Vs.. The Catholic University of America – Lost 1-0 - Box Score

             Freshman forward Ian Smith scored the only goal of the match to lift The Catholic University of America men’s soccer team to a 1-0 Landmark Conference victory over host Moravian College Saturday afternoon on the HUB Quad as the Cardinals clinched a berth in the 2010 Landmark Conference Tournament with the win. The Greyhounds have now completed their 2010 season.
            Smith netted his team-leading ninth goal of the season in the 60th minute off of a pass from senior midfielder Kevin Duffy.
            The Cardinals had an 11-2 advantage in shots and a 13-3 edge in corner kicks in the match.  Catholic senior goalie Quinn Daly had two saves in his third shutout of the season while senior goalie Tim Dollarton, pictured, made two saves in his final collegiate match for Moravian.  The Greyhounds also had one team save.

At Arcadia University – Lost 4-1 - Box Score

             The Moravian College men’s soccer team dropped its final non-conference match of the 2010 season, falling to Arcadia University, 4-1, Wednesday afternoon with all five goals scored in the second half.
            The Knights opened the scoring in the 55th minute when Nick Morris netted an unassisted goal.  Joe Clementi made it 2-0 in the 65th minute off of a pass from Jeff McDonald, and then Clementi set up a goal by Ethan Armstrong just 30 seconds later.  Erik Flood scored Arcadia’s final goal in the 82nd minute with an assist from Christopher Macchi.
            Moravian would get on the scoreboard in the 86th minute on the first collegiate goal by senior forward Chris Walsh, pictured at right, on a shot from ten yards.
            The Knights had a 15-3 advantage in shots including a 9-1 edge in the second half, and Arcadia also had a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.  Moravian senior goalie Tim Dollarton recorded three saves in the match while Ryan Lantzy had one save in 78 minutes of action for Arcadia.  Phil McCarthy had one save in seven minutes of action while Jake Smith played the final five minutes of the match.

             The Susquehanna University men’s soccer team clinched a berth in the 2010 Landmark Conference Tournament with a 1-0 victory over host Moravian College Saturday afternoon on the HUB Quad.
            Junior forward Joey Stellato scored the only goal of the match in the tenth minute when he one-timed a crossing pass from senior forward Jim Robertiello into the back of the net.
            The Crusaders had a 13-10 advantage in shots in the match and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.  Moravian senior goalie Tim Dollarton, pictured at right, had two saves in the contest as did Susquehanna senior keeper B.J. Merriam.

Vs. The University of Scranton – Won 2-0 - Box Score

             Sophomore forward Nick Desiderio, pictured at right, snapped a scoreless tie in the 68th minute to help lead the Moravian College men’s soccer team to a 2-0 Landmark Conference victory over The University of Scranton Wednesday afternoon on the HUB Quad.
            Desiderio took a crossing pass from senior defender Gary Grimes and beat a pair of defenders before a low shot found the back of the net for Desiderio’s second goal of the season.  Moravian would extend its lead in the 88th minute on the third goal of the season by junior midfielder Mark Casagrande off of a pass from freshman midfielder Greg Hargrave.
            With the victory, the Greyhounds improve to 3-1-1 in Landmark Conference action and in the race for a berth in the 2010 Landmark Conference Tournament.
            Moravian jad a 21-19 advantage in shots while the Royals had a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.  Greyhound senior goalie Tim Dollarton made seven saves for his third shutout of the year.  Scranton senior keeper Justin Frick had four saves in the second half of the match, and the Royals had one team save in the contest.  Senior goalie Brandon Dombrowski played the first 45 minutes but did not make a save.

At Goucher College – Won 3-1 - Box Score

            Freshman midfielder Hugh Riley, pictured at right, had a pair of goals and an assist to lead the Moravian College men’s soccer team to a 3-1 Landmark Conference win at Goucher College on Saturday.
            The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute with freshman midfielder/forward Jeffrey Algor scored off of assists from Riley and freshman midfielder Greg Hargrave.  Riley then added the eventual game-winning goal in the 26th minute off of a pass from junior midfielder Mark Casagrande.
            Goucher would cut the Moravian lead in half when Jay Berger scored off of pass from Andrew Bull in the 79th minute.  Riley finished off the scoring with his team-leading sixth goal of the season, an unassisted tally in the 84th minute.
            Moravian had a 16-8 advantage in shots and a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.  Greyhound senior goalie Tim Dollarton had four saves while Joe Kon had seven saves for the Gophers.

At #2 Swarthmore College – Lost 4-0 - Box Score

            Senior forward Morgan Langley had a goal and two assists to lead second-ranked Swarthmore College to a 4-0 non-conference victory over Moravian College Tuesday evening.
            Langley opened the scoring just under five minutes to a match with an unassisted goal.  Langley then set up a goal from junior midfielder Roberto Contreras IV in the 15th minute.  Junior forward Fabian Castro scored off of an assist from sophomore midfielder Kiernan Reichert in the 75th minute while freshman midfielder Jack Momeyer finished off the scoring in the 88th minute off of a pass from Langley.
            Swarthmore had a 24-8 advantage in shots and a 5-0 edge in corner kicks.  Junior goalie David D’Annunzio had five saves for the Garnet.  Moravian senior goalie Tim Dollarton had three saves in 78 minutes while sophomore keeper Mike Brand had one save in 12 minutes of action.

