Greyhound freshman Mary King earned All-American accolades in the javelin throw on the final day of the 2008 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. Moravian was 43rd of 83 scoring teams with 6.5 points.  The University of Wisconsin at River Falls and Illinois Wesleyan University tied for first place with 35 points while Wartburg (IA) College was third with 34 points.

King, competing at the NCAA Championships for the first time in her career, had a toss of 40.78 meters (133 feet, nine inches) on her first throw of the competition.  King’s distance would hold up for eighth place by two feet to earn All-America honors and one point for Moravian’s team score.

Moravian had just one competitior on the second day of the 2008 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships being hosted by the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. Sophomore Jessica Posimo competed in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles.  Posimo was seventh in her heat and 19th overall with a time of 15.03 seconds. The Greyhound women are currently 25th of 49 teams that have scored a point with a total of 5.5 points.

Sophomore Anna Heim tied for third in the pole vault, earning All-American honors for the second time this year, to lead the Moravian College men’s and women’s track & field teams on the first day of the 2008 NCAA Division Outdoor National Championships being hosted by the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. Heim cleared 3.82 meters (12 feet, 6 ¼ inches) to tie Jessica White of Monmouth College.  Holly Rollins of McMurry University won the event at a height of 3.92 meters (12 feet, 10 ¼ inches).  Heim’s tie for third earned Moravian 5.5 points, tying Moravian for 12th of 26 teams that scored a point on the first day of the three-day meet.

In other action, sophomore Symonne Scott placed fourth in her flight and tied for ninth overall in the long jump with a distance of 5.29 meters (17 feet, 4 1/4  inches).  Scott also ran in the preliminaries of the 4x100-meter relay with sophomores Rachel Beck and Jessica Posimo and freshman Syndi Wisniewski; however, the quartet failed to finish the race.

Moravian won its second Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship of the year by capturing the 2008 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships hosted by Springfield College. The Greyhounds, who led after the first day of competition on Thursday, posted a two-day score of 57 points to lead the 53 schools that scored a point, and SUNY Brockport followed Moravian with 47 points while host Springfield was third with 40 points. Moravian also won the 2008 ECAC Indoor title.

The Greyhounds had two runner-up finishes and a relay team take second place as well on the second day of competition.  Sophomore Jessica Posimo was second in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 14.85 seconds while sophomore Symonne Scott was second in the long jump with a leap of 5.46 meters (17 feet, 11 inches).  Posimo and Scott ran on Moravian’s second place 4x100-meter relay team with sophomore Rachel Beck and freshman Sydni Wisniewski which posted a time of 47.89 seconds.

Wisniewski scored in a pair of individual events with a sixth place finish in the 100-meter dash in 13.17 seconds and a seventh place showing in the 400-meter dash in a school record time of 58.19 seconds. Posimo, Heim and Wisniewski joined sophomore Katelyn Chando on the 4x400-meter relay squad that placed seventh in a time of 4:04.98 to earn two points.

The Greyhounds are in first place of 26 schools that scored a point on the first day of the 2008 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Outdoor Championships at Springfield College. Moravian scored 26 points on the first day while Waynesburg College is second with 23 points and Massachusetts Institute of Technology is third with 19 points.

The Greyhounds had one individual champion on the first day of the meet with sophomore Anna Heim capturing first place in the pole vault, clearing a school record and NCAA Division III automatic qualifying height of 3.87 meters (12 feet, 8 1/4 inches). Junior Christine Kihm was fifth in the pole vault at 3.42 meters (11 feet, 2 1/2 inches) to earn four points for Moravian while junior Thea Kennerknecht was 18th at 2.97 meters (nine feet, nine inches). Freshman Mary King earned the Greyhounds eight points with a runner-up finish in the javelin throw with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying distance of 41.06 meters (134 feet, eight inches) while freshman Kaleen Holden added three points for the Greyhounds with a sixth place in the javelin at 36.65 meters (120 feet, three inches).

Moravian's final point on the first day came from an eighth place finish by sophomore Flora Robertson in the hammer throw with a toss of 45.73 meters (150 feet). Freshman Tara Chiarella was 17th in the finals of the 10,000-meter run with a time of 42.13.07.

In preliminary action on the first day of the ECAC Championships, sophomore Jessica Posimo was second in the 100-meter hurdles and won her trial heat with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 14.95 seconds to advance to Friday's championship race. Freshman Shannon McEvoy was tenth in the 100-meter hurdle trials in 15.80 seconds while freshman Alexandra Lopez placed 20th at 17.52 seconds. Freshman Syndi Wisniewski finished seventh in the 100-meter dash trials in 12.66 seconds to advance to the finals while sophomore Symonne Scott was 13th in 12.77 seconds.

Moravian won the team title, had six first place individual finishers, two relay teams finish in first, a school record and an NCAA Division III provisional qualifier on the second of the 2008 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by the Greyhounds at Rocco Calvo Field and Timothy Breidegam Track. Moravian won with a team score of 307.5 points, 103.5 points ahead of runner-up Susquehanna University. The Catholic University of America was third at 92 points while Juniata College placed fourth with 88 points. Freshman Syndi Wisniewski was honored as the Women's Track Athlete of the Meet while Greyhound head coach Walter Wandall and his staff were named the Women's Coaching Staff of the Meet.

Wisniewski won three events by capturing the 100-meter dash in 12.60 seconds, the 200-meter dash in a time of 25.67 seconds and the 400-meter dash in a school record time of 58.40 seconds. Sophomore Jessica Posimo captured the triple jump with a distance of 10.72 meters (35 feet, two inches) and the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 15.08 seconds. Sophomore Anna Heim won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:06.28.

