.37 meters (112 feet, nine inches), sophomore Matthew Wisotsky placed eighth at 32.27 meters (105 feet, ten inches), freshman Troy Bertholf took ninth with a toss of 31.00 meters (100 feet, eight inches) and freshman Zachary Valentine was tenth at 26.23 meters (86 feet, one inch). Valentine placed fifth in the shot put with a toss of 11.66 meters (38 feet, 3 1/4 inches) and was followed by Bertholf in sixth place at 11.46 meters (37 feet, 7 1/4 inches) and Wisotsky in seventh at 10.89 meters (35 feet, 8 3/4 inches). Maginnis also took ninth in the hammer throw with a toss of 41.75 meters (137 feet) while Witosky placed tenth at 34.44 meters (113 feet). Starcher led the Greyhounds in the javelin throw with a toss of 54.98 meters (180 feet, four inches) while Vince Pagano was seventh at 41.27 meters (135 feet, five inches) and Henrie took eighth at 39.53 meters (129 feet, eight inches).

Greyhound senior jumper/sprinter Ozzie Brown earned All-America honors for the second time in two days and the third time in his career as he finished third in the 55-meter high hurdles in a time of 7.51 seconds at the 2008 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field National Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. Jonathan Garcia of UMass-Dartmouth won the race in 7.46 while Jon Schellin of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater was second in 7.49 seconds.
With Brown’s six points for his third place finish and the ten points from his national championship in the long jump on Friday, Moravian finished sixth in the team scoring with 16 points. A total of 66 schools earned points with the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse winning the team title with 43 points. Brown was fourth in the 55-meter high hurdles a year ago to earn his first All-American honor.

Moravian senior jumper/sprinter Ozzie Brown has captured the NCAA Division III National Championship in the men's long jump at the 2008 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University. Brown, who entered the meet with the season's best jump, leaped 7.31 meters (23 feet, 11 3/4 inches) on his third and final jump of the preliminaries, and the distance held up to win the meet. The runner-up was defending national champion Greg Tyson of Heidelberg College at 7.26 meters (23 feet, ten inches).
Brown, who earns All-American honors for the second time in his career and first time in the long jump, becomes the ninth Moravian student-athlete to win a national championship and eighth in track & field. His jump was his longest of the season after qualifying at 7.29 meters (23 feet, 11 inches). Brown's ten points have the Greyhounds tied for third of 25 teams that had scored points in the team standings after the first day of competition.
"A lot of people were rooting for me, and I just thought about how it wasn’t just for me anymore, it was about my coach, my family, and my friends," Brown said after the events. "My coach (Doug Pollard) past away in October and I dedicated my season to him. I’ve spent three years waiting to be here for the long jump and finally my senior I had my last hurrah with a big jump."
Brown competed in two other events on the first day of the NCAA Championship meet. He entered the meet ranked second in the 55-meter high hurdles, and Brown won his preliminary heat with the day's fastest time of the day at 7.47 seconds to head to the championship race on Saturday at 2:55 p.m. Brown will be in lane four of the finals and is assured of earning All-American honors for the second time in the meet and third time in his career. Brown was fourth in the 55-meter hurdles at the 2007 NCAA Championships.
Brown's other event was the 55-meter dash, which he entered tied for 13th. He ran a time of 6.44 seconds, but finished fifth in his heat and 10th overall, failing to advance to the finals.

The Greyhounds moved up four spots on the final day to finish as the runner-up of the 58 teams scoring points at the 2008 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III Indoor Championships that were competed at Harvard University. Moravian had a final team score of 59 points, ten points behind champion St. Lawrence University and 21 points ahead of third-place Nazareth College, which scored 38 points. The Greyhounds also had one individual champion on the second day of the meet with senior Ozzie Brown capturing the 200-meter dash in a school record time of 21.98 seconds, earning ten points for Moravian.
