The Greyhounds had their 2007 season come to a close with a 2-0 loss at Hamilton (NY) College in the First Round of the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament. The loss marked the first time this season Moravian lost back-to-back matches. After a scoreless first half, the Continentals, who were ranked eighth in the nation in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas Division III Top 25 Poll, got on the scoreboard in the 50th minute when freshman forward Lauren Farver scored off an assist from freshman midfielder Anne Gravely on a rebound. Hamilton extended its lead to 2-0 in the 75th minute when senior forward Nicole Tetreault scored off of a pass from freshman forward Katie Lyons. Hamilton had a 12-11 edge in shots and a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. Moravian junior goalie Caitlin Corrigan had five saves for the Greyhounds while senior keeper Caitlin McGilley had six saves in the shut out for the Continentals.

At The University of Scranton in Landmark Conference Championship – Lost 4-2 - Box Score

Second seeded Moravian fell to top seed The University of Scranton, 4-2, in the 2007 Landmark Conference Championship match. Scranton needed just two minutes to take a 1-0 lead in the inaugural Landmark Conference Championship match. Royal freshman midfielder Chelsea Paskman netted a goal just 1:51 into the match, heading in a direct kick by senior defender Jessia Turrin for her fifth goal of the season. Sophomore defender Beth Stephens then tapped in her first of three goals in the 17th minute with assists from sophomore midfielder Emily MacPhee and senior midfielder Kaitlin Baker. Moravian would cut the score in half in the 48th minute when Greyhound sophomore forward Alessandra Valdetara netted her fifth goal of the season off of an assist from senior midfielder Allison Solomita. Scranton would build a 4-1 lead with a pair of goals by Stephens in a five-minute span. Stephens scored in the 54th minute off of a pass from sophomore midfielder Erin Unterstein and in the 59th minute off of an assist from freshman defender Emily Boyce. Moravian finished off the scoring in the 79th minute when junior forward Tracy Fitzpatrick netted her 14th goal of the season on a penalty kick, the second straight match Fitzpatrick has scored on a penalty kick. The Greyhounds dominated the offensive statistics in the match, holding a 21-10 advantage in shots and a 10-4 edge in corner kicks. Moravian junior goalie Caitlin Corrigan had three saves while giving up four goals for just the second time in her career. The other time was the 2005 Commonwealth Conference Championship match in a 4-0 loss to eventual NCAA Division III National Champion Messiah College. Scranton senior goalie Jackie Colley made six saves in the Landmark Conference title match. The Greyhounds must now wait to find out if the team has qualified for either the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament, the field of 60 teams will be announced at 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 4th at www.ncaasports.com or the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III South Championships, which will be announced on Monday, November 5th. Without an automatic qualifier for the NCAA Division III National Championship, Moravian will first try to qualify as one of four Pool B teams (independents) then as one of 18 Pool C teams (at-large).

Vs. The Catholic University of America in Landmark Conference Semifinals – Won 2-0 - Box Score

The second-seeded Greyhounds earned a berth in the first-ever Landmark Conference Tournament Championship match with a 2-0 shutout of third seed The Catholic University of America in a semifinal contest on the HUB Quad. Moravian will travel to top seeded The University of Scranton for the Landmark Conference Championship match on Saturday, November 3rd at 1:00 p.m. The Royals defeated fourth seeded Juniata College, 3-2, in the other semifinal contest. Moravian junior goalie Caitlin Corrigan made four saves, all in the second half, for her 11th shutout of the season, extending her school career mark with her 26th career shutout. The Greyhounds would give Corrigan all of the offense she needed in the eighth minute when senior midfielder Jill Newswanger tapped in a corner kick by senior midfielder Allison Solomita for Newswanger's third goal of the season. Solomita took the kick from the left corner while Newswanger hit the shot in on the back right side of the net. Moravian would add a second goal in the first half when senior forward Tracy Fitzpatrick netted her team leading 13th goal of the season on a penalty kick. The Cardinals finished the match with a 10-9 advantage in shots while the Greyhounds had a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. Both teams each had a shot the either hit the cross bar or the post during the contest. Sophomore goalie Tere Rossi had three saves for Catholic, and the Cardinals had one team save with a defender clearing the ball off of the end line.