The Greyhounds 4x100-meter relay team of Wisniewski, Posimo and sophomores Rachel Beck and Symonne Scott was first in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 48.36 seconds. The Moravian 4x400-meter relay squad of Wisniewski, Posimo, Heim and sophomore Katelyn Chando won in a time of 3:59.83

Moravian had three first place finishers, five NCAA Division III provisional qualifiers and set one school record on the first day of the 2008 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships being hosted by the Greyhounds at Rocco Calvo Field and Timothy Breidegam Track. Moravian is in first place with 109.5 points while Susquehanna University is second at 101 points and The Catholic University of America is third with 41 points.

Sophomore Symonne Scott won the long jump with an NCAA Division III provosionaly qualifying distance of 5.57 meters (18 feet, 3 1/4 inches) while sophomore Anna Heim won the pole vault at an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying height of 3.70 meters (12 feet, 1 1/2 inches). Freshman Mary King captured the javelin with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying toss of 41.41 meters (135 feet, ten inches). Junior Christine Kihm also hit the NCAA Division III provisionaly qualifying mark with a second place finish in the pole vault at 3.55 meters (11 feet, 7 3/4 inches) while sophomore Jessica Posimo hit the NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time and set the school record in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles in 14.77 seconds.

Junior Thea Kennerknecht was third in the pole vault at 3.25 meters (ten feet, eight inches) while Posimo was the runner-up in the long jump at 5.42 meters (17 feet, 9 1/2 inches). Sophomore Rachel Riggs was fifth in the long jump with a leap of 5.19 meters (17 feet, 1/2 inch) while freshman Syndi Wisniewski took sixth at 5.18 meters (17 feet), freshman Alexandra Lopez was tied for eighth at 5.06 meters 916 feet, 7 1/4 inches) and freshman Shannon McEvoy was tenth at 4.91 meters (16 feet, 1 1/2 inches). Posimo also finished third in the high jump, clearing 1.47 meters (four feet, 9 3/4 inches) while Scott was fourth and Wisniewski was fifth in the high jump at the same height.

In the throwing events, freshman Kaleen Holden was the runner-up in the javelin throw with a toss of 38.34 meters (125 feet, nine inches) while sophomore Flora Robertson took sixth at 31.45 meters (103 feet, two inches), sophomore Aliina Ross was seventh at 31.34 meters (102 feet, ten inches) and Heim placed ninth at 27.98 meters (15 feet, nine inches). Robertson was fifth in the shot put with a toss of 9.54 meters (31 feet, 3 3/4 inches) while freshman Molly DuVall was eighth at 8.86 meters (29 feet, one inch). DuVall also took ninth in the discus with a toss of 25.08 meters (82 feet, three inches) while Robertson was tenth at 24.40 meters (80 feet, one inch).

Junior Kayla Teeling took third in the 1,500-meter run in 4:56.45 while freshman Tara Chiarella was third in the 10,000-meter run in 40:26.56. Senior Katie Pullizano took fourth in the 10,000-meter run in a time of 41:32.28.

In preliminary action, sophomore Rachel Beck qualified first in the 100-meter dash in 12.45 seconds and will be joined in the finals by Wisniewski, who was second at 12.52 seconds, Scott, who took third in 12.70 seconds, Posimo, who placed fourth in 12.78 seconds and Rigss, who finished seventh in 13.19 seconds. Wisniewski won the 200-meter dash reliminaries in 25.49 seconds while Beck took second in 26.04 seconds, Scott was third at 25.57 seconds, Posimo in fourth at 26.14 seconds and freshman Alyssa Wert in seventh place at 26.91 seconds all reached the final.

Wisniewski also won the 400-meter dash preliminary in 1:00.38 while sophomore Katelyn Chando took second at 1:01.15 and Wert was fifth in 1:02.57 to advance to the finals. Posimo will be joined in the finals of the 100-meter hurdles by McEvoy, who was second in 15.44 seconds, and Lopez, who finished sixth at 16.64 seconds.

Sophomore Anna Heim placed third of 25 competitors in the College Women's Pole Vault at the 114th Penn Relays at Franklin Field by clearing a height of 3.79 meters (12 feet, 5 1/4 inches). Liza Todd from the University of South Carolina placed first at 3.90 meters (13 feet, 1/4 inch) while Jill Ahrens of Wake Forest University was second, clearing the same height as Heim in fewer jumps. Heim was the only non-NCAA Division I student-athlete in the event.

The Greyhounds had one first place finisher and broke a pair of school records at the 2008 Greyhound Invitational at Rocco Calvo Field and Timothy Breidegam Track. Sophomore Anna Heim captured the pole vault in a school record, meet record and NCAA Division III automatic qualifying height of 3.85 meters (12 feet, 7 1/2 inches). Heim, who broke the mark for the second straight week, nearly cleared her next height at 13 feet. Sophomore Jessica Posimo also set a school record for the second consecutive week in the 100-meter hurdles running a time of 15.04 seconds.

In other top ten sprint event results, sophomore Rachel Beck was sixth in the 100-meter dash in 12.69 seconds while sophomore Symonne Scott was eighth in 12.74 seconds. Freshman Sydni Wisniewski took sixth in the 200-meter dash in 25.55 seconds while Beck was tenth in 25.83 seconds. Freshman Shannon McEvoy was eighth in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.62 seconds, and she placed tenth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:08.81. Beck, Wisniewski, Scott and Posimo combined for a time of 48.07 in the 4x100-meter relay , which was third in the race and was also an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time.

Junior Kayla Teeling finished third in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:56.60 while junior Naomie Kachel was sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 13:29.55.

