APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID 2009-10

The following information is provided to assist you in applying for financial aid, including scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study, for the 2009-2010 academic year.

All new students will be considered for merit scholarships based on academic promise without regard to financial need. Merit scholarship decisions are based on information submitted to the Admissions Office.

To be considered for all other financial aid for 2009-2010, submit the following by the recommended date of February 14, 2009.

1. FAFSA – the Free Application for Federal Student Aid must be submitted to receive consideration for all federal and most state financial aid. The FAFSA is available January 1, 2009 and should be completed by February 14, 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter. It is recommended that you use FAFSA on the Web as the preferred method of submission, but paper applications may be requested by calling 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243).

2. Complete one of the following applications to apply for need-based aid from Moravian College.

a. MORAVIAN COLLEGE FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION: Complete this application to be considered for financial aid from the college. Mail to the address below or fax it to 610-861-1346. No fee required.

b. CSS PROFILE: Please note that there is a fee to submit this application, but it is offered as a convenient option for those applying to other schools that require the PROFILE

Financial aid applicants submitting the above items by the recommended date will be given priority in the awarding process. Any additional items needed by the Financial Aid Office will be specifically requested. Your prompt response will allow your financial aid to be processed as quickly as possible.

You may be requested to submit copies of your 2008 federal tax returns with supporting schedules and W-2 forms to the Moravian College Financial Aid Office. Residents of Pennsylvania who file a FAFSA by May 1st will receive consideration for a PA State Grant.

Residents of other states refer to the FAFSA application or contact your state’s Department of Higher Education for state grant information.
