MORAVIAN WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY SELECTED FIRST;
MEN SEVENTH IN MAC POLLS

ANNVILLE, PA --- The Moravian College women's cross country team has been selected to win its tenth straight Middle Atlantic Conference Championships in the 2002 MAC Conference Preseason Poll as voted by the conference head coaches. The Greyhound men's squad was picked seventh of 15 schools

The Greyhound women, who have won the last nine MAC titles and finished third in the country last fall, received 97 points and nine first place votes to finish 16 points ahead of Messiah College, which had 81 points and two first place votes. On the men's side, Moravian had 37 points while Elizabethtown College was a unanimous choice to repeat as champions.

Moravian, under the direction of 16-year head coach Mark Will-Weber, returns 13 letterwinners on the women's team and six letterwinners on the men's squad. The women are also looking for their third straight NCAA Mideast Regional Championship this fall.

The Greyhounds will open their 2002 campaign on Saturday, August 31st at a meet hosted by Salisbury University in Salisbury, Maryland, the course that will host this year's regional race.
