Dear Men and Women of Moravian:
Dear Men and Women of Moravian:
Greetings to you from campus on a beautiful fall day! The foliage is brilliant against a rich blue sky and it is "a great day to be a Hound!"
In the pages that follow, you will find facts and figures, lists of names, and a variety of images that provideĀ information about Moravian. These points of information are like the bits and pieces of bright, colored glass that artists use to create the glowing images of a mosaic. Each data point, like each piece of glass, is important in and of itself, but it gains much greater significance and meaningĀ in relationship to all of the other points by creating shapes and forms of color and light.
Be sure to read through the information carefully. It represents the generosity, hard work, imagination, and hopefulness of the many people who make up our Moravian community.
Taken together as a whole, all of the points of information bespeak the vitality of our mission. We prepare students for lives of leadership and service by helping them, and by challenging them to build a foundation for their futures.
Our students are men and women of ability and promise, now. To be more fully prepared for what the future may hold for them, they will need to build a strong foundation for life, a solid Moravian foundation, constructed of the building blocks of intellectual growth, preparation for the world of work through hands-on learning, and personal development that leads to a deeper enjoyment of life. This is our purpose as a community of teaching, learning, research, and performance. This is the Moravian foundation our students have been building for themselves since 1742.
Thank you for the part you have played in strengthening Moravian as we continue to live out our mission so very well, even in the midst of challenging and uncertain times. Our students have benefited directly from your generosity and faithfulness and imagination!
Sincerely,

Christopher M. Thomforde
President
