Moravian had a relay team compete on the third day and final day of the 2009 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships being hosted by Marietta College. Moravian tied for 24th of the 79 schools that received a point as the Greyhounds scored 11 points in the meet. Wartburg (IA) College captured the team national championship with 52 points after winning the 4x400-meter relay in the final event of the meet while the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh was second with 50 points.
Juniors Rachel Beck, Jessica Posimo and Symonne Scott and sophomore Sydni Wisniewski earn All-American honors with a sixth place finish in a school record time of 47.39 seconds, 0.13 seconds faster than their time in the preliminaries on Thursday. The sixth place showing gave Moravian three more team points. The relay squad from Wartburg (IA) College won the race in 46.21 seconds, the fastest time in NCAA Division III this season.
The All-American honors are the first for Beck, Posimo and Wisniewski while Scott was an All-American at the 2009 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships in the long jump.

The Greyhounds had one individual compete on the second day of the 2009 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships being hosted by Marietta College. Moravian is currently tied for tenth with eight points while the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse is first of 48 schools that have scored a point with 33 points.
Junior Anna Heim earned All-American honors for the second time this year and the fourth time in her career with a runner-up finish in the pole vault. Heim cleared a height of 3.92 meters (12 feet, 10 1/4 inches) on her second attempt to earn eight points, and she attempted, 4.02 meters (13 feet, 2 1/4 inches), the winning height by Rachel Secrest of North Central College, which set a new NCAA Division III meet record. Heim missed on her three attempts at the height after clearing it at last week's ECAC Division III Championships.
This marks the second time Heim finished as the runner-up to Secrest at the national meet as both competitors cleared 3.86 meters (12 feet, eight inches) at the 2009 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships with Secrest doing it in fewer attempts to win the title.

Moravian had two individuals and a relay team compete on the first day of the 2009 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships being hosted by Marietta College. The Greyhounds did not score a point on the first day of competition while the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse is first of 28 schools that have scored a point with 23 points.
Moravian's 4x100-meter relay team of juniors Rachel Beck, Jessica Posimo and Symonne Scott and sophomore Sydni Wisniewski started the meet for the Greyhounds with a school record time of 47.52 seconds. The time was good enough for third in their heat, and more importantly eighth overall of the 14 competing relay teams moving the Greyhounds into Saturday's championship race at 1:10 p.m. Moravian will run in lane one for the championship.
Scott and Posimo also competed in the long jump competition on the first day of the meet. Scott was fourth in her flight and tenth of the 20 competitors with a jump of 5.40 meters (17 feet, 8 3/4 inches). Posimo was tenth in the flight and 17th overall at a distance of 5.28 meters (17 feet, four inches).

The Greyhounds captured their second straight Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Outdoor Championship, posting a team total of 67 points to top the 56 schools that scored points at the 2009 meet hosted by Springfield College. Cabrini College was second with 60 points while MIT was third with 58 points.
Moravian, which was going back-and-forth with MIT throughout the second day of competition for the team lead, took control during the 200-meter dash as the Greyhounds had three competitors earn a total of 16 points in the race. Sophomore Sydni Wisniewski was the runner-up in a time of 25.46 seconds to earn eight points while junior Symonne Scott was third in 25.51 seconds to garner six points and junior Jessica Posimo was seventh in a time of 25.91 seconds to earn two points. The trio teamed with junior Rachel Beck for a runner-up finish in the 4x100-meter relay with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 48.02 seconds. The quartet improved its standing for next week's NCAA Division III National Championships to the ninth best time in the country this year.
Wisniewski set a school record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.65 seconds, placing third to earn six points. Wisniewski and Posimo teamed with freshmen Hailey Neff and Kristina Ruggiero to post a school record time of 3:59.29 in the 4x400-meter relay in the final event of the meet, placing sixth to earn the final three points of the championship.
Posimo took third in the 100-meter hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 14.91 seconds to earn Moravian six points while Scott took fifth in the 100-meter dash in 12.73 seconds to earn four points. Neff just missed scoring points, placing ninth in the 800-meter run in 2:17.33.
In the field events on the second day of competition, Posimo placed third in the long jump with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying distance of 5.53 meters (18 feet, 1 3/4 inches) to garner six points while Scott was fifth at 5.38 meters (17 feet, eight inches) to earn four more points. Freshman Brittany Moses finished 14th in the discus throw with a toss of 35.55 meters (116 feet, eight inches) while junior Rachel Riggs was 16th in the triple jump with a distance of 10.72 meters (35 feet, two inches).