Scott took fourth in the long jump with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying distance of 5.53 meters (18 feet, 1 3/4 inches), and she was seventh in the high jump clearing 1.57 meters (five feet, 1 3/4 inches). Posimo was eighth in the long jump at 5.39 meters (17 feet, 8 1/4 inches), and she was also eighth in the triple jump at 10.79 meters (35 feet, five inches) while sophomore Rachel Riggs took seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 11.02 meters (36 feet, two inches).

In the throwing events, freshman Mary King was second in the javelin throw with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying distance of 41.58 meters (136 feet, five inches) while freshman Kaleen Holden took sixth at 36.28 meters (119 feet). Sophomore Flora Dobertson was ninth in the discus throw with a toss of 31.07 meters (101 feet, 11 inches).

Moravian had a pair of competitors in the first day of the 2008 Greyhound Invitational at Rocco Calvo Field and Timothy Breidegam Track as the non-scoring meet began with the hammer throw. Sophomore Flora Robertson placed fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 43.67 meters (143 feet, three inches) while freshman Molly Duvall placed 18th with a toss of 27.15 meters (89 feet, one inch).

The Greyhounds had one individual capture a first place finish and three student-athletes set school record at the non-scoring The College of New Jersey Invitational. Sophomore Anna Heim won the pole vault with a school record and NCAA Division III provisional qualifying height of 3.78 meters (12 feet, 4 3/4 inches). Sophomore Jessica Posimo set the school record in the 100-meter hurdles with a runner-up time of 15.15 seconds while freshman Syndi Wisniewski set the school mark in the 400-meter dash with a fifth place finish in a time of 58.75 seconds. Wisniewski broke Alyssa Strausberger's record that was set back in 1996.

Other top ten finishes in the track events for Moravian included sophomore Rachel Beck placing sixth in the 100-meter dash in 12.61 seconds and tenth in the 200-meter dash in 26.73 seconds. Freshman Shannon McEvoy was fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.73 seconds, and she placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:08.10. Junior Naomie Kachel was fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 13:31.06 while freshman Tara Chiarella was sixth in the 5,000-meter run in 19:50.29 and senior Katie Pulizzano was seventh in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 20:05.05. Moravian's 4x400-meter relay team ran a time of 48.8 seconds to place third while the Greyhounds' 4x400-meter relay squad was seventh in 4:14.48.

In the field events, Posimo was fourth in the high jump at 1.56 meters (five feet, 1 1/4 inches), fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 10.69 meters (35 feet, one inch) and seventh in the long jump at 5.02 meters (16 feet, 5 1/2 inches). Wisniewski was third in the long jump at 5.20 meters (17 feet, 3/4 inch) while sophomore Symonne Scoot took fourth at 5.14 meters (16 feet, 10 1/4 inches). Sophomore Rachel Riggs was fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 10.44 meters (34 feet, three inches) and eighth in the long jump with a leap of 4.93 meters (16 feet, two inches) while McEvoy took tenth in the triple jump at 10.06 meters (33 feet, 1/4 inch).

Freshman Kaleen Holden placed second in the javelin throw with a toss of 34.42 meters (112 feet, 11 inches) while sophomore Flora Robertson placed fourth at 33.78 meters (110 feet, ten inches). Heim was fifth with a toss of 33.54 meters (110 feet) while sophomore Aliina Ross took seventh at 31.33 meters (102 feet, nine inches). Junior Thea Kennerknecht was tenth in the pole vault, clearing 2.95 meters (nine feet, eight inches).

Moravian had seven individuals and a relay team capture first place finishes at the non-scored Muhlenberg College Invitational. Freshman Syndi Wisniewski won three sprint events, capturing the 100-meter dash in 12.61 seconds, the 200-meter dash in 26.06 seconds and the 400-meter dash in 59.58 seconds. Sophomore Jessica Posimo won a pair of events, capturing the long jump at 5.09 meters ( 16 feet, 8 1/2 inches) and the triple jump with a distance of 10.96 meters (35 feet, 11 1/2 inches). Sophomore Anna Heim won the pole vault in an NCAA Division III provisional and school record height of 3.75 meters (12 feet, 3 1/2 inches) while freshman Mary King captured the javelin throw with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying toss to 41.57 meters (136 feet, five inches). The Greyhounds 4x100-meter relay team of Posimo, Wisniewski and sophomores Rachel Beck and Symonne Scott took first in 50.96 seconds.

Other top ten finishes for the Greyhounds were Beck taking third in the 100-meter dash in 12.75 seconds, Scott finishing fourth at 12.97 seconds and Posimo in sixth at 13.15 seconds after placing third in the preliminaries in 12.94 seconds. Beck was third in the 200-meter dash in 26.64 seconds while Posimo placed fourth in 26.86 seconds and Scott took eighth in 27.84 seconds. Beck also placed sixth in the 400-meter dash in 1:03.18 while freshman Alyssa Wert was seventh in a time of 1:03.25.

Posimo was second in the 100-meter hurdles at 15.49 seconds while freshman Shannon McEvoy took fifth at 16.60 seconds after running a time of 16.44 seconds. Heim was second in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:08.29 while McEvoy took fifth in a time of 1:09.72 and sophomore Katelyn Chando was sixth in 1:10.66.

Freshman Tara Chiarella was sixth in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 19:20.34 while junior Naomie Kachel was sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 13:31.71. Junior Kayla Teeling was seventh in the 1,500-meter run in 5:05.81

Scott was second in the long jump at 4.97 meters (16 feet, 3 3/4 inches) while freshman Alexandra Lopez placed fifth at 4.73 meters (15 feet, 6 1/4 inches). McEvoy was fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 9.79 meters (32 feet, 1 1/2 inches) while junior Thea Kennerknecht placed third in the pole vault clearing 3.00 meters (nine feet, ten inches).