Kristin Watson broke a scoreless tie in the 62nd minute for the Eagles, netting the game-winning goal off of a pass from Ashley Hackman. Hackman then added an insurance goal in the 77th minute off of an assist from Lisa O'Keefe. Eastern had a 12-4 advantage in shots and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks. Moravian clinched one of the top two seeds and a home match in the 2007 Landmark Conference Tournament with a 3-0 win at The Catholic University of America in Landmark Conference action. Junior forward Tracy Fitzpatrick scored her 11th goal of the season and gave the Greyhounds all of the offense they would need in the eighth minute when she headed in a pass from junior defender Alexandra Frascella for Fitzpatrick's sixth game-winning goal of the season. The goal also gave Fitzpatrick 51 career points, becoming just the seventh player in school history to reach 50 points. Fitzpatrick added an unassisted goal in the 79th minute for her 12th tally of the season, and her fourth two-goal match of the year. The goal was the 20th of Fitzpatrick's career, the seventh player to reach to career goals, and moved her into a tie for fifth in career scoring with 53 points. Freshman forward Shannon McEvoy would add another goal for the Greyhounds, her third of the season, off of a pass from sophomore forward Alessandra Valdetara in the 88th minute. Catholic held a 16-8 advantage in shots and a 6-3 edge in corner kicks. The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute when senior midfielder Allison Solomita took a corner kick that ended up curving into the net for her second goal of the season. Moravian would score again in the 57th minute when sophomore forward Alessandra Valdetara found the net for her fourth goal of the year off of a centering pass from junior forward Tracy Fitzpatrick off of the end line. Moravian had a 7-4 advantage in shots and a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. The Greyhounds played to a 0-0 tie in a non-conference match at Lebanon Valley College in a contest that was called in the 81st minute with 9:23 remaining on the clock due to lightning in the area of field. Vs. Goucher College – Won 9-1 - Box Score

Moravian won its sixth straight contest and remained undefeated in Landmark Conference action with a 9-1 victory over Goucher College in Landmark Conference action on the HUB Quad. The nine goals for the Greyhounds were the most since a 9-0 victory over Juniata College to close out the 2004 season, and freshman defender Nina Rizzo scored Moravian's first hat trick since Kristina Adams netted four goals in a win at Widener last fall. Freshman forward Jenelle Mirro opened the scoring in the 11th minute when she put a pass from junior forward Tracy Fitzpatrick in the back of the net for her first collegiate goal. Mirro would score again in the 28th minute off of an assist from senior midfielder Jill Newswanger. Freshman forward Mallory Goggins then scored her second goal of the season off of a pass from sophomore midfielder JeriAnne Weiss in the 31st minute before Rizzo starter her hat trick. Rizzo, who had not scored this season, would find the back of the net three times in a span of nearly ten minutes with goals in the 33rd, 36th and 42nd minutes. Senior midfielder Allison Solomita set up Rizzo with her first goal, and Fitzpatrick, the Greyhounds' leading scorer, assisted on the second goal. Rizzo finished off her hat trick with an assist from freshman midfielder Emily Rodriguez. Rodriguez would then net her first career goal on a free kick in the 43rd minute to give Moravian a 7-0 halftime lead. Newswanger would score her first goal of the season off of an assist from sophomore forward Alessandra Valdetara in the 58th minute while sophomore forward Amanda Friedman netted her first goal of the season in the 70th minute with an assist from junior defender Georgia Castellano. Goucher would score its lone goal of the match in the 85th minute when Sisley Pumilio scored an unassisted tally. Moravian had a 32-3 advantage in shots and a 7-0 edge in corner kicks. Moravian junior goalie Caitlin Corrigan and freshman keeper Sarah Halpin each played a half for the Greyhounds but neither goalie made a save. Kellen Matthews had 11 saves for the Gophers.