Moravian, the defending ECAC Division III Champion, is in fourth place of 24 schools that scored points after the first day of competition at the 2009 ECAC Division III Championships being hosted by Springfield College. The Greyhounds currently have 14 points while Waynesburg College is in first place with 32 points after going 1-2-3 in the javelin throw. MIT and host Springfield are tied for second with 16 points. Junior Anna Heim earned an ECAC individual championship in the pole vault by becoming the first female in Moravian history to clear 4.00 meters. Heim cleared an NCAA Division III automatic qualifying height of 4.02 meters (13 feet, 2 1/4 inches) to earn ten points for the Greyhounds and to head into next week's NCAA Division III National Championships tied for first in the nation.
The Greyhounds would earn another point in the pole vault with senior Christine Kihm clearing 3.45 meters (11 feet, 3 3/4 inches) while the final three points of the first day came from junior Flora Robertson, who placed sixth in the hammer throw with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying and school record toss of 48.31 meters (158 feet, six inches), which improves her to 25th in the nation this season. In the other finals event on the first day for Moravian, sophomore Mary King placed 12th in the javelin throw with a toss of 34.58 meters (113 feet, five inches) while sophomore Kaleen Holden was 15th at 33.62 meters (110 feet, four inches).
In preliminary races, the Greyhounds moved two of three competitors onto the finals. In the 100-meter dash, junior Symonne Scott was second in her heat and placed eighth overall for the final spot in the championship race with a time of 13.10 seconds. Junior Jessica Posimo also advanced to the finals of the 100-meter hurdles, winning her heat in a time of 16.06 seconds. Posimo had the seventh best time of the preliminaries but was fourth thanks to winning her heat. Sophomore Shannon McEvoy took 14th in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.50 seconds.

Moravian had six individuals and one relay team compete at the 2009 NYC Qualifying Challenge competed at Ichan Stadium hosted by the Randall's Island Sports Foundation. Junior Jessica Posimo had the top individual finish, placing third in the long jump in a schhol record, an NCAA Division III automatic and ECAC qualifying distance of 5.81 meters (19 feet, 3/4 inches), and she was tenth in the 100-meter hurdles in an ECAC qualifying time of 14.98 seconds.
Junior Symonne Scott was fifth in the long jump with an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying distance of 5.73 meters (18 feet, 9 3/4 inches), and Scott was fourth in the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 25.60 seconds and seventh in the 100-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 12.42 seconds. She had a preliminary time of 12.41 seconds in the 100-meter dash. Sophomore Sydni Wisniewski was fifth in the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 25.65 seconds, and she took 12th in the 400-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 58.17 seconds.
Junior Rachel Riggs was eighth in the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 11.17 meters (36 feet, 7 3/4 inches) while sophomore Mary King was seventh in the javelin throw with an ECAC qualifying toss of 35.85 meters (117 feet, seven inches). Junior Rachel Beck posted an ECAC qualifying time of 12.95 seconds to place 12th in the 100-meter dash after an ECAC qualifying time of 12.77 seconds in the preliminaries.
Scott, Wisniewski, Posimo and Beck ran in the 4x100-meter relay, finishing fourth with an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying time of 48.34 seconds.

The Greyhounds defended their Landmark Conference title, winning the 2009 Landmark Conference Championships hosted by Goucher College. Moravian scored 318 points, more than double that of runner-up Juniata College, which registered 154 points.
Moravian had seven individual and two relay champions in the 14 events that awarded titles during the second day of the meet. Freshman Hailey Neff was honored as the Female Rookie of the Year after winning the 800-meter run in a Landmark Conference meet record and ECAC qualifying time of 2:17.28, and she ran a leg on Moravian's winning 4x400-meter relay squad that posted an ECAC qualifying time of 4:00.47.
The Greyhounds had one dual champion on the second day of the meet with sophomore Sydni Wisniewski capturing the 200-meter dash in a Landmark Conference meet record and ECAC qualifying time of 25.29 seconds and winning the 400-meter dash in a school record, a Landmark Conference meet record and an ECAC qualifying time of 57.95 seconds.
Junior Symonne Scott captured her second title of the meet, winning the 100-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 12.62 seconds while junior Jessica Posimo captured the 100-meter hurdles in an ECAC qualifying time of 15.01 seconds. Junior Flora Robertson won the hammer throw with a school record, a Landmark Conference meet record, an NCAA Division III provisional and an ECAC qualifying distance of 47.37 meters (155 feet, five inches). Junior Rachel Riggs captured the triple jump with a Landmark Conference meet record distance of 10.81 meters (35 feet, 5 3/4 inches).
Wisniewski, Scott, Posimo and Riggs combined to run Moravian's winning 4x100-meter relay while Neff, Wisniewski, Posimo and junior Anna Heim posted the winning time in the 4x400-meter relay.
Wisniewski finished as the runner-up in the 100-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 12.65 seconds while Posimo was third in 12.86 seconds. Junior Rachel Beck placed fourth in 12.89 seconds while Riggs was fifth at 12.98 seconds. In the 200-meter dash, Posimo was the runner-up in an ECAC qualifying time of 25.75 seconds while Riggs took fourth in an ECAC qualifying time of 26.23 seconds. Scott placed sixth in 26.32 seconds while sophomore Alyssa Wert was seventh in 27.04 seconds. Junior Katelyn Chando was third in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.17 while sophomore Mallory Goggins placed seventh in 1:03.01.
Sophomore Shannon McEvoy was second in the 100-meter hurdles in an ECAC qualifying time of 15.55 seconds while sophomore Alexandra Lopez was third in an ECAC qualifying time of 16.19 seconds. Heim took second in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:06.38 while Chando was fourth in 1:09.34.
Freshman Kristina Ruggiero was fourth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:23.64 while senior Naomie Kachel finished fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 12:57.62. Senior Kelly Williams was third in the 5,000-meter run in 19:44.28.
Posimo was the runner-up in the triple jump at 10.75 meters (35 feet, 3 1/4 inches) while McEvoy was third at 10.47 meters (34 feet, 4 1/4 inches) and freshman Erin George took ninth with a distance of 9.52 meters (31 feet, three inches).
Freshman Anne Joseph took fourth in the shot put with a toss of 10.41 meters (34 feet, two inches) while freshman Brittany Moses was seventh at 9.76 meters (32 feet, 1/4 inch). Moses was fourth in the hammer throw at 38.05 meters (124 feet, ten inches) while sophomore Molly DuVall took seventh at 32.98 meters (108 feet, two inches) and Joseph placed eighth at 31.38 meters (102 feet, 11 inches).

