The Greyhounds finished off the 2004 season by defeating Stevens Institute of Technology, 4-0, in a non-conference match to tie the Moravian record for victories in a season with ten. The Greyhounds complete the year with a 10-6 mark, equaling the win totals from the 1988, 1989, 1992 and 1996 seasons. The match with the Ducks was scoreless at halftime, however, the Greyhounds didn't take long in the second half to get the scoring started. Freshman midfielder Jayme Baker scored her first career goal off an assist from senior forward Kelly Boone just 1:32 into the second half, giving the Greyhounds all the offense they would need. Freshman forward Savannah Bayer netted an unassisted goal, ninth of the season in the 53rd minute. Boone then scored the first of two goals in the 56th minute off a pass from junior forward Stacee Cupples. The assist was Cupples' school-record 11th assist of the year. Boone scored her fourth goal of the season in the 64th minute off an assist from Baker. Moravian out shot the Ducks 24-2 with sophomore goalie Amanda Gaun making one save for her second shutout of the season. The Greyhounds also had a 10-1 edge in penalty corners.

Moravian dropped its final Commonwealth Conference match of the season, falling to Widener University 6-2 in Chester, while the victory clinched a playoff berth for the Pioneers. The Greyhounds fell behind 5-0 in the first half. Moravian would finally score in the 41st minute when senior forward Stacee Cupples found the back of the net on an unassisted goal, her 15th goal of the season. Cupples added another goal in the 45th minute off an assist from freshman forward Savannah Bayer. Widener had a 25-10 advantage in shots while both teams had six penalty corners. Sophomore goalie Amanda Gaun made six saves in the contest.

Vs. Elizabethtown College – Won 4-1       Box Score

The Greyhounds won their second Commonwealth Conference match of the season in their final home game, defeating Elizabethtown College, 4-1. The win lifted the Greyhounds to 9-7 on the season, the most wins since a 10-6 slate back in 1996. Moravian jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute on a goal by senior forward Kelly Boone, assisted by sophomore forward Elyse Jurgen. The goal was Boone's second of the year. Jurgen would net the game winner in the seventh minute off an assist by junior forward Stacee Cupples. Jurgen added another goal, her sixth of the season, off a pass from Cupples in the 16th minute before Elizabethtown scored its only goal of the contest in the 26th minute. Freshman forward Savannah Bayer finished off the scoring with an unassisted goal, her eighth of the year, in the 51st minute for the Greyhounds. Elizabethtown had a 14-11 advantage in shots. The Greyhounds snapped a four-match losing streak with a 4-3 victory at DeSales University in non-conference action. Moravian fell behind 1-0 on the first of three goals by Gina Malatesta before junior forward Stacee Cupples found the back of the cage off assists from sophomore forward Alyse Moyer and sophomore midfielder Jenna Abramson in the 23rd minute to tie the match. Cupples netted her second goal of the game in the 29th minute, her 12th goal of the season. However, DeSales would tie the match just before halftime. Senior forward Kelly Boone put Moravian ahead for good in the 46th minute when she scored he first goal of the season off a pass from freshman forward Savannah Bayer. Cupples would complete her first career hat trick just 1:26 later for what would be the winning goal. DeSales scored again 59 seconds after Cupples 13th goal of the season but the Greyhounds made the score stand up at 4-3 for the team's eighth win of the season, the most for Moravian since an 8-9- record in 1997. Moravian suffered a 2-1, double-overtime loss to nationally-ranked Juniata College in Commonwealth Conference action at Betty Prince Field. The match was the first on Betty Prince field since the field had been flooded on September 18th. The loss was also the first for Moravian in overtime this season after three consecutive overtime victories. Juniata, ranked ninth in the nation this week, jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal by freshman Kim Wagner assisted by junior Elise Zimmerman. Moravian tied the match with just 58 seconds remaining in the second half when freshman forward Savannah Bayer found the back of the cage for her seventh goal of the season off an assist by junior forward Stacee Cupples. Wagner would net the winning goal two and a half minutes into the second overtime off a pass from freshman Meredith Low. Juniata had a 30-11 advantage in shots and an 11-9 edge in penalty corners. The Flying Dutchmen, ranked 14th in the nation this week, out shot the Greyhounds 21-2 and have a 20-3 advantage in penalty corners. Missy Shultz and Alyssa Stine each had two goals for Lebanon Valley while Mimi Sullican added a goal and an assist and Erin Behney had a goal. Claire Behney and Mallary Anderson also had assists for the Flying Dutchmen. Moravian sophomore Amanda Gaun had six saves while Greyhound junior defender Jill Brinckman added one defensive save. Moravian's seven wins this fall are the most since a 7-11 record in 1998. The Greyhounds last winning season was a 10-6 mark in 1996. The Greyhounds took a 1-0 lead just 1:38 into the match when freshman forward Savannah Bayer found the back of the cage for her sixth goal of the season off a pass from sophomore midfielder Rachel Griffith. Junior forward Stacee Cupples scored what was eventually the game-winning goal in the 41st minute on an unassisted goal, her ninth of the season. The Crimson Eagles scored their only goal in the 65th minute when sophomore Brittany Sparling netted an unassisted goal. Moravian earned its third straight victory and third overtime win of the 2004 season with a 3-2 overtime triumph at the University of Scranton in non-conference action. The Greyhounds are now 6-2 on the season, the most victories by a Moravian team since an 7-11 record in 1998. The match was originally scheduled to be played in Bethlehem, however, damage from Hurricane Ivan on September 18th and heavy rain on Tuesday forced the game to be played on Scranton's Fitzpatrick Field, which is an artificial surface. After a scoreless first half, Moravian scored the first goal in the 39th minute when freshman midfielder Savannah Bayer found the back of the net on a 12-yard blast off a pass from sophomore midfielder Rachel Griffith. The Royals tied the match in the 42nd minute on a goal by Jennifer Bostwick that was set up on a crossing pass from Kristy McNevin. Moravian junior forward Stacee Cupples gave the Greyhounds the lead back in the 46th minute when she scored on a breakaway from midfield. Scranton would tie the contest again in the 62nd minute when Jenna Gordish scored on a penalty stroke. Bayer would tally the winning goal, her fifth goal of the season, in the 75th minute off a pass from Cupples in a two-on-one with the Scranton goalie. Scranton had a 29-9 advantage in shots, and the Royals also had a 16-5 edge in penalty corners. The Greyhounds, who were 4-14 in both 2002 and 2003, are now 4-2 on the year. The Aggies jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute when senior forward Kristin Cottman found the back of the cage off a pass from senior midfielder Kelly Geissler. The Greyhounds responded in the 13th minute on a goal by sophomore forward Elyse Jurgen that was assisted by junior forward Stacee Cupples. Moravian took a 2-1 lead in the 22nd minute when freshman midfielder Savannah Bayer scored off a pass from sophomore midfielder Rachel Griffith. The goal was Bayer's third of the season. Delaware Valley tied the match in the 45th minute when Cottman scored on an unassisted goal to tie the Aggie school record of 75 points in a career set by Diane Bradley in 1983. Cottman has 33 goals and nine assists in her career. Moravian remained undefeated on the season with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory versus Gwynedd-Mercy College in non-conference action at Betty Prince Field. The win gives the Greyhounds their best start since a 2-0 record in 1997. The Griffins jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute when Ashley Blackwell scored on a penalty corner started by Katie Loftus. Moravian would tie the match in the 48th minute on an unassisted goal by junior forward Stacee Cupples, who knocked in a loose ball from three yards out. Cupples would net the game winning goal for the Greyhounds in the 59th minute when she tapped in a loose ball off a scramble in front of the net.
