MOWREY & HASTINGS NAMED TO NFCA ALL-REGION TEAMS

BETHLEHEM, PA --- Moravian College junior pitcher Rachel Mowrey (Hellertown/ Saucon Valley HS) was named to the National Fastpitch College Association All-East Region Second Team and freshman utility player Jenn Hastings (Pottstown/Owen J. Roberts HS) was named to the NFCA All-East Region Third Team Thursday.

Mowrey and Hastings have led the Greyhounds to a 32-10 record this season and a fourth seeded in the NCAA Division III East Regional at William Paterson University this weekend.  The 32 wins sets a Moravian record and the trip to the NCAA Regional is the fourth straight for the Greyhounds.

Mowrey has led the Moravian pitching staff with a 0.84 earned run average while tying the school record with 16 victoies.  She has a 16-3 record with 55 strikeouts and just 17 walks in 134 innings pitched.  Mowrey was a Commonwealth Conference First Team All-Star this season.

Hastings, who has seen time this season in the outfield, at first base, as a catcher and as a designated player, is second on the Greyhound squad with a .358 batting average.  She has 44 hits on 123 at-bats with 21 RBIs, 17 runs scored, three doubles and one triple.
