At Penn State-Altoona in ECAC Division III South Tournament Quarterfinal – Lost 3-1 Box Score

           The fourth seeded Penn State-Altoona women’s volleyball team posted a 25-17, 25-23, 18-25, 25-14 victory over fifth seed Moravian College in the 2010 ECAC Division III South Tournament Quarterfinals Wednesday evening.
            The Greyhounds finish the 2010 season with a 22-12 mark, the program’s first 20-win season since 2005.  Sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite and junior outside hitter Katie Moquete, pictured at right, each had 13 kills to lead Moravian while senior middle hitter Christine Reeser had seven kills and two service aces in her final collegiate match.  Freshman outside hitter/setter Kelly Brown had five kills and 15 digs for the Greyhounds while senior setter Christine Poole had 36 assists.  Sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had a team high 19 digs to finish the season with a school record 639 digs while junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had 16 digs.  Senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher added eight digs while freshman right side hitter Brittany O’Hara added three kills.  Sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey had two kills.
            Abby VanLuvanee led the Lions with 15 kills and four blocks while Samantha Link had ten kills, 24 digs and two blocks.  Leah Day contributed ten kills and five blocks while Kelsie Bumbarger had 34 assists, 21 service aces, two service aces and two blocks.  Chelsea Shaulis contributed 28 digs and six kills while Jessica Tirko had 47 digs.

At #4 Juniata College in Landmark Conference Semifinals – Lost 3-0 Box Score

           Fourth-ranked and top seeded Juniata College posted a 25-17, 25-18, 25-10 sweep of fourth seeded Moravian College in the Landmark Conference Semifinals Saturday morning in Huntingdon.  The Eagles advance to the championship match at 7:00 p.m. to take on the winner of second seed Susquehanna University versus third seed The Catholic University of America.
            The Greyhounds, who had their season-best eight match winning streak snapped in the loss, will now wait until Monday, November 8th to see if they have earned one of eight berths to the 2010 ECAC Division III South Tournament that will begin with the quarterfinals on Wednesday, November 10th at the top four seeds.
            Freshman outside hitter/setter Kelly Brown, pictured at right, led Moravian with eight blocks and 13 digs while sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite had six kills.  Freshman right side hitter Brittany O’Hara and junior outside hitter Katie Moquete each had three kills while senior middle hitter Christine Reeser had a pair of kills.  Greyhound senior setter Christine Poole led the team with 17 assists to go with 11 digs and two kills while sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had 13 digs.
            Kelsey Fuller led Juniata with 11 kills, eight digs and a pair of blocks while Drew Barnhart and Amanda Schmidt each had seven kills with Schmidt adding two digs.  Kristin Noetzel had five kills and two blocks for the Eagles while setter Steph Strauss had 24 assists and four kills.  Taylor Harpster added four kills and a pair of service aces while Libby Morrison led Juniata with 15 digs.  Courtney Greenberg had a match high three service aces.

Vs. Goucher College in Landmark Conference Quarterfinals – Won 3-1 Box Score

           The Moravian College women’s volleyball team rallied from a one-set deficit for a 21-25, 25-14, 25-13, 25-15 victory over visiting Goucher College in a Landmark Conference Quarterfinal match Wednesday evening in Johnston Hall.
            The Greyhounds, who have won eight straight matches, will now play top seed and fourth-ranked Juniata College on Saturday, November 6th at 11:00 a.m. in the first semifinal match in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.  This marks Moravian’s third trip to the semifinals in four seasons in the Landmark Conference.
            Senior middle hitter Christine Reeser, pictured at right, led Moravian with 15 kills and four blocks while sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite had 11 kills.  Freshman outside hitter Kelly Brown contributed eight kills and 11 digs while sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had 24 digs to become the first player in school history to reach 600 digs in a season with 607, and she had three service aces.  Senior setter Christine Poole had 46 assists, 11 digs, three kills and a pair of service aces for the Greyhounds while sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey had eight kills and three digs.  Junior outside hitter Katie Moquete added seven kills and three digs in the win while junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had 19 digs.  Senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher had six digs while freshman right side hitter Brittany O’Hara added three kills.
            For Goucher, senior opposite hitter Kasey Quinn had 13 kills and 13 digs while freshman outside hitter Megan Chalk contributed nine kills and 13 digs.  Sophomore libero Ashley Fan had a match high 27 digs while senior setter Claire Sauvage-Mar had 26 assists, 11 digs and five kills.