Brown would earn a total of 35 of Moravian's 46 points on the second day with eight point apiece for runner-up finishes in the 55-meter hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 7.60 seconds and the long jump with a leap of 6.85 meters (22 feet, 5 1/4 inches). Brown also earned five points for his fourth place finish in the 55-meter dash in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 6.47 seconds and three points for a sixth place in the high jump, clearing 1.94 meters (six feet, 4 1/4 inches).
Moravian had three other individuals and a relay team earn points to help the Greyhounds move up from sixth after the first day of competition. Freshman Eric Woodruff was second to Brown in the 200-meter dash, also surpassing the previous school record with a time of 22.14 seconds to earn eight points. Senior Nathaniel Tussey took sixth in the 55-meter hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 7.70 seconds earning three points while junior Robert Shaffer placed eighth in the 55-meer dash in 6.64 seconds to earn a point. Moravian's 4x880-yard relay team of juniors Jeremiah Reinhart and Jacob Tazik, sophomore Steve Parisi and freshman Connor Skutches placed eighth in a time of 8:07.38 to earn a point.
The Greyhounds had two other student-athletes compete on the final day of the meet with junior Blair Maginnis earning a 14th place in the finish in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 15.07 meters (49 feet, 5 1/2 inches) while sophomore Michael Blenk was 21st in the long jump with a leap of 6.12 meters (20 feet, one inch).

Moravian is in sixth place of 35 teams that scored points on the first day of the 2008 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III Indoor Championships being competed at Harvard University. The Greyhounds have a team score of 12 points while Tufts University is currently in first place with 28 points. Moravian had three student-athletes earn points for the team on the first day of action and another break a school record in a preliminary event.
The Greyhounds top finish in an event that was completed on the first day of competition was by junior Blair Maginnis, who placed fourth in the shot put with a toss of 15.07 meters (49 feet, 5 1/2 inches) to earn Moravian five points. Sophomore Michael Blenk earned four points with a fifth place finish in the indoor pentathlon with a score of 3,280 points while junior Alan Woods garnered three points for a sixth place finish in the pole vault, clearing 4.40 meters (14 feet, 5 1/4 inches). In the individual events in the pentathlon, Blenk was first in the long jump at 6.51 meters (21 feet, 4 1/4 inches) to earn 700 points, third in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.14 second to gain 813 points, fourth in the high jump at 1.86 meters (six feet, 1 1/4 inches) for 679 points, tie for eighth in the shot put with a toss of 9.31 meters (30 feet, 6 1/2 inches) for 444 points and ninth in the 1,000-meter run in 3:02.07 for 644 points.
Senior Ozzie Brown would break a 14-year-old school record in the 55-meter hurdles with a first place preliminary time of 7.43 seconds, which automatically qualifies him for the NCAA Division III National Championships next weekend and was also an ECAC meet record. Brown's time was two-hundredths of a second faster than Moravian Hall of Fame Inductee Greg O'Neil which was set back in 1994. Senior Nathaniel Tussey also moved into Saturday's final in the 55-meter hurdles in an eighth place and NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 7.73 seconds. Blenk was 27th in the preliminaries in 8.14 seconds.
Brown also qualified for the finals in the 55-meter dash, placing fourth in the preliminaries in 6.51 seconds. Junior Robert Shaffer will be joining Brown in the finals after taking eighth in the qualifying with a time of 6.57 seconds. Freshman Eric Woodruff was tenth in 6.58 seconds while senior James Bell took 12th in 6.63 seconds.
In other completed events on the first day of the ECAC Championships, senior Allan Fatzinger tied for 12th in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.25 meters (13 feet, 11 1/4 inches) while Blenk was 28th in the triple jump at 12.78 meters (41 feet, 11 1/4 inches).

The Greyhounds captured the inaugural Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Susquehanna University. Moravian posted a team score of 194 points while the host Crusaders were second with 179 points. Greyhound senior Ozzie Brown was named the Male Field Athlete of the Meet after winning the long jump in an NCAA Division III provisional and Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference qualifying distance of 7.11 meters (23 feet, four inches) and the high jump at an ECAC qualifying height of 1.92 meters (six feet, 3 1/2 inches), and he also captured the 55-meter dash in an NCAA Division III provisional, ECAC qualifying and school record time of 6.41 seconds, the 200-meter dash in a school record and ECAC qualifying time of 22.15 seconds and the 55-meter hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying time of 7.60 seconds.
