ROTZELL NAMED ECAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
CENTERVILLE, MA --- Freshman jumper Kirsten Rotzell (Bangor, PA/Bangor HS) of the
Moravian College women's indoor track & field team has been named the Eastern College
Athletic Conference Division III Women's Field Athlete of the Week after her performance
last week.
Rotzell was named the Women's Most Outstanding Performer while winning the long
jump and triple jump and leading Moravian to its seventh straight Middle Atlantic Conference
Indoor Track & Field Championship. The Greyhounds squad posted a team score of
147, 65 points ahead of second place Widener University. Rotzell won the long
jump with an Eastern College Athletic Conference qualifying leap of 5.29 meters (17 feet,
4 ¼ inches) and she captured the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of
10.92 meters (35 feet, ten inches). Rotzell, who was Moravian's third straight
Most Outstanding Performer, placed sixth in the 55 meters with an ECAC qualifying time
of 7.68 seconds.