Moravian is in first place of five schools scoring points after the first day of the 2009 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships being hosted by Goucher College. The defending champion Greyhounds scored 105 points in the first day of the meet with four individual champions in the seven completed events. Juniata is in second place with 68 points.
The Greyhounds had four champions of the first day included junior Anna Heim winning the pole vault at an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying height of 3.60 meters (11 feet, 9 3/4 inches), junior Symonne Scott capturing the long jump with a school record tying, a Landmark Conference meet record, an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying distance of 5.64 meters (18 feet, six inches), sophomore Mary King finishing first in the javelin throw with an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying distance of 40.09 meters (131 feet, six inches) and freshman Brittany Moses winning the discus with a Landmark Conference meet record and ECAC qualifying distance of 36.28 meters (119 feet).
Senior Christine Kihm was the runner-up in the pole vault at an ECAC qualifying height of 3.35 meters (ten feet, 11 3/4 inches). Junior Jessica Posimo was the runner-up in the long jump with an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying distance of 5.47 meters (17 feet, 11 1/2 inches) while junior Rachel Riggs took third with an ECAC qualifying leap of 5.31 meters (17 feet, 5 1/4 inches). Sophomore Shannon McEvoy was fifth in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 5.25 meters (17 feet, 2 3/4 inches) while sophomore Alexandra Lopez took sixth at 5.01 meters (16 feet, 5 1/4 inches).
Sophomore Kaleen Holden took third in the javelin throw at 34.75 meters (114 feet) while freshman Anne Joseph took fourth at 32.10 meters (105 feet, four inches) and junior Aliina Ross was seventh at 28.79 meters (94 feet, five inches). Joseph took third in the discus with a toss 34.40 meters (112 feet, ten inches) while junior Flora Robertson placed fifth at 30.57 meters (110 feet, three inches).
Senior Kelly Williams was the runner-up in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 40:34.83 while freshman Kristina Ruggiero finished fourth in the 1,500-meter run in 4:59.65.
In preliminary events, sophomore Syndi Wisniewski placed first in the 100-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 12.78 seconds while Scott was second in 12.81 seconds. Junior Rachel Beck took third in the 100-meter dash in 12.93 seconds while Posimo was fourth in 12.96 seconds, Riggs was fifth in 13.08 seconds and sophomore Alyssa Wert took seventh in 13.22 seconds. All six runners advanced to the final. Wisniewski also finished first in the preliminaries of the 400-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 59.53 seconds while junior Katelyn Chando took third in 1:01.60 and sophomore Mallory Goggins took eighth in 1:02.68 with all three advancing to the finals.
Wisniewski placed first in the preliminaries of the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 26.12 seconds while Posimo was second at 26.43 seconds. Scott was third in 26.48 seconds while Riggs technically took fourth sinfle Wisniewski, Scott and Posimo each won their heats, but Riggs had the second fastest preliminary time at 26.35 seconds. Wert took eight in 27.13 seconds to give the Greyhounds five runners in the final of the 200-meter dash while Chando took 11th in 27.72 seconds. Posimo was first in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles in an ECAC qualifying time of 15.40 seconds while McEvoy was second in an ECAC qualifying time of 15.86 seconds. Lopez took third in the hurdles in 16.60 seconds with all three competitors making the final.
At 115th Penn Relays No Team Scores Complete Event Results
Moravian junior Anna Heim won the Women's College Pole Vault at the 115th Penn Relays. She was the only NCAA Division III competitor, and one of only two non-NCAA Division I vaulters in the field of 35. Heim cleared an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying height of 3.80 meters (12 feet, 5 1/2 inches). She vaulted six inches higher than any other competitor. Lesley Bautista from The College of Holy Cross led a group of six vaulters at 3.65 meters (11 feet, 11 3/4 inches). A total of 27 of the 35 competitors registered a height in the event.

The Greyhounds hosted the non-scoring Greyhound Invitational at Rocco Calvo Field and Timothy Breidegam Track. Moravian had one first place finish with junior Anna Heim winning the pole vault with an NCAA Division III automatic, an ECAC qualifying and meet record height of 3.87 meters (12 feet, 8 1/4 inches).
Junior Symonne Scott took third in the 100-meter dash with an ECAC qualifying time of 12.66 seconds. Sophomore Sydni Wisniewski placed fifth in the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 25.86 seconds, and she was seventh in the 400-meter dash with an ECAC qualifying time of 58.41 seconds. Junior Jessica Posimo placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in an ECAC qualifying time of 15.40 seconds. The Greyhounds 4x100-meter relay squad of Scott, Wisniewski, Posimo and junior Rachel Riggs Riggs finished fifth in an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying time of 48.54 seconds.
Freshman Hailey Neff placed fifth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:20.42 while freshman Kristina Ruggiero was tenth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:01.73. Senior Naomie Kachel was seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 13:01.06. Moravian's 4x400-meter relay squad finished fifth in an ECAC qualifying time of 4:03.50.
Scott was fourth in the long jump with an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying distance of 5.50 meters (18 feet, 1/2 inch) while Posimo took fifth with an NCAA Division III and ECAC qualifying mark of 5.49 meters (18 feet, 1/4 inch). Riggs placed sixth in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying leap of 5.29 meters (17 feet, 4 1/4 inches). Riggs also took sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.96 meters (35 feet, 11 1/2 inches) while Posimo was eighth at 10.67 meters (35 feet, 1/4 inch).

