At 2000 MAC Championships at Shawnee Country Club

For the second straight year, the Greyhounds placed fourth of 14 schools at the 2000 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships played at the Shawnee Country Club in the Poconos. Moravian had a team score of 1029 after a second day total of 521 and a first day of 508. Freshman Sean Alden led the Greyhounds with a 54-hole total of 250, which was tied for 15th among the 70 golfers in the tournament. Freshman Jason Pozniak placed 32nd with a score of 261 while senior Geoff Hoof tied for 34th with a total of 264. Sophomore Ricky Gower, who was seventh a year ago, tied for 38th with a 265 while freshman Brian Costa rounded out the Greyhound squad with a 269, which tied him for 46th.

At 2000 MAC Championships at Shawnee Country Club

The Greyhounds are in fifth place of 14 schools after the first 27 holes of the 54-hole 2000 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships at Shawnee Country Club. Freshman Sean Alden leads Moravian with a total of 123, which is tied for 17th among the 70 golfers. Freshman Brian Costa shot a 127 while freshman Jason Pozniak had a total of 129. Sophomore Ricky Gower posted a 130 on the first day of the competition while senior Geoff Hood had a 137.

Lehigh Valley Invitational – 3rd of 4

Freshman Charles Tice tied for fifth with a round 80 at Saucon Valley Country Club’s par 72 Weyhill Course to led the Greyhounds to a five-man total of 428 and a third place finish in the Lehigh Valley Invitational. Freshman Jason Pozniak had an 84 while sophomore Ricky Gower posted an 18-hole total of 85. Freshmen Sean Alden and Brian Costa rounded out the Greyhound scorers with rounds of 88 and 91. Freshman Mike Schlamp had a 94 while senior Geoff Hood rounded out the Greyhound squad with a round of 95.

At Ursinus College – Canceled

The Greyhounds’ outing at Ursinus College with Lebanon Valley College, Albright College and Allentown College was canceled due to rain and it will not be rescheduled this season.

Moravian College Spring Tournament – 10th of 18 schools

The Greyhounds placed 10th of 18 school their own Moravian Spring Tournament with a team score of 333. Sophomore Ricky Gower tied for 18th with a round of 81 at the par-71 Southmoore Golf Course to lead the ‘Hounds. Freshman Jason Pozniak had an 18-hole total of 82 while freshman Sean Alden fired an 83. Freshman Brian Costa shot an 87 while senior Geoff Hood rounded out the Greyhounds squad with a 93. At Delaware Valley College with University of Scranton – Won 328-344-340

Behind sophomore Ricky Gower’s round of 78, the Greyhounds picked up a pair of victories at the Five Ponds Golf Club in a tri-match with Delaware Valley College and the University of Scranton. Freshman Mike Schlamp fired a round out 81 while senior Geoff Hood had an 18-hole total of 84. Freshmen Anthony Gill and Charles Tice rounded out the Greyhound squad with scored of 85 and 86 respectively.

At FDU-Madison – Canceled

The Greyhounds outing at FDU-Madison was canceled due to the course being to wet for play.

At Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational – Canceled

Day two of the 2nd Annual Glenmaura National Collegaite Invitational was canceled due to snow on the course.

Day one of the 2nd Annual Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational was canceled with several teams, including the Greyhounds, still on the course when it started raining.

At 2000 Blue Jay Classic hosted by Elizabethtown – 12th of 21

Led by a round of 82 from freshman Sean Alden, the Greyhounds placed 12thof 21 schools at the 2000 Blue Jay Classic hosted by Elizabethtown College at the Country Club of Hersey. Alden was tied for 16th while freshman Jason Pozniak fired a round of 84 to tie for 23rd. Rounding out the Greyhound squad were sophomore Ricky Gower with a 90, freshman Anthony Gill with an 18-hole total of 95 and freshman Charles Tice with a 101.

At Lafayette College with LaSalle University & Franklin & Marshall College – 3rd of 4

The Greyhounds opened their 2000 season with a score of 350 at the Northampton Country Club in a quad match hosted by Lafayette College. Lafayette had a score of 241 while Franklin & Marshall College posted a 348. Moravian defeated LaSalle University, which had a score of 359. Freshman Charles Tice paced the Greyhounds with a round of 84 while fellow freshman Jason Pozniak fired an 87. Sophomore Ricky Gower had an 18-hole total of 88 while freshmen Brian Coasta with a 91 and Sean Alden with a 93 rounded out the squad.

At Montclair State with FDU-Madison – Canceled

The Greyhounds spring season opening round at Montclair State University in New Jersey was canceled due to the course being closed.

At Muhlenberg College Golf Tournament – 8th of 15

Charles Tice led the Greyhounds to an eighth place finish at the Muhlenberg College Golf Tournament with a ninth place round of 80 to close the fall golf season for Moravian. Sean Alden placed 27th with a score of 87 while Geoff Hood was one stroke back, tied for 35th with an 88. Ricky Gower was tied for 51st with a 92 and Mike Quirk rounded out the scorers for Moravian with a round of 93 that tied him for 54th.

At Elizabethtown College Blue Jay Classic – 18th of 19

Mike Schlamp paced the Greyhounds with a round of 86 at the Elizabethtown College Blue Jay Classic. Mike Quirk had a round of 90 while Ricky Gower posted a 18-hole score of 93. Tony Gill and Jason Pozniak each fired rounds of 95 for Moravian.

At Moravian Fall Invitational – 8th & 9th of 15

The Greyhound "B" team placed eighth and the "A" team was ninth in the annual Moravian College Fall Golf Invitational at Southmoore Golf Course. Tony Gill paced the Greyhounds with a fifth place 79 while Ricky Gower was tied for 16th with an 82. Mike Schlamp fired a round of 83 to tie for 20th while Charles Tice had an 86. Sean Alden and Brian Costa each had scores of 87 while Brian Fry had a round of 88. Jason Pozniak shot a 90 while Geoff Hood and Karl Searing rounded out the Greyhound squad with rounds of 94 and 95.