At Wilkes University – Won 3-1 Box Score

           The Moravian College women’s volleyball team closed out the 2010 regular season by winning its seventh straight match with a 25-20, 15-25, 25-18, 25-22 win over host Wilkes University in a tri-match Saturday.
           Junior outside hitter Katie Moquete led the Greyhounds with 13 kills, seven digs and a pair of blocks while sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey added ten kills and nine digs.  Sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite contributed eight kills and two digs while Senior middle hitter Christine Resser had five kills, three service aces and three digs.  Freshman oustide hitter/setter Kelly Brown had a team high 22 assists to go with 13 digs and five kills while senior setter Christine Poole had 16 assists, seven digs and a pair of service aces.  Sophomroe libero Jesse Krasley, pictured at right, had a team leading 34 digs to break the Moravian single season record with 583 digs.  Senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher and junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt each had 11 digs while freshman right side hitter Brittany O’Hara had four blocks.
            Marissa Harrison led Wilkes with 13 kills, 18 digs and three service aces while Kate McGurk added 12 kills, 19 digs and 12 assists. Alex Zero had 17 assists and eight digs while Erin Nothstein and Allie Kelleher each contributed sigs with Nothstein adding two service aces. Meaghan Williams had five blocks for the Colonels.

           The Moravian College women’s volleyball team earned its 20th win of the season, the first 20-win campaign since 2005 with a 25-13, 25-17, 25-12 win over Penn State University-Harrisburg in the opening contest of a tri-match at Wilkes University.
           Sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey, pictured at right, led Moravian with 11 kills, five digs, three blocks and three service aces while senior middle hitter Christine Reeser had ten kills, three digs and two blocks.  Junior outside hitter Katie Moquete had seven kills and three digs while freshman outside hitter Maura McCormick had four kills and a pair of service aces.  Freshman setter/outside hitter Kelly Brown had a team high 19 assists to go with two kills and two digs while senior setter Christine Poole had 11 assists.  Sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had a team high nine digs for the Greyhounds while senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher had seven digs.  Sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite added five digs and a pair of service aces.
            Amanda Duda led PSU-Harrisburg with seven kills and seven digs while Finesse Hempfing had ten asssits, five digs and three service aces. Jocelyn Mitchell added four kills and six digs.

Vs. Widener University – Won 3-1 Box Score

           The Moravian College women’s volleyball team moved within a victory of its first 20-win season since 2005 with a 19-25, 25-15, 25-13, 25-22 non-conference win over Widener University Friday evening in Johnston Hall.
            The Greyhounds were playing their final home regular season match, and the squad extended its winning streak to a season high five matches.  Moravian trailed in the fourth set, 15-10, before rallying for the victory.  Senior middle hitter Christine Reeser, pictured at right, had a match high 12 kills and five blocks to lead the Greyhounds while freshman setter/outside hitter Kelly Brown returned to the line-up with eight kills and 11 digs.  Sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey and sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite each had seven kills for the Greyhounds with Carey adding four digs and three blocks.  Senior setter Christine Poole contributed 38 assists, nine digs, three kills and a pair of blocks while sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had a team high 23 digs and three service aces.  Junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt also had three service aces for Moravian to go with 14 digs while senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher had nine digs.  Junior outside hitter Katie Moquete had five kills while freshman right side hitter Brittany O’Hara added six kills.
            Junior right side hitter Nicole Merton led Widener with nine kills while junior outside/middle hitter Alectra Edison had eight kills.  Sophomore libero Meghan Spence led the Pride with 34 assists and four service aces while senior defensive specialist Erin Gravelle had 16 digs.  Freshman middle hitter Heather Long had seven kills and four blocks for Widener while junior setter/right side hitter Jamie Bellew added 33 assists, 14 digs, four kills and two blocks.  Sophomore outside hitter Angela DiMaria contributed 11 digs and six kills while sophomore middle hitter Shauna Phillips had six kills.