Freshman Kaleen Holden was fourth in the javelin throw with a toss of 33.61 meters (110 feet, three inches) while sophomore Flora Robertson was sixth at 33.36 meters (109 feet, five inches) and sophomore Aliina Roos took seventh with a toss of 33.01 meters (108 feet, four inches). Robertson also placed fifth in the shot put at 9.67 meters (31 feet, 8 3/4 inches), and she was ninth in the discus throw at 28.74 meters (94 feet, three inches).

The Greyhounds began their 2008 outdoor season with a third place finish of four teams at the Lafayette College ESU 4-Way meet competed at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. The Leopards were first with 125 points while East Stroudsburg was second with 75, Moravian had 53 points for third and Rider University placed fourth at 47 points. The Greyhounds had a pair of individual champions with sophomore Anna Heim capturing the pole vault in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying height of 3.51 meters (11 feet, 6 1/4 inches) and sophomore Symonne Scott winning the long jump with a leap of 5.31 meters (17 feet, 5 1/4 inches). Sophomore Flora Robertson also provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships in the hammer throw with a school record toss of 46.80 meters (153 feet, six inches), placing her fifth of 14 competitors as the only Division III thrower in the event.

In the sprint events, sophomore Rachel Beck placed second in the 100-meter dash in 12.69 seconds while Scott was third at 12.83 seconds. Sophomore Rachel Riggs was seventh for the Greyhounds in 13.46 seconds while freshman Alexandra Lope tied for eighth at 13.56 seconds. Freshman Syndi Wisniewski was the runner-up in the 200-meter dash in 26.40 seconds while Beck was third in 27.07 seconds, Scott was fifth in 27.32 seconds and freshman Alyssa Wert placed tenth at 28.81 seconds. Wisniewski also finished second in the 400-meter dash in 59.78 seconds while Wert took seventh in 1:05.99. Freshman Shannon McEvoy took sixth in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.07 seconds while Lopez was ninth in 17.77 seconds. Sophomore Katelyn Chando was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:10.27, and McEvoy was seventh in a time of 1:13.12.

Junior Kayla Teeling was second in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:01.60 while freshman Tara Chiarella was third in 5:10.50 and junior Stephanie Miller placed seventh at 5:23.71. Teeling was also sixth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:28.43 while freshman Kristen Labert was 11th in 2:47.13, freshman Sarah Ziegenfuss was 12th at 2:48.57 and junior Naomie Kachel finished 13th in 2:56.60. Senior Katie Pulizzano paced Moravian in the 3,000-meter run, placing sixh in a time of 11:33.08. Chiarella was seventh in the 3,000-meters in 11:39.76 while Kachel was 13th in 12:37.71.

In the relay events, the Greyhounds' 4x100-meter relay squad of Beck, Wisniewski, Scott and Riggs placed second in a time of 49.56 seconds while Moravian's 4x400-meter relay team of Beck, Wert, Chando and Wisniewski was fourth in 4:21.15.

Junior Thea Kennerknecht placed fifth in the pole vault, clearing 2.74 meters (eight feet, 11 3/4 inches) while Riggs was sixth in the long jump with a distance of 4.66 meters (15 feet, 3 1/2 inches). Senior Ashlee Scarborough was eighth in the lon jump t 4.20 meters (13 feet, 9 1/2 inches). Riggs also finished fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 10.33 meters (33 feet, 10 3/4 inches) while McEvoy took seventh at 10.03 meters (32 feet, 11 inches).

Robertson was seventh in the discus with a toss of 25.63 meters (84 feet, one inch), and she was ninth in the shot put with a distance of 9.33 meters (30 feet, 7 1/2 inches). Freshman Molly DuVall was 11th int he shot put at 8.59 meters (28 feet, 2 1/4 inches). Freshman Kaleen Holden placed third in the javelin throw for the Greyhounds with a toss of 34.85 meters (114 feet, four inches) while sophomore Aliina Ross was fifth at 32.66 meters (107 feet, two inches) and Robertson placed sixth at 31.82 meters (104 feet, five inches).

Moravian sophomore Anna Heim earned All-America honors for the Greyhound women for the first time in her career with a fourth place finish in the pole vault at the 2008 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field National Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio.  Heim cleared a season-best 3.76 meters (12 feet, four inches) to earn five points, tying Moravian for 38th in the team standings.  Heim competed in the pole vault indoors last year but did not place in the top eight to earn All-American honors.

The Greyhounds placed first of 51 teams scoring points at the 2008 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III Indoor Championships that were competed at Harvard University. Moravian had a final team score of 56 points, 13.5 points ahead of runner-up Massachusetts Institute of Technology and 14 points ahead of third-place Bates College, which scored 42 points.

Freshman Syndi Wisniewski paced the Greyhounds, who had a one-point lead after the first day of competition, on the second day of the meet with a pair of runner-up finishes. Wisniewski earned eight points and set the school record with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 57.97 seconds in the 400-meter dash. She also earned eight points for her second place in the 200-meter dash in 25.71 seconds.

Sophomore Rachel Beck garnered five points for the Greyhounds by placing fourth in the 200-meter dash in 25.88 seconds while sophomore Jessica Posimo was one spot behind in 26.08 seconds to gain another four points for the team. Posimo, who won the indoor pentathlon title on the first day of the ECAC meet and had a hand in 18 team points in the first day of competition, earned three more points for a sixth place in the long jump, leaping 5.26 meters (17 feet, 3 1.4 inches) and two additional points with a seventh place showing in the 550meter hurdles in 8.67 seconds.

Sophomore Rachel Riggs finished 19th in the long jump at 4.97 meters (16 feet, 3 3/4 inches) while Wisniewski was 25th at 4.75 meters (15 feet, seven inches.