Moravian opened the 2009 Greyhound Invitational by hosting the hammer throw at Rocco Calvo Field. Junior Flora Robertson placed sixth in the 31-athlete field with a season best and ECAC Division III qualifying throw of 45.77 meters (150 feet, two inches). Freshman Anne Joseph was 19th with a toss of 35.23 meters (115 feet, seven inches).

The Greyhounds placed third of 13 schools at the 2009 New Jersey Invitational hosted by The College of New Jersey. Moravian scored 109.5 points while the host Lions won the meet with 183 points. The Greyhounds had one individual winnes and a relay team take first place. Senior Flora Robertson won the hammer throw with a toss of 41.94 meters (137 feet, seven inches). Moravian's 4x100-meter relay squad of juniors Jessica Posimo, Rachel Riggs and Symonne Scott and sophomore Sydni Wisniewski captured first place in an ECAC qualifying time of 49.07 seconds.
Posimo was the runner-up in the 200-meter dash in 26.38 seconds while Riggs was third in 26.61 seconds. Scott took sixth in the 200-meter dash in 27.06 seconds while sophomore Alyssa Wert was ninth in a time of 27.86 seconds. Wisniewski was second in the 400-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 59.29 seconds while junior Katelyn Chando was seventh in 1:04.88. Wisniewski also placed fifth in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.99 seconds after an ECAC qualifying time of 12.78 seconds in the preliminaries. Scott was sixth in the 100-meter dash in 13.08 seconds.
Posimo was also the runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles with an ECAC qualifying time of 15.36 seconds. Junior Anna Heim placed third in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:08.43.
Senior Naomie Kachel was fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 13:00.32 while freshman Kristina Ruggiero was seventh in the 800-meter run in 2:32.46.
Posimo finished fifth in the long jump with a leap of 5.12 meters (16 feet, 9 3/4 inches) while Riggs was tied for sixth at 5.08 meters (16 feet, eight inches). Scott was ninth in the long jump at 4.94 meters (16 feet, 2 1/2 inches).
Freshman Anne Joseph was the runner-up in the shot put with a toss of 10.96 meters (35 feet, 11 1/2 inches) while freshman Brittany Moses took ninth with a distance of 9.30 meters (30 feet, 6 1/4 inches). Joseph was also fifth in the discus with a toss of 32.15 meters (105 feet, six inches) while Moses took seventh at 31.61 meters (103 feet, eight inches) and Robertson was tenth at 27.95 meters (91 feet, eight inches). Moses was fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 38.60 meters (126 feet, eight inches) while sophomore Molly DuVall took seventh at 32.61 meters (107 feet). Sophomore Mary King was the runner-up in the javelin throw with a toss of 32.34 meters (106 feet, one inch) while junior Aliina Ross was tenth at 28.65 meters (94 feet).

The Greyhounds competed at the non-scoring Muhlenberg College Invitational. All of the track times at the meet were hand held times after the timer for Muhlenberg was unable to attend due to travel complications. Moravian did have three first place individual finishes all by junior Jessica Posimo, who won the long jump with a leap of 5.23 meters (17 feet, two inches), the triple jump with a distance of 10.90 meters (35 feet, 9 1/4 inches) and the 100-meter hurdles in a hand held time of 14.6 seconds. The Greyhounds' 4x100-meter relay team Posimo, juniors Rachel Riggs and Symonne Scott and sophomore Sydni Wisniewski also finished first with a hand held time of 48.5 seconds.
In top ten track results, Wisniewski took second in the 100-meter dash in 12.4 seconds, second in the 200-meter dash in 27.0 seconds and second in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.5. Posimo was fifth in the 200-meter dash in 27.5 seconds, and she was seventh in the 100-meter dash in 12.6 seconds. Riggs was sixth in the 200-meter dash in 28.2 seconds while sophomore Alyssa Wert finished ninth in 28.5 seconds. Sophomore Mallory Goggins was sixth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:03.5 while junior Katelyn Chando was tenth in 1:04.2. Sophomore Shannon McEvoy placed third in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.8 seconds while sophomore Alexandra Lopez was seventh in 16.8 seconds.
In the distance events, freshman Hailey Neff took fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:26.8 while classmate Kristina Ruggiero was sixth in 2:27.6. Ruggiero also placed eighth in the 1,500-meter run in 5:07.7 while senior Naomie Kachel was ninth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 13:33.7.
Riggs placed second in the triple jump at 10.85 meters (35 feet, 7 1/4 inches) while McEvoy was eighth at 10.02 meters (32 feet, 10 1/2 inches) and freshman Erin George was tenth with a distance of 9.86 meters (32 feet, 4 1/4 inches). Scott finished third in the long jump at 5.18 meters (17 feet) while Riggs was fourth at 5.13 meters (16 feet, ten inches) and Lopez was sixth at 4.92 meters (16 feet, 1 3/4 inches). Senior Christine Kihm was the runner-up in the pole vault, which was competed indoors due to the wind, with a height of 3.35 meters (10 feet, 11 3/4 inches).
Sophomore Kaleen Holden was third in the javelin throw with a toss of 35.25 meters (115 feet, eight inches) while sophomore Mary King took fifth at 33.90 meters (111 feet, three inches). Freshman Anne Joseph was ninth in the shot put with a distance of 9.84 meters (32 feet, 3 1/2 inches). The hammer throw and discus events were cancelled due to the weather.