Brown joined with senior James Bell, junior Robert Shaffer and freshman Eric Woodruff to win the 4x200-meter relay in an ECAC qualifying time of 1:31.43, and Brown, Woodruff, junior Jared Henrie and freshman Warner Jones won the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 3:28.66. Moravian's coaching staff under the direction of head coach Walt Wandall was named the Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year.
The Greyhounds had three other individual champions with junior Blair Maginnis capturing the 35-pound weight throw with an ECAC qualifying toss of 15.50 meters (50 feet, 10 1/4 inches) and the shot put with an ECAC qualifying distance of 15.08 meters (49 feet, 5 3/4 inches) and sophomore Michael Blenk winning the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 13.53 meters (44 feet, 4 3/4 inches). All of the champions earned Landmark All-Conference First Team honors for their first place finishes.
Moravian had three individuals and a relay team earn Landmark All-Conference Second Team accolades with second place finishes in their events. Shaffer was second in the 55-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 6.61 seconds while Woodruff was the runner-up in the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 22.61 seconds. Junior Alan Woods was tied for second in the pole vault, clearing an ECAC qualifying height of 4.40 meters (14 feet, 5 1/4 inches) while Henrie, juniors Jeremiah Reinhart and Jacob Tazik and freshman Connor Skutches finished second in the 4,000-meter distance medley relay in a time of 10:50.17.
In other sprint results for the Greyhounds, Woodruff took third in the 55-meter dash in an ECAC quaifying time of 6.64 seconds while Bell placed fourth in 6.65 seconds. Bell was also fourth in the 200-meter dash in 23.34 seconds while Shaffer placed fifth in 23.47 seconds and Jones took seventh at 23.74 seconds. Jones also placed third in the 400-meter dash in a time of 51.75 seconds while senior Vince Pagano placed 13th in 55.84 seconds and Henrie took 15th at 1:05.47. Blenk was fourth in the 55-meter hurdles in an ECAC qualifying time of 8.12 seconds.
Skutches placed third in the mile run with a time of 4:29.48 while sophomore Steve DeFazio took 13th in 5:04.22 and sophomore Timothy Betz was 14th at 5:05.03. Tazik finished fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:03.76 while junior Timothy Murphy was fifth in a time of 2:04.67. Moravian's 4x800-meter relay squad of DeFazio, Murphy, sophomore Steve Parisi and senior Khizer Tariq was third in 8:33.69. Reinhart finished the 5,000-meter run in a time of 16:12.03 to place fourth while senior Timothy Pagano was eighth in 16:57.56 and freshman Jesse Miller took 14th in 18:03.74.
Blenk placed third in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying leap of 6.67 meters (21 feet, 10 3/4 inches), and he was sixth in the high jump, clearing 1.77 meters (five feet, 9 3/4 inches). Senior Allan Fatzinger finished sixth in the pole vault at a height of 4.10 meters (13 feet, 5 1/4 inches) while freshman Adam Pollini was seventh at 3.65 meters (11 feet, 11 3/4 inches). Freshman Troy Bertholf placed fourth in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 13.04 meters (42 feet, 9 1/2 inches) while sophomore Matthew Wisotsky was sixth at 11.85 meters (38 feet, 10 12 inches). Brown rounded out his day with a fifth place in the shot put with a toss of 12.25 meters (40 feet, 2 1/4 inches) while Wisotsky was 11th at 11.00 meters (36 feet, 1 1/4 inches) and freshman Zachary Valentine placed 12th with a toss of 10.96 meters (35 feet, 11 1/2 inches).