Vs. The United States Merchant Marine Academy – Tied 0-0 (double overtime) - Box Score

            The Moravian College men’s soccer team played to a 0-0, double-overtime draw with The United States Merchant Marine Academy Saturday afternoon on the HUB Quad.
            The Mariners, who reached the NCAA Division III Tournament last season, had a 17-12 advantage in shots in the contest and a 13-6 edge in corner kicks.  USMMA had a 14-10 edge in shots in regulation.
            Moravian senior goalie Tim Dollarton, pictured, had five saves for his second shutout of the season, and the Greyhounds also made one team save.  For the Mariners, sophomore goalie Gary Poulin had three saves, and USMMA made four team saves.

            The Moravian College men's soccer team has cancelled its final non-conference home match of the season, scheduled for Wednesday, October 6th versus Rutgers-Camden due to the amount of rain water on the playing surface from two straight days of rain. The contest will not be rescheduled this season.

At Juniata College – Won 3-0 - Box Score

            Junior defender Mike Dobbins, pictured at right, gave the Moravian College men’s soccer team an early 1-0 lead as the Greyhounds posted a 3-0 Landmark Conference win at Juniata College Saturday afternoon as Moravian snapped a three-match losing streak.
            Dobbins started the scoring in the match on a penalty kick in the eighth minute.  Freshman midfielder/forward Jeffrey Algor added an unassisted goal in the 19th minute to help Moravian to a 2-0 halftime lead.  Freshman midfielder Hugh Riley finished the scoring in the 89th minute when he scored off of an assist from senior midfielder Matthew Levine.
            Both teams recorded 17 shots in the match while Moravian had a 5-4 edge corner kicks.  Greyhound senior goalie Tim Dollarton recorded five saves for his first shutout of the season. Juniata goalie Ezra Cassel had seven saves.

Vs. Elizabethtown College – Lost 7-1 - Box Score

            Senior forward Taylor Helsel netted a pair of goals in the first 17 minutes to help lead the Elizabethtown College men’s soccer team to a 7-1 non-conference win over host Moravian College on the HUB Quad Tuesday afternoon.
            Helsel opened the scoring just 2:45 into the contest when he headed in a throw in from junior defender Geoff Cochrane.  Sophomore forward Javeim Blanchette made the score 2-0 in the 12th minute when he headed in a crossing pass from Cochrane while Helsel gave the Blue Jays a 3-0 lead in the 17th minute when he tapped in a rebound after a shot by sophomore forward Ross Withrow was saved.
            Elizabethtown netted the first four goals of the second half for a 7-0 lead.  Senior midfielder Cameron Gettel scored on a shot from nearly 30-yards out off of a pass from freshman defender Jose Ruiz just 1:06 into the second half and sophomore midfielder Cameron Wyllie netted an unassisted goal from the right side just 27 seconds later when Moravian’s defense was unable to control the ball.  Senior midfielder Chris Rice hit a shot just under the crossbar in the 71st minute after eluding a defender to the left of the goal while freshman forward Andrew Collier tapped in a direct kick by freshman defender Luis Devia in the 75th minute.
            The Greyhounds would get on the scoreboard in the 88th minute when junior forward Taylor Molinaro, pictured, scored on a penalty kick for his first goal of the season.
            Elizabethtown had a 27-11 advantage in shots and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.  Blue Jay junior goalie Andy Barnes had seven saves while Moravian senior keeper Tim Dollarton made ten saves in the first half for the Greyhounds.  Sophomore goalie Mike Brand played the second half for Moravian but did not register a save.

            Freshman midfielder Eric Paone, pictured, gave the Moravian College men’s soccer team an early lead but Drew University rallied for three unanswered goals to post a 3-1 victory in the 2010 Landmark Conference opener for both schools Saturday.
            Paone put a one-touch shot on a ball in the 34th minute to put the Greyhounds on the board first.  Drew’s Jesse Puzio would tie the match in the 39th minute when he connected off of a pass from Kevin Veliz.
            The Rangers took the lead in the 72nd minute when Matthew Gragnano headed in a pass from RJ Voorman, and Drew finished the scoring with an unassisted tally by Will Brackett in the 74th minute. 
            Drew had a 19-8 advantage in shots and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.  Drew’s Jeff Rogers had four saves in the match while Moravian senior keeper Tim Dollarton did not record a save.

            Junior forward Derek Long had a pair of goals to lead host DeSales University to a 4-1 non-conference victory over Moravian College Wednesday afternoon.
            The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute when senior defender Joe Yoha scored on a loose ball in the box.  Long then netted his first of the match in the 32nd minute off of a pass from sophomore midfielder/defender Tyler Nolan.
            Junior forward Jonathan Balfour netted an unassisted goal in the 51st minute for a 3-0 DeSales lead before Long scored his tenth goal of the season off a pass from senior defender Jon Mill in the 56th minute.  Moravian would break-up the shutout in the 78th minute when freshman midfielder/forward Jeffrey Algor, pictured, netted his third goal of the season off of a pass from senior forward Chris Walsh.