Moravian opened the 2009 outdoor season with a first place finish at the Lafayette College 8-Way meet run on the Greyhounds' own track due to construction at Lafayette. Moravian scored 124 points, finishing eight and a half points ahead of runner-up NCAA Division I St. Joseph's University, which had 115.5 points.
The Greyhounds had four individual and one relay champion with junior Jessica Posimo capturing the 100-meter hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying time of 14.92 seconds and the long jump with an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying distance of 5.52 meters (18 feet, 1 1/2 inches). Junior Anna Heim won the pole vault, clearing an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying height of 3.65 meters (11 feet, 11 3/4 inches) while sophomore Sydni Wisniewski won the 400-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 58.76 seconds. Moravian's 4x100-meter relay squad of Posimo, Wisniewski and juniors Symonne Scott and Rachel Riggs posted an ECAC qualifying time of 48.70 seconds while winning the race.
In other top ten sprint results, Wisniewski was the runner-up in the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 25.74 seconds while Posimo took fourth in an ECAC qualifying time of 26.23 seconds. Scott placed second in the 100-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 12.63 seconds, and she was third in the 200-meter dash with another ECAC qualifying time of 26.03 seconds. Riggs placed seventh in the 100-meter dash in 13.05 seconds, and she was eighth in the 200-meter dash in 26.65 seconds. Sophomore Mallory Goggins took fifth in the 400-meter dash in 1:04.24 while sophomore Alyssa Wert was eighth in 1:06.43 and senior Stephanie Miller was ninth in a time of 1:07.71. Sophomore Shannon McEvoy tied for tenth in the 100-meter hurdles with an ECAC qualifying time of 16.18 seconds.
Senior Naomie Kachel was seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 13:25.36 as the Greyhounds' only top ten finisher in the distance events.
In other field results, Posimo placed ninth in the high jump, clearing 1.55 meters (five feet, one inch) while Riggs was fourth in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying leap of 5.30 meters (17 feet, 4 3/4 inches). Sophomore Alezandra Lopez was sixth in the long jump with a distance of 5.08 meters (16 feet, eight inches). Riggs also took third in the triple jump with a leap of 10.84 meters (35 feet, 6 3/4 inches) while McEvoy placed eighth at 10.30 meters (33 feet, 9 1/2 inches).
Sophomore Kaleen Holden placed third in the javelin throw with an ECAC qualifying toss of 35.56 meters (116 feet, eight inches) while sophomore Mary King was fourth with an ECAC qualifying distance of 35.31 meters (115 feet, ten inches). Junior Aliina Ross was seventh in the javelin at 32.54 meters (106 feet, nine inches) while junior Flora Robertson placed fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 42.13 meters (138 feet, three inches). Freshman Brittany Moses was fourth in the discus throw with an ECAC qualifying toss of 36.37 meters (119 feet, four inches) while freshman Anne Joseph took ninth in the shot put at 10.50 meters (34 feet, 5 1/2 inches).

Moravian had three competitors on the first day of the 2009 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships being hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
The Greyhounds were tied for fifth of 40 teams scoring points on the first day of competition with ten points. Moravian finished the meet tied for 21st of 68 teams scoring points. Wartburg College won the team national championship with 51 points.
Junior Anna Heim earned All-America accolades for the second straight year indoors in the pole vault and the third time in her career as she cleared a school record 3.86 meters (12 feet, eight inches) to finish second on the number of jumps at the height. Heim was one of four competitors that attempted to clear an NCAA meet record of 3.96 meters (12 feet, 11 3/4 inches); however, all four missed their three attempts at the height.

Junior Symonne Scott competed in the first event of the day, the long jump, and earned All-America honors for the first time in her career with a seventh place jump of 5.42 meters (17 feet, 9 1/2 inches). Scott jumped the distance on her second jump of the preliminary flight and then again on her first jump in the finals. Scott earned two team points for her finish.

The Greyhounds placed second of 51 teams scoring points at the 2009 ECAC Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Tufts University. Moravian, the defending champion, had 56 points while Springfield College won the meet with 62 points. Moravian and Springfield were tied with 23 points on the first day of competition. The Greyhounds had one individual champion with junior Symonne Scott winning the long jump with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying leap of 5.57 meters (18 feet, 3 1/4 inches).
Scott placed sixth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 26.14 to earn Moravian three points while sophomore Sydni Wisniewski was seventh in 26.16 for two points and junior Jessica Posimo was eighth in 26.28 for one point. Junior Rachel Riggs was 16th in the 200-meter dash in 26.77 seconds.
Wisniewski earned the Greyhounds five points with a fourth place finish in the 400-meter dash in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 58.65 seconds while Posimo earned five points with a fourth place in the 55-meter hurdles in a school record and NCAA Division III provisional quaifying time of 8.38 seconds. Posimo also earned Moravian three points with a sixth place finish in the long jump at 5.23 meters (17 feet, two inches) while Riggs received one team point for an eighth place finish of 5.09 meters (16 feet, 8 1/2 inches).
The Greyhounds' 4x400-meter relay squad of Wisniewski, junior Katelyn Chando and freshmen Hailey Neff and Brooke DiNitzio finished seventh in a school record time of 4:02.43 to earn Moravian two team points while the 4x800-relay team of Wisniewski, Neff, DiNitzio and freshman Kristina Ruggiero was eighth in a time of 9:55.94 to earn one team point.