Moravian completed its 2007-08 indoor regular season at the non-scoring Lafayette College/Rider University Winter Games at the New York City Track & Field Armory. Senior Ozzie Brown had the Greyhounds' top individual finish, winning the long jump with an NCAA Division III automatic and Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference qualifying leap of 7.29 meters (23 feet, 11 inches). Brown's jump was the longest of the season in NCAA Division III. Brown had two other top ten finished for Moravian, placing fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying time of 8.21 seconds and seventh in the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 22.36 seconds.
Brown was 14th in the 60-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 7.10 seconds while senior James Bell placed 18th in 7.15 seconds. Junior Robert Shaffer took 23rd in the event in a time of 7.19 seconds while freshman Eric Woodruff was 28th 7.22 seconds. Woodruff also placed 14th in the 200-meter dash in and ECAC qualifying time of 22.55 seconds while Bell was 42nd in 23.33 seconds and Shaffer finished 44th at 23.36 seconds. Freshman Warner Jones had Moravian's top finish in the 400-meter dash in 52.12 seconds while junior Jared Henrie 40th in 52.66 seconds and junior Jacob Tazik took 50th in a time of 53.25 seconds. Sophomore Steve Parisi was 37th in the 500-meter dash in 1:10.72 while senior Vince Pagano was 42nd in a time of 1:12.43.
Sophomore Michael Blenk was 28th in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.98 seconds. Freshman Connor Skutches was 14th in the 1,000-meter run in 2:36.54 while junior Timothy Murphy was 54th in the 800-meter run in 2:02.89. Skutches, Tazik, Parisi and junior Jeremiah Reinhart combined on the Greyhounds' 4x800-meter relay team and posted an ECAC qualifying time of 8:08.60, which placed eighth in the meet.
Junior Blair Maginnis had Moravian's other top ten finish, placing ninth in the shot put with an ECAC qualifying toss of 15.07 meters (49 feet, 5 1/2 inches). Freshman Zachary Valentine registered a throw of 11.03 meters (36 feet, 1 1/4 inches) to place 38th. Senior Allan Fatzinger and junior Alan Woods both tied for 15th in the pole vault, clearing an ECAC qualifying height of 4.35 meters (14 feet, 3 1/4 inches).
Blenk was 21st in the long jump with a leap of 6.39 meters (20 feet, 11 3/4 inches) and 21st in the triple jump at 13.04 meters (42 feet, 9 1/2 inches). Maginnis finished 12th in the 35-pound weight throw with an ECAC qualifying toss of 15.09 meters (49 feet, 6 1/4 inches) while freshman Troy Bertholf placed 21st with a distance of 12.77 meters (41 feet, 10 3/4 inches).

The Greyhounds competed non-scored Cornell University Invitational. Moravian had one individual champion as senior Ozzie Brown captured the 200-meter dash in an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III qualifying time of 22.42 seconds. Brown also broke his own school record in the 60-meter hurdles, qualified for the ECAC Championships and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships with a time of 8.10 seconds, which placed him third in the race. Brown finished second in the long jump in an NCAA Division III automatic qualifying and ECAC qualifying distance of 7.24 meters (23 feet, nine inches), and he was fifth in the 60-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 7.06 seconds and fourth in the high jump, clearing and ECAC qualifying 1.94 meters (six feet, 4 1/4 inches).
Moravian's other top eight finishers included freshman Eric Woodruff winning his heat, qualifying for the ECAC Championships and finishing as the runner-up to Brown in the 200-meter dash in 22.81 seconds and senior Nathaniel Tussey taking second in the 400-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 50.47 seconds. Freshman Connor Skutches was fourth in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 2:36.45 while junior Blair Maginnis was fifth in both the shot put with an ECAC qualifying toss of 14.42 meters (47 feet, 3 3/4 inches) and the 35-pound weight throw with a distance of 14.44 meters (47 feet, 4 1/2 inches).
Senior James Bell placed tenth in the 200-meter dash in 23.33 seconds, and he was tenth in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash 7.20 seconds while Woodruff was 12th in the 60-meter dash in 7.26 seconds. Sophomore Michael Blenk finished 37th in the 200-meter dash in 24.69 seconds while freshman Warner Jones was 46th in 25.52 seconds. Jones also placed 13th in the 400-meter dash in a time of 54.04 seconds while junior Jared Henrie finished 34th in 57.90 seconds. Blenk took 23rd in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles in 9.18 seconds.
