Moravian College supports club
sports because they give students the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities
in competitive environments. Over the years Moravian has offered a number of club sports
teams including men's ice hockey, men's volleyball, women's golf, wrestling, equestrian,
soccer, and lacrosse. The club sports are sponsored by Moravian's Student Government Association
and organized by students with the assistance of a faculty advisor. Moravian also has a
cheerleading squad for the football and men's and women's basketball seasons. For more
information, visit the Student
Organizations & Clubs webpage under Moravian College Student Life, or following
the links below to the club sport's web page.

Moravian College's Club Ice Hockey Team is a Club 3 level hockey program that provides Moravian students who have a strong desire to play very competitive club 3 hockey with the opportunity to compete against other Eastern and Central PA Cub 3 teams. Moravian's Ice Hockey Club also provides Moravian's fans with another venue to support and enjoy one Moravian College's many collegiate sports activities.
Moravian College's Club Ice Hockey Team competes in the Mid Atlantic Invitational Collegiate Hockey League (MICHL), in addition to playing an independent, non MICHL schedule. The MICHL currently has six teams (Moravian, DeSales U., Susquehanna U., Bloomsburg U., Penn State Berks B & Northampton) and two to four new teams are expected to join. Two thirds of our approximately 15 games per year schedule are played at a local rink, offering players ample time to fully enjoy a quality hockey experience while still having plenty of time for study and a balanced social life. Practices are held evenings after classes, usually twice weekly from Mid October through February, at a rink five minutes from campus. At Moravian you will be in shape to play but will not spend all the school week at a practice rink and all weekend on a bus.
Moravian's Club Ice Hockey team is student run. Most of the funding for the Club's activities comes from the generous support of Moravian College's United Student Government. The Club is coached and advised by Tom Egan, an Advanced Level USA Hockey certified coach who is an active hockey player and whose hockey experience includes playing NCAA Div 1 college hockey in the early 1960s. Dr. Egan is also a full time Faculty/Administrator in Moravian's Comenius Center for Continuing, Graduate and Professional Studies. He coaches the Club's players with an "academics first, hockey second" value system.
Prospective students seeking more information about the Ice Hockey Club should contact coach Tom Egan at metpe01@moravian.edu or the College's Admissions Office.
