GREYHOUNDS SELECTED FIRST
IN COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE SOFTBALL PRESEASON COACHES POLL
ANNVILLE, PA --- The Moravian College softball team, the two-time defending Commonwealth
Conference champions, has been selected to finish first again in the Commonwealth Conference
again this season in the preseason poll voted on by the eight conference coaches.
The Greyhounds, who were 33-12 overall and 10-4 in the Commonwealth Conference last season,
are off to a 4-0 start this year after a spring trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Moravian,
under the direction on ninth-year head coach John Byrne, has made the NCAA Division
III Tournament the last four seasons.
Moravian received seven of the eight first place votes and was followed by Messiah College,
who received the other first place vote. Susquehanna University, which finished first
in the Commonwealth regular season last season with a 10-4 slate, was selected to finish
third.
