MORAVIAN'S SCHERWIN WINS JAVELIN & SHOT PUT AT DANISH CHAMPIONSHIPS
RANDERS, DENMARK --- Christina Scherwin (Denmark), a member of the Moravian College
women's track and field team and the 2002 NCAA Division III National Champion in the javelin,
won the javelin and the shot put at the 2002 Danish Championships on August 16th to 18th
at Langvang Stadium in Randers, Denmark.
Scherwin, who won the 2002 Middle Atlantic Conference titles in the shot put, both
indoors and outdoors, and the javelin, had a winning throw of 47.60 meters (156 feet, two
inches) in the javelin and she captured the shot put with a toss of 13.39 meters (43 feet,
11 ¼ inches).
Scherwin, who helped the Greyhounds win their seventh straight MAC Indoor title and
tenth consecutive MAC Outdoor Championship, will return to Moravian in time for the fall
semester, and she has two years of eligibility remaining for the Greyhounds. |
