GREYHOUNDS WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY 9TH IN NATION

BETHLEHEM, PA --- After three straight invitational wins to open the 2000 season, the Moravian College women’s cross country team moved up to ninth in the second NCAA Division III poll of the season.

The Greyhounds, who have won the Kutztown Maroon & Gold Invitational (a Div. II race), the Lafayette College Invitational (a Div. I meet) and the Muhlenberg College Invitational (a Div. III event), were 12th  in last week’s first poll of the 2000 season.  Moravian has won the last seven Middle Atlantic Conference Championships and has also competed in the NCAA Division III National Championships the last seven years.

Junior Emily Shertzer has captured first place in each meet this season and has been followed by junior Kim Jaick, junior Heidi Wolfsberger, junior Erin Boyle and senior Hannah Wood. All five of Moravian’s top runners have finished in the top 16 of each race this fall.  The Greyhounds will compete at the New York University Invitational this weekend.