            Junior midfielder Mark Casagrande, pictured at right, scored his first two goals of the season to lift the Moravian College men’s soccer team to a 3-1 non-conference win over Lebanon Valley College on the Hub Quad Saturday afternoon.
            The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute when freshman midfielder Hugh Riley scored off of a pass from freshman midfielder Greg Hargrave.  The Flying Dutchmen tied the contest just five seconds later when Andrew Cooper scored off the restart. 
            Casagrande would score the game-winner in the 30th minute off of a pass from junior defender Mike Dobbins to help Moravian snap a four-match losing streak.  Casagrande would net his second goal of the match in the 85th minute to finish off the scoring.
            Lebanon Valley had a 19-15 advantage in shots and an 11-5 edge in corner kicks.  Greyhound senior goalie Tim Dollarton made six saves, and Moravian also had three teams saves.  Sophomore keeper James Clements had three saves for the Flying Dutchmen, who also had three team saves.

            Junior forward Cody Antonini and sophomore defender Nate Squire each scored a pair of goals to lead the Muhlenberg College men’s soccer team to a 5-2 non-conference win over Moravian College Wednesday evening.
            Squire opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 11th minute while Antonini made it 2-0 in the 30th minute off of a pass from senior goalie Jason Daniels as Antonini ran down a long punt from Daniels and put the ball in the net.  Senior forward Tom Reilly would give the Mules a 3-0 lead in the 42nd minute when Daniels sent a long kick that was headed to Reilly from Antonini for the goal.
            Moravian would get on the scoreboard in the 43rd minute when freshman midfielder Eric Paone, pictured at right, headed in a corner kick from freshman midfielder Hugh Riley for Paone’s first collegiate goal.
            Squire opened the scoring in the second half with a goal on a corner kick in the 61st minute.  Antonini would score just 15 seconds later off of a pass from junior midfielder Tim Leischner.  Riley, pictured at left, finished off the scoring for Moravian in the 71st minute with an unassisted tally for his second goal of the year.
            Muhlenberg had a 32-9 advantage in shots and an 8-4 edge in corner kicks.  Moravian senior goalie Tim Dollarton had eight saves in 71 minutes of action while sophomore keeper Mike Brand played the final 19 minutes.  Daniels made two saves for Muhlenberg.

            Junior midfielder Kjell Crooke and sophomore forward Cherif Moktefi each scored a pair of goals to lead the Marymount (VA) University men’s soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Moravian College in the second day of the Hampden-Sydney College Tournament Sunday afternoon.
            Crooke opened the scoring on a penalty kick in the 17th minute while Moktefi netted an unassisted goal in the 25th minute.  Crooke would score again in the 36th minute when he took a pass from Moktefi from the left side that ended up inside the right post.  Moktefi added an unassisted goal in the 80th minute.
            Moravian finished the game with a 22-16 advantage in shots while each team had five corner kicks.  Greyhound senior goalie Tim Dollarton had three saves, and Moravian had one team save while William Brahmstadt had seven saves for the Saints.             Marywood University sophomore midfielder Brandon Ritter scored in the 16th minute to help lead the Pacers to a 2-0 victory over host Moravian College Sunday afternoon on the HUB Quad in the second day of the Moravian/Muhlenberg Tournament.
            Ritter tapped in a crossing pass from senior midfielder William Gordon to open the scoring.  Marywood added another goal in the 60th minute when junior midfielder Brett Megee gathered a loose ball after a direct kick and put it in the net from the left side of the box.

            Freshman midfielder/forward Jeffrey Algor scored a pair of goals to help the Moravian College men’s soccer team post a 6-1 non-conference victory over Centenary College Saturday afternoon on the HUB Quad in the first day of the Moravian/Muhlenberg Tournament.
            Senior defender Gary Grimes would get the Greyhounds on the scoreboard in the 24th minute when he scored his first goal of the season after missing the 2009 campaign with an injury.  Freshman midfielder Hugh Riley added an unassisted goal in the 33rd minute as Moravian headed into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
            Sophomore forward Nick Desiderio opened the scoring in the second half for Moravian with an unassisted tally in the 47th minute before freshman defender Antonio Cabrera scored for the Cyclones in the 58th minute.  Moravian freshman defender Justin Dilts added a goal in the 80th minute before Algor scored his first goal in the 82nd minute off of a pass from senior midfielder Brian Hunscher.  Algor would add an unassisted goal in the 89th minute.

             Sophomore midfielder Nico Scarpato scored in the 23rd minute to lead the Wesley College men’s soccer team to a 2-0 non-conference win over visiting Moravian College in non-conference action to start the 2010 season Wednesday evening.
            Scarpato took a pass from junior midfielder Matt Nimmerichter to opening the scoring, and sophomore defender Joseph Toh added an unassisted goal in the 41st minute to give the Wolverines the 2-0 lead.
            Wesley had a 21-2 advantage in shots in the contest and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.  Senior goalie Nick Talarico had two saves for the Wolverines while senior keeper Tim Dollarton had six saves for Moravian.
