Students may qualify for membership in Omicron Delta Epsilon, the international
economics honor society. They may participate in numerous clubs related to economics
and business, including the Accounting Club, the Economics & Business Club, the Moravian
College Student Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), and the Amrhein
Investment Club, which manages a fund of over $1,000,000.
| SONIA N. AZIZ |

| INTERESTS:
Dr. Aziz's most recent research involves valuation of arsenic in drinking water in rural Bangladesh. Her scholarship primarily involves Environmental Economics with a focus on Health Economics. Dr. Aziz's research focuses on valuation of health and other non-market goods (environmental goods) by looking at human behavior in response to potential health and environmental risks, and the impact of that behavior on the outcomes experienced. She is particularly interested in risk mitigating actions taken by individuals in highly resource constrained economies and most of her field work is based in developing countries. Dr. Aziz has an interdisciplinary background in the natural as well as the social sciences and is part of the Environmental Studies program at Moravian College. Primary interests are in market research and direct marketing. Research interests
include adaptive marketing strategies, the psychology of the market, and all aspects
of marketing and decision sciences. Outside of teaching and marketing, Dr. Kaskowitz’s
interests include photography, scouting, and theatre. He also enjoys coaching and
playing with his children, Sara and Eric. |

She was a Fulbright Lecturer in 1991 and an advisor to the minister of the economy
in the Czech Republic in 1994-95. |

Professor Rossi is a frequent presenter at workshops and continuing professional
education programs. These speaking engagements are extensive and include presentations
on technical as well as tax and financial planning issues to a variety or professional
organizations. His research interests include financial accounting standards, taxation,
business valuation, not-for-profit organizations and financial planning. He is
the advisor for the Moravian College Student Chapter of the Institute of Management
Accountants (IMA). Professor Rossi also assists students in finding internship
and field study opportunities. |

Teaching interests include Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Auditing.
Research interests include judgment and decision making behavior in accounting
and auditing contexts and factors influencing auditor independence. Dr. Vinciguerra
worked as a finance manager in the pharmaceutical industry and as a certified public
accountant to clients in the financial services and healthcare industries. She
is active in professional associations, including the American Accounting Association
and the Institute of Management Accountants. |

| INTERESTS: Dr. von Allmen teaches courses in microeconomic theory, labor economics, industrial organization, the economics of sports, and the economics of health & health care. He has published in the areas of family labor supply, compensation schemes in professional sports, the influence of European players on competitive balance in the NHL, and post-secondary pedagogy. He is the co-author (with Michael Leeds) of The Economics of Sports, currently in its third edition; and Economics, a two semester principles of economics text (with Michael Leeds and Richard Schiming). Both texts are published by Addison Wesley. In addition, he has served as a consultant in the pharmaceutical industry. |