The Greyhounds posted their fifth straight win and earned the team's tenth victory of the season with a 4-1 triumph over Philadelphia Biblical University in non-conference action on the HUB Quad. Moravian took a 1-0 lead in the 37th minute when junior forward Tracy Fitzpatrick netted her ninth goal of the season as she put a one-touch crossing pass from freshman forward Shannon McEvoy and sophomore defender Kathleen Wise in the back of the net from 15 yards out. The Crimson Eagles tied the match in the 41st minute with a header by forward Alexa Hays for her tenth goal of the year. Hays headed in a crossing pass off of the end line by midfielder Summer Mullen. The match would stay tied until the 78th minute when Moravian scored the first of three goals in a six-minute span. Junior midfielder Katelyn Killea ripped a shot into the back of the net from the top of the 18-yard box off of a touch pass from sophomore midfielder JeriAnne Weiss for Killea's first goal of the season. Fitzpatrick would net her second goal of the contest in the 81st minute when she tracked down a punt by junior goalie Caitlin Corrigan and tapped the ball into the net for her tenth goal of the season. Fitzpatrick finished the match by setting up a goal by freshman forward Mallory Goggins, the first goal of her career in the 83 minute. Moravian finished the contest with a 33-2 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks. Corrigan, who earned her first career point, did not make a save in 83 minutes of action for the Greyhounds while freshman keeper Sarah Halpin made one save in the final seven minutes, her first appearance in goal for the Greyhounds this season. Moravian sophomore forward Alessandra Valdetara scored in the 72nd minute to lead the Greyhounds to their fourth consecutive win with a 1-0 non-conference victory over rival Muhlenberg College on the HUB Quad. Valdetara took a long lead pass from junior forward Tracy Fitzpatrick and chipped a shot over the goalie from 15-yards out on the right wing for her third goal of the season. Fitzpatrick had a shot to give Moravian a lead in the 43rd minute but hit the crossbar with one of her six shots in the match. The win was Moravian's second straight and sixth of the season by shutout. Muhlenberg dominated possession of the ball most of the match, out-shooting Moravian 14-11, and the Mules also had a 7-5 edge in corner kicks. Greyhound junior goalie Caitlin Corrigan registered six saves as she moved into a tie for second in school history with Jill Vaccaro with her 21st career shutout. The Greyhounds posted a 2-0 non-conference victory over Villa Julie College on the HUB Quad to give head coach Eric Lambinus, a 1994 Moravian graduate, his 100th career win. Lambinus, who is in his ninth season as head coach of both Moravian's women's and men's programs, has a record of 100-48-11 with the women. The Greyhounds scored the only offense they would need in the 60th minute when sophomore midfielder Kathleen Wise fired a shot from about 40 yards away on a pass back from freshman forward Shannon McEvoy. The goal was the first of Wise's career. Senior midfielder Allison Solomita would extend Moravian's lead to 2-0 in the 78th minute when she put a free kick into the goal from 30 yards away for her first goal of the season. Moravian won its 2007 home opener with a 2-1, double-overtime victory over King's College in non-conference action on the HUB Quad. The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 53 seconds into the match when freshman midfielder Shannon McEvoy took a pass from senior midfielder Allison Solomita from just inside the six-yard box and put it in the net for her second goal of the season. The Monarchs tied the match six minutes later on a goal by Xavia Ortega off of an assist by Kaitling Wilcox. The match would remain scoreless until the second overtime. Moravian sophomore defender Terri Roberts got to a loose ball about 40-yards away from the goal and fired a shot. The ball first looked like it would go over the goal but dropped under the cross bar for Roberts' second goal of the season. Moravian had an 18-6 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks. At Manhattanville College in 13th Annual Valiant Classic – Won 2-0 - Box Score

The Greyhounds scored twice in the final 1:15 of the match to earn a 2-0 non-conference victory over host Manhattanville College on the second day of the 13th Annual Valiant Classic. Junior forward Tracy Fitzpatrick weaved through the Manhattanville defense and fired a shot into the upper left-hand corner of the net for her third goal of the season. Greyhound sophomore forward Alessandra Valdetara scored with just eight seconds remaining off of an assist from junior defender Alexandra Frascella, Valdetara's first goal of the season. Moravian dropped its first match of the season, falling to Skidmore College, 2-1, in the first day of the 13th Annual Valiant Classic hosted by Manhattanville College. The Greyhounds took a 1-0 lead in the 70th minute when junior forward Tracy Fitzpatrick put a pass from sophomore midfielder/forward Brittany Deiling in the back of the net. However, Moravian would allow Skidmore's Rachel Sushner to score twice in the final ten minutes to take the game. Sushner scored off of a pass from Jessica Morten in the 81st minute and then unassisted in the 87th minute. Skidmore had a 14-5 advantage in shots and a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. Greyhound junior goalie Caitlin Corrigan had four saves while Liza Mills did not make a save for Skidmore.

The Greyhounds won their second straight match, defeating Dickinson College, 3-1, in non-conference action. Moravian jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute when freshman midfielder Shannon McEvoy connected on a crossing pass from sophomore forward Alessandra Valdetara. The Greyhounds extended their lead to 2-0 in the 17th minute when sophomore defender Terri Roberts dropped a free kick in the back of the net from just outside the 18-yard box. Sophomore midfielder/forward Brittany Deiling would give Moravian a 3-0 lead in the 38th minute off a pass from sophomore forward Amanda Friedman. Dickinson's Lisa Nichols would break up the shutout in the 76th minute with an unassisted goal, the first allowed this season by the Greyhounds. Moravian junior goalie Caitlin Corrigan made ten saves in the victory while Kailyn Hartmann had three saves for the Red Devils. Dickinson had a 19-11 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks in the match.

Junior forward Tracy Fitzpatrick, who missed all of last season with an injury after making the All-Region team as a freshman in 2005, headed in a pass from sophomore defender Terri Roberts on a free kick from about 20 yards out. St. Mary's had a 19-14 advantage in shots and a 7-4 edge in corner kicks. Junior goalie Caitlin Corrigan made 12 saves for the Greyhounds while junior Marie Oben had seven saves for the Seahawks.