Defending champion Moravian is tied for first of 33 teams that have scored points after the first day of the 2009 ECAC Division III Indoor Championships being hosted by Tufts University. The Greyhounds and Springfield College each have 23 points after the first seven scored events.
While Moravian didn't have an individual champion on the first day, the Greyhounds did set three school records. Junior Anna Heim earned eight points while finishing second in the pole vault in a school record and NCAA Division III automatic qualifying height of 3.85 meters (12 feet, 7 1/2 inches), which was the winning height but it took Heim more attempts to clear it. The Greyhounds' 4x200-meter relay squad of juniors Jessica Posimo, Symmone Scott and Rachel Riggs and sophomore Syndi Wisniewski earned six points with a school record time of 1:45.01 while Posimo set the school mark in the preliminaries of the 55-meter hurdles with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 8.41 seconds, which was fourth and moved her into the finals on Saturday.
Posimo also earned the Greyhounds six points with a third place finish in the indoor pentathlon with 3,018 points, which meets the NCAA Division III provisional qualifying standard. Wisniewski picked up three points with a sixth place in the indoor pentathlon with 2,817 points. Senior Christine Kihm finished 12th in the pole vault, clearing 3.25 meters (ten feet, eight inches) while Riggs was 22nd in the triple jumpe at 10.38 meters (34 feet, 3/4 inch).
In other preliminary action, junior Rachel Beck was 12th in the 55-meter dash in 7.41 seconds, missing the finals by five-hundredths of a second while Riggs was 22nd in the 55-meter hurdle preliminaries in 10.63 seconds.

The Greyhound women swept the individual awards as well with sophomore Sydni Wisniewski earning Track Athlete of the Year honors, junior Jessica Posimo taking the Field Athlete of the Year accolades, freshman Hailey Neff winning Rookie of the Year honors and head coach Walt Wandall and his assistants of Mike Lawryk, Welles Lobb, Louis Corominas, Jared Anderson and Tyler Jones earning Coaching Staff of the Year accolades.
The Moravian women won nine of 13 individual events and two of four relays in the meet. Wisniewski captured the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 25.99 seconds and the 400-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 49.48 seconds. She also ran the anchor leg on Moravian’s winning 4x200 and 4x800-meter relay teams in times of 1:45.71 in the 4x200, which broke the school record, the Landmark Conference record and qualified for the ECAC meet, and 10:03.20 in the 4x800, which also set the Landmark Conference record and qualified for the ECAC Championships. Wisniewski also had a second place finish in the 55-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 7.46 seconds, and she was fifth in the long jump at 5.04 meters (16 feet, 6 ½ inches).
Posimo finished first the long jump with an ECAC qualifying leap of 5.31 meters (17 feet, 5 ¼ inches), the 55-meter hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional, an ECAC qualifying time and Landmark Conference record of 8.50 seconds and the triple jump with a Landmark Conference record and ECAC qualifying distance of 11.11 meters (36 feet, 5 ½ inches). Posimo was also the runner-up in the high jump at 1.52 meters (four feet, 11 ¾ inches), matching the winning height in more attempts, and the runner-up in the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 26.67 seconds.
Neff captured the 800-meter run in 2:25.73, and she ran the first leg of Moravian’s winning 4x800-meter relay. The Greyhounds’ other individual champions included junior Flora Robertson winning the 20-pound weight throw with an ECAC qualifying toss of 14.29 meters (46 feet, 10 ¾ inches), junior Rachel Beck winning the 55-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 7.42 seconds after a time of 7.40 seconds in the preliminaries and junior Anna Heim capturing the pole vault at an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying height of 3.70 meters (12 feet, 1 ½ inches). Beck and juniors Symonne Scott and Rachel Riggs teamed with Wisniewski on the winning 4x200-meter relay while freshmen Brooke DiNitzio and Kristina Ruggiero ran on the winning 4x800-meter relay squad with Neff and Wisniewski.
In other top ten track results, Riggs was the runner-up in the 55-meter hurdles in an ECAC qualifying time of 9.03 seconds, just one-one hundredth of a second under the qualifying time. Scott was third in the 55-meter dash in 7.60 seconds while Riggs took fifth in 7.68 seconds and junior Katelyn Chando was sixth in 7.86 seconds. DiNitzio was fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.21 while sophomore Mallory Goggins was sixth at 1:03.71 and Chando was seventh in 1:04.14. Scott posted an ECAC qualifying time of 26.77 seconds in th 200-meter dash while Beck was fifth in 26.95 seconds, Riggs was sixth at 27.35 seconds and sophomore Alyssa Wert finished ninth in 28.29 seconds. Moravian's 4x400-meter relay squad of Wert, Chando, Heim and Goggins took second in 4:18.12.
Moravian's 4,000-meter distance medley relay team of Neff, Ruggiero, DiNitizo and freshman Cadee Rockwell took third in a time of 13:20.46, which was one of three times in the meet to pass the previous Landmark Conference record. Ruggiero placed sixth in the mile run with a tome of 5:33.19 while Rockwell took eighth in 5:54.08 and freshman Kathryn Engwall was tenth in 6:05.32. Senior Kelly Williams was fourth in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 19:23.11.
Riggs was the runner-up in the long jump at an ECAC qualifying distance of 5.25 meters (17 feet, 2 3/4 inches) while Scott took third with an ECAC qualifying leap of 5.14 meters (16 feet, 10 1/2 inches). Senior Christine Kihm placed second in the pole vault with an ECAC qualifying height of 3.28 meters (ten feet, nine inches) while Scott was third in the high jump at 1.47 meters (four feet, 9 3/4 inches). Riggs was second in the triple jump with a distance of 10.61 meters (34 feet, 9 3/4 inches) while freshman Erin George placed seventh at 9.79 meters (32 feet, 1 1/2 inches).
Freshman Brittany Moses was the runner-up in the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 13.73 meters (45 feet, 1/2 inch) while freshman Anne Joseph took fourth at 12.27 meters (40 feet, 3 1/4 inches) and sophomore Molly DuVall was seventh with a distance of 11.13 meters (36 feet, 6 1/4 inches). Joseph took second in the shot put with a toss of 11.42 meters (37 feet, 5 3/4 inches), which passed the previous Landmark Conference record, while Moses took fourth at 10.08 meters (33 feet, one inch). Robertson was sixth in the shot put at 9.37 meters (30 feet, nine inches) while DuVall placed tenth at 8.45 meters (27 feet, 8 3/4 inches).