Junior Jacob Tazik was ninth in the 500-meter dash in 1:10.26 while junior Timothy Murphy finished 20th in a time of 1:12.88 and senior Khizer Tariq placed 22nd in 1:13.23. Junior Jeremiah Reinhart was 13th in the mile run in 4:41.70 while sophomore Steve DeFazio finished 23rd in 4:59.55.

Moravian finished first of ten NCAA Division II and Division III teams at the Thomson Invitational hosted by the University of Delaware. The Greyhounds scored 131 points while Temple University won the Division I meet with 149.5 points. Moravian had four individual champions with senior Ozzie Brown capturing the long jump with an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference qualifying distance of 6.88 meters (22 feet, seven inches) and the 60-meter hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying time of 8.29 seconds to earn 20 points. Junior Blair Maginnis won the shot put with a school record, NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying distance of 15.67 meters (51 feet, five inches) while senior Nathaniel Tussey won the 500-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 1:07.59 with both student-athletes earning ten points.
The Greyhounds had three other performances qualify for the ECAC Championships with Tussey qualifying in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.49 seconds, which was second to Brown in the race. Maginnis qualified in the 35-pound weight throw with a second place toss of 14.84 meters (48 feet, 8 1/4 inches) while junior Alan Woods placed second in the pole vault, clearing a qualifying height of 4.35 meters (14 feet, 3 1/4 inches).
Blenk earned four points for placing fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.22 seconds while senior James Bell garnered a point for an eighth place in the 60-meter dash in 7.28 seconds. Freshman Eric Woodruff earned six points for the Greyhounds with a third place finish in the 200-meter dash in 23.53 seconds while Bell earned two points for placing seventh in the race in 23.85 seconds. Junior Jacob Tazik placed third in the 500-meter dash in 1:11.47 to earn six points while junior Timothy Murphy was fifth in the race in 1:11.63 to earn Moravian four points. Sophomore Steve Parisi earned a point for an eighth place finish in the 800-meter run in 2:08.55.
Woodruff was 13th in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash in 7.46 seconds. Freshman Warner Jones was 11th in the 200-meter dash in 24.18 seconds and 11th in the 400-meter dash in 54.00 seconds. Junior Jared Henrie place 12th in the 400-meter dash in 54.47 seconds.
Freshman Connor Skutches garnered eight points for the Greyhounds for a second place finish in the mile run in a time of 4:38.48 while junior Jeremiah Reinhart earned six points for pacing third in the race in 4:38.50. Moravian's 4x800-meter relay squad of Skutches, Reinhart, Parisi and Tazik placed second in a time of 8:22.75 to earn eight points while the 4x400-meter relay squad of Tazik, Murphy, Henrie and sophomore Steve DeFazio placing fifth in 3:42.54 to earn six points.
In other field events, Blenk earned six points with a third place finish in the long jump, leaping 6.32 meters (20 feet, nine inches) while freshman Troy Bertholf earned four points with a fifth place in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 12.81 meters (42 feet, 1/2 inch).

The Greyhounds had two competitors, senior Ozzie Brown and sophomore Michael Blenk, compete in the Muhlenberg College Pentathlon with both surpassing the 3,000 point mark to qualify for the 2008 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships. Brown won the event with a total of 3,715 points while Blenk was second of the eight competitors with 3,078 points.
Brown was first in four of the five events, capturing the 55-meter hurdles in 7.5 seconds for 919 points, the long jump with an NCAA Division III automatic qualifying leap of 7.26 meters (23 feet, ten inches) for 876 points, the shot put with a toss of 12.55 meters (41 feet, 2 1/4 inches) for 640 points and the high jump, clearing 1.91 meters (six feet, 3 1/4 inches) for 723 points. Brown was fifth in the 1,000-meter run, earning 557 points for a time of 3:11.2.
