2003 Review

The 2003 Moravian College men’s cross country team finished the season with a sixth place finish at the MAC Championships and a 14th place showing at the Mideast Regional under the direction of head coach Mark Will-Weber.

Sophomore Greg Rarick (Drums, PA/Hazleton HS) led the Greyhounds at the MAC Championships and at the Regionals. Rarick earned Second Team All-MAC honors with an 18th place finished in the MAC Championships while also earning All-Region honors with a 35th place finish at the Regional meet. Junior Patrick Grogan (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame HS) finished 21st in the MAC Championships and 49th in the Regional meet. Senior Sean McDonnell (Scranton, PA/Scranton Prep HS) finished 27th at the conference meet and 68th in the regional.

Senior Joe Grady (Nanticoke, PA/Nanticoke HS) placed 100th in the regional and 30th at the conference meet. Sophomore William Shimer (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty HS) placed 48th at the conference meet and 111th in the regional. Freshman Jared Casciole (Easton, PA/Notre Dame HS) placed 170th at the regional meet and 44th in the MAC Championships.

Other competitors for the Greyhounds in the MAC Championship meet included senior Marty Miller (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty HS) finishing in 69th place, junior Michael Caffrey (Easton, PA/Easton HS) at 78th, freshman Ryan Brodhead (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom HS) in 99th place, junior Anthony Bisti (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Heights HS) at 101st place and sophomore Russell Zaleski (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough HS) finishing in 105th place.

Moravian had three student-athletes named to the 2003 Middle Atlantic Corporation Fall All-Academic Team including Rarick, Shimer and Bisti.