At Marymount (VA) University – Won 3-2 Box Score

           The Moravian College women’s volleyball team extended its winning streak to four straight matches with a 26-24, 23-25, 25-22, 20-25, 15-10 victory over host Marymount (VA) University in the final match of a tri-match Saturday afternoon. The match was the Greyhounds' fifth five-set match of the year but just the second win for Moravian in five sets.
           Sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey, pictured at right, led Moravian with 22 kills, 15 digs and a pair of service aces while junior middle hitter Katie Moquete had 14 kills.  Sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite contributed 13 kills for the Greyhounds while senior middle hitter Christine Reeser had seven kills, six blocks and four service aces.  Senior setter Christine Poole ran the Moravian offense with 56 assists to go with ten digs, two kills and two blocks while freshman right side hitter Brittany O’Hara had five kills.  Sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had a team high 28 digs to become the second player in school history to record over 500 digs in a single season while senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher contributed 15 kills and a pair of service aces.  Junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt added 13 digs.

Vs. Lycoming College at Marymount (VA) University – Won 3-0 Box Score

           The Moravian College women’s volleyball team won opened a tri-match hosted by Marymount (VA) University with a 25-14, 25-18, 25-21 win over Lycoming College.
            Senior middle hitter Christine Reeser, pictured at right, led Moravian with eight kills, two blocks and two service aces while sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey had seven kills, eight digs and three service aces.  Junior outside hitter Katie Moquete also had seven kills while sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite contributed six kills and three blocks.  Moravian senior setter Christine Poole had 27 assists while sophomore libero Jesse Krasley added seven digs and two service aces.  Freshman right side hitter Brittany O’Hara had four blocks while senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher had a pair of service aces and three digs.  Junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt added six digs.
           Shelby Gear led Lycoming with five kills, four blocks and eight digs while Lacey Sollenberger had five kills. Kendra Bitner contributed four kills and three blocks while Kelly Rose had four kills. Tanya DeWalt added three kills and five blocks in the match while Katelyn McKillop had 23 assists. Emily Abel led the Warries with 12 digs.

Vs. Misericordia University – Won 3-0 Box Score

           The Moravian College women’s volleyball team won for the fourth time in five matches with a 25-18, 25-22, 28-26 non-conference victory over Misericordia University Thursday evening in Johnston Hall.
            Sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite led the Greyhounds with 13 kills and four blocks while junior outside hitter Katie Moquete had ten kills and two digs.  Senior setter Christine Poole, pictured at right,paced the Moravian offense with 35 assists to go with seven digs and a pair of kills while sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had 19 digs, four assists and two service aces.  Sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey contributed nine kills and ten digs while senior middle hitter Christine Reeser had eight kills, two service aces and a pair of blocks.  Freshman right side hitter Brittany O’Hara led the Greyhounds with five blocks while junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt added 11 digs.  Senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher had seven digs for Moravian.
            Sophomore outside hitter Caitlin McCullion led the Cougars with ten kills, nine digs and three blocks while junior setter/hitter Kristin Hoffman had four kills and 13 assists.  Senior libero Shannon Kane led Misericordia with 17 digs and two service aces while junior setter Meghan Hotaling had 13 assists and six digs.  Senior middle hitter Alexandra Goble had four blocks and three kills while junior middle hitter Krystal Burford and freshman outside hitter/defensive specialist Molly Harleman each added four kills.

Vs. The University of Scranton in Landmark Conference Round Robin #2 – Won 3-0 Box Score

           The Moravian College women’s volleyball team finished its 2010 Landmark Conference season with a 25-23, 25-22, 25-21 win over The University of Scranton to close out the second Landmark Conference Round Robin Weekend at The United States Merchant Marine Academy Sunday. With the victory, the Greyhounds clinch the fourth seed in the 2010 Landmark Conference Tournament and will host fifth seed Goucher College on Wednesday, November 3rd in Johnston Hall in the opening round of the tournament.
           Against the Royals, sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite led Moravian with ten kills and three blocks while sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey, pictured at right, had nine kills and 13 digs.  Senior middle hitter Christine Reeser contributed eight kills and three blocks while junior outside hitter Katie Moquete had five kills.  Senior setter Christine Poole had 26 assists while freshman outside hitter Maura McCormick added four kills, nine digs and a pair of service aces.  Sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had 22 digs while junor defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt contributed 13 digs.