Sophomore Sydni Wisniewski captured first place in the 400-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 59.49 seconds while freshman Hailey Neff placed fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:23.58. Wisniewski and Neff combined with junior Katelyn Chando and freshman Brooke DiNitzio to win the 4x400-meter relay in a school record and ECAC qualifying time of 4:05.88.

Senior Christine Kihm had Moravian's top individual finish, winning the pole vault with an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying height of 3.50 meters (11 feet, 5 3/4 inches).
In top ten track results, junior Rachel Beck tied for sixth in the 60-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 8.04 seconds while junior Jessica Posimo was third in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.25 seconds after running an ECAC qualifying time of 9.17 seconds in the preliminaries. Junior Rachel Riggs placed eighth in the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 26.88 seconds while Beck tied for ninth in 27.04 seconds. Freshman Brook DiNitzio tied for ninth in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.43 while senior Kelly Williams was fourth in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 19:54.20.

Moravian had three competitiors participate in the indoor pentathlon at the Kane Invitational hosted by Cornell University. Junior Jessica Posimo placed third with an ECAC qualifying point total of 3,062 points while sophomore Sydni Wisniewski was fourth with an ECAC qualifying point total of 2,863 points. Junior Symonne Scott took sixth with 2,652 points. Posimo ran a time of 9.20 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles to qualify for the ECAC meet and earn 869 points, and she qualified provisionally for the NCAA Division III Championships and for the ECAC Championships with a leap of 5.43 meters (17 feet, 9 3/4 inches) in the long jump to earn 680 points. Posimo also scored 610 points for a height of 1.49 meters (four feet, 10 1/2 inches) in the high jump and 352 points for a distance of 7.27 meters (23 feet, 10 1/4 inches) in the shot put. Posimo finished the pentathlon with 551 points in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:41.95.
Wisniewski had a time of 11.05 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles for 528 points, a distance of 4.89 meters (16 feet, 1/2 inch) in the long jump for 530 points, a height of 1.40 meters (four feet, seven inches) in the high jump for 512 points, a toss of 9.44 meters (30 feet, 11 3/4 inches) in the shot put for 493 points and a time of 2:24.78 in the 800-meter run good enough for 760 points. Scott earned 620 points for a time of 10.51 in the 60-meter hurdles, 654 points for an ECAC qualifying leap of 5.34 meters (17 feet, 6 1/4 inches) in the long jump, 644 points for clearing 1.52 meters (four feet, 11 3/4 inches), 365 points for a toss of 7.47 meters (24 feet, 6 1/4 inches) and 369 points for a time of 2:59.62 in the 800-meter run.

Junior Jessica Posimo won the long jump with an Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III qualifying distance of 5.30 meters (17 feet, 4 3/4 inches), and she captured the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 11.10 meters (36 feet, five inches). Senior Christine Kihm captured the pole vault with an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying height of 3.50 meters (11 feet, 5 3/4 inches) while freshman Anne Joseph won the shot put with a toss of 11.24 meters (36 feet, 10 1/2 inches). Wisniewski was the runner-up in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.88 while freshman Hailey Neff was second in the 1,000-meter run in 3:10.40. Beck finished fourth in the 200-mter dash in 27.47 seconds while Riggs was fifth in 27.60 seconds. Goggins took fourth in the 400-meter dash in 1:03.66 while Chando was eighth with a time of 1:04.83. DiNitzio was fifth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:29.77 while freshman Kristina Ruggiero was fifth in the mile run at 5:34.74. Senior Kelly Williams finished fifth in the 3,000-meter run in 11:20.39, and she was tenth in the 1,000-meter run in 3:34.63.

