MORAVIAN WOMEN'S SOCCER PREPARES FOR 
COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS

BETHLEHEM, PA --- For the second straight season, the Moravian College women's soccer team is headed to the postseason.  The Greyhounds will travel to Grantham, PA to battle top seed Messiah College in the Commonwealth Conference Semifinals on Wednesday, October 24th at 7:00 p.m.  The winner of the match advances to the Commonwealth Conference Championship match on Saturday, October 27th.

Moravian, which is 11-6 on the season, played Messiah last season in the semifinals as well, falling by the final of 2-1 in Bethlehem.  Messiah, ranked eighth in the nation last week, enters the match with a 14-1 overall record.  The Falcons were 7-0 in the Commonwealth during the regular season while the Greyhounds were 4-3.

Leading the Greyhounds this season have been senior midfielder Stevie Ochse (Bethlehem, PA/Saucon Valley HS) and sophomore midfielder Erica Napoli (Wyomissing, PA/Wilson West Lawn HS).  Ochse, a three-time Commonwealth All-Star, leads the squad with nine goals and two assists for 20 points while Napoli has seven goals and four assists for 18 points.  Three of Ochse's goals have been game-winners this season while Napoli has two game-winning tallies.

Freshman midfielder Kelly Haymaker (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley HS) has added six goals and two assists in her debut season while sophomore midfielder Justina Bria (Warminster, PA/William Tennent HS) controls the Moravian offense from the middle of the field.  Bria has contributed four goals and four assists this season.

Other goal scorers for the Greyhounds this season have been sophomore forward Rori Franges (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley HS) with two goals and one assist, sophomore midfielder Faye Zaninelli (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant Boro HS) with one goal and four assists, sophomore midfielder Heather Bichler (Waverly, PA/Abington heights HS) and Roxanne Esposito (Union, NJ/Montclair Kimberly Academy) with one goal and two assists and freshman midfielder Brianne DeVries (Stockton, NJ/Delaware Valley Regional HS) with one goal and one assist.  Senior defender Becky Caulwell (Chester, NJ/Mt Olive HS), junior midfielder Kara Miller (Myerstown, PA/ELCO HS) and sophomore midfielder Rachel Davy (Oaklyn, NJ/Haddon Township HS) each have added one goal while junior defender Allison Kranchalk (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant Boro HS) and sophomore midfielder Michelle Gorman (Philadelphia, PA/Nazareth Academy HS) each have added one assist.

In goal, the Greyhounds have used three keepers this season led by junior Neali Miller (Wyomissing, PA/Wilson West Lawn HS).  Miller has a 1.08 goals against average in 915 minutes with 47 saves, two solo shutouts and a 7-3 record.  Freshman goalie Jill Vaccaro (South Salem, NY/John Jay HS) has a 1.50 goals against average, 15 saves and a 2-1 mark in 360 minutes of work while sophomore Kelly Wakeman (Easton, PA/home schooled) has a 2-2 record, a 1.70 goals against average and eight saves in 265 minutes of action.  The trio has combined for a 1.29 goals against average this season and a total of five shutouts.
