Vs. King's College – Won 1-0

Junior midfielder Elissa Gerstel scored with 25 minutes left in the first half to give the Moravian College field hockey team a 1-0 lead and sophomore goalie Mary Peterson and the rest of the Greyhound defense made it stand up as the Greyhounds shutout King’s College, 1-0, in Middle Atlantic Conference action to end the 2000 season.  Moravian completes the season at 5-14.  Gerstel knocked home a pass from senior forward Brooke Dancho with 24:59 left in the first half for her 11th goal of the season.  Peterson needed to make just one save in the match as the Greyhounds out shot the Lady Monarchs 15-5.

Vs. Eastern College – Lost 4-1

Senior attack Chelsea Roberts scored an unassisted second half goal but it wasn't enough as the Greyhounds fell to Eastern College, 4-1.  Junior goalie Kristie Cupples made four saves in the first half while sophomore keeper Mary Peterson have three saves in the second half.

At Widener University – Lost 2-0

The Greyhounds dropped their final Commonwealth Conference match of the season with a 2-0 loss at Widener University.  Junior keeper Kristie Cupples made five saves in 53 minutes of action while sophomore goalie Mary Peterson had two saves in 17 minutes.

Vs. Susquehanna University – Lost 5-0

Moravian fell to Susquehanna University, 5-0, in Commonwealth Conference action.  Sophomore goalie Mary Peterson made five saves in the match for the Greyhounds, who were out shot 11-4. 

At Wilkes University – Won 2-1

Junior attack Suzy Wargo and junior midfielder Elissa Gerstel scored in a 1:05 span of the first half to give the Greyhounds a 2-0 lead in a 2-1 victory over Wilkes University in Middle Atlantic Conference action.  Wargo scored with 22:12 remaining in the first half off a pass from senior attack Brooke Dancho.  Gerstel tallied her goal with 21:01 left in the first stanza on an assist from senior attack Chelsea Roberts.  Sophomore goalie Mary Peterson made her first start of the season and picked up her first collegiate win while making seven saves in the contest.

At Gwynedd Mercy College – Lost 2-0

Junior goalie Kristie Cupples had eight saves in 50 minutes and sophomore keeper Mary Peterson made one save but it wasn't enough as the Greyhounds fell to Gwynedd Mercy College, 2-0.

At Montclair State (NJ) University – Lost 4-1

Junior forward Suzy Wargo scored a second half goal but the Greyhounds fell to Montclair State University, 4-1, in non-conference action.  Junior goalie Kristie Cupples had 13 saves in the first half while sophomore keeper Mary Peterson made four saves in the second half.

At Elizabethtown College – Lost 4-1

Junior midfielder Elissa Gerstel scored a first half goal to tie the match but the Greyhounds ended up losing to nationally ranked Elizabethtown College, 4-1, in Commonwealth Conference action.  Senior forward Chelsea Roberts assisted on Gerstel's ninth goal of the season while junior goalie Kristie Cupples had 17 saves in the match.

At Marywood University – Lost 3-2

Junior midfielder Suzy Wargo scored off a pass from freshman midfielder Kate Hunter with 11:10 to play in the first half and junior forward Elissa Gerstel gave the Greyhounds the lead in the match with five and a half minutes remaining until the half on a pass from senior forward Brooke Dancho but Moravian couldn't hold a 2-1 lead in a 3-2 loss at Marywood University in non-conference action.  Junior goalie Kristie Cupples had two saves in the match.

At Lebanon Valley College – Lost 6-0

The Greyhounds were shutout 6-0 by the number one team in the country, Lebanon Valley College, in Commonwealth Conference action.  Junior goalie Kristie Cupples had nine saves in one half while sophomore Mary Peterson made two saves in the second half.

At Albright College – Lost 2-1 in overtime

Senior forward Brooke Dancho scored with 3:07 remaining in regulation off a pass from junior midfielder Elissa Gerstel to tie the match but Moravian allowed a overtime goal in a 2-1 loss to Albright College in Commonwealth Conference action.   Junior goalie Kristie Cupples had 25 saves for the Greyhounds.  Moravian was outshot 27-9 in the match.

Vs. King's College – Postponed until Oct. 20th

The Greyhounds match with King's College was postponed until Friday, October 20th due to heavy rain in the Lehigh Valley.

Vs. Juniata College – Lost 3-0

The Greyhounds were shutout for the third straight match, falling to Juniata College 3-0 in Commonwealth Conference action.  The match was scoreless at the half.  Junior goalie Kristie Cupples made five saves in the contest that saw Moravian own a 11-10 advantage in shots.

At William Paterson (NJ) University – Lost 4-0

For the second straight match, the Greyhounds were shutout by a NCAA Division III power, falling to William Paterson University, 4-0.  Junior goalie Kristie Cupples had five saves for Moravian in the loss.

Vs. University of Scranton – Lost 2-0

For the first time this season, the Greyhounds were shutout, ending the five match scoring streak of junior midfielder Elissa Gerstel.  Junior goalie Kristie Cupples had four saves in the loss.

Vs. Messiah College – Lost 3-1

Junior midfielder Elissa Gerstel scored a first half goal to make the halftime score 2-1 in favor of Messiah College, but the Falcons would be the only team to score in the second half in a 3-1 win.  Moravian goalie Kristie Cupples made six saves as the Greyhounds had their three-match winning streak snapped with the loss.

At Cedar Crest College – Won 5-2

Junior midfielder Elissa Gerstel scored a pair of goals to lift Moravian to a 5-2 win over Cedar Crest College in non-conference action.  Gerstel’s two goals now give her six on the season and she has accounted of six of Moravian’s ten goals this fall. Senior attack Brooke Dancho had a goal and an assist in the match while freshman attack Rachel Crocker and senior attack Chelsea Roberts each had one goal.   Junior goalie Kristie Cupples had 11 saves in the match.

Vs. Bryn Mawr College – Won 2-0

Junior midfielder Elissa Gerstel scored a pair of first half goals to lift the Greyhounds to a 2-0 non-conference win over Bryn Mawr College.  Senior forward Brooke Dancho had an assist on Gerstel's second goal.  Moravian out shot Bryn Mawr 19-2 in the match.  Junior goalie Kristie Cupples and sophomore goalie Mary Peterson each played one half in the match and neither player had to make a save.

Vs. Haverford College – Won 2-1 in overtime

Junior Elissa Gerstel scored an unassisted breakaway goal with 10:08 remaining in the first overtime to give the Greyhounds their first win of the season, a 2-1 triumph over Haverford College.  Moravian had taken a 1-0 lead as time expired in the first half when junior Suzy Wargo scored on a penalty corner.  Freshman Rachel Crocker had the assist on the goal.  Junior goalie Kristie Cupples picked up her first collegiate victory and she had five saves in the match.

Vs. Muhlenberg College – Lost 3-1

The Greyhounds lost a 3-1 match to rival Muhlenberg College to open the 2000 season.  Junior Elissa Gerstel scored the first goal of the match six and a half minutes into the contest off a pass from senior Brooke Dancho.  Junior goalie Kristie Cupples had four saves in 47 minutes while sophomore goalie Mary Peterson made one save in 13 minutes.