Blenk started the pentathlon by placing second in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.2 seconds for 738 points. He was then second in the long jump with a leap of 6.51 meters (21 feet, 4 1/2 inches) for 700 points before finishing sixth in the shot put with a toss of 8.78 meters (28 feet, 9 3/4 inches) to earn 413 points. Blenk then tied for second in the high jump, clearing 1.84 meters (six feet, 1/2 inch) before finishing fourth in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 3:10.1 to earn 566 points.

Moravian placed fourth of ten teams at the 16th Annual John Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University. The Greyhounds scored 61.40 points while the host Mountain Hawks won the meet with 162 points. Moravian was the top NCAA Division III team in the event and defeated four NCAA Division I programs.
The Greyhounds had three individual first place finishes, all three by senior Ozzie Brown. Brown captured the 60-meter dash in a school record time of 6.99 seconds, and he won the 60-meter hurdles in a school record and NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 8.13 seconds. Brown also captured the long jump with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying leap of 7.01 meters (23 feet). He qualified for the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships in all three events. Brown also scored two more points for Moravian with a fifth place finish in the 200-meter dash in 23.32 seconds.
Other competitors that scored points for Moravian were senior Nathaniel Tussey earning eight points with a second place finish in the 500-meter dash in 1:08.74 and six more points with a third place finish in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.45 seconds, which was an ECAC qualifying time, sophomore Michael Blenk garnering 1.4 points while tying for fourth place in the high jump, clearing 1.80 meters (five feet, 10 3/4 inches) and two points in the triple jump with a leap of 13.18 meters (43 feet, three inches), good enough for fifth place and to qualify for the ECAC Championship and junior Blair Maginnis earning six points for a third place finish in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 14.79 meters (48 feet, 6 1/4 inches) and two points for a fifth place showing in the shot put with a distance of 14.44 meters (47 feet, 4 1/2 inches), both distances were ECAC qualifiers.
Senior James Bell just missed qualifying for the finals in the 60-meter dash, placing seventh in the preliminaries and winning his heat in 7.21 seconds. Freshman Eric Woodruff was tied for ninth in the 60-meter dash in 7.27 seconds while freshman Warner Jones took 21st at 7.55 seconds and Blenk was 25th at 7.65 seconds. Blenk also ran a time of 8.98 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, placing tenth in the preliminaries. In the 200-meter dash, it was Woodruff just missing the scoring, placing seventh overall and winning his heat in 23.61 seconds. Bell was just behind Woodruff in eighth at 23.62 seconds while Jones took 14th overall and won his heat in 24.24 seconds and Blenk was 19th in 24.41 seconds. Senior Vince Pagano also took 27th in the 200-meter dash in 25.03 seconds while junior Alan Woods was 33rd and won his heat in 25.36 seconds and senior Allan Fatzinger took 34th in 25.38 seconds.
Jones placed 12th in the 400-meter dash and won his heat in 54.84 seconds while junior Jared Henrie took 14th in 54.91 seconds and Pagano was 17th at 55.88 seconds. Junior Jacob Tazik placed eighth in the 500-meter dash in 1:10.76, winning his heat while sophomore Steve DeFazio captured his heat and was 13th overall in 1:13.56. Senior Khizer Tariq took 15th in a time of 1:14.44. Freshman Connor Skutches was ninth in the mile run in a time of 4:23.68 while junior Jeremiah Reinhart was 14th in 4:29.35 and sophomore Timothy Betz took 30th in 5:06.28. Junior Timothy Murphy tied for 15th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:07.02 while sophomore Steve Parisi was 28th in 2:15.27. Senior Timothy Pagano placed 13th in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 9:49.80.
Moravian's 4x800-meter relay team of Reinhart, Skutches, DeFazio and Parisi placed fourth in a time of 8:24.39 while the Greyhounds' 4x400-meter "A" relay squad of Brown, Jones, Bell and Vince Pagano was seventh in a time of 3:41.28. The "B" team of Henrie, Tazik, Khizer and Murphy did not place but posted a time of 3:44.03 in the 4x400-meter relay.