           The Moravian College women’s volleyball team opened dropped a 25-16, 25-20, 25-10 decision to third-ranked Juniata College on the opening day of the second Landmark Conference Round Robin Weekend hosted by The United States Merchant Marine Academy.
           Junior outside hitter Katie Moquete, pictured at right, and sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey each had five kills with Moquete adding three blocks.  Sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite had four kills and a pair of blocks while senior middle hitter Christine Reeser and freshman outside hitter Maura McCormick each had three kills.  Senior setter Christine Poole paced Moravian with 12 assists to go with nine digs and two kills while sophomore libero Jessie Krasley had 11 digs.  Senior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt contributed a pair of service aces for the Greyhounds.
            Amy Miller led the Eagles with 11 kills while Kelsey Fuller had nine kills and four digs.            The Moravian College women’s volleyball team opened the second Landmark Conference Round Robin of the season being hosted by The United States Merchant Marine Academy with a 25-21, 25-11, 20-25, 25-15 win over Goucher College.
           Senior middle hitter Christine Reeser, pictured at right, led the Greyhounds with nine kills, four service aces and four digs while sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey had eight kills and 11 digs.  Freshman outside hitter Maura McCormick also added eight kills with eight digs and three service aces while junior outside hitter Katie Moquete contributed seven kills.  Moravian senior setter Christine Poole had 22 assists and eight digs in the match while sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had a match high 31 digs to go with three assists and a pair of service aces.  Junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had six digs and two service aces for the Greyhounds while senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher contributed five digs as did sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite. 
            Megan Chalk led the Gophers with ten kills and 14 digs while Addie Lanzarotta had seven kills and seven blocks. Kasey Quinn had 21 digs while Claire Sauvage-Mar had 23 assists, 14 digs and four service aces for Goucher. Ashley Fan contibuted 13 digs and five kills.

           The Moravian College women’s volleyball team snapped a three-match losing streak with a 25-11, 25-19, 25-17 non-conference win over Cabrini College in Johnston Hall Thursday evening.
            Sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite, pictured at right, led the Greyhounds with 12 kills to go with four blocks while freshman outside hitter Kelly Brown had eight kills, seven digs and a pair of blocks.  Senior middle hitter Christine Reeser added seven kills, three blocks and two service aces for Moravian while junior outside hitter Katie Moquete had six kills and a pair of blocks.  Sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey had four kills while sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had 16 digs and two service aces.  Senior setter Christine Poole paced the Moravian offense with 36 assists while junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had nine digs and a pair of service aces.  Senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher had seven digs.
            Freshman middle hitter Michele Fitz led Cabrini with eight kills while junior outside hitter Alexis Doss had five kills.  Freshman setter Alaina Clark contributed 20 assists and 12 digs for the Cavaliers while junior libero Courtney Abel had a match high 19 digs.  Senior middle hitter Stephanie Recklau and sophomore opposite hitter Megan Ryan each had four kills in the match.