Moravian is in first place of 34 teams that scored points on the first day of the 2008 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III Indoor Championships being competed at Harvard University. The Greyhounds have a team score of 26 points, just one point ahead of St. Lawrence University. Moravian had two student-athletes and one relay team earn points for the team on the first day of action including one champion and a new school record.

Sophomore Jessica Posimo won the indoor pentathlon with a school record point total of 3,170 points. Posimo was first in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.63 seconds to score 879 points, first in the long jump at 5.09 meters (16 feet, 8 1/2 inches) for 584 points, first in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:36.90 to garner 609 points, second in the high jump at 1.60 meters (five feet, three inches) to earn 736 points and seventh in the shot put with a toss of 7.42 meters (24 feet, 4 1/4 inches) to garner 362 points.

Posimo also helped Moravian earn eight points with a second place finish in the 4x220-yard relay. Posimo and teammates sophomores Rachel Beck and Symonne Scott and freshman Syndi Wisniewski ran a time of 1:43.97, just 36-hundredths of a seconds out of first.

Sophomore Anna Heim would also gain eight points for the Greyhounds with a second place finish in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.52 meters (11 feet, 6 1/2 inches). Sophomore Rachel Riggs took 15th place in the triple jump with a distance of 10.63 meters (34 feet, 10 1/2 inches).

In preliminary events, Posimo was sixth in the 55-meter hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 8.55 seconds to move into Saturday's championship race while freshman Shannon McEvoy was 19th in the preliminaries in 9.37 seconds. Wisniewski was 11th in the preliminaries of the 55-meter dash in 7.39 seconds while Beck took 12th in 7.41 seconds.

The Greyhounds captured the inaugural Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Susquehanna University. Moravian posted a team score of 213 points while the host Crusaders were second with 129 points. Greyhound freshman Syndi Wisniewski was named the Female Track Athlete of the Meet after winning the 200-meter dash in an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference qualifying time of 26.38 seconds and 400-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 58.76 seconds. Wisniewski also joined with sophomores Rachel Beck, Jessica Posimo and Symonne Scott to win the 4x200-meter relay in a school record and ECAC qualifying time of 1:45.49 and with Beck, Posimo and sophomore Katelyn Chando in the 4x400-meter relay team for a first place finish in an ECAC qualifying time of 4:06.93. Moravian's coaching staff under the direction of head coach Walt Wandall was named the Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year.

The Greyhounds had six other individual champions with Posimo winning the 55-meter hurdles and ECAC qualifying time of 8.79 seconds, the long jump with an ECAC qualifying leap of 5.29 meters (17 feet, 4 1/4 inches) and the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 10.59 meters (34 feet, nine inches), Beck capturing the 55-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 7.44 seconds, sophomore Anna Heim winning the pole vault with an ECAC qualifying height of 3.19 meters (ten feet, 5 1/2 inches) and sophomore Flora Robertson capturing the 20-pound weight throw with an ECAC qualifying toss of 14.34 meters (47 feet, 3/4 inch). All of the champions earned Landmark All-Conference First Team honors for their first place finishes.

Moravian had six individuals and a relay team earn Landmark All-Conference Second Team accolades with second place finishes in their events. Wisniewski was the runner-up in the 55-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 7.45 seconds while Beck placed second in the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 26.79 seconds. Junior Kayla Teeling turned in a pair of runner-up finishes taking second in the mile run on 5:23.33 and in the 800-meter run in 2:26.08. Sophomore Rachel Riggs was second in the triple jump in an ECAC qualifying distance of 10.55 meters (34 feet, 7 1/2 inches) while Robertson placed second in the shot put with a toss of 10.17 meters (33 feet, 4 1/2 inches). The Greyhounds 4x800-meter relay squad of Teeling, junior Stephanie Miller and freshmen Kristen Labert and Kaleen Holden finished second in 10:30.19.

In other sprint results for Moravian, Posimo was fourth in the 55-meter dash in 7.67 seconds after qualifying third in 7.60 seconds. Chando place sixth in the finals of the 55-meter dash in 7.94 seconds. Posimo also took third in the 200-meter dash in 27.11 seconds while Scott was sixth in 27.67 seconds and freshman Alyssa Wert took ninth in 28.25 seconds. Chando was fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.93 while Wert was sixth in 1:04.11. Freshman Shannon McEvoy was third in the 55-meter hurdles in an ECAC qualifying time of 9.02 seconds while freshman Alexandra Lopez took fifth in 9.34 seconds after qualifying fourth in 9.28 seconds.

Miller ran a time of 2:33.77 in the 800-meter run to place ninth while junior Naomie Kachel took 12th in 2:46.08. Freshman Tara Chiarella led a trio of Greyhounds in the 5,000-meter run with a third place finish in 19:52.21. Senior Katie Pulizzano was fourth in 20:00.58 while junior Kelly Williams took sixth in 20:32.70.

Wisniewski was third in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 5.06 meters (16 feet, 7 1/4 inches) while senior Ashlee Scarborough placed ninth in 4.37 meters (14 feet, four inches). Junior Thea Kennerkneckt took third in the pole vault, clearing a height of 2.89 meters (nine feet, 5 3/4 inches) while McEvoy was sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 9.93 meters (32 feet, seven inches). Wisniewski finished off her afternoon with seventh place in the shot put toss of 9.09 meters (29 feet, ten inches).

Moravian completed its 2007-08 indoor regular season at the non-scoring Lafayette College/Rider University Winter Games at the New York City Track & Field Armory. Sophomore Anna Heim had the Greyhounds' top individual finish, placing second in the pole vault with an NCAA Division III automatic and Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference qualifying height of 3.75 meters (12 feet, 3 1/2 inches).

