FIVE NAMED MORAVIAN ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

BETHLEHEM, PA --- Junior guard Tara Wozniak (Roseland, NJ/West Essex Regional HS) from the women's basketball team, seniors Sarah Shaneberger (Bethlehem, PA/Southern Lehigh HS) and Heidi Wolfsberger (Moosic, PA/ Riverside HS) of the women's indoor track & field team, senior Kevin Bush (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg HS) from the men's indoor track & field squad and freshman forward Brandon Zaleski (Hackettstown, NJ/ Hackettstown HS) from the men's basketball squad have been named the Moravian College Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances last week.

Wozniak led the Greyhounds to a 1-1 week last week and helped the team improve to 12-7 overall and 6-2 in the Commonwealth Conference.  She scored 14 points and added four rebounds, and three steals in Moravian's 59-51 victory over Susquehanna University.  Wozniak was the only Greyhound in double figures in a 65-40 loss at Lebanon Valley College as she had 22 points to go along with seven rebounds and five steals.  Moravian will be back in action on Tuesday, January 29th when the team hosts Albright College in Commonwealth Conference action.

Shaneberger, a thrower, earned a pair of top three finishes in field events at the Potomac Valley USATF Collegiate Invitational at the Prince George's Sports Complex in Landover, Maryland on Sunday.  Shaneberger placed second in the shot put with a toss of 11.86 meters (38 feet, 11 inches) and she was third in the 20-lb. weight throw at 13.26 meters (43 feet, six inches).  Both throws bettered the Eastern College Athletic Conference qualifying standards for the year.

Wolfsberger, a distance runner, had a pair of top five finishes at the Potomac Valley USATF Collegiate Invitational at the Prince George's Sports Complex in Landover, Maryland on Sunday.  Wolfsberger won the 800 meters in an ECAC qualifying time of 2:20.08 and she won her heat and was sixth overall in the mile race with a time of 5:37.19, also an ECAC qualifying time.

Bush, a sprinter, had a top five finish in his three events at the Potomac Valley USATF Collegiate Invitational at the Prince George's Sports Complex in Landover, Maryland on Sunday.  Bush won his heat and was fourth overall in the 400 meters in 50.39 seconds, an ECAC qualifying time.  He also competed in the 60-meter high hurdles with a time of 7.16 seconds and the 200 meters with a season best time of 23.63 seconds.

Zaleski helped Moravian to a 2-1 record last week and he has led the Greyhounds to an overall record of 12-7 and a 4-4 mark in the Commonwealth Conference.  Zaleski opened last week with 25 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots in a 72-56 victory over Swarthmore College.  He added 13 points and six rebounds in an 81-68 loss to Susquehanna University.  Zaleski finished off the week with 14 points and five rebounds in the Greyhounds 71-64 victory at Lebanon Valley College.