At Claremont-Mudd-Scripps – Lost 3-0 Box Score

            The Moravian College women’s volleyball team closed out its Fall Break trip to California with a 25-14, 25-20-25-11 loss to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
            Sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite had six kills for Moravian while senior middle hitter Christine Reeser and junior outside hitter Katie Moquete each had four kills.  Reeser also had three blocks and three digs while Moquete contributed four digs.  Senior setter Christine Poole had 12 assists for Moravian while freshman outside hitter/setter Kelly Brown contributed three kills and seven digs.  Junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had a team high nine digs in the match while sophomore libero Jesse Krasley added seven digs.  Senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher had six digs while sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey, pictured at right, added a pair of kills and three digs.
            Emily Hudson led the Stags with 11 kills and four digs while Megan Levonian had nine kills and a pair of blocks.             The Moravian College women’s volleyball team opened the second day of its Fall Break trip to California with a 23-25, 21-25, 25-13, 25-19, 15-9 loss to Pomona-Pitzer College.
            Sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite led Moravian with six kills and four blocks while freshman outside hitter/setter Kelly Brown added nine kills, 14 digs and a service ace.  Senior middle hitter Christine Reeser had eight kills, four blocks and a pair of service aces for the Greyhounds while sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey and junior outside hitter Katie Moquete each had four kills with Carey adding six digs and Moquete had five digs.  Freshman right side hitter Brittany O’Hara added three kills and four blocks while senior setter Christine Poole controlled the offense with 38 assists to go with eight digs.  Sophomore libero Jesse Krasley, pictured at right, led Moravian with 33 digs while senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher added 11 digs.
            Eleanor Hughes led Pomona-Pitzer with 13 kills, 19 digs and four blocks while Carly Hite added 13 kills and 14 digs.             The Moravian College women’s volleyball team opened a trip to California over Fall Break with a 25-23, 25-14, 25-18 loss at Chapman University.
            Junior outside hitter Katie Moquete, pictured at right, led the Greyhounds with 12 kills to go along with two digs while sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite had seven kills and a block. Freshman outside hitter/setter Kelly Brown contributed six kills and a team high 13 digs while senior setter Christine Poole had 26 assists, eight digs and a pair of service aces. Senior middle hitter Christine Reeser added four kills and three blocks for Moravian while sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey and freshman right side hitter Brittany O'Hara each had two kills. Sophomore libero Jesse Krasley contributed 12 digs and five assists in the match while junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had eight digs.            The Moravian College women’s volleyball team opened the 2010 Landmark Conference season with a 25-23, 25-19, 24-26, 25-22 decision to host Susquehanna University in the first Landmark Conference Round Robin Weekend #1.
           Freshman outside hitter/setter Kelly Brown had a team high 15 kills to go with 12 digs while sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite had 12 kills.  Sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey had seven kills while senior middle hitter Christine Reeser had six kills and two blocks for Moravian.  Senior setter Christine Poole, pictured at right, led the Greyhounds with 43 assists to go with eight digs and three service aces while freshman middle hitter Brittany O’Hara had three kills and a pair of blocks.  Sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had a team high 18 digs while junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt added 14 digs and three service aces.  Senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher contributed ten digs and a pair of service aces.
           Lindsey Jankiewicz led the Crusaders with 14 kills, seven blocks and four service aces while Kaylee Monga had 12 kills and eight blocks.            The Moravian College women’s volleyball team won its third straight match in its final tune-up to the first Landmark Conference Round Robin Weekend with a 25-15, 25-23, 29-27 non-conference victory over host Philadelphia Biblical University Tuesday evening.
            Sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite led the Greyhounds with ten kills and three blocks while freshman outside hitter/setter Kelly Brown had nine kills and nine digs.  Freshman right side hitter Brittany O’Hara, pictured at right with Savite, contributed seven kills and a pair of blocks while senior middle hitter Christine Reeser also had seven kills.  Sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey and junior outside hitter Katie Moquete each had five kills for Moravian while senior setter Christine Poole contributed 38 assists.  Sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had 15 digs while junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had nine digs.  Senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher contributed eight digs.
            Carly Plank had ten kills, 14 digs and two blocks to lead Philadelphia Biblical while Lindsay Dager added six kills and three blocks.  Rebekah Morrison had 17 assists and ten digs while Ashleigh Colomina added 14 assists.  Joy Bucknam added six kills while Rachel Calderon had 17 digs and five kills for the Crimson Eagles.

           The Moravian College women's volleyball team won its second match at the Gwynedd-Mercy College Tri-Match, defeating the host Griffins, 25-20, 31-29, 25-15 Saturday afternoon.
           Sophomore right side hitter Samamtha Savite led the squad with nine digs while freshman setter/outside hitter Kelly Brown, pictured at right, had eight kills, eight service aces and seven digs.  Sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey contributed six kills while junior outside hitter Katie Moquete added four kills.  Freshman right side hitter Brittany O’Hara turned in three kills while senior setter Christine Poole had a match high 28 assists to go with two kills.  Sophomore libero Jesse Krasley added a match high 17 digs while junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had six digs.  Senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher added six digs for the Greyhounds.
           Rachel Lambert led Gwynedd-Mercy College with 14 kills, eight digs, three blocks and a pair of service aces while Aileen Reilly had five kills and a team high ten digs. Setter Maria Stilwell had 19 assists and seven digs for the Griffins while Kelsey Craig contributed five kills and five digs.            The Moravian College women's volleyball team opened action at the Gwynedd-Mercy College Tri-Match with a 25-16, 25-9, 25-11 win over Keystone College Saturday afternoon.
           Junior outside hitter Katie Moquete, pictured, had a team high seven kills while senior middle hitter Christine Reeser and freshman right side hitter Brittany O’Hara each had six kills with Reeser adding five service aces.  Freshman outside hitter/setter Kelly Brown contributed five kills and four service aces while senior setter Christine Poole had 23 assists, five digs and a pair of kills.  Sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite and sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey each had four kills while sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had ten digs.  Junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt contributed six service aces and eight digs in the match.