Moravian had four other top ten finishes with sophomore Flora Robertson placing sixth in the 20-pound weight throw with an ECAC qualifying toss of 14.21 meters (46 feet, 7 1/2 inches), sophomore Jessica Posimo finishing seventh in the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying leap of 11.07 meters (36 feet, four inches), sophomore Rachel Beck placing seventh in the 60-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 7.96 seconds and freshman Sydni Wisniewski taking tenth in the 60-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 8.06 seconds. The Greyhounds had one school record broken at the meet with Wisniewski taking nearly a full second off of her time in the 400-meter dash, finishing 11th in an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying time of 58.39 seconds.

Wisniewski also placed 11th in the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 25.96 seconds while Beck placed 16th in an ECAC qualifying time of 26.07 seconds. Posimo was 26th in the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 26.58 seconds while sophomore Symonne Scott placed 45th in 27.42 seconds. Beck finished 33rd in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.86 while freshman Alyssa Wert took 49th in a time of 1:05.50. Sophomore Katelyn Chando placed 12th in the 500-meter dash in 1:23.87 while Scott finished 22nd in the 60-meter dash in 8.27 seconds.

In the 60-meter hurdles, Posimo placed 14th in an ECAC qualifying time of 9.35 seconds while freshman Shannon McEvoy finished 26th in 9.74 seconds and freshman Alexandra Lopez took 48th in 10.74 seconds. Junior Kayla Teeling was 29th in the mile run in a time of 5:31.51 while junior Stephanie Miller placed 41st in the 800-meter run in 2:32.26. Junior Kelly Williams finished 30th in the 3,000-meter run in 11:35.98 while freshman Tara Chiarella was 33rd in 11:49.15.

Posimo and Wisniewski tied for 13th in the long jump with each student-athlete jumping an ECAC qualifying distance of 5.10 meters (16 feet, 8 3/4 inches). Sophomore Rachel Riggs was 20th in the long jump at 4.85 meters (15 feet, 11 inches), and Riggs was 15th in the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 10.71 meters (35 feet, 1 3/4 inches). Junior Thea Kennerkneckt placed 19th in the pole vault, clearing 3.00 meters (nine feet, ten inches).

The Greyhounds competed non-scored Cornell University Invitational. Moravian's top individual finish in the meet was by sophomore Rachel Beck, who placed fourth in the 60-meter dash in an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III qualifying time of 7.99 seconds. Freshman Sydni Wisniewski broke the school record, qualified for the ECAC Championship and placed sixth in the 400-meter dash in 59.36 seconds, and Wisniewski was sixth in the 60-meter dash in 8.16 seconds and tied for eighth in the high jump, clearing 1.50 meters (four feet, 11 inches).

Other top ten finishers for the Greyhounds included sophomore Jessica Posimo placing seventh in the 60-meter hurdles in an ECAC qualifying time of 9.55 seconds and freshman Kristen Labert taking eighth in the 500-meter dash in 1:31.01. Freshman Kaleen Holden was tenth in the 500-meter dash in 1:32.31 while junior Kayla Teeling took ninth in the mile run in a time of 5:27.12, and she was tenth in the 800-meter run in 2:29.11. Posimo also finished eighth in the triple jump in an ECAC qualifying distance of 10.94 meters (35 feet, 10 3/4 inches) and ninth in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying leap of 5.17 meters (16 feet, 11 1/2 inches).

In other track results, Posimo placed 15th in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash in 8.22 seconds, while sophomore Symonne Scott was 19th in 8.36 seconds and sophomore Katelyn Chando took 23rd in 8.45 seconds. Beck finished 12th in the 200-meter dash in 26.89 seconds and was followed by Posimo in 14th in 27.01, sophomore Rachel Riggs in 25th place in a time of 28.06 and Scott in 29th at 28.39. Beck also took 14th in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.58.

Junior Stephanie Miller placed 13th in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 3:29.29 while junior Kelly Williams placed 16th in the 3,000-meter run in 11:46.07. Senior Katie Pullizano finished 16th in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 20:30.67 while freshman Shannon McEvoy was 11th in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles in 9.83 seconds.

In other field results, Wisniewski was 15th in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying leap of 5.06 meters (16 feet, 7 1/4 inches) while Riggs took 19th place at 4.92 meters (16 feet, 1 3/4 inches). Riggs also placed 14th in the triple jump with a distance of 10.44 meters (34 feet, three inches). Moravian placed third of ten NCAA Division II and Division III teams at the Thomson Invitational hosted by the University of Delaware. The Greyhounds scored 92 points while Adelphi University won the meet with 141 points. The host Blue Hens won the Division I meet with 137.5 points. Moravian had three individual champions with sophomore Rachel Riggs capturing the long jump with a leap of 4.85 meters (15 feet, 11 inches) and the triple jump in an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference qualifying distance of 10.51 meters (34 feet, 5 3/4 inches) to earn 20 points. Junior Thea Kennerkneckt earned ten points with a first place finish in the pole vault, clearing 2.90 meters (nine feet, 6 1/4 inches).

The Greyhounds had three other ECAC qualifying performances. Sophomore Jessica Posimo was second in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.55 seconds to earn eight points after Posimo qualified first in a school record, NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying time of 9.10 seconds. Sophomore Rachel Beck finished second in the 200-meter dash in 26.96 seconds for eight points and third in the 60-meter dash in 8.03 seconds for six points.

Posimo earned eight more points with a second place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 10.47 meters (34 feet, 4 1/4 inches), and she gained the team five points for a fourth place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.45 meters (four feet, nine inches). Freshman Alexandra Lopez earned five points for a fourth place finish in the 60-meter hurdles in 10.23 seconds while sophomore Symonne Scott gained four points for a fifth place in the 200-meter dash in 28.42 seconds. Scott also earned one point for an eighth place finish in the 60-meter dash in 8.56 seconds while Riggs earned three points in the 200-meter dash with a sixth place finish in 28.50 seconds. Sophomore Katelyn Chando earned two points in the 60-meter dash, placing seventh in 8.56 seconds, and one point in the 200-meter dash for an eighth place finish in 28.75 seconds.