In the field events, Woods and Fatzinger tied with four other competitors for eighth in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 4.25 meters (13 feet, 11 1/4 inches) while freshman Adam Pollini was tied for 18th at 3.65 meters (11 feet, 11 3/4 inches). Blenk tied for ninth in the long jump at 6.39 meters (20 feet, 11 3/4 inches) while Brown was 14th in the shot put with a toss of 11.79 meters (38 feet, 8 1/4 inches). Sophomore Matthew Wisotsky also competed in the shot put, placing 24th at 9.10 meters (29 feet, 10 1/4 inches), and he was 18th in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 9.17 meters (30 feet, one inch). Freshman Troy Bertholf was 16th in the weight throw at 12.40 meters (40 feet, 8 1/4 inches).

The Greyhounds returned to action for the first time in a month and a half at the non-scoring Susquehanna University Orange & Maroon Classic. Moravian had five individual and three relay teams earn first place finishes. Senior Ozzie Brown won three events, capturing first in the 55-meter hurdles in an NCAA Division III qualifying time of 7.68 seconds, the long jump with a leap of 6.95 meters (22 feet, 9 3/4 inches), just one-one hundredth of a meter shy of the NCAA Division III qualifying mark, and the 55-meter dash in 6.57 seconds. Brown also qualified for the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships in all three events. Junior Blair Maginnis earned first in the 35-pound weight throw with an ECAC qualifying toss of 15.02 meters (49 feet, 3 1/2 inches) while sophomore Michael Blenk won the triple jump with a distance of 12.91 meters (42 feet, 4 1/4 inches).
The Greyhounds won all three relay races at the meet with the 4,000-meter distance medley relay squad of juniors Jeremiah Reinhart and Jacob Tazik, sophomore Steve Parisi and freshman Conner Skutches finishing in a winning time of 10:54.42, the 4x200-meter relay team of Brown, seniors James Bell and Nathaniel Tussey and freshman Warner Jones winning with an ECAC qualifying time of 1:33.98 and the 4x400-meter relay squad of Brown, Tussey, Jones and junior Jared Henrie capturing first in 3:32.47.
Brown also took second in the high jump, clearing 1.88 meters (six feet, two inches) while Blenk was sixth at 1.83 meters (six feet). Blenk also finished fourth in the long jump with a leap of 6.41 meters (21 feet, 1/2 inch). Junior Alan Woods was third in the pole vault clearing 4.25 meters (13 feet, 11 1/4 inches) while senior Allan Fatzinger was fourth at a height of 4.10 meters (13 feet, 5 1/4 inches) and freshman Adam Pollini finished sixth at 3.80 meters (12 feet, 5 1/2 inches).
Maginnis was second in the shot put with a school record toss and ECAC qualifying distance of 15.40 meters (50 feet, 6 1/4 inches) while Brown placed fifth at 13.02 meters (42 feet, 8 3/4 inches). Maginnis surpassed the previous school record by nearly a foot. Freshman Zachary Valentine was ninth in the shot put at 11.02 meters (36 feet, two inches) while sophomore Matthew Wisotsky placed 12th at a distance of 10.74 meters (35 feet, three inches). Freshman Troy Bertholf finished third in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 12.95 meters (42 feet, six inches) while Wisotsky was 15th at 9.33 meters (30 feet, 7 1/2 inches).
Tussey was second in the 55-meter hurdles with an ECAC qualifying time of 7.81 seconds in the finals after winning his preliminary heat in 7.82 seconds. Brown won his preliminary heat at 7.68 seconds while Blenk placed fifth in the finals at 8.51 seconds and sixth in the preliminaries at 8.31 seconds. In the 55-meter dash, Bell was second in the finals in a time of 6.69 seconds after placing fourth in the preliminaries in 6.70 seconds. Brown won his heat of the preliminaries with a time of 6.66 seconds. Jones took 12th in the preliminaries in 7.01 seconds. Bell was second the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.97 seconds while Jones took third in 24.10 seconds. Fatzinger was sixth in the race in 24.82 seconds while senior Vince Pagano was eighth in 25.07 seconds. Tussey was second in the 400-meter dash in 50.61 seconds while Henrie took ninth in 54.95 seconds.