           The Moravian College women's volleyball team fell to host Elizabethtown College, 25-23, 23-25, 25-21, 26-25, 15-6 in the final match of the Old Friends Crossover Friday evening.
           Senior middle hitter Christine Reeser, junior outside hitter Katie Moquete and sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite, pictured at right, each had 12 kills for Moravian with Reeser adding three blocks and two service aces.  Freshman setter/outside hitter Kelly Brown contributed 20 digs and nine kills while freshman right side hitter Brittany O’Hara had three kills and two blocks.  Sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey had two kills and a pair of blocks.  Senior setter Christine Poole posted 45 assists, eight digs, two kills, two blocks and three service aces while Krasley had 27 digs.  Junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt added 16 digs while senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher had 11 digs.
           Kelsey Hayes had 13 kills and seven blocks to lead the Blue Jays while Katie Gantz had 12 kills, 16 digs, three blocks and a pair of service aces.  Crystal Agnew had 34 assists and 16 digs for Elizabethtown while Lindsay Palm had seven kills, three blocks and two service aces.  Andrea Weaver had a match high 31 digs for the Blue Jays.

           Senior middle hitter Christine Reeser, pictured at right, led the Greyhounds with ten kills and three blocks while junior outside hitter Katie Moquete added seven kills.  Freshman outside hitter/setter Kelly Brown contributed six kills and nine digs while sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite and freshman right side hitter Brittany O’Hara each had five kills.  Senior setter Christine Poole led Moravian with 30 assists and four service aces while sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had a match high 17 digs.

           The Moravian College women’s volleyball team posted a 25-17, 25-12, 25-12 victory over rival Muhlenberg College Wednesday evening in non-conference action Johnston Hall to give the Greyhounds a 1-0 lead in the annual Matte Award standings.
            Freshman outside hitter/setter Kelly Brown led the Greyhounds with eight kills and nine digs while junior outside hitter Katie Moquete had six kills.  Senior setter Christine Poole led Moravian with 25 assists and five service aces to go with four kills and four digs while senior middle hitter Christine Reeser had five kills and three service aces.  Sophomore libero Jesse Krasley, pictured at right, contributed nine digs and four service aces as the Greyhounds had 16 service aces in the contest.
            Junior middle hitter Jackie Price led the Mules with five kills, seven digs and two blocks while freshman setter Morgan Duggan had eight assists and four digs.  Junior libero Brooke McQueen added eight digs for Muhlenberg.

           The Moravian College women’s volleyball team won lost its final match at the Buttermaker Tournament hosted by Muhlenberg College, falling to DeSales University, 25-20, 25-22, 25-16.
           Junior outside hitter Katie Moquete, pictured at right, was named to the All-Tournament Team and had 15 kills while senior middle hitter Christine Reeser added nine kills.  Freshman setter/outside hitter Kelly Brown contributed six kills, six assists and nine digs while sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite had four kills and a block.  Sophomore libero Jesse Krasley, who was also named to the All-Tournament Team, had 14 digs while junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had nine digs and a pair of service aces.  Senior setter Christine Poole had 23 assists.

           Junior outside hitter Katie Moquete, pictured at right, led the Greyhounds with nine kills and four blocks while sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite added seven kills and a pair of blocks. Sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey posted six kills and two blocks while senior middle hitter Christine Reeser had five kills. Senior setter Christine Poole led Moravian with 26 assists while sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had a team high 31 digs.            The Moravian College women’s volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season in the final match of the 8th Annual Greyhound Premiere Invitational, falling to Swarthmore College 25-19, 23-25, 25-21, 25-23. The loss snaps Moravian's four-match winning streak to start the 2010 season. The Garnet won the tournament while the Greyhounds finished second.

The victory extends Moravian's winning streak to four to open the 2010 season.

           Senior middle hitter Christine Reeser, pictured at right, paced the Greyhounds with nine kills and a pair of service aces while sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite added seven kills.  Sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey also had seven kills while junior outside hitter Katie Moquete contributed four kills.  Senior setter Christine Poole ran the Moravian offense with 22 assists to go with four digs while sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had a team high ten digs.             Junior outside hitter Katie Moquete had a team high 15 kills for the Greyhounds while senior middle blocker Christine Reeser added 13 kills and four blocks.  Sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite contributed ten kills while senior setter Christine Poole, pictured at right, ran the Moravian offense with 52 assists to go with four blocks.  Sophomore libero Jesse Krasley had a team high 24 digs while junior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt added 21 digs.  Freshman right side hitter Brittany O’Hara had nine kills and four blocks in her collegiate debut while freshman setter/outside hitter Kelly Brown had 19 digs for the Greyhounds.  Senior defensive specialist Katie Kercher added 13 digs while sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey contributed three kills.
