GREYHOUND SOFTBALL RANKED IN NCAA STATS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College softball team, ranked 20th in the nation and 34-6 this season, is ranked in five categories and two individual players are each ranked in the fifth NCAA Division III statistical report of the season released Wednesday.

The rankings, which include games completed by May 5th, have the Greyhounds ranked tenth in earned-run average at 0.98; tied for tenth in win-loss percentage at .850, 17th in batting average at .352, 18th in the nation in fielding percentage at .960 and 28th in scoring, averaging 6.65 runs per game.

Individually, senior pitcher Rachel Mowrey (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley HS) is 20th in earned run average with an ERA of 0.99.  Sophomore third baseman Janelle Brey (Allentown, PA/Dieruff HS) is 12th in homeruns per game at 0.26 (ten homers in 39 contests) and 14th in the nation in RBIs per game at 1.31 (51 RBIs in 39 games).

The Greyhounds return to action on Friday, May 6th in the NCAA Division III East Regional hosted by Cabrini College in Radnor, PA.
