1998 Review

The Lady Greyhounds’ soccer team was led in scoring by junior Carli Miller (Wyomissing/Wilson West Lawn HS), who had 13 goals and five assists this year. Miller also surpassed the 100 mark for total points in a game against Alvernia.

Sophomore Amy Amadio (Temple/Muhlenberg HS) was the team’s second leading soccer with seven goals and three assists. Junior Jen Polaha (West Lawn/Holy Name HS) netted six goals and two assists this year to the team’s third leading scorer.

Other goal scorers this fall were senior Molly McGonigle (Maple Shade, NJ/Maple Shade HS), sophomore Lindsey Foreman (Sharon, MA/Sharon HS) and freshman Stevie Ochse (Bethlehem/Saucon Valley HS) with four goals, sophomore Marisa Confuorto (Neshanic Station, NJ/Hillsborough HS) netted three goals while Becky Matijasich (Dunwoody, GA/ Wilson West Lawn HS {PA}) and Deb Hartelius (Fanwood, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood HS) each had a goal this year. McGonigle finished her career with a total of 14 goals and six assists.

Other playmakers this year were freshman Nicole Kalogeras (Hatfield/Lansdale Catholic HS) with three assists and sophomore Mary Beth Walsh (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah HS) with an assist.

Senior captain Megan McGill (Blairstown, NJ/North Warren HS) had an assist this year with a career total of a goal and four assists, while senior Megan McGowan also has an assist this year netting a career total of four goals and three assists.

Helping the goalies on defense were McGill, McGowan, Confuorto, Ochse, Sophomore Dana Haraske (Northampton/Northampton HS) and freshman Becky Caulwell (Chester, NJ/Mt. Olive HS).

Sophomore goaltender Becky Roe (Worcester, NY/Worcester Central HS) had a 1.50 goals-against average and recorded four solo shutouts and was part of three others. Roe averaged 5.8 saves per match. Sophomore Heather Karp (Hellertown/Saucon Valley HS) contributed to three of the seven shutouts.