Parisi finished sixth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:06.19 while Tazik was seventh in 2:09.24. Senior Khizer Tariq finished 14th at 2:13.37 while sophomore Timothy Murphy placed 18th in a time of 2:15.05. Senior Timothy Pagano finished 11th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:17.46. Sophomore Steve DeFazio was 21st in the mile run in 5:04.63 while sophomore Timothy Betz finished 22nd in a time of 5:06.59.
The Greyhounds also had two other teams compete in the 4x400-meter relay with the "B" team of vince Pagano, Bell, Parisi and Blenk finishing sixth in 3:42.10 and the "C" squad of Tazik, Tariq, Skutches and Murphy taking seventh in a time of 3:44.60.

Moravian began its 2007-08 season under the direction of interim head coach Walt Wandall competing at the three-team, non-scoring Lehigh University Season Opener. The Greyhounds had four individual first place finishes, one relay place first and two student-athletes provisionally qualify for the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships. Senior Ozzie Brown captured first in the long jump with a leap of 6.85 meters (22 feet, 5 3/4 inches), the 60-meter hurdles in a school record time of 8.23 seconds to qualify for the NCAA meet and the 60-meter dash in 7.10 seconds. Brown did qualify for the 2008 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III Championships in all three events. Sophomore Michael Blenk was first in the triple jump with a distance of 13.04 meters (42 feet, 9 1/2 inches) while senior Nathaniel Tussey was second to Brown in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.27 seconds, which also qualifies for the NCAA Championships and ECAC meet. Brown and Tussey joined with junior Jared Henrie and freshman Warner Jones for a first place showing in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:32.54.
Blenk tied for fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.07 seconds while senior James Bell was second in the 60-meter dash in 7.18 seconds. Tussey placed tenth in the 60-meter dash in 7.45 seconds and was followed by Jones in 12th at 7.57 seconds, junior Alan Woods in 14th with a time of 7.66 seconds, senior Alan Fatzinger in 16th place at 7.82 seconds, Blenk at 18th in 7.85 seconds and junior Robert Shaffer placing 21st in 8.31 seconds. Tussey also placed second in the 400-meter dash in 51.31 seconds while Jones was fourth in 53.76 seconds, Henrie was seventh in 55.46 seconds, junior Vince Pagano was eighth in the same time at 55.46 seconds and Fatzinger in ninth at 55.88 seconds. Brown was the runner-up in the 200-meter dash in 22.86 seconds that qualifies for the ECAC Championships while Jones was sixth at 24.37 seconds and Bell was seventh at 24.39 seconds.
The Greyhounds also had a second 4x400-meter relay team with senior Khizer Tariq, junior Jacob Tazik and sophomores Steve Parisi and Steven DeFazio placing fifth in 3:46.04. Parisi placed fifth in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 2:46.92 while Tariq was eighth in 2:59.15 and sophomore Timothy Betz finished ninth at 3:01.01. Tazik was eighth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:09.80 while DeFazio took 11th place in 2:16.48.
Blenk was the runner-up to Brown in the long jump with a leap of 6.48 meters (21 feet, 3 1/4 inches) while Fatzinger took third in the pole vault at 4.11 meters (13 feet, six inches). Woods placed fourth in the pole vault, clearing 4.06 meters (13 feet, four inches) while freshman Adam Pollini was sixth at 3.65 meters (12 feet).
In the throwing events, junior Blair Maginnis placed third in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 14.68 meters (48 feet, two inches), and he was second in the shot put at 14.90 meters (48 feet, 10 3/4 inches). Sophomore Matthew Wisotsky placed eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 10.20 meters (33 feet, 5 3/4 inches) freshman Zachary Valentine was eighth in the shot put at 11.41 meters (37 feet, 5 1/4 inches).
