At NCAA Division III Mideast Regional – 16th of 32

Senior Tim Pfluger placed 35th at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional to lead the Greyhounds to a 16th place finish of 32 schools. Pfluger, who earned All-Mideast Region Honors with the top 35 finish, completed the 8,000-meter race in 27:12.40. There were 229 runners in the race. Junior Damon Rutherford crossed the finish line second for Moravian at 50th in 27:29.20. Freshman George Wacker earned Freshman All-Mideast Region Honors as one of the top 35 freshman in the race. Wacker placed 75th overall in a time of 27:56.00. Sophomore Tim McDade was 137th in 29:15.70 while freshman Justin Arnold was 157th in 29:43.40. Rounding out the Greyhound runners were senior Michael Keysock in 167th with a time of 20:09.60 and sophomore Chris DeWalt at 190th in 30:57.90.

At MAC Championships – 4th of 13

The Greyhounds placed fourth of 13 teams at the 1999 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships, ending a string of six straight MAC titles. Senior Tim Pfluger led the Greyhound team and earned All-Conference Honors with a seventh place finish in a time of 27:31.94 over the 8,000-meter course. Junior Damon Rutherford was the second Greyhound to cross the line, placing 20th of 119 runners in a time of 28:25.27. Rounding out the top five for the Greyhounds were sophomore Tim McDade in 27th at 28:42.68, freshman George Wacker at 35th in a time of 28:59.16 and sophomore Chris DeWalt in 56th at 29:55.95. Also competing for the Greyhounds Saturday were senior Michael Keysock in 58th at 29:56.67, freshman Geoffrey Aravanis at 73rd in 30:51.21, freshman Justin Arnold in 77th at 31:10.87, sophomore Josh Heebner at 102nd in 32:55.45 and freshman Matt Plewinski in 116th at 37:36.01.

At Reif Memorial Run at Cornell University – 3rd of 5 teams

The Greyhounds placed third of five teams at the Reif Memorial Run at Cornell University behind the first place finish of senior Tim Pfluger. Pfluger completed the 5,000-meter course, 3,000-meters less than usual, in a time of 16:34. Junior Damon Rutherford also had a top ten finish with an eighth place showing in 17:10. Freshman George Wacker placed 15th overall at 17:33 while sophomore Tim McDade was 21st in 18:01. Sophomore Chris DeWalt rounded out Moravian’s top five with a 26th place finish in a time of 18:14. Senior Michael Keysock was 34th in 18:57 while freshman Justin Arnold placed 36th at 19:05. Rounding out the Greyhound runners were sophomore Josh Heebner in 37th with a time of 20:02 and freshman Matt Plewinski at 42nd in 21:29.

At Allentown Invitational – 10th of 29

Behind a sixth place finish from senior Tim Pfluger, the Greyhounds placed tenth of 29 schools at the Allentown Invitational with a team score of 270. Pfluger ran the 8,000-meter course in 26:56.28. Moravian had six other runners among the 208 competitors in the race lead by junior Damon Rutherford in 30th at 27:34.23. Freshman George Wacker placed 45th in 28:03.51 while sophomore Tim McDade was 74th in 28:50.36. Senior Michael Keysock placed 122nd in 29:50.39 and sophomore Chris DeWalt was four places behind him in 126th at 30:00.50. Freshman George Aravanis rounded out the Greyhound squad with a 142nd place showing in 20:48.67.

At Dickinson College Invitational – 11th of 28

Moravian team placed 11th of 28 teams at the Dickinson College Invitational behind a 14th place finish by senior Tim Pfluger. Pfluger finished the 8,000-meter course in a time of 26:49.98. Moravian had five other runners among the 215 in the field. Junior Damon Rutherford placed 74th in 28:23.60 while sophomore Tim McDade was 85th with a time of 28:41.89. Freshman George Wacker finished 98th in 28:56.14. Sophomore Chris DeWalt was 119th in 29:20.38 while senior Michael Keysock finished 137th with a time of 30:12.57.

At Frostburg State (MD) University Invitational – 12th of 23 teams

The Greyhounds placed 12th of 23 schools at the Frostburg State Invitational behind the fifth place finish of senior Tim Pfluger. Pfluger completed the 8,000-meter race in a time of 26:18.30. Moravian’s other top five runners in the field of 217 student-athletes included freshman George Wacker in 58th with a time of 28:03.10, junior Damon Rutherford at 70th in 28:20.00, sophomore Tim McDade at 110th with a time of 29:15.00 and senior Michael Keysock in 141st at 20:08.60.

At Muhlenberg College Invitational – 1st of 6

Senior Tim Pfluger placed first over the 8,000-meter course with a time of 27:14.6 to lead the Greyhounds to a first place team finish at the Muhlenberg College Invitational. Five other Greyhounds placed in the top 20 led by freshman George Wacker in fifth with a time of 27:56.3 and junior Damon Rutherford at sixth in 27:58.1. Sophomore Tim McDade was 12th with a time of 28:59.4, sophomore Chris DeWalt was 13th in 29:28.1 and senior Michael Keysock was 17th in 29:57.6.

At Kutztown – 5th of 9

The Greyhounds opened the 1999 season, placing 5th of 9 teams at the Kutztown University Maroon & Gold Invitational. Moravian was second among NCAA Division III teams at the meet. Junior Damon Rutherford placed 15th to lead the Greyhounds over the 5 mile course.
