of goals for Moravian while freshman attack Keith Danner and freshman
midfielder Bradley McVaugh each had a goal and an assist. Junior midfielder

back of the cage once while junior midfielder Ken Blom had one assist.
Hirsch led the Greyhounds with six ground balls, and he won ten of 20

to 8-0 before the Crusaders scored, and Moravian led 10-1 after three

into the intermission with a 4-1 lead. Moravian added two more goals
in the third quarter and led 6-2 after 45 minutes. The Greyhounds had

season and snapped an eight-match losing streak with a 6-5 victory at
King's College. The Monarchs had a 1-0 lead at the end of the first
quarter and a 3-1 lead at the intermission. King's would still hold
a 4-3 lead after three quarters but the Greyhounds netted three goals
in the final 15 minutes while holding the Monarchs to one for the victory.
Junior midfielder TJ Hirsch led the Greyhounds with three goals while
freshmen attacks Christopher Danni and Jason Tosches and freshman midfielder
Kyle Gardner each scored once. Danni netted the game-winning goal for
Moravian while Tosches had a pair of assists as did junior midfielder
Ken Blom. Hirsch won seven of ten face-offs in the match while sophomore
defenders David Poppe and Adam Melroy and sophomore defender Steven
Carroll each had four ground balls. Freshman goalie Benjamin Larson
earned his first career victory in the cage for the Greyhounds, making
eight saves and a team high six ground balls. Gary Morgan had a paor
of goals for King's while Paul Moran had a goal and an assist. Tim Cassi

with less than 30 seconds remaining in the half to head to the intermission
with a 5-2 lead. Both teams scored two goals in the third quarter and
three goals in the fourth quarter. Moravian finished the game with a
35-32 edge in shots and a 34-28 advantage in ground balls while Scranton
won 15 of 22 face-offs. Junior midfielder Ken Blom led the Greyhounds

Moravian jumped out to a 1-0 lead less than a minute into the match
when junior midfielder Ken Blom scored; However, Muhlenberg would score
twice to end the first quarter with a 2-1 lead. The Greyhounds would
tally the first two goals of the second quarter to retake the lead at
3-2 on goals by Blom and freshman attack Jason Tosches. The Mules would
tie the match up before halftime. In the second half, Muhlenberg scored
six unanswered goals for the victory. Muhlenberg finished the game with
a 39-23 advantage in shots, a 42-26 edge in ground balls and won ten
of 15 face-offs. For the Greyhounds, Blom had two goals while Tosches
had one goal. Junior midfielder TJ Hirsch had an assist for Moravian

sophomore midfielder Justin Thompson and freshman attack Greg Taylor
each scored two goals for the Wolverines while Dietrich had one assist
and won 12 of 26 face-offs. Sophomore midfielder Kenny Glaveskas had
a goal and an assist while freshman attack Matt Sewell found the back
of the cage once for the Wolverines. Freshman defender Joe Monroe led
Wesley with eight ground balls while freshman defender Kirk Waldie scooped
up six ground balls. Senior goalie Anthony Edwards played the first
half of the match for the Wolverines with four saves while sophomore
keeper Jim McCleaft had six saves in the second half.

Vs. Vassar College at Lehigh University's
Ulrich Turf Field - Won 6-2 Boxscore
Moravian began the 2006 season with a 6-2 non-conference victory over
Vassar College in a match played at Robert Ulrich Turf Field on the
Goodman Campus of Lehigh University due to construction at Rocco Calvo
Field. This is the second time in the three years of men's lacrosse
at Moravian that the Greyhounds have won their season opening match
and the earliest the team has played in the month of February. Moravian
took a 1-0 lead on a goal by junior midfielder Ken Blom. Vassar would
tie the match; however, the Greyhounds scored the final three goals
of the first half for a 4-1 halftime lead. Junior attack Nick Cacciutti
led Moravian with three goals while junior attack Daniel Larson had
a goal and an assist. Freshman attack Jason Tosches also found the back
of the cage with his first collegiate goal for the Greyhounds while
junior midfielder TJ Hirsch had an assist to go with five ground balls
and six of seven face-off wins. Moravian sophomore midfielder Aaron
Satterfield also added an assist in the victory. Greyhound sophomore
goalie Peter Coutros made two saves while playing the first half of
the match while freshman keeper Benjamin Larson had seven saves in the
second half. Moravian had a 29-20 advantage in shots, a 35-16 edge in
ground balls and won nine of 12 face-offs. For Vassar, sophomore attack
Tristan Jemiolo had a goal and an assist while sophomore attack Eric
Schrager added a goal and junior midfielder Steven Cataldo had an assist.
Junior goalie Will Widen made seven saves for the Brewers.
