1999 Review

The Greyhound football squad posted a disappointing 2-8 record this season for the first back-to-back losing seasons since 1981-82. However, the losing record was not indicative of Moravian 's season. The Greyhounds, which finished the 1999 season with 47 freshmen and just 11 seniors among the 86 players on the squad, dropped one game by two points, a pair of games by three points and a fourth game in overtime. Both of Moravian 's wins the season came in overtime including a 38-37 thriller against Juniata College, the fourth straight year Moravian and Juniata have needed overtime to determine a winner.

Head coach Scot Dapp has an 82-50-1 record in 13 years at Moravian and has a lot to look forward to the possibility of 75 players returning for the first season in the new millennium. However, Dapp will need to find replacements for a three-year starter at quarterback and six starters on defense.

Senior quarterback Rob Petrosky (North Catasauqua/Catasauqua HS)completed his career at Moravian this fall as one of the top three quarterbacks in the school 's history. He tied the school record for touchdowns in a career with his 48th in the season ending loss to Muhlenberg. During the year, Petrosky completed 119 of 263 passes for 1,530 yards with 16 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
