GILL NAMED COMMONWEALTH BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Senior shortstop Mike Gill (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon HS) of the Moravian College baseball team has been named the Commonwealth Conference Baseball Player of the Week for his performance last week.

Gill became the fifth player in Moravian College history to surpass 100 career hits and the second this season with a torrid week, hitting .579 with 11 hits in 19 at-bats as the Greyhounds won four of six games.  Gill entered the week needing 10 hits to reach 100.  For the week, Gill added eight runs scored, four RBIs, four doubles, four walks, four stolen bases, a .789 slugging percentage, a .652 on-base percentage and just one error in 23 chances in the field.  In a doubleheader sweep of Susquehanna University, Gill was four-for-five and he went five-for-seven in a pair of losses against first place Lebanon Valley College.  Gill ended the week with a two-for-seven performance in a twinbill sweep of Drew University.

The Greyhounds are currently 13-17 overall this season and will play at DeSales University on Wednesday, April 25th at 3:30 p.m.
