GREYHOUND SOFTBALL RANKED IN NCAA STATS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College softball team, ranked 20th in the nation and 31-6 this season, is ranked in five categories and two individual players are each ranked in the fourth NCAA Division III statistical report of the season released Wednesday.

The rankings, which include games completed by April 28th, have the Greyhounds ranked 11th in earned-run average at 1.02; 12th in win-loss percentage at .838, 18th in batting average at .352, 26th in the nation in fielding percentage at .958 and 27th in scoring, averaging 6.65 runs per game.

Individually, senior pitcher Rachel Mowrey (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley HS) is 26th in earned run average with an ERA of 1.05.  Sophomore third baseman Janelle Brey (Allentown, PA/Dieruff HS) is tenth in homeruns per game at 0.28 (ten homers in 36 contests) and 11th in the nation in RBIs per game at 1.36 (49 RBIs in 36 games).

The Greyhounds return to action on Friday, May 3rd in the first round of the Commonwealth Conference Playoffs at Lebanon Valley College.