Freshman Syndi Wisniewski garnered five points for the Greyhounds with a fourth place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.81 while freshman Tara Chiarella earned three points for a sixth place in the 3,000-meter run in 11:39.71. Senior Katie Pulizzano added two points in the 3,000-meter run, placing seventh in 11:47.62 while junior Kelly Williams earned a point for placing eighth in a time of 11:49.20.

Freshman Alyssa Wert also competed in the 200-meter dash, placing ninth in 28.81 seconds and 14th in the 400-meter dash in 1:06.88. Chando also ran in the 400-meter dash, placing tenth in 1:04.85.

The Greyhounds had two competitors, sophomore Jessica Posimo and freshman Sydni Wisniewski, compete in the Muhlenberg College Pentathlon with both surpassing the 2,700 point mark to qualify for the 2008 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships. Posimo won the event with a school record total of 2,940 points while Wisniewski was second of the five competitors with 2,736 points, which also surpassed the previous school record.

Posimo placed first in three of the five events, capturing the 55-meter hurdles in 8.7 seconds to earn 807 points, the high jump, clearing 1.55 meters (five feet, one inch) to earn 678 poitns and the long jump with a leap of 5.21 meters (17 feet, 1 1/4 inches) to earn 617 points. Posimo was second in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:48.3 to earn 479 points while finishing fourth in the shot put with a toss of 7.37 meters (24 feet, 2 1/4 inches) to earn 359 points.

Wisniewski finished first in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:34.2 to garner 638 points, and she was second in the long jump at 5.17 meters (16 feet, 11 1/2 inches) to earn 606 points and the shot put with a toss ot 9.29 meters (30 feet, 5 3/4 inches) to eanr 483 points. Wisniewski was third in the high jump. clearing 1.43 meters (four feet, 8 1/4 inches), and she finished fourth in the 55-meter hurdles in 10.4 seconds for 465 points.

Moravian placed sixth of 11 teams at the 16th Annual John Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University. The Greyhounds scored 33 points while the Sacred Heart University won the meet with 132 points. Moravian was the top NCAA Division III team in the event and defeated two NCAA Division I programs. The Greyhounds had one individual champion with sophomore Anna Heim capturing the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.60 meters (11 feet, 9 3/4 inches) which provisionally qualified her for the NCAA Division III National Championships and also qualified her for the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships.

Sophomore Rachel Beck earned four points with a fourth place finish in the 60-meter dash in 8.13 seconds, and she earned another two poitns for a fifth place showing in the 200-meter dash in 26.73 seconds, which qualified her for the ECAC Championships. Freshman Sydni Wisniewski garnered eight points for a runner-up finish in the 500-meter dash in and ECAC qualifying time of 1:21.88 while junior Kayla Teeling earned two points for placing fifth in the mile run in a time of 5:29.08. Sophomore Jessica Posimo earned six points for a third place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 10.90 meters (35 feet, 9 1/4 inches) and one point with a sixth place finish in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.47 seconds, both of which qualify Posimo for the ECAC Championships.

Wisniewski also placed eighth in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash in 8.18 seconds while Posimo was 27th in 8.54 seconds. Sophomore Katelyn Chando was 15th in the 60-meter dash in a time of 8.50 seconds while sophomore Symonne Scott placed 16th in 8.51 seconds in her first meet with the Greyhounds. In the 200-meter dash, Posimo placed 14th overall and won her heat in 27.70 seconds while sophomore Rachel Riggs took 18th overall and first in her heat in 28.38 seconds. Freshman Alyssa Wert was 20th in the race in 28.55 seconds while Scott took 22nd and won her heat in 28.79 seconds and Chando was 23rd in 28.88 seconds. Chando placed tenth in the 400-meter dash in 1:04.67 wile Wert placed 14th in a time of 1:07.90 and freshman Alexandra Lopez finished 16th in 1:09.96. Freshman Kaleen Holden was 14th in the 500-meter dash in 1:32.81 while Lopez posted a time of 10.04 seconds in the 60-meter hurdle preliminaries.

Junior Kelly Williams was tenth in the 5,000-meter run for the Greyhounds in a time of 20:38.49 while freshman Tara Chiarella placed 13th in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 12:00.54. Freshman Kristen Labert took 28th in the 800-meter run in 2:44.23 while junior Naomie Kachel took 32nd in 2:51.45. Moravian's 4x800-meter relay team of Williams, Holden, Labert and Chiarella placed seventh in 11:19.62.

In the field events, Wisniewski was seventh in the high jump, clearing 1.60 meters (five feet, three inches), which qualified for the ECAC meet, while Posimo tied for 17th at a height of 1.50 meters (four feet, 11 inches). Junior Thea Kennerknecht tied for 11th in the pole vault, clearing 2.85 meters (nine feet, 4 1/4 inches). Riggs was tenth in the long jump with a leap of 4.96 meters (16 feet, 3 1/4 inches) while Posimo placed 11th at 4.87 meters (15 feet, 11 3/4 inches) and senior Ashlee Scarborough took 16th with leap of 4.37 meters (14 feet, four inches). Riggs also placed seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 10.30 meters (33 feet, 9 1/2 inches).

