Moravian College Affiliation

Moravian College, as an NCAA Division III institution and a member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference, places the highest priority on the overall quality of the educational and athletic experience.

Moravian began competition in the newly-formed Landmark Conference, which includes such schools as Drew University, Goucher College, Juniata College, Susquehanna University, The Catholic University of America, The University of Scranton and the United States Merchant Marine Academy, in all sports other than football and golf in 2007-08.

The Greyhound football squad became a member of the Centennial Conference with football-playing members Dickinson College, Franklin & Marshall College, Gettysburg College, Johns Hopkins University, Juniata College, McDaniel College, Muhlenberg College and Ursinus College back in 2007. Susquehanna University will be joining the Centennial Conference as an associate member starting in 2010.

Starting in 2009-10, Moravian will began an associate membership with the Empire 8 Conference in the sport of men's golf. Moravian and fellow Landmark Conference members The University of Scranton and Susquehanna University will join Empire 8 men’s golf members Elmira College, Nazareth College, St. John Fisher College, Stevens Institute of Technology, and Utica College.

During the 2008-09 school year, Moravian teams won six Landmark Conference championships with 14 teams reaching post-season play including NCAA Championship berths for the women’s soccer, women's basketball and softball teams and ECAC Championships for the men’s and women's outdoor track & field teams. In addition, ten student-athletes earned All-America status, including one ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American and one national champion in track & field.

Moravian College sponsors 20 intercollegiate athletics programs. Men’s teams compete at the varsity level in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and track and field (indoor and outdoor). Women’s teams compete in basketball, cross country, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field (indoor and outdoor), and volleyball.

Moravian College is part of the NCAA's CHAMPS/Life Skills Program. The program was created to support the student development initiatives and to enhance the quality of the student-athlete experience within the college setting.
