WALKIEWICZ & COLLIER NAMED MORAVIAN ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

BETHLEHEM, PA --- Junior Sara Walkiewicz (Bethlehem/Bethlehem Catholic HS) of the women's volleyball team and senior Dustin Collier (Easton/Freedom HS) from the football squad have been named the Moravian College Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances last week.

Walkiewicz helped the Greyhounds reach the Commonwealth Conference Championship match for the fourth straight season and the postseason for the fifth consecutive year.  Walkiewicz, a right side hitter, had 12 kills, 22 digs and a service ace in a 3-1 victory at Susquehanna University in the semifinals.  She added five kills, four digs and a service ace in a 3-0 loss to Juniata College in the title match.  Moravian completed the 2000 season with a record of 21-9.

Collier, a defensive end, led the Greyhounds to their third straight win, a 28-21 victory at Wilkes University on Saturday, and helped the squad clinch its first winning season since 1997.  Collier had 12 tackles, six of them solo, three tackles for loss of 24 yards, two sacks for loss of 18 yards and a fumble recovery.  Collier's second sack pinned the Colonels on their own two yard line and forced a punt the Moravian's Michael Abbate (South Plainfield, NJ/ Bishop Ahr HS) returned 29 yards for a touchdown.  The Greyhounds, 6-3 on the season, will host rival Muhlenberg College on Saturday, November 11th at 1:00 p.m.
