THREE HOUNDS NAMED COMMONWEALTH VOLLEYBALL ALL-STARS;
ZIPF TABBED COMMONWEALTH ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

ANNVILLE, PA --- Senior middle hitter Becky Falk (Allentown/Dieruff HS) and freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf (Wyomissing/Holy Name HS) of the Moravian College women's volleyball team have been named to the Commonwealth Conference Women's Volleyball All-Star First Team.  Zipf was also named the Commonwealth Conference Rookie of the Year while senior middle hitter Sara Young (Tunkhannock/Tunkhannock HS) earned a spot on the Commonwealth All-Star Second Team.

The Greyhounds completed the 2000 season with a record of 21-9, their fifth straight 20-win season, and competed in the postseason for the fifth consecutive year.  Moravian was seeded third in the Commonwealth Conference Playoffs and lost to Juniata in the title match for the fourth straight year.

Falk, who was one of just two Moravian players to play in all 109 games this year, led the Greyhounds with a .282 hitting percentage.  Falk added 293 kills, 68 blocks and 63 digs for Moravian.  She completed her career with 922 kills.

Zipf led Moravian with 384 kills and 439 digs in her debut season.  Zipf, who had a .268 hitting percentage, also had 28 blocks and 26 service aces this season.  She was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Elizabethtown Halloween Classic as was also the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week the same week.

Young, who was the Commonwealth Rookie of the Year in 1997, posted a team leading 77 blocks this season and she added 225 kills and 62 digs this fall.  Young completed her Moravian career 713 kills and 260 blocks.  She was also named to the Verizon Academic All-District II College Division Volleyball Second Team on Thursday.
