BORTZ NAMED COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE, PA --- Freshman shortstop Heather Bortz (Allentown, PA/Parkland HS) of
the Moravian College softball team has been named the Commonwealth Conference Player of
the Week for her performance last week.
Bortz helped the Greyhounds to 4-0 record last week including doubleheader sweeps
of Elizabethtown College and Dickinson College. Bortz was four-for-six in
the twin bill at Elizabethtown with four RBIs, a triple and a stolen base. After
being held hitless for just the fourth time in 21 games this season in the first contest
with Dickinson, Bortz responded with a two-for-three, two stolen base performance
in the second game. For the week, Bortz hit .462 with a .615 slugging percentage
and a .533 on-base percentage.
Moravian, ranked 21st in the nation, is 24-4 overall and returns to action on Tuesday,
April 16th in a 2:00 p.m. doubleheader with Muhlenberg College at Patriots Park in Allentown.
