Through
one course in the category of the social impact of science—such
as Medical Ethics or Media Technology and Society—students
acquire an informed perspective of the role of science and technology
in their lives. Upperclassmen also take one course in moral
life. These courses are designed to enable students to define their
own personal moral
values
and positions and to enhance their capacity for moral discernment,
criticism, and argument. Courses in this category include
Racism in America and Contemporary Work-Life Challenges.
