Admission as a
High School Graduate

Students interested in Moravian College should submit an application for admission during the fall or winter of their senior year in high school but no later than March 1. A nonrefundable fee of $40 must accompany the paper application. Although an interview is not required, candidates should make every effort to visit the Moravian campus to discuss their enrollment plans with an admissions counselor. Such visits, including the interview, typically take place after April 1 of the student’s junior year and before February 15 of his or her senior year.

Since an audition is required for admission to the music major, students who are planning to major in music at Moravian should arrange an audition before February 15 of the student’s senior year of high school. To be eligible for the Music Department Hugo Music Merit Scholarships students must audition on January 15 or 16, 2010 (early decision students should audition on November 14, 2009). Another audition will be held on March 20, 2010 (students who audition on this date will not be eligible for the music scholarships listed above). Arrangements for auditions should be made directly with the College’s Music Department by calling (610) 861-1650.

Prospective art majors are required to submit a portfolio of their work along with their application for admission. (Portfolio Requirements)

Regular Decision

Applications for general admission in the fall term should be submitted no later than March 1. Beginning March 15, students will be notified of the Selection Committee’s decision. To accept an offer of admission, students must submit a non-refundable deposit of $400 by May 1, the Candidate’s Reply Date to which Moravian subscribes. Deposits received after May 1 cannot guarantee a place in the incoming class.

Early Action

Early Action is the application process by which students apply to Moravian College and receive a decision well in advance of the regular response date. Your completed application and all accompanying materials must be received by December 1. Notification of admission decisions will be sent on a rolling basis. If you plan to attend Moravian, you must submit a non-refundable $400 deposit by May 1.

Early Action is awarded to select students with strong high school records and high SAT or ACT scores. Students may apply to other institutions without restriction.

Applicants not admitted under Early Action will be considered under the provision of Regular Decision and notified in mid March.

Early Decision

Students who have demonstrated superior academic achievement through their junior year and for whom Moravian is the first choice may submit an application under the Early Decision plan. These applications must be received by February 1, and students will be notified of the College’s decision starting December 15. Students selected for admission to Moravian under this plan are obliged to enroll at Moravian and to withdraw all other college applications.

Moravian College will strive to make generous awards to students admitted under Early Decision, which in many cases fully meets the demonstrated financial need as calculated by the College.

Students who are not selected for admission under the Early Decision plan will automatically be reviewed for Regular Decision admission. Successful Early Decision candidates must confirm their decision to attend Moravian by submitting a nonrefundable deposit of $400 upon acceptance.