The Greyhounds returned to action for the first time in a month and a half at the non-scoring Susquehanna University Orange & Maroon Classic. Moravian had seven individual and two relay teams capture first place finishes. Sophomore Jessica Posimo won a trio of events, capturing the long jump with a leap of 5.01 meters (16 feet, 5 1/4 inches), the triple jump with a distance of 10.32 meters (33 feet, 10 1/4 inches) and the 55-meter hurdles in 8.78 seconds. Posimo qualified for the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships in the long jump and 55-meter hurdles. Freshman Syndi Wisniewski captured the 200-meter dash in 26.73 seconds to qualify for the ECAC meet and the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:01.42. Sophomore Anna Heim won the pole vault, clearing an ECAC qualifying height of 3.35 meters (ten feet, 11 3/4 inches) while sophomore Rachel Beck captured the 55-meter dash in 7.56 seconds.

The Greyhounds 4x200-meter relay squad of Wisniewski, Posimo, Beck and freshman Alyssa Wert won in an ECAC qualifying time of 1:49.28 while the 4x400-meter relay team of Wisniewski, Beck, Wert and Heim captured first place in 4:17.36.

Sophomore Rachel Riggs took second in the triple jump with a distance of 10.23 meters (33 feet, 6 3/4 inches), and she was fifth in the long jump with a leap of 4.71 meters (15 feet, 5 1/2 inches). Heim placed seventh in the long jump at 4.62 meters (15 feet, two inches) while Wisniewski was 11th with a leap of 4.34 meters (14 feet, three inches) and senior Ashlee Scarborough placed 16th at 4.01 meters (13 feet, two inches). Posimo placed seventh in the high jump, clearing 1.42 meters (four feet, 7 3/4 inches) while junior Thea Kennerkneckt finished fourth at 2.90 meters (nine feet, 6 1/4 inches). Sophomore Flora Robertson was fourth in the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 12.01 meters (39 feet, five inches).

Freshman Alexandra Lopez placed fourth in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 9.68 seconds after finishing fifth in the preliminaries at 9.74 seconds. Posimo had the top time in the preliminaries at 8.90 seconds. Wisniewski placed fifth in the 55-meter dash in a time of 7.68 seconds after placing first in the preliminaries at 7.55 seconds. Sophomore Katelyn Chando was sixth in the 55-meter dash in 8.13 seconds, and she was sixth in the preliminaries in 7.84 seconds while Wert was 12th at 8.11 seconds. Beck took third in the 200-meter dash in 27.70 seconds while Wert was 13th in 29.42 seconds and Lopez placed 16th in a time of 30.03 seconds. Chando also finished fifth in the 400-meter dash in 1:04.83.

Junior Kayla Teeling placed fourth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:34.87 while freshman Kristen Labert took 13th in 2:43.81. Sophomore Kaleen Holden finished 16th in 2:46.72 while junior Naomie Kachel was 18th in the race in a time of 2:54.31. Senior Katie Pulizzano was second in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 20:21.02 while freshman Tara Chiarella placed third at 20:22.24 and junior Kelly Williams took sixth in 20:41.65.

The Greyhounds had a second team of Chando, Riggs, Kennerknecht and Lopez in the 4x200-meter relay that placed fifth in a time of 1:56.70 while the "B" team of Chando, Teeling, Holden and Labert in the 4x400-meter relay finished sixth at 4:36.65.

Sophomore Anna Heim captured the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.35 meters (11 feet) that qualifies for the 2008 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III Championships while sophomore Flora Robertson won the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 13.16 meters (43 feet, 2 1/4 inches) which also qualifies for the ECAC meet. Sophomore Jessica Posimo was victorious in the long jump with a leap of 5.18 meters (17 feet), in the triple jump with a distance of 10.76 meters (35 feet, 3 3/4 inches) and the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.66 seconds, qualifying for the ECAC Championships in the two jumping events. Sophomore Rachel Beck captured the 60-meter dash in 8.09 seconds while freshman Sydni Wisnewski won the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:02.56 and the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 26.99 seconds.

Heim placed second in the long jump with a leap of 4.81 meters (15 feet, 9 1/2 inches) while senior Ashlee Scarborough was fifth at 4.35 meters (14 feet, 3 1/4 inches). Sophomore Rachel Riggs took second in the triple jump with a distance of 10.65 meters (34 feet, 11 1/4 inches) that qualifies for the ECAC meet while junior Thea Kennerknecht was third in the pole vault, clearing 3.05 meters (ten feet), and ECAC qualifying height.

Freshman Shannon McEvoy placed third in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.91 seconds while freshman Alexandra Lopez was fourth in 10.47 seconds. Wisnewski placed sixth in 10.75 seconds while Heim was seventh at 10.86 seconds. Wisnewski was second in the 60-meter dash in 8.18 seconds while sophomore Katelyn Chando tied for fifth at 8.42 seconds. Posimo was seventh at 8.56 seconds while McEvoy was ninth in 8.67 seconds. Freshman Alyssa Wert placed tenth in 8.72 seconds while Lopez was 11th at 8.75 seconds and Heim took 12th in a time of 8.81 seconds. Chando finished sixth in the 400-meter dash while Beck was second in the 200-meter dash in 27.21 seconds. Posimo placed fourth in the 200-meter dash in 28.52 seconds while Wert was fifth in 28.63 seconds, Heim finished sixth in 28.88, McEvoy placed seventh in 29.15 and Lopez was ninth in a time of 29.54 seconds.

Freshman Kaleen Holden was second in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 3:23.73 while freshman Tara Chiarella placed third in 3:27.09. Junior Kelly Williams was fourth in the 1,000-meter run in 3:39.33 while freshman Michelle Onori took fifth in 4:12.23. Freshman Alyssa Labert was sixth in the 800-meter run in 2:43.05 while freshman Sarah Ziegenfuss took eighth in 2:45.64.

In the relay events, Chiarella, Holden, Williams and Ziegenfuss finished third in the 4x800-meter relay in a time of 11:11.99 while Beck, Wisnewski, Heim and Wert placed second in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:20.90.