The Greyhounds returned to action for the first time in 2009 by competing at the non-scoring Orange & Maroon Classic hosted by Landmark Conference rival Susquehanna University. Moravian had three individual first place finishes in the field events led by junior Anna Heim capturing the pole vault in an NCAA Division III provisional and Eastern College Athletic Conference qualifying height of 3.66 meters (12 feet). Junior Symonne Scott won the long jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 5.27 meters (17 feet, 3 1/2 inches) while junior Flora Robertson won the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 13.96 meters (45 feet, 9 3/4 inches).
Senior Christine Kihm placed third in the pole vault, also qualifying for the ECAC Championships with a height of 3.35 meters (ten feet, 11 3/4 inches). Junior Jessica Posimo took second in the long jump at 4.96 meters (16 feet, 3 1/4 inches), and she was third in the triple jump with a distance of 10.36 meters (34 feet). Junior Rachel Riggs finished third in the long jump at 4.86 meters (15 feet, 11 1/2 inches), and she was seven in the triple jump at 10.15 meters (33 feet, 3 3/4 inches). Scott was fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.47 meters (four feet, 9 3/4 inches) while sophomore Sydni Wisniewski was tied for sixth at a height of 1.42 meters (four feet, 7 3/4 inches).
Sophomore Shannon McEvoy was seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 10.08 meters (33 feet, one inch). Freshman Anne Joseph took fifth in the shot put with a toss of 10.88 meters (35 feet, 8 1/2 inches) while freshman Brittany Moses was fifth in the 20-pound weight throw at 11.97 meters (39 feet, 3 1/4 inches).
On the track, Posimo qualified for the ECAC Championships in the 55-meter hurdles with a second place in the finals in a time of 8.71 seconds. Posimo had run 8.87 in the preliminaries while McEvoy just missed the finals with a seventh place time of 9.36 in the preliminary races. Scott was second in the 200-meter dash in 27.59 seconds while Wisniewski took fourth in 27.86 seconds and Riggs was tenth at 28.31 seconds. In the 55-meter dash, Scott and Wisniewski each made the finals with Scott taking third in 7.62 seconds and Wisniewski in sixth at 7.87 seconds. In the preliminaries, Scott ran a 7.71 while Wisniewski posted a 7.80.
Wisniewski did take fourth in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.45 while sophomore Mallory Goggins was eighth in 1:05.58 and junior Katelyn Chando was ninth in a time of 1:06.22. Freshman Brooke DiNitzio was second in the 800-meter run in 2:32.94 while freshman Kristina Ruggiero was tenth in the mile run with a time of 5:50.16.

Moravian began the 2008-09 season at the three-team, non-scoring Lehigh University Season Opener. The Greyhounds had nine individual first place finishes in the meet and one relay team take first place. Senior Christine Kihm captured the pole vault, clearing 11 feet, six inches (3.50 meters) while junior Flora Robertson won the 20-pound weight throw with a toss fo 14.21 meters (46 feet, 7 1/2 inches). Junior Symonne Scott captured both the long jump at 5.43 meters (17 feet, 9 3/4 inches) and the 60-meter dash in 8.10 seconds while freshman Anne Joseph won the shot put with a toss of 11.07 meters (36 feet, four inches). Junior Rachel Riggs took first in the triple jump with a distance of 10.62 meters (34 feet, 10 1/4 inches) while junior Aliina Ross captured an exhibition of the javelin thrown outside with a toss of 29.68 meters (97 feet, four inches). Freshman Kristina Ruggiero took first in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 3:21.71 while sophomore Sydni Wisniewski captured the 400-meter dash in 1:01.97. Moravian's 4x400-meter relay squad of Wisniewski, junior Katelyn Chando and freshmen Hailey Neff and Brooke DiNitzio was first in a time of 4:15.56.
The Greyhounds had several other top three finishers in the meet. Riggs was second in the long jump at 5.21 meters (17 feet, 1 1/4 inches) while junior Jessica Posimo took third at 5.20 meters (17 feet, 3/4 inch). Posimo was the runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.48 seconds while freshman Cadee Rockwell was second in the 1,000-meter run in 3:22.04 and freshman Kathryn Engwall was third at a time of 3:31.09. Wisniewski took second in the 60-meter dash in 8.20 seconds while sophomore Mallory Goggins was third in the 400-meter dash at 1:05.93. Scott was second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 26.70 seconds while Wisniewski was third at 26.98 seconds. Moravian's "B" 4x400-meter relay squad of Goggins, Ruggerio, sophomore Alyssa Wert and senior Naomie Kachel placed third in 4:37.13.
Freshman Brittany Moses placed fourth in the shot put with a toss of 10.49 meters (34 feet, five inches) while freshman Erin George was fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 9.71 meters (31 feet, 10 1/4 inches). Sophomore Shannon McEvoy took fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.92 seconds while senior Kelly Williams was fourth in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 3:33.73 and freshman Megan Hallowell was fifth at 3:39.84. Chando placed fourth in the 60-meter dash in 8.36 seconds, and she was fourth in the 400-meter dash in 1:06.57. Neff took fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:23.97 while DiNitzio was fifth in a time of 2:37.65. Posimo placed fifth in the 200-meter dash in 27.67 seconds.
